You're an idiot. You are just another distraction from the real issues, like those presented for discussion by Dr. Paul. If it wasn't for him our eyes would still be drawn away by you in the MSM. Like today, with that retarted Roger Clemens on every news channel while the House debates giving amnesty to the telephone companies that helped Bush spy on citizens with warrantless wiretaps and brush aside the FISA court. And they want to extend that power... we need to stop them. Write your congress-persion.

Bite me Newsweek Your nothing but a bunch of IMPERIALIST FASCIST SCUM WHO REPORTS NOTHING BUT LIES. Where on to you so go away. For your reading pleasure Newsweek
??? House votes to prohibit funds for the SPP: Showing just how much citizen opposition to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) aspect of the NAU merger process is being expressed to Congress, consider that on July 24 the U.S. House of Representatives cast an historic first vote to restrict funding for the SPP. The House overwhelmingly approved an amendment to the Department of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill for 2008 (H.R. 3074) ???prohibiting the use of funds to participate in a working group pursuant to the Security and Prosperity Partnership??? by a vote of 362 to 63.

??? Eighteen state legislatures consider anti-NAU resolutions: Another impressive sign of hope in 2007 has been the significant degree of success in the campaign to block the NAU through state resolutions launched by the John Birch Society in late 2006. This campaign is based on a model anti-NAU resolution, available online, for state legislatures to adopt, asking Congress to block the NAU. As can be seen in the accompanying U.S. map, anti-NAU resolutions were introduced in 18 state legislatures. In three states, both houses passed their anti-NAU resolution. In two additional states, one house passed such a resolution. With 44 states having legislative sessions in 2008, this campaign will continue next year. One new wrinkle is that a Repeal NAFTA model resolution for state legislatures has now been published online by the Birch Society. Both the anti-NAU and anti-NAFTA model resolutions and related information can be found at www.JBS.org/freedom.

How ignorant are our American media corporations? They continue to misrepresent the only candidate in this election who would protect their 1st ammendment rights. What will the media do, what deals have they made to continue to spout their lies after the United States falls further into the fascist practices currently in place in our government and proposed by the "front runners" in the 2008 presidential campaign. So, the above article represents the "dirt" they could dig up on Ron Paul. Well, that's exceptionally clean dirt for a man who has served as a Representative for 10 terms. In fact it's not "dirt at all, it's media lies! Maybe it's because Ron Paul speaks the truth. How shallow and illusory do you (Newsweek) think are American citizen's devotions to their country? You picked a bad time to side with those currently in power, because their grip is failing and their sham politics are weak. The people of America are waking up from a long slumber and the good doctor, Dr. Paul, is there at their bed side working tirelessly to heal the wounds they have sustained at the hands of greedy politicians and terrible policy. Thanks for showing your true colors Newsweek, you're manipulable and corrupt. Now weve got more fuel to power the Revolution. VOTE RON PAUL!

Joe Miller must think we're ignorant. All you have to do is visit the KC Smart Port website. http://www.kcsmartport.com . Here's a little information copied right from the site.

"Located in the heart of America at the hub of the transcontinental and NAFTA trade corridors, Kansas City is a center of choice for warehousing, manufacturing and distribution. Business has prospered due in large part to the region's abundant, multi-modal transportation network.

Kansas City boasts more freeway-lane miles per capita than any other U.S. city. As one of only five U.S. cities in which three interstates intersect, soon to be four interstates, the region also is a prime player in the emerging international trade corridor providing for the efficient flow of goods across America and between the United States, Mexico and Canada."

How much more blatant is that Miller? Just so you know the Ron Paul Revolution is just getting started. You and the rest of the media may have won the first battle by your blatant blackout of Ron Paul and keeping the Truth from the American people but in the end we will win the battle.

Mark this as the beginning of the end for people like you in this Country. Maybe we'll just deport you and the rest of the media scum and keep the good illegals here instead. Sounds like a much more desirable compromise to me and I think America would be better for it.

Given that this research is basically a point of view versus ture errors or lies, I'd say that you've done a gret job of showing that Rep Paul is probably one of the most honest politicians we have. And since he stands strong for the US against massive odds, now and in the past, he is our BEST candidate for President! K Johnson, Metro Denver CO

LOL, very nice. NEWSWEEK well done. You have totally convinced me that we don't need to worry about a North American Union. This article has totally convinced me that we could not save a boatload of cash, taxpayer money, by getting out of the empire business around the world. Oh the Reagan comment just shows a level of contempt for a candidate that leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, but, like you said, NEWSWEEK hadn't really gotten around to pointing out the many flaws (all 3 of them according to this article)of a candidate like Paul. However, has he voted for a tax hike in his career? Does he want to allow the countries around the world to fix their own problems without being supported, financially and militarily, by the United States taxpayer? Has Paul received a fair shake from the Main Stream Media? By the way, any Conservative who looks at the Reagan presidency and sees only the great is simply not taking in the entire 8 years of his time in office. Reagan was a good president and he made the country feel great about itself, but to think that his time in office was a rousing success from the viewpoint of a fiscal conservative would be a mistake. Thanks for the article though, I can't wait for the next addition ( I mean with all the flaws on Paul's part there must be a next addition right? right?)

