    It is fascinating how easy it is for pedophiles to get jobs that seem to benefit children and thus earn the trust of adults. Fascinating and sickening.

    Prisons should go back to the hard core prisons of old...If one is in prison they have to work on chain gangs and be locked up when not working. No real rights except those of food, water, and heat and air conditioning should be provided. Now it seems that prisons are glorified as THE place to be by musicians, and other artists, so kids are drawn to this. If you do the crime then do the HARD time. Maybe if it isnt such a cake walk to be in prison ppl will take the laws more serious. If someone hurts children in this way then there IS no going back and should get serious time. I agree that there should be a serious revamp of certain laws to consider what is a serious offense. Like a 5 or 6 y/o shouldnt be cuffed and hauled off in a cop car because they threw a fit like kids that age do.. Its ridiculous what our lawyers get away charging ppl with. While Im on this subject The judges and attorneys should have there immunity status in cases revoked so that they Will obide by the law for law and not personal gain.

      I agree with going back to prisons of old. My thoughts are that they should be even less comfortable than you state and more segregated with regard to the crime of the inmate.

      Prisons need to be nothing more than a giant pit with all the people inside, protected by gaurds. They can receive their food once or twice a day via a dump truck that unloads it in the pit.

      Murderers should be housed with murderers. Rapists should be housed with rapists. Thieves should be housed with thieves. What better than to put a criminal with others like themself.

      We have WAY too much compassion for criminals and they offend and reoffend because of it. It won't stop until our laws are harsher and prisons move away from the comfort resort trend.

    Don't wonder why women want to have babies on their own, there doesn't seem to be respectable or trustworthy companions around anymore. Why pick on women who have a natural biological instinct but don't want to settle for men's shenanigans anymore as in the past. Women, you need to get that education and become self-sufficient. The men are just trying to make money off you.

      You are very negative and ignorant to assume that all men are like the few who have apparently run you down. Sometimes when people can't find a good companion, it means they are trying out the same type of person over and over, and surprise, it doesn't work. Try a new type of man to be with or be quiet.

    What is this world coming too.Can we trust anyone with our kids...? I am getting sick to my stomach every time i hear about a story like this. if the goverment isnt going to protect our kids then i guess its our job to invegestiate everyone in our childs life...maybe then we will get the ugly out....

      That's not a bad idea checking into everyone in your children's lives... I make a point to know every adult my children are around, just to get a feel for what type of person they are.

      The statements made by people that knew him have issues. Predators are not as "hidden" in society as some people would make them seem. The guy who made the statement saying what a great guy this predator was is blind to what goes on around him.

    Yes we have all made mistakes but my mistakes didnt involve hurting children- or anyone else! If he just "made a mistake", where do we draw the line?
    Maybe the men that kidnap and sexually abuse babies are "just making mistakes"? We are all born with the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong. It is in our hearts. God instills that in all of us, from birth.

    They need to bring back capitol punishment. Maybe that would deter them so they realize that sexual abuse is wrong. We need to get a government that doesn't get swayed by easy money. The world is becomming corrupt, especially in America. The people in prison have a better lifestyle than I do. I'm a home health aide and have no medical insurance, besides VA. The closest VA hospital is over 100 miles away. What we need to do is vote in a better government. I'm wondering if he has connections in Florida, where he was able to get that job. I'm also wondering why they even have bail. Would he have done things different if prisons were harsher? He's going to be put in a different area than all the other prisoners, if they put in regular population they would beat him to death. Maybe they shouldn't segregrate the sex offenders, and see if that is a deterent.

    "the goverment isnt going to protect our kids" . i always looked to others for protection and always was wondering when that person was going to come and help me, then i shook it all off and saw that i was a sucker to my own self important delusion. i woke up and found out that i have to take care of myself and everytime someone helps take care of me it is a very special gift and not taken for granted, that is why i vote for Hillary. She is out there fighting for us and no one is asking her to - she does it because she was called to and is empowered to do by God - the proof is in the pudding and the tree is know by it's fruit and that fruit is in season and the sweetest in the land getting ready for packaging and export to the nations.

    We should vote for Gravel for President. He wants to put the power back w/ the people. Obviously the government can't even hire the right people for the job. Whatever happened to the people deciding who gets in the government? This world is becomming too corrupt and our America is falling apart. I'm a single mother and it is very hard to find any decent guy out there. I'm a hard working tax paying American, yet when I vote I feel like it doesn't even count. When capitol punishment was taken away, things started to get worse. They tell us to live by a religous lifestyle, but don't live by the bible. An eye for an eye...etc... . The government doesn't even have the same lifestyle that we do. Lets see if they could live off of $250 a week. Have no medical insurance.. and I'm a home healthaide. They need to get in touch w/ reality, and that reality is to bring back capitol punishment. Why do a criminal in prison have a better life than me? Maybe I should get arrested and then not have to worry about anything anymore. I'll get a doctor and have 3 meals a day.

    This story like all the others makes me sick. As a mother, we are suppose to be able to trust those in higher postions. Why cant the govement get it together and find these things out eailer...Just do a full background the 1st time...How are we going to protect our kids if the goverment isnt doing thier jobs...step up....

    Exactly what was his qualifications for his job. What was his background, schooling, and training that paved the way for him becoming a reporter? I believe those who had a hand in him being hired as a spokesperson, should face some type of diciplinary actions and retraining.

    It just boggles the mind that he could so stupid. With his list of character flaws, if should have been nipped in the budd much earlier. Yet, he was awarded with a $75K job, unbelievable. It also should call to attention those who had a hand in hiring him. Those individuals should face some type of diciplinary action and retraining.

    does the missing Florida employment card or finger print card have a sign off line to show that a criminal background check has been compleated ? i was informed (from an insider) that in oregon dhs only 1-3 out of every 9 applicants are fully prosessed because of costs. and in oregon those records kept by CHILD SERVICES are kept from any outsiders veiw. So perhaps they are not missing,the but just missplaced 4 now.
