I have always tried to be an informed voter.
Dr. Paul makes very resonable and logical arguements for his positions.
His message is hopeful and inspiring.
I happen to agree with him more than I agree with any other candidate.
I have never been motivated to get up of my couch for ANY political candidate before.
I walk a busy intersection twice a day, holding my Ron Paul for President sign.
I do not live with my parents, nor do I have a basement in which to wear a tin foil hat you mentioned, should I ever desire to do so.

What is it about the so-called "front runners" that convinces you to support them?

    Kindest Regards,
    Q. D.

This article is biased and contains several factual errors.
    For example:
In Texas, the "superhighway" project is called the Trans-Texas Corridor.
    Google Trans-Texas Corridor for yourself.

Keep spreading the message folks! What the author neglects to tell you about the Trans Texas Corridor is that a Spanish corporation ( a shell for now the richest man in the world Carlos Slim of Mexico) reaps ALL of an unlimited toll they can charge with NO money set to maintain US highways. Talk about directly taxing the wealth of this nation into foreign interests! Rockefeller and Kissinger's days of power are numbered (in fact Kissinger cannot go to many South American countries for fear of arrest for war crimes)

You mean keep spreading the BS?

If your willing to slut your vote to Mcain or Obama how smart are you? It appears you would like to call people who don't share your perspectives as morons and tin hat owners... how smart are you? You hide from conflict and you hide from those who are different by calling them names? You are a coward for calling someone a hippie, moron, tin hat wearer. The "facts" are simple. You will complicate them to protect your ignorance. You know your parents. You follow the popular lead whether it is good for you or not.

How about you take a moment to support your candidate rather than bashing the others... Sell me if you are so confident you have made a thoughtful choice for a presidential candidate that you will risk/give your time and money for. Or... has the choice been made for you? think about it.

        Talk is cheap

    What do you expect

"Secret conspiracy to build a NAFTA Superhighway as the first step toward creating a North American Union"
This is a proposed plan and Ron Paul has simply voiced his concern if a plan actually came to fruition. Naturally, anyone should be concerned about the repercussions from a plan like this, and to paint a picture of Paul as being a paranoid conspiricy theorist is simply childish.

"U.S. spends $1 trillion per year to maintain a foreign empire but Paul gets that figure by including a lot of domestic programs that he isn't planning to cut"
Obviously funding is required for national security, the difference is that Ron Paul is pointing out that we are spending most of that trillion dollars abroad (i.e. the "War on Terror") rather than saving that money and assuring our safety here at home.

"Paul has run television ads touting an endorsement from Ronald Reagan, but he fails to mention that, in 1988, Paul wanted "to totally disassociate" himself from the Reagan administration"
In 1976 Ron Paul endoresed Ronald Reagan as a presidential candidate because of Reagan's policies and views. Into Reagan's Presidency, Ron Paul saw choices that Reagan made that contridicted the views that originally gained him the presidency, so Ron Paul made a point that this was not the Reagan he endorsed. Regardless of all that, Reagan is an icon to Republicans and conservatives so why shouldn't Ron Paul point out his connections to Reagan when they have shared similar views?

Yellow journalist scum...attacking only a few strawman arguments to make NO point. The reason Paul left the party with Reagan because while Reagan napped, the Bush Crime family extended their dominance as opium lords old Beelzebub HW Bush made with CIA contacts in the 1960s (I guess we should really call him JFK-killer bush) to full blown coke lords by terrorizing SA in the 1980s, and Clinton laundered the money in AR

Yellow journalism scum... but this is the type of hit piece we should expect from a major media outlet with an oil or arms dealers *** shoved squarely down Newsweek's throat. These attack pieces only mean the movement is SPREADING. Tell as many people as you know to watch Terrorstorm, 911: Ripple effect, Endgame, Freedom to Fascism, Zeitgeist, Loose Change, Moneymasters, and In Plane Site.

PS - No, you don't count as a good source. Neither does anyone who works at any of the major media outlets.

"But the NAFTA Superhighway that Paul describes is a myth, and the groups supposedly behind the plans are neither secret nor nefarious." - author of this insanely amusing article.

I suppose you have had your head in the sand for the past 10-20 years? the key word right now is "Trans-Texas Corridor"..... you may want to pay closer attention and not open your mouth without citing some GOOD SOURCES. thanks.

It is stories like this that make me so happy that I cancelled my subscription to Newsweek. The story took statements by Dr. Paul and nit-picked a "Straw-man" argument. Yellow Journalism at its finest.