Joe Miller really goes out on a limb on this one. Maybe he's trying to add his own spark to Newsweek to save his declining career.

  • Posted By: firstade86 @ 02/13/2008 4:26:27 PM

Wow, Joe Miller really shoots the moon on this one. Maybe its because of his declining career that he's trying to add his own "spark" to Newsweek.

So this is the "dirt" that you can dig up on Ron Paul. What a pathetic group you are. Why not go and highlight the complete inconsistencies that John McCain spouts from minute to minute and from year to year in his unabashedly principleless campaigns. Or note that Hillary Clinton and company are suspect in numerous financial scandals and questionable political practices. Why not report the truth. NAFTA is a dagger in America's heart as is the CFR, the Federal Reserve, and the main stream media's complete subordination to the "powers that be". Report the truth that Ron Paul still supports the same statements he has always made because he has spoken honestly. I think the backlash to Paul from the media is that you can't stand the taste or sound of a REAL politician - truth, concern for the citizenry, and following the tennants of the Constitution. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the more the media backs the "front runners" in this race the tighter they seal our coffin as free speaking and free living citizens. If this is the support the American people get from their media, well...then it's no support at all. VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

Imagine Newsweek offering anything more than an opinion piece and calling it "Factcheck".

Interesting that this article comes shortly after Canada took the NAFTA superhighway picture off their website.

Regarding foreign spending: we wouldn't have terrorists coming to blow us up if we weren't killing people in their countries.

Comment: Thanks for the clairifacation. We now know there are no subversive groups. The CFR must be the council on friendly relations, The Bilderbergs must be a construction company. The Trilateral comission must be a pyramid scheme. We know the SPP is all about prosperty. Doctor Paul and I can both sleep well tonight knowing Newsweek is watching our back.

What's pathetic about this article is how inaccurate the sources are. Quoting the other mainstream media corporations in this country is hardly what I call fact, more like fantasy. Paul aligned himself to Reagen's politics but he always admitted they had differences. Its the same as someone running for VP that has some disagreements with the Presidential candidate. I've even aligned myself with Bush's first candidacy but his actions did not follow his policies of 2000. The super highway IS being built, you can see it on Google Earth wonder boy! There have been several meetings between Bush and the leaders of Mexico & Canada where they discussed the alliance of the 3 countries(none of which was released to the media). Canadian & Mexican officials have admitted this but Bush denies it so you believe Bush, NICE! The same man who was involved in the minting process for these new quarters also admitted to designing print for currency called the "Amero". Do you just hate finding real facts or are the lobbyists paying you to bash Ron Paul just like the other MSM? I laugh at this article!

Just as a lawyer has a purpose, serves a function, has a moral obligation to represent his/her client, the media has a similar relationship with the public in protecting its interests. In fact, a lawyer takes an oath to serve his client's interests, and if that oath is violated, the lawyer can be held legally accountable. Journalists like Joe Miller and their editors who allow blatantly inaccurate information to be published for politically driven purposes should also be held legally accountable. Your function in a democratic society is to report candidly on all sides of an issue. Please do not think you are doing that by reporting the side of your organization's political interests and then skewing the side of your opponent's. I do not see this listed as an opinion piece, so being the journalist, you shouldn't have any opponent. I'm sure you understand your function, however, perhaps you do not understand the damage you cause by inspiring people to disbelieve truths rather than question what they're told. It is everyone's job to question the actions of the government and hold it accountable for abuses of power. It is your job, your duty as a journalist, your function in society to
do precisely this. So, instead of betraying your job, your duty, your function, and yourself, because you are the one who decided to spend your time and energy becoming a journalist, fulfill your purpose, your function in society and honor your oath to serve the public and represent public interest. If Newsweek is pressuring you print misrepresentations of the truth, is your duty to find a new job and make the truth about Newsweek known. Don't sell yourself out for money.

Here are links disproving your blatantly false categorization of the North American Union and NAFTA superhighway as "conspiracy theories".

    CNN REPORTING ON NAFTA SUPERHIGHWAY:

    Texas Legislature and NAFTA superhighway

Ten minutes of internet research and I was able to find two states and federal government officials making resolutions to protect citizens from the creation of a NAFTA superhighway. Why would federal and state governments be working to protect citizens from an "unreal conspiracy?"

Joe Miller and Newsweek are sellout swine

The CFR must be the council on friendly relations. The bilderbergs must be a construction company; the Trilateral a pyramid scheme. The SPP must be the society preventing poverty. Thanks for letting us know there are no conspiracies. It's good to know our currency is as sound as the reports we get from Newsweek

  • Posted By: mogey @ 02/13/2008 3:45:50 PM

So as far as his truthiness goes, You are calling him on not breaking down the expenditures of our overseas/domestic endeavors in the 30-90 seconds he generally gets per question in the debates? I would find it hard to tell someone what I did in the past week in 90 seconds to be honest. Not to mention the fact that I have never seen more than 5 questions asked of Dr Paul in any widely televised debate.
