If what the American people are trying to say by voting for, a "party" or a "person" is that they've been duped by the media to believe that's all that our country stands for, then we may fall as Rome did so many years ago. So, I guess what you're really saying Joe is the American public can just ignore the signs of our times in what the government nationally and locally are doing. Just keep watching Monday Night Football and listening to your IPOD, etc., etc and pay no attention to the fact that you'll have to show your new driver's license (national ID card) at the border between our "United States" to go on vacation or see the folks back home. Pay no attention to states petitioning to secede from our "Union" or our domestic banks allying with foreign banks for "hand-outs" and help with our credit crash (see Bank of America and Citibank's latest moves). Pay no attention to the fact that the "War on Drugs" hasn't been won in over 30 years here at home...AND WE WERE ONCE TOUTED A SUPERpower. No Joe, I'm not swallowing your pill of opinion either. The American people are NOT STUPID, we may be mentally lazy at times, but while we're playing we've still got one ear cocked and we're listening. As long as Ron Paul is speaking and working on OUR behalf, we'll be listening.

    Thank you.

This article is GREAT...you really had to take your time with this, didn't you? But hey, Joe, you may want to pick up a copy of the "Four Arguments Against Watching Television" before you begin refuting a seasoned politician who's reputation in Washington precedes him as an honest man whose integrity in defending the American people by holding up the U.S. Constitution in their defense is second to none.

I believe you're watching way too much FOX, MSNBC, NY/LA Times or Warner-owned anything, etc. Perhaps you could pay a little attention to Ron Paul's many statements in Congress about our foreign policies since the 1980's. He's not trying to paint a paranoid picture of the American future, he's simply pointing out the obvious conclusion to a very well laid plan (again, see Congressional recorded statements, bills introduced, laws passed, etc.) that the American people seem to have had nothing to do with in the way of representation. But, it does appear, that our "representatives" in Congress do not reflect the people's popular view as is evidenced over and over in our resentment of not only our government's involvement in THIS war, but in many, many wars from our very recent past. It appears that not only our "representatives," but you, Joe are not learning from our history of mistakes.

Ask our veterans or the mother's of our slain Americans how they feel about unilateral decision-making on the part of our President to commit aggression around the globe. THERE will be a body of information you can use in your next article about who's defending our interests at home and globally. The only candidate currently in opposition to the idea of solving our conflicts with "first aggression, then democracy" is Ron Paul. The only candidate who's even remotely interested in solving our domestic problems (i.e., the AMERICAN currency issue, the AMERICAN economic issues, the AMERICAN soverignty issues...and the beat goes on...) which will serve to benefit ALL AMERICANS (not just women, people of color, race, age, educational and social differences) and steer our country away from it???s path to demise, with the breastplate of the U.S. Constitution against all those who would threaten us, is Ron Paul. Whether the threat be from without or within, Ron Paul has pledged to use the U.S. Constitution as his guide for America. Our Constitution is a tried and true document that, if followed, ensures the freedom and liberties for ALL American citizens. America once stood strong in the face of it???s allies and enemies because of our willingness to hold up the U.S. Constitution against tyranny and oppression. The issues of social welfare and healthcare, our economy, education, public services, immigration, ecology and foreign policy are all addressed within the words of the U.S. Constitution.

    To be continued...(just because)

Thanks lads for your youtube posts. This is the exact segment I was referring to in my original post. Mr. golffanatic777, if your "moron" comment was directed at me, I accept the charge as I acknowledge that I am a neophyte on all things political! lol. At any rate, to my original trilemma about Mr. Dobbs (see posts below.). Thoughts?

Ron Paul On Lou Dobbs About NAU Super Highway Feb.19.2008

    READ: Cintra http://www.cintra.es/
You guys, CNN, are full of proverbial boloney. You can write manure about Ron Paul, but we know what's really going on, and THAT, my friend, is why he's really a severe threat to the folks that are trying so bloody hard to destroy this country (and doing quite well, I might add.

