    Lies, Lies, and more Lies. Ron Paul never called the North American Union or the SPP a "secret conspiracy". He has correctly attacked these measures as threats to our sovereignty.
    Ron Paul never claimed a dollar for dollar savings from winding down our far-flung empire. The cost of maintaining this monstrosity is truly beyond measure.

    "We've given his statements little attention until now." ". . . his national poll numbers hover consistently just above the margin of error." Perhaps one day some will inquire about the extent to which the former fact (where "we" stands for the majority of MSM pundits) accounts for the latter, that is, to what degree the MSM's power to focus on or marginalize a candidate influences (not determines) voters' awareness of him or her. If you're just not aware, except intermittently, about someone, it doesn't even occur to you to vote for or against him. The MSM's role in this election has been, as far they could, make the news, and yet look at how many candidates to whom they gave such free publicity are no longer running. Why is Ron Paul's ability to stay in the race -- which still has nine months to go -- not a reason for admiration rather than derision? Everyone of the questions in this hit piece has been answered by Paul. Why not ask him again? Or is it more important to "debate" who's for or against timetables for withdrawal from Iraq?

    Dr. Paul's own Texas district voted him in for 10 terms! That says a lot about the things he represents! It's simple. Freedom! Even McCain himself said that Paul was the most honest man in Congress!

    Well, finally an article in the national media about Dr. Ron Paul. No or little mention of his life. Doctor, veteran, 10 term U.S. Congressman, married 51 years to the same woman, No mention of the endorsements made from those in economics and academia. Hardly any mention of the culture that has sprung up around the American message of freedom which originates from the American constitution. Music, radio stations and programsprograms

    Who pays your salary Mr. Miller? How closely affiliated are they with the Saudi's and/or China? This piece is absurd.

    I wonder how well Dr. Paul would have done had your rag actually discussed meaningful points the revolution has come to represent. Civil liberties, peace, empire, crushing taxation, loss of the dollar's status, the "WAR", the government's disregard for the constitution, our need to have military bases in 2/3 of the world's countries, our debt and the need to beg from our enemies in Saudi Arabia and China. To nit pick at this point over the issues you chose strongly suggests another motive. I think, like the rest of the corporate owned journalists, you are but a tool to help continue a very successful policy to rest any remaining power from the middle class and the poor. The behavior of the MSM has been very telling and very obvious when it comes to the coverage given Ron Paul. I think 10% of the TV zombies woke up and your boss, who stands behind you looking over your shoulder and grasping your privates, is concerned. Is RP perfect? No. Hell most of his followers agree on only a few of the issues he represents, but what we have in common is we can feel the vise that the mega-corps and government have so dishonestly slipped around our necks., and we know we are being lied to and set up for a terrible fall. We love America and want to save it.

    Joe,
    I am glad I don???t read Newsweek if this is the kind of stuff you write. What a propaganda piece. You really had to reach to find something wrong with Dr. Paul. No mention of the hundred great things he has done for this country. You know like following the Constitution and reminding all of us that it is written to protect us from Government power. Yes, talking about Liberty, Personal Privacy and Personal Property Rights are not worth mentioning. I think my fellow Patriots have already done a good job of pointing out the inconsistency in your article. And frankly Joe if we don???t instill some of Ron Paul???s ideas very soon our country is in serious trouble, we only seek to improve and restore our Republic so our kids can experience the American dream. And furthermore, these ideas of his are those of the founding fathers, men who lived two hundred years ago but are much smarter than all of us. Well Joe you are great at twisting facts and writing hit pieces, but sir you are no Journalist and are part of the problem in this country. This Revolution is permanent it is going to go on with or without Ron Paul.

    You admit to ignoring the most searched subject on your site. You have now misled your readers about that subject. You may want to rethink this business strategy.

    "...Ron Paul doesn't have much of a chance of winning the Republican nomination ...We've given his statements little attention until now ..."

    Well....that pretty well explains the whole problem, now, does it not ??
    ==================
    Well...if it's a real conspiracy...*why* is there a web-site with all of the info (http://www.spp.gov/) and why did the Texas State Legislature propose a measure to STOP IT !!
    ============
    "...Paul has run television ads touting an endorsement from Ronald Reagan, but he fails to mention that, in 1988, Paul wanted "to totally disassociate" himself from the Reagan administration...."But none of your staff wants to spend any time to explain, nor understand, WHY That happened ??
    ========

    That's it....I'm done.....You're all idiots that at Gnusweek....
    Go on, sitck your heads back under those rocks and wait for the remainder of the world to collapse around you.
    ..and change your motto to:

    "IF IT HAPPENS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD .. ..IT'S NEWS TO US "

    Ron Paul has my vote and support. This Ron Paul Revolution is bigger than you all realize. His campaign continues to grow despite no free media coverage which has been given to the other so-called front runners, so what does that tell you people in the media? Where is Giuliani, Thompson, Hunter, Tancredo, and Romney? Those characters are out of the race and were touted by the media as frontrunners, now that was the biggest joke from the old main stream media. What the media fails to realize is that we do not need them or their lies to make our candidate viable and supported by Conservative Republican ex-military individuals like me.

