If McCain starts pandering to extremists like Coulter, he will lose his army of independents. He's walking a tight rope. Independents support him now for precisely the reasons the extremist conservatives don't. I as a conservative-leaning independent, will drop him like a hot potato if he panders to Coulter.

Yeh...Vote for John McCain and the World will face the third world war. Who cares!...America thrust it's nose everywhere. May be the american president;s election should be in the whole Planet?

I totally agree with your notion that everyone in all countries, should vote to elect the president of the United states of America. This holds true because the president's decisions on external affairs, have a global reach, whatever the president does in this regard affects people all over the globe. Electing the president is incomparable in importance, than electing a governor, a mayor or a senator. With this in view, Americans should employs great caution with this delicate issue - be careful with show that presidential candidates presents when they campaign.

I think it's a shame that Conservatives want a Democratic President so they can take "the fall" for whatever bad things may happen so that Republicans can "swoop in" to fix them. How narrow minded can people be. I have many liberal views, but I think that Senator McCain's willingness to reach across the aisle and work with Democrats shows a leader's attempt at unifying the 2 parties. But, I admit that the only way I'll vote for McCain is if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, otherwise it's Obama all the way.

If you are one of those True Conservatives who can honestly claim that you opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning, ignore this. If you are one of the majority of True Conservatives who supported Bush and the war from the beginning, this message is for you.

The upcoming election will be a referendum on many issues ranging from those which neither side will ever be able to effectively resolve to those which will be decisively resolved as soon as the votes are tallied. Of all the issues which may be decided at that time, none will be decided with more finality and immediacy than the war in Iraq. Have no doubt that a Democrat victory will result in our surrender in this conflict. This is what many in our country want. This is not what most True Conservatives have said that they want. They have articulated in every possible way their desire for a victory which will inure to the honor of the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much in that conflict.

Yet now many True Conservatives are saying that they will not support the likely Republican nominee because of his disloyalty to them. This is a reasonable position for every issue except one: the loyalty that True Conservatives owe to the brave men and women they summoned to duty in Iraq. There is no equivalence between what True Conservatives want with regard toward immigration, sex and gender issues, life issues and the rest of the agenda and what they committed the country to when they declared war in Iraq. Most of the True Conservative issues are just that, issues. Things to be discussed, debated and perhaps legislated. Iraq was once simply an issue. It was discussed and debated. Largely at the behest of many of the True Conservatives who are now preparing to abandon it, it was transformed from an issue into an action, a war.

True Conservatives should be perfectly clear on one thing. They are taking the position that their decision to not support the apparent nominee is a principled one, intended to allow them to go forward in the future and reform the country in their own image. Sometime in the future they hope to be able to say that they made this country a better place. But if they account for the margin of loss for the Republican nominee this fall they will also be immediately responsible for casting our entire military effort in Iraq into the trash heap of history. The horrible price we have paid to date in lives and dollars will be for naught. It is likely that our nation???s military might will never again be considered by those who would harm us to be a credible deterrent to their bad actions. We will become the new France.

The legacy of True Conservatives fail to support the Republican nominee will become their willingness to place their partisan concerns above the lives and honor of our soldiers in time of war. Disgraceful.

What? Huh? maybe the preceding comments are what Obama is talking about when he say's "change" and in that i can understand yeah lets do it but in my experience some things only change after lots of time and denying the fuel from the fire.

I can not understand what credentials they have to say anything to which anyone should give credence. This whole aspect of commentary gives me the willies. Are they experts in the field of diplomacy? Do they have academic credentials which elevate them above the common folk such that the common folk should be willing to take notice? Are they steeped in the history of american political philosophy? What we have are commentators without credentials consulting other commentators who also lack credentials. Weird.

I guess the conservatives do not have the foresight to see thaat McCain is their only chnace( albeit a long one) to win the whitehouse. Whats the saying? Cut off your nose to spite your face? I think that applies to the conservative party in this case.

One line summed it up: "... so dogmatic that they'll choose purity over victory." This isn't about effective government or what's right for the country. It's about power, and the "base" isn't going to give it up without a fight. Knock yourselves out, folks. The more you rant, the more you look like the Taliban or Iran's mullahs who choose adherence over competence. I'm sympathetic to conservatives with rational, well-reasoned stance (George Will comes to mind), and might come back to the Republican party if they'd return to fiscal responsibility and stay out of people's bedrooms. In the meantime, let the loudmouths rant while the country moves on.

Radio talk show hosts are entertainers. So is Jerry Springer and professional wrestling.