Question for Mr.Joe Miiler: What do you make of your colleague Lou Dobbs over at CNN? He/CNN, posed a germane question on their live19 FEB 2008 election night coverage (as well as on their website http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/lou.dobbs.tonight/) ---
    "Quick Vote
Do you believe the presidential candidates in both parties should be required to take a position on the North American Union and the NAFTA Superhighway?
    Yes 97% 7649
    No 3% 201
    Total Votes: 7850

This is not a scientific poll"

Is this just shameless promotion of his new book and exploitation of the Ron Paul supporters' seemingly deep pockets? Or is he too wrong on his elucidations on NAFTA, a "super highway." and national sovereignty?

    Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.

I'm glad there arent many people like wiseacre33 around...what's wrong with a FOREIGN company owning our highways? Are you that stupid? It's no different than the Arabs trying to purchase our seaports, or the Chinese making property grabs. This wont be the America you know once it belongs to every other friggin country in the world. Cintra will also be able to charge what they want for YOU to use an AMERICAN highway...see the problem now? Other countries telling YOU Wiseacre33 what to do on American soil.

You know, I am frustrated with the coverage of Ron Paul. Why is everyone concerned about Ron Paul's support of the Constitution? Is it because they believe that humans can't make smart individual decisions? Do they believe that Big Brother knows best? That immigrants should be banned from coming to this country? Ron Paul believes in increased trade with all countries around the world. He believes in increased immigration with secured borders. He believes that most of the trade imbalance would be repaired by bringing all of our troops home. He would then use these same troops to secure our borders. He would increase immigrant quotas and simplify immigrant applications. These stands are Un-American? They are isolationist? They are Anti-American? Not from My point of view.

Newsweek is, as usual, putrid. Newsweek it's taking it's orders from the Council on Foreign Relations which absolutely LOVES globalism. Unfortunately for rags like Newsweek, it's subscriptions are down because the public is tired of this kind of 'One World' potage.

Ron Paul may have some details wrong, but the overall warning about weakening our national sovereignty is accurate. As far as the major media and 'fact checking' goes????? I seem to recall some 'run with it' journalism in the last national election. The major media just rolled over and let it slide. The major media needs to realize that they have lost their credibility as far as factual reporting goes.

Here is a quote from Cintras page.
"the company has over 35 years' experience and presently manages 23 toll highways in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Chile, Canada and USA with more than 2,800 kilometres, and a total investment over 16.5 billion euro. In the United States, Cintra is strategic partner of the State of Texas in the design and planning of the Trans-Texas Corridor one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the country.

Do Newsweek reporters actually do ANY research first?

  • Posted By: dmers @ 02/18/2008 8:35:04 PM

You are so wrong about the super highway! Cintra http://www.cintra.es/ is the company buying and making highways in the US under Spanish control. Its on THEIR own website! No, Im not a supporter of any of the lousy choices this election.

I am resident of the state of Texas and not a Ron Paul supporter. However you are dead wrong about the so called "Super Highway". Just type in a web search on the Trans Texas Corridor or TTC-69 or Trans Texas Corridor I-69 (TTC 69) and see what comes up. This is a monstrosity. It is a slap in the face to the people of Texas. What a lovely thing our governor has done for us. BTW you can also check the website impeachperry.indytexans.org/ and read more about this monster and the creep that is trying to shove it down our throats.

I have read Ron Paul's articles for many years. I think he would be a great president. His platform is the US Constitiution, as it was intended by the guys who wrote it. He has always tried to work for the American taxpayer, instead of the globalist special interests. He is a true patriotic leader. Here in Michigan we are losing many factories and jobs to NAFTA and other predatory free-trade deals. We need leaders who will actually work for the American taxpayer and comply with our Constitution.

Ron Paul has written many articles over the years. They turn out to be factual in his predictions and his objections to the globalists actions like the no-win wars and NAFTA. Here in Michigan, we have lost many factories and tens of thousands of jobs to NAFTA and Red China. Paul is the only one trying to help fix the problem.