    Author Joe Milller Gets Fact Checked:

    Anyone trying to attack Dr. Paul always brings up conpiracy bull. He only talks about that stuff when thats the only question they ask him at the debate (look to CNN / youtube debate). Otherwise hes talking about economic policy or the war in Iraq both of which no republican will touch. Go to his OFFICIAL webpage Joe and not to places like Snopes.com to get your info(Snopes.com is quoted as a reference)

    1. Dr. Pauls OFFICIAL Webpage shows the issues he is really concerned with....Economic Policy, War in Iraq, the welfare state and Immigration.

    2. Our country is going into ressession (acording to most economic forecasters....not conspiracy people) and Ron Paul is the only one who lays down strict plans and ways out of ressession. In JOE MILLERS list he says R.P. cuts include a list of things that include 92% of the intrest on the deficit like its a bad thing...Who the hell is this author.

    3. JOE MILLER quotes "The daily Paul" which is not an official Webpage for Ron Paul but doesnt quote from Ron Pauls official webpage

    4. JOE MILLER references www.snopes.com which is a self proclaimed "gossip" search page....WHAT KIND OF JOURNALISM IS THIS.

    5. JOE MILLER says that Newsweek has left Ron Paul "unchecked" until now but he references a Newsweek article called "Highway to Hell" that is another Ron Paul article that portrays him as a kook when talking about the NAFTA highway.

    You just got Fact Checked Joe...
    Enjoy the next 4-8 years in a failing economy. Luxuries like buying rags like Newsweek are the first things to be cut from consumers budget.

    This article doesn't even contain facts! Wow! Also, what is this? A hit piece on dailypaul.com?? dailypaul.com is NOT officially endorsed by the campaign! This so called "journalist" sat and read a forum for facts? So newsweek reports facts from online forums now! Great job! You can now compete with The Onion! Except your not funny. Lame!

    Amazing. Here is a man, a true statesman of our time, and you choose to demean him. Show me another politician who has remained so consistent in his voting record and integrity for 20+ years, one who has shown marital fidelity for 51 years, etc.

    How incredibly pathetic and low Newsweek must dip to even call such a piece "journalism." It's obvious from Ron Paul's speeches and writings who he works for (the People), just as it is obvious who Joe Miller and Newsweek work for (corporate interests). How very sad. It reminds me of a quote from George Washington, "Few men have virtue enough to withstand the highest bidder." Obviously Ron Paul holds that kind of integrity and virtue while Newsweek does not.

  • Posted By: jpfromtall @ 02/13/2008 11:07:34 AM

    Ron should take this article as a compliment. NAFTA Highway? Saying $1 trillion instead of $700 billion? Daring to criticize anything Reagan did? That's what's wrong with him? Puhleeezzzeee....

    Here's a WRONG for you: John McCain saying that any American can stroll Baghdad like a tourist. Or that Patreaus rides around waving at his minions in an unarmored Humvee. Or how he now says that he was once a "foot-soldier" (whatever that means) in Reagan's coalition.

    Or how about Huckabee saying he had a theology degree? That one was a whopper. And by the way if the idea of an NAU is complete myth then somebody should tell the people at Worldnet Daily.com.

    Because of this obvious smear, I will NEVER, EVER buy a Newsweek again.. Congratulations.

    Fact Check? It is clear Joe Miller is part of the new "TASS" (for you younger voters this was the old Soviet News Agency that printed everything but the truth. Where was Newsweek asking the Democrats (my OLD party of choice) why they didn't follow up their control of the Congress with the big investigation of illegality of the Iraq invsion they promised? You want to hear the truth on Iraq: Go hear the testimony of the half Jewish-half Iraqi American Doctor to the Congressional Progressive Comittee at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELjgVq6GtPA. YOU MUST HEAR THIS. This country does not take care of its own; and where is Newsweek's "journalism" of the reasons behind that. Up to a short time ago, Journalists used to help inform the people and help them guide THEIR government. Now Newsweek is part of the propaganda dissemination machine. Joe Miller, people are waking up to the motivations behind you and the monies behind you that bring your rag to press. There will no longer be a copy on Newsweek in our waiting area

    Writer Joe Miller and Newsweek Magazine are hereby invited to assist in the RICO investigation of ABC, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, CBS, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald and The San Diego Herald-Tribune, in perpetrating criminal fraud (via omissions, distortions and outright lies) and a deliberate censorship of Dr. Ron Paul in 2008 Presidential race.

    Or, failing to be of assistance in the investigation, Miller and Newsweek are to be named as a felony coconspirators in RICO suit:

    Amazing. Here is a true statesman in our political system, one with a consistent voting record of 20 years, showing he lives his walk of fidelity by his marriage of now 51 years, and you choose to demean the man.

    How pathetically low has Newsweek now dipped in order to just "sell" a story (and your souls while you're at it)? I know who Ron Paul works for (the People), and it's obvious who Joe Miller and Newsweek works for as well (corporate interests). How sad that American journalism has sunk to this level.

    This article is a swing, and a miss. It is totally devoid of any realistic or meaningful discussion of our country's foreign and economic policies, which are the centerpieces of Paul's campaign. You can nit pick the guy to death on the highway and spending amounts but in the process you completely ignore the merits of his proposals to promote freedom, defense, a sound economy, and less government intrusion into our lives. You not only missed the boat - but the ocean.