I'm a conservative Christian who finds the "Limbaugh mentality" (isn't that an oxymoron?) nauseating. Worse yet, the shock jock conservatives are doing incredible damage to the conservative cause. They'd rather give the election to Clinton or Obama than support someone who has the audacity to honestly weigh issues instead of stupidly following right wing dogma. Go McCain!

MSNBC seems to be SURPRISED! Come on people Talk radio comentators say what they for a reason. Its the media like MSNBC that never puts out the full facts. You must be STUPID to think this is NEWS worthy! To prove my point MSNBC will start criticizing McCain after he is the Rep. nomine. Can MSNBC say we got your back Hillary, I know Achor Shuster can.

I cant beleive how stupid Limbaugh and Coulter are. There comments are going to be replayed over and over. When Coulter said she'd rather vote for Clinton, Colmes was bang on when he replied "My work is done" When the right wing nut jobs think that Clinton is better for the country than McCain, its so over. Dems win the WhiteHouse Big Time! Were talking like when the Republicans beat Duckasis big, or dare I say Mondale big?

I sincerely encourage my conservative friends to reject the bombastic, simplistic, hateful rantings of these "celebrity" commentators. They have never, nor will they ever add anything constructive to the debate and discourse of the future of our country.

IMHO: I think we are being "trained" to like or tolerate McCain. After all, if the "hardcore" conservative talkshow hosts such as Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, and Savage can't stand the idea of him being in the White House, he can't be that bad, right? Bull. It's all a game. They're just trying to sucker the independents who might consider going to Clinton or Obama into taking another look at McCain. The only good thing I can say about McCain is this: If (or when) he gets us into a war with Iran, he's going to subscribe to the Schwarzkopf/Powell doctrine, rather than the Rumsfeld doctrine.

Lets talk a little about Republicans and spending. The $3 trillion Bush's proposes spending in 2009 would be the first time that milestone has been reached. Bush also presided over the first budget to hit $2 trillion, in 2002. It took the government nearly 200 years to reach the first $1 trillion budget, which occurred in 1987 during the Reagan administration.

Sorry. The Democrats wish for English to be our National Language. You can use or not, whatever you wish. It was Bill Clinton in an executive order who make ballots and all other stuff avialable in all languages. Republicans wish to make English our Official language. If it is not in English..it is not. Voting is in English. Signs are in english. No Press One for English..Press Two for Spanish. English is the American Language and the only one.

McCain does not support making English the Official and only language of the USA I am almost certain. He is pretty much Lockstep with Kennedy on Immigration Issues and he voted for the bill which banned making English Official and only.
And of course people can speak whatever language they please at home or in society..but Govt. Business must be done in English Only..as most nations already do..their Govt. Business is done in their official national language. And other nations have one. I assure you...Mexican business is conducted in Spanish only.

That is a big thing to me. English is our common uniter. I see an Indian Gov..he opens his mouth and speaks with a Southern Drawl..and I see an American. It is language that binds us together. McCain does not see or care about that apparently...and I say that based on the content of the Amnesty Bill he cosponsored with Kennedy and Bush.

Senators have an approval rating of 22%. That is low, low. So for President..we get to chose between three senators. Why do we keep this insane system of chosing a President? And now the Democrats have SuperDelegates. That sounds like something from the Poltical doings of the Old USSR. It really does.

I have had enough of the Democrats for the last two years. Until they took congress this country stood good in it's economy through many severe natural catastrophies, 9/11, the war, etx. In the las two years since the Democratic Congress; the housing market fell apart, and America is in a Recession. I remain with the Republican President who has proved himself in keeping this country going under the worst extreme circumstances. The Democratics still sit there and suck their bottles of relief that they are finally back in controll of something; but of what? They feel they have to improve or dismantal all the Presidents Bills that he puts before them. Democrats say that the Republican Congress was a free ticket to the President, when actually they have made a mess of everthing. Losing your house? well, I'm so sorry but it isn't President Bush's fault. Write Pelosi. Ann Coulter: your anorexic brain, like the rest of you, can kiss my hearty and healthy Republican socks.

dumb****, the Democrats have only had control for the past year and not enough to quash the fillibusters. How can you honestly blame the democrats ....the problems with the economy didn't happen overnight and it's Bush's and the Republican's policies coupled with spending hundreds of billions on the war in Iraq instead of on our infrastructure, fixing healthcare, and other domesting issues that got us into a mess that at times seems unescapable.

McCain is the best out of the 4 remaining candidates? You haven't looked deeply into this issue have you? Huckabee is actually the streongest candidate on the republican side. Obama is, on the democratic side. I have my very well-thought and thorough reasons why I take these positions. If any of you would like to inquire of me these reasons.
