    Hey, Joe,

Why don't you talk about something more central to Dr Paul's campaign- as in the printing off of our currency until it's worthless? But keep doing what your publisher insists you do, slam the only person willing to talk about the decrepit situation of our citizens. You can make your foolish case now, but you better have hold of something precious when the folks paying you no longer want the spin you're spinning.

To anyone interested in proving what a "kook" Paul is, just go ahead and read through the comments below. You'll be more than convinced of deplorable bias from Newsweek magazine.

Oh and by the way: go to the Federal Elections Commission website. There you'll see that Paul has raised more than twice the amount of money than any other candidate from the armed forces.

Paul is the one anyone can count on to truly bring our troops home, his integral voting record proves it.

THEY are the ones getting shot at in the war zone, and THEY are trying to get Paul elected. This tells you exactly how Newsweek feels about our men & women in the service.

"America is not at war; America's MILITARY is at war. America is at the mall."

... where you can easily find this month's Newsweek.

Fact: Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox said on Larry King Live that he had been planning the Amero with Bush for sometime: http://youtube.com/watch?v=gYGrn0hZlCQ

Fact: US department of transportation considering the program to open the borders "wide Open" according to this CNN report: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MBmFrYWPoG8

Another CNN discussion of the SPP's plan described as "Nafta on Steriods"

Why would Joe say that the Nafta superhighway is a dismissable conspiracy theory if it is on MAIN STREAM CNN News? Is it to silence the dissent?

You are all sharp enough to see that Joe is either a bought and paid for disinfo shill, or he just doesn't fact check.

Am I wrong along with Paul or is Joe Miller a disinfo shill?

Why not "fact-check" two of the main issues of Ron Paul's campaign- the Iraq operation and the economy? Why not "fact-check" whether he is correct when he says the US invasion of Iraq was unconstitutional because Congress did not declare war? Why not "fact-check" if he's right to say there has NEVER been a connection between the 9-11 attacks (Al-Qaeda) and Iraq? Why not "fact-check" his presumption that the present economic system is only leading our country into bankruptcy, with the elites ultimately reaping all the benefits. Why not "fact-check" issues that the American people, rightfully so, are most concerned about? Why would a media organization choose to focus on relatively obscure portions of a candidate's campaign that can be easily argued since... as noted before, they are relatively obscure, while ignoring the issues that are of most impact to the future of our republic? Shame on you for your pathetic "reporting". It's a sad day when sensationalism is presented as journalism.

Nice hit piece. I love how the so-called "conspiracy theories" that loned crazies espouse for some reason always need professional debunking.

Where's your soul, you loathsome cur? Your paper is a joke that would be hilarious if the situation were not so serious.

I am guessing it kinda sucks to be Joey Miller right now. A young, very new writer gets an order to concoct a nail-in-the-coffin hit piece and betrays his hackness while doing it. In post after post Joey is called out, exposed and made an utter fool. Like I said, kinda sucks to be Mr Miller right about now.

No worries though, call up Jamie Kirchick, Ruth Sahlit (she does fluff fashion copy now, I think) and dream aloud together what might have been if what might have been if one of you had a sense of integrity, fairness or a modicum of the understanding described here
    http://virtmed.fcj.hvu.nl/doc/canonsofjournalism.html

Mr. Joe Miller has offended articles #4, 5, and 6 without question.

Must suck to be Joey Miller.

Not only do I accuse you of shoddy fact checking, but how dare you think that all Ron Paul supporters live in their parent's basement??? I happen to own my own home on a lake in Michigan. This article is written very condescendingly of Ron Paul AND his supporters.

  • Posted By: yaworsja @ 02/14/2008 1:50:31 PM

Wow great job, im totally disillusioned. Ha. Maybe you should do one of these on your darling Al Gore, although i realize youre in the business of selling magazines, not books.

It took 50 years and a LOT of public protest, but the European Union exists today. At the time, the EU was also considered a conspiracy.
I'd rather be a conspiracy theorist and a free thinker than swallow everything the government (or factcheck.org) tells me as truth.

Have you guys never seen Lou Dobbs, or doesn't he exist either? Ever read the Constitution? You are the bad guys. We are the good guys. You will lose. We will win. Your magazine denigrates our troops who support Ron Paul more than all the remaining candidates combined with their hard fought money. You should be ashamed.