This 'magazine' needs to change its name to NEWS WEAK! But what else would you expect from a neocon publication - the truth? Not likely. They are war mongers. They did manipulate public opinion - but not anymore....................

Wow, after reading the title, I've come to the conclusion this author is a complete and utter fool. bye.

It is interesting that here you decide to twist everything that Ron Paul believes in just to suit your own interest. A good writer should be unbiased and should just state facts. You seem like you are on a rampage for some reason! This is just another example of a biased media. Just give us facts, not your twisted opinion, please.

  • Posted By: RoninMaximus @ 02/14/2008 10:14:09 AM

Isn't it wonderful that if an American wishes to fact check as you call it they can venture outside the confines of the old media to get it. Your piece is so chock full of inaccuracies and obfuscation that it is insulting. I enetered this presidential election cycle not terribly interested in any of these would-be accomplished "public servants", and for good reason. This publication, much like the rest of the media business out there simply cannot and will not tell the truth. Your publication will be seen in history as one of the many of its kind that for decades has been complicit in lying to the American public. Your deceptions and firm commitment to maintain them is very clear TO ANY intelligent person looking to discover facts which are easily discovered. History is already rich with this malignancy that threatens the country. Who do you think you are kidding? Your hit piece on Dr. Paul is further evidence of a willful attempt to deny the truth to the American Public. Had this candidate been given the light of day by the likes of you, then rest assured he would be the front runner in a race populated by people who are inexorably wed to this creeping incrementalism known as "globalism". You're a fraud publication, and God help us all that we should continue to obtain real information supported by facts which you should be checking on for yourselves before you call something a fact check....In closing, one "fact" you touch on in this article, but don't really flush is that in spite of the black out that Paul's campaign has endured he still raised millions daily at times breaking records. Those millions would have been multiplied many times over had he been given the love-fest attention many other so-called candidates did. It's a pretty thin article, and sould have been prepared more suitably for one of his once-upon-a-time opponents. Your support, as with many media outlets - either by obfuscation of facts, or outright lying to your readers - of the efforts to create a world amalgom governed by a UN are very clear to growing numbers of Americans that indeed there are many things for which you should be brought to account for hiding or otherwise deceiving people into believeing, while ignoring the fundamental basis for positions Paul has. Most of this Country doesn't believe anything that comes out of or Media's or our polititions mouths, so good luck with your lie's cause no one is listening anymore and soon the truth will be out and you will be broke or linched and thats based off of past historical accounts of America so we don't want to hear any wining when your time comes cause you choose money over the American people. I Watch,I Listen,I Read...
NOW ...I hope someone Reads this... When it comes to politics I don't listen to parties or even what a politician would even say ,I look for their track record and if what they say is there true heart is for the people or if it's only the true desire to win a position in the Government ? THIS IS WHERE EVEN I CHANGED MY THINKING ! When I first heard of Ron Paul ,I thought his business view of our Tax system,Goverment spending; where our Government is paid by us...to play Texas Holdem with our LIVES,IRS system,Judicail system(where we except lying cheating and killing if we can hire a good Liar oooops I mean Lawyer? Paul's far fetch thinking of getting back to the basics including building core families values and responsibilities (including abortion which I don't support ! but believe in womens right to choose,Educate our families and children ),to strengthen our country from within protect our boarder(NOT LIKE CUBA) and Share responsibility with United Nations strengthen international walk a honest firm line not compromise or turn our heads because of NATION INTEREST?,but not try to dictate(but LEAD BY EXAMPLE!)
So this all seemed to be WISHFUL thinking and it could never happen,I even myself was hypicritcal enough to say we are to far into the Future and these systems, past the point where we could only wish it could be so simple again!!! Then I seen a movement and others talking about Paul. All of this is a big change of of the way I think but started to see this is truly my heart for our beautiful country and don't let any politician take credit for God's work,MY LOVE for the United States(EX-MARINE)thought we better change our direction and our ways now because OUR GREAT AMERICA,my sons, future grand children does not look promising on the road where we are heading!

I'm going to Washington with my husband and others. I don't trust our corporate-bought media or the puppets in Washington. Out of desperation, they'd probably stage another event on the scale of 911 just to keep the Revolution March from being reported on TV. I'd put nothing past the devils running this country.

Furthermore, if Ron Paul makes a decision to support a candidate and an administration it is because of ideals, not because he does not like the person. This is what I called being principle centered. Even if the odds are against you, integrity is by far the most important personal asset to preserve. I can see that this publication cannot hold the same principle centered attitude. What a shame.

???For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match.???
