If the situation is not abated in the due time the country will face the history of Rwanda and Burundi repeated itself in Kenya. For this not to happen the people of Kenya should be aware of and come to unity against the interference of some developed nation. Colonization is camouflaging iself in the face of globalization, decentralization, free trade, good governance, other hectic words. I am not against globalization, decentralization, free trade, good governance, etc, but the way they are being implemented and progressing are not benefiting the developing countries as expected of them. We need to revise new ways and appraoches in a bid benefit the developing countries poor people. When you doing this poverty will be eliminated from the face of Africa and all people will be entitled to equtable life standards.------------

Sister Kate, for God's sake, if this girl succeeds in coming to the US, minister to her in a way meant to warn her against tribalisim, nepotism, and above all greed perpetrated by the love for money by some community in Kenya. You'll have to empasize to her the universal need to love our neighbors: same tribe/race or not, rich or poor, leearned or unlearned, etc. Love bears many good fruits, especially peace and unity. There will never be true peace and unity in Kenya unless Kenyans, especially Christians, love one another in Spirit and in Truth. It is a high time that we Christians stopped going against the need for us to "Love your neighbor as you love youself." I say this because some people in Kenya and many other places think they are and their neighbors are not. Is seems like they never heard of the Biblical story of poor Lazrus and the rich man. The rich man, on daily basis, let his dogs lick lazrus wounds. He never made an attemt to gress his wounds, live alone give him some bread and drink. By the end of the day, when they both died, Lazrus went to heaven and
the rich man went to hell. The rich men in Kenya rigged the elections at the expense of the poor voter. You get my point. And by the way: Allthose rapists will die of aids very soon. They just slowly and surely sentenced themselves to death. This is the same community that is notorious of not only raping women and children in Kenya; they or their brothers are known to do the same thing in the diaspora. That is why they have been forcing Kenyan women to wear skirts and not pants, if you aren't aware; an easy way of getting to what they want, especially in Naivasha. And the Kenyan govenment headed by a member of the tribe commiting these atorocities is doing nothing about it. May the Lord have mercy and protect these innocent women and children!

I pray every day for the people of Kenya. I know very little about this country. My daughter was anticipating the meeting of her college roommate who was to arrive here in the US from Kenya this January and she never showed up. There's not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think about this young girl and her family. I've never met any of them but how can you not think about them. My child is making strides with her personal, social, and academic growth, and this young girl the same age is struggling for life, her health, and the well-being of her own family. That's if she's even alive. We should never stop caring because at any time any thing is possible in our own back yards. How would you feel if any tragedy happened to you or your love ones and someone just gave excuses and didn't care? I can never understand the craziness behind anyone who rapes and murders but remember these sick people are everywhere.....we have them in the US too....just watch a little TV and you'll see. We've even had US men go into war and do crazy acts to woman and children. I ask why is there this lack of values and respect for women, children, and human beings? God pray for these people.

Carnabylane, I absolutely agree with you, and having said that, I believe you love Kenya from the bottom of your heart. I feel you and I pray that if you can pray, pray that God justly acts on these people: to punish the tribalists and their posterity and bless the nationalists and their posterity. I believe He (God) feels you, and He will here you. He has been watching and He is ready to act. Therefore please, pray for Kenya if you can.

Reading this brings to mind the speech that Kennedy gave in '61 at the Washington campus in Seattle - We must face the fact that the United States is neither omnipotent nor omniscient...there cannot be an American solution to every world problem. I do commend our government for stepping up and doing what we can, in all the places that we are trying to help bring peace and democracy. I feel the flag of the United States of America flies high and strong.

When Aficans rise up and start caring about their own people and stop acting like a bunch of savages I'll start caring about what happens. I'm not wasting my time and money on a bunch of murdering, raping uneducated thugs indulging in tribal warfare. They have a history of voting in idiots who care about only enriching themselves to run their countries from Idi Amin to Mugabe. Why should we waste our tax dollars on such corruption?

Just let the Kenyans kill each other until their batteries run out. Let them come to their senses. They are killing their own people not because of colour, race or religion , not even money. They are the same, they look the same and you can't diffrentiate between the one and the other. They just cannot tolerate themselves! So why waste time, money and energy to try to help them? Now, if the US wants the oil so badly because Iraq oil is now depleting, the US should just bribe the proper people and take out the oil as much and as soon as possible, eat the dog, cut the losses and get out!