  • Posted By: ziggrl @ 02/14/2008 1:14:17 PM

Hey Joe, is that all you got??? That's NOTHING compared to the facts that WILL come out about these other contestants in this beauty contest.

Why don't you do an interview with Ron Paul and I'm sure he would answer kindly to the controversies you bring up?

I think it's Thursday, and I think I'm going to work.

Once again you have proved to me that I was correct in not reading Newsweek regularly. Rather than take the concepts or idology of someone whom you dislike seriously, you belittle and attack. There is much merit to some of Mr Paul's ideas but it would be to much to ask for Newsweek to expound on those.

To the writer of this article

You write a piece that is factual, accurate, well supported and well research. Now you have to put up with all these ???revolutionaries??? questioning your journalism. What the heck were you thinking! Of course they were going to act this way. They do not listen to the facts or research, I bet half the people responding to this article did not even read the whole thing, since their responses can be debunked by simply reading the article. They are so blind and engulfed into the B.S the Ron Paul campaign is feeding them they automatically discredit you. As far as these morons are concerned your just another branch of the ???neo con??? media funded by the military industry complex. These people responding are simply not capable of being logical about anything you write and that???s why they spend all day discrediting you and anyone else who calls on their revolutions dishonesty. 30 years from now they will just be looked at as the counter cultural ass clowns the hippies were in the 60???s. I thank you for this article and hope you keep up the good work, someone needs to hold the dishonest accountable. Hopefully after we select a new President whether it be John McCain or Barrack Obama these Ron Paul supporters will go back into their parent???s basements and play with their tin foil hats.

You trying to generate hits on your lame website there, tide? Your ignorance is astounding. We are taking back this country for the people and you are going to end up on the losing side. Did I mention that your website is lame?

      • Posted By: reidbump @ 02/14/2008 1:03:46 PM

If America keeps producing voters like you, there will be no America in 30 years, and the "revolutionaries" will be viewed by the citizens of some future enlightened Republic like Cato of old.

If your willing to slut your vote to Mcain or Obama how smart are you? It appears you would like to call people who don't share your perspectives as morons and tin hat owners... how smart are you? You hide from conflict and you hide from those who are different by calling them names? You are a coward for calling someone a hippie, moron, tin hat wearer. The "facts" are simple. You will complicate them to protect your ignorance. You know your parents. You follow the popular lead whether it is good for you or not.

How about you take a moment to support your candidate rather than bashing the others... Sell me if you are so confident you have made a thoughtful choice for a presidential candidate that you will risk/give your time and money for. Or... has the choice been made for you? think about it.

      Talk is cheap

Here is an interesting article at www.ronpaul2008.com: ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA ??? According to opensecrets.org, the top three contributors to Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul???s campaign are from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force respectively.

???No matter how you measure it, Dr. Paul has the support of our nation???s brave servicemen and women,??? said Kent Snyder, Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman. ???His message of a strong national defense, and only going to war with a declaration of war ??? as mandated by the Constitution ??? resonates with those who risk their lives to defend that Constitution.???

No branch of the military appears among the ???top contributors??? to GOP frontrunner John McCain???s campaign.

Additionally, Ron Paul???s military contributions are greater than those of all other current candidates ??? John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ???combined.

The ???Top Contributors??? figures can be found at www.opensecrets.org.

I believe your article is another example of cherry-picking the information and then spinning it to make your own perspective appear logical. In response to your first point, Dr. Paul did NOT say it was a conspiracy...it offered listeners to check the public record to see that there is indeed an effort to make an international own perspective appear logical. In response to your first point, Dr. Paul did NOT say it was a conspiracy...it offered listeners to check the public record to see that there is indeed an effort to make an international highway that reaches from Canada down to Mexico; on your comments with regard to Reagan, he did so because Mr. Reagan was unable to control spending as he had promised, a fact that Mr. Reagan agreed to in his biography...Mr. Reagan called his presidency "failed"...his own word. It is apparent either you have not checked the facts yourself; or maybe you do not have the journalistic skills necessary for real analysis

This is totally disgraceful. Clearly you are nothing but a sock puppet and have discredited Newsweek AND factcheck.,org. Well, the people needed to know what kind of liars you are and who you REALLY work for! Now at least we know that we need to drop our subscriptions, remove our investments from your parent company, and boycott all of your advertisers. We're sick of such traitorous behavior.
