Everyone knows that the only reason McCain is in the position he is in is because you had Huckabee, Romney and Thompson all fighting for the conservative vote.

Without Romney in the race, Mike Huckabee can and should stay in this race. He has competed without a fraction of the resources of the other candidates, yet has won a variety of states and done very well.

He will get more time in debates now and will be able to debate the issues head to head with McCain.

Plus, no-one knows what Romney plans to do with his delegates.

Romney and McCain were pretty hostile for a while and do not agree on a lot of isses. I think Romney might be waiting to see if Huckabee wins a few upcoming states. If so, he could very well endorse Huckabee, which would result in Huckabee gaining Romney's delegates and doubling his delegate count.

If Huckabee wins Texas and a couple other states, he would be right there with McCain.

It's not over yet, regardless of what the media says (as they want a moderate or democrat as President).

*** The states that are left to vote can make a difference for once. Yes, we Americans do have a choice but to some people's disappointment. ***

No, actually they can't. Huckabee would need to win every single remaining delegate to be nominated. And some of the remaining states are proportional allocation states, he would need to win 100% of the vote in them.

What are you talking about donco6? I just said that FREEDOM of thought and religion is an American principle...and I'm making the point that Huckabee (and many evangelicals) do not appear to espouse that principle.

Do we really want a Baptist minister in the White House? What happened to the separation of Church and State??

Hukabee has yet to win support in a state that is overflowing with Evangelicals. His main stream support does not exist. The GOP will have an even wider divide if he gets the nom.

Huckabee has yet to win in a state that is not crowded with Evangelicals. His main stream appeal is non-exisitent.