Why are we spending time and resources on Africa? According to news reports there is an uncontainable AIDS epidemic, rape is as common as going to the bathroom, and democracy only works after the loosing candidates party has finished rioting and are killed or jailed. Nothing good comes from Africa and the U.S. does not belong there. Instead of blaming Western powers for not providing enough aid, where is the outcry for the men of the continent to act with a modicum of decency, compromise w/out killing each other, and spend time building infrastructure instead of killing each other over tribal discriminations. It is hard to care when nothing changes. I used to feel sorry for people that i heard died in conflicts in Africa, but now I feel they are better off that way. If the countries on the African continent can not tke care of the population they already have, why are we trying to keep as many people alive there as we can. It sounds like we are making problems worse by interfering. Perhaps if we stopped helping, there would be a population decrease from war, famine, and disease allowing the governments of Africa more breathing room to care for those it can. Just a Machiavellian suggestion. I know it is not morally right, but what is. Maybe it is time we stop trying to press democracy, women's rights, and our definition of freedom on people who don't want it or are unwilling to fight for it themselves.

Guys, stop wasting your time on this lady Ms. Frazier. She was up to no good when she came to Kenya and she is not to any good as we are speaking or writing iight now. If she cares, she only cares about someone that is "willing" to be used as a doormat against terrorism. That is what she sees in Kibaki, even though she knows very well that he miserably lost the election of December 27, 2007.

Jendayi Freazer is one of the corrupt lier us administration. Why did she not be honest about the whole situtation. it is true that the TFG in Somalia is not accepted by the Somali, it is true that all he killing was caused by the invasion of Ethiopia with the US support. It is also true that the US administration is doing more harm than good in the horn Africa or anywhere in the world for that matter.
Jendiya Frazer who is a lier fat ass scum bag tried to reverse the 2002 border ruling which the EBBC committer awarderd the disputed town of Badme to Eritrea but failed miserably. If the US administration and their puppets worked honestly, the horn would have been in a much much better shape than it is now. The US administration and Africom needs to get lost and stay where it belongs, out of Africa. The US has lost its credibility as a honest broker in the horn of Africa.

I share your hope, Surfael, however as long as this administration employs conduits like Jendayi Frazer, the "big picture" of African affairs will remain an afterthought to the American public. It is frustrating to see such kid glove responses to core questions here and elsewhere, while hardcore investigative reports into the private lives of pop singers continue to grace our front pages.

Why does the Ms.Frazer refrained from raising the real issue of attrocites committed in the Somali region of Ethiopia? perhaps I suspect there is an implicit support by the US administration to the Ethiopian army who are killing and starving ethnic somalis with impunity. The Ethiopian regime itself has got a covert blessing of the US adminstrtion when it rigged election and killed protesters in Addis and other cities in 2006?.The US policy towrds Africa shoud be genuine, sincere and principled. I hope the US ,will at last embrace the struggle of the African people against repressive and corrupt regimes.

Ataklt Abebe comment has hit the nail on the head. he has described what exactly is the problem. The root of the problems in almost all African countries is economic. Africans cannot build machines that they need to produce all the modern infrastructures needed to develop a viable economy. The aid they receive from Europe and America are not being used to build the economy or to help the citizens but are embezzled

Kenya was the symbol of peace and stability in the horn of Africa. But this stability could not last long as a result of the latest election results. Mwai Kibaki was promising his people that he was not going for the second term. Though, he was on the verge of being defeated, he unexpectedly regained life and declared that he is president of the republic of Kenya for the second term. The United States of America had suspicion of Raila Odinga that he might not cooperate with the USA in Terrorism that by any means may changed the result of the election. (I doubt).
What every body should be aware of is that the unrest in Kenya is not solely the result of the election, it has far reaching root cause in Kenya and other African Nations. The people in Kenya is living in abject poverty. The Wealth of the country is misused by some elite Kenyan and some transnation companies that emerged in the neo-liberal era. The people of Kenya are living in a twilight zones (Dirty residential houses) and have meagre sources of income to lead their life. All the economic sources of the country is being at the hands of those elite Kenyan and those transnational companies. As a result no employment generation as more than half of the revenue of the country is going out side the country leaving behind destitute and unemployed people in the country side of Kenya.
If the situation is not abated in the due time the country will face the history of Rwanda and Burundi repeated itself in Kenya. For this not to happen the people of Kenya should be aware of and come to unity against the interference of some developed nation.
