Wow- you are such a pawn!
Are you the best Newsweek can hire? I am sad you bent over that far for your editor.

Okay, so your main gripes with Dr. Paul are his stance on NAFTA and the potential NAU, the dollar figure he attaches to our foreign policy, his relationship with President Reagan, and ONE flawed piece of logic from ONE Ron Paul support site...
...Dr. Paul's stance on NAFTA and the NAU are that they are IDEAS that have been discussed by high ranking officials. They have never been proposed to congress or the president. That doesn't mean that some people don't want it to happen.
Okay so maybe our foreign policy doesn't amount to $1 trillion. We still are an empire. We still are overextended. We still have bases in 130 countries at over 700 bases. We still meddle in the internal affairs of any country giving a damn. Dr. Paul's message is that this needs to stop. I agree.
You really have a problem with Dr. Paul's change of stance on Ronald Reagan? Something that has nothing to do with policy or issues? Pathetic.
Using the same logic... you can't assume every Ron Paul supporter believes he is right just because one website made that claim.
Newsweek, this is a terribly slanted and erroneous piece. This kind of sloppy journalism is why I quit reading Newsweek years ago. Paul has some weaknesses, as do all the candidates. But he alos has some strong policy positions. I wonder if Newsweek is just trying to generate site traffic with this hatchet job.
Newsweek, this is just the kind of slanted, sloppy, reporting that caused me to cancel my subscription years ago.. While Paul may have weaknesses, he also has policy strengths. I wonder if Newsweek is just looking for site traffic and is stirring up trouble?
The Security and Prosperity Partnership isn't a secret conspiracy. Basic journalism skills would have brought you directly to www.spp.gov
I think Joe Miller should listen to Ron Paul in addition to reading what the pundits report. Then at least he has information from both sides. Of course that doesn't guarantee he would report the good Doctor's point of view. The "conspiracy" of a North America Union or the "Superhighway" are not X-files type stories. The fact that Texas is looking at a "Superhighway" across the state and we have government agencies working on removing "virtual" borders with Mexico and Canada are possible indications of an eroding of our almost non-existent borders. Once again, Dr. Paul's message is misunderstood. As always, he asks you to look to the Constitution and the Sovereignty of this nation it was written to protect. If Sovereignty is no longer a necessity, then amend the Constitution, don't just ignore it. The 1 billion in savings we could obtain through eliminating our current foreign policy also includes the millions of dollars our service men and women are spending in foreign countries, that they would be spending here. So, it's a double wnammy for our economy. Finally, using the DailyPaul as the gospel of Ron Paul is no different than all the opinion pieces written in the MSM. People are passionate about the leaders they believe in and will look for justification to continue believing. But Dr. Paul has said on many occasions; this "Revolution" is not about him. He is fortunate enough to be the one chosen to guide it. The hope of Dr. Paul and his avid followers is that no matter what happens this November, that the seeds for Freedom, Liberty, and Prosperity have been planted. It is up to us to nurture them to turn our great Nation back to the intent of the Founding Fathers; limited government, a humble foreign policy, and liberty and freedom for all.

Bye bye Newsweek!
Bye bye Newsweek!
It's idiotic and misinforming articles like this that made me cancel my subscription to Newsweek many years ago.
They should call this B*LL SH*T week instead. Joe Miller, you really show your ingnorance.
The press continues to miss the point. The US system is on it's way out and there are definite plans to destroy our country as we know it. Too bad these guys are so much a part of the misinformation campaign. Joe Miller doesn't realize that his kids and grand kids will be paying the price for his stupidity and will be unable to explain it to them when he's old and grey. Joe, you should get a clue and see that for the last 100 years or more the US populace has been lied to and decieved and you are a part of the problem. In my 48 years of existence on the planet I have seen only "ONE" politician that is HONEST and with INTERGRITY. That man is RON PAUL.
You've done it! You've totally analyzed the most important parts of the Ron Paul campaign! Now, I can rest assured knowing everything Ron Paul says is an ignorant lie.
...Sarcasm.
Rather than trying to desperately find some sort of exaggerated error in Ron Paul's reasoning, why don't you focus on more important issues, and the much greater fallacies of the candidate's views on them?
Like... how "they" only attack us because they hate our freedoms?
Or how intervening in other countries makes us "safer"?
Or how torture and invasion of privacy is morally justified?
Or that we can survive economically as a welfare state?
Or how maintaining status quo will allow us to continue our ignorance in the 21st-Century world?
After all, as a journalist, I'm sure you would expect "fair and balanced" discussion of every candidate.
I wanted to correct the url from my earlier post, which I hope everyone will read. The url is www.spp.gov. It's a government website. It's huge. They try to snowball you with so much fluff you can't possibly read it all while at the same time, the propagandists in the media, like Joe Miller, will tell you that the NAFTA Superhighway is a myth. Read my earlier post. They want to take my home here in Waller, Texas for their NAFTA Superhighway. The Trans Texas Corridor is the southern leg of the NAFTA Superhighway and the TxDot officials stated unequivocally that the swath of land they want to take is FIVE MILES WIDE. Google NASCA, TxDot Trans Texas Corridor, TURF, Corridor Watch, and see for yourself. Especially look at the maps on the NASCO site. See if you are in the path of this thing. If your state is north of Texas and you live anywhere in the middle of it, you are probably going to be paved. Also, there are 8 other corridors planned in other parts of the country. NASCO insists they only want to "improve existing trade corridors". There is NO EXISTING TRADE CORRIDOR THROUGH MY HOME!
Gee whiz Ron Paul says he can save us a trillion dollars in overseas spending but Newsweek has discovered it's only half a trillion. Let's throw out the whole idea out.
Hillary/Obama/McCain say there economic plans will only cost us half a trillion dollars but the naive and trusting American taxpayer finds out later it actually costs them a trillion dollars.
Why did you wait until RP was totally annihilated before you decided to run an article refuting his claims?
Wow, I sure see a lot of supportive comments on this work of fiction. (Note: saracasm, for those, ie, you, who just don't get it) Fantastic job there. I, too, will not be renewing my subscription. Way to go being part of the problem, not the solution.
I would seriously be ashamed to have my name, Joe Miller, attached to such a trash piece of "journalism". Pure propaganda hit piece! People - wake up! Educate yourself on the North American Union with Mexico & Canada...try starting with the Council on Foreign Relations own book entitled "Building a North American Community" found here: http://www.cfr.org/publication/8102/
Or this on CNBC re: the Amero : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hiPrsc9g98
Or: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T74VA3xU0EA
Amen.
Is this an op-ed piece? I was hopping for at least a little analysis of Ron Paul's ideas of freedom, smaller government, and peace. Why are the people at Newsweek afraid to discuss his main ideas? What is wrong with a discussion of a constitutional government?
Wow. Nice hack job Joe. Why did you expend so much energy on a candidate who is "outllandish" and doesn't have a chance of winning? Make sure you wash your hands after all that smearing. Bye bye Newseek subscription.
