I am so tired of the the negative attacks on Obama. If you want information on the man, look for it. I have found several websites that lay out his views on every issue. What experience do you people want? Nothing truly prepares one to run the country alone. Hillary, McCain and yes Obama can talk about what they will do, but are we so naive to believe that they make all the decisions, individually. There are a vast number of people with years of experience waiting to serve whoever is elected. From what I can tell from the unfounded complaints of the white posters (yes your race/color shines through) is that you are simply appalled at the thought of a Black President, regardless of his credentials. Many of the posting are a testament to Barack's message - Americans feel hopeless. If we as a nation keep doing what we are doing we are going to keep getting the same results and from what I can tell the results have been extremely poor. So let's see what someone else can bring to the table because surely no one can screw the country up any worse than your current Commander - In- Chief.

I have always voted Democratic, however, if Hillary wins the nomination, I would contemplate voting for John. Why? Because John (and Barack) will be able to unite the parties and get things done. Hillary will end up being stonewalled by the republicans just as Bush is stonewalled by the democrats, and nothing will get done!

    • Posted By: PatrynXX @ 02/13/2008 2:38:00 PM

Yes I'll have to side with this issue. I don't see any difference between Hillary or Bush. They have too many enemies.

      • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/13/2008 3:43:07 PM

There sure is a big difference in McCain and Hussein though. Hussein wants to cave in to the muslim threat, McCain will help Allah give up some virgins.

If McCain wins everyone 18 to 40 get ready to sign up for the draft. This man is crazy. The more I watch his peach last night the more convince I am that he is going to pick fights with everyone.

We will not be only fighting in Iraq; we will be fighting in Russia, China and Venezuela.

GET READY FOR MORE BLOOD SHED more of our youths being pushed in wheel chairs around town with out limbs. It might be you father, you mother, your brother or your sister who loses a life because of the lunatic. I think this man wakes up at night from nightmare that he is still a prisoner of war.

Imagine all the destruction that will take place for 100 years if we are still in IRAQ.

This guy will run the economy and the infrastructure of the US into the ground. He has no clue about economics and how it works. We will have to pay for a lingering war with no tax base because he said that they meaning rich republicans want to make as much money as they can on the backs of the underpaid American workers and spend all of it the way they want with out paying tax.

WE AR DOOM if he wins.

Obama is my first choice. I will vote for Hill if she wins. NO JOHN MCAIN for the love of this country and every living american.

Obama can have the U.S. Presidency. We will satand aside. Come inpeachment time, Hillary will be there to do the papers. Go bama!

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/13/2008 3:39:54 PM

As entertaining as that would be, its just to dangerous to let him be our leader. VOTE McCAIN. He is not your average nutjob conservative. He was right on the surge, and he is a true American Hero. NO TO MOHAMMED!!!

As a second thought, I would like to hear from the moderate muslims in our country that are now US citizens. Whom do they think would be the best one to overcome this world-wide fight against the attacks of the extremist that want to destroy all of us. The extremist are their enemys also as evidenced by what they do to their own kind. It is far worse than what we did to each other during the Civil War. As one person commented on how, in days of old, Religion killed more people and committed horrible attrocities. True! And that is exactly what is happening in the Muslim world today. As with Cathalocism, it is now the Muslims. Since this is such a serious problem and a threat to our democracy, I wish the moderate Muslims would speak out and give us some insight. Probably afraid to do so due to the radicalousness of our non-muslim citizens. But I beleive it could be a help to us. Whom is the best suited to protect us?

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/13/2008 3:36:31 PM

What the heck is a moderate muslim. One that doesn't blow thereselves and others up? Just support those that do? I cannot believe that after the harm done to our homeland that so many of our citizens would support a Mohammed. You people are pitiful.

      NO TO MOHAMMED!!!

    • Posted By: scotchwoman @ 02/13/2008 3:35:06 PM

nah, the biggest mistake was the Bush/cheny ticket. Look at us now. For all you people who say Obama isn't saying anything and 'what does he stand for?" why don't you educate yourself?? He is prolific and extremely active and very clear in his vision. Do you need the pablum spooned down your throat? We have been listening to moronic Bushisms for 8 years, thank goodness we have someone articulate to listen to.

When Barack Obama won the South Carolina primary the Clinton's disparaged and debased African Americans by explaining he won only because of his race. When he won in States such as Minnesota, Maine, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Washington - States with less than 10% African American population the Clinton's again tried to belittle his wins by stating that Democrats won't win those States in November anyway. I fervently hope and pray that the voters in Texas and Ohio see what the Clinton's are doing and make their voices heard when they vote in their State's primaries. They need to send the Clinton's a very strong message that the politics of mud slingling, lies, rumors, innuendos, racism, character assassination and personal destruction will no longer be tolerated. The despicable manner in which Clinton has conducted her campaign should be something the American people need to speak loudly and clearly about - that they have had enough and will not tolerate the Clinton's and their win at all costs, mean spirited nasty brand of politics. Voters in Ohio and Texas please let your fellow Americans know that you too want change and a candidate who will inspire you and uplift you. There is only one candidate running who has a message of change, hope, and working together to solve our nations problems and that candidate is Barack Obama. Say NO to divisiveness. Say NO to polarization. Say NO to Hillary Clinton.

    • Posted By: miltongalfas @ 02/13/2008 12:25:23 PM

AND THAT IS JUST HOW OBAMA RUNS HIS CAMPAIGN!!! He is 'The Black Bush'. Full of rhetoric while playing the race card. Any criticism is answered with 'You are only saying that because he is black. When the answer is specific to the argument then we will have a non racist candidate.

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 3:29:43 PM

And the problem is that Hillary will NEVER give us a straight answer to any issue. If the audience she is speaking to is for an issue, her rhetoric will be swung that way. It the audience is against an issue, again her rhetoric will swing back that way. If the issue is a difficult on and will require a straight answer, she will lay on the tears and say she is being picked on because she is a woman. Both Hillary and Bill are masters at diverting the issues away. When have you ever heard a straight answer from her.

  • Posted By: talldrink @ 02/13/2008 11:53:26 AM

Why is it so hard for most people to understand that this country is weary and tired of the same ol' same ol'. We are so in need of fresh ideas. Obama surely would not have come this far if his message had not resonated so much to everyone, regardless of class, race or education. Hillary's problem is Bill, she must understand that HE was the president, not SHE. HE had the experience, not SHE. So when she keeps crowing about her experience, she must be talking about Bill's. Of course, we must remember that she will rely heavily on his opinion should she get to the White House. As payment for his opinion, will she give him his own wing for him and Monica?

    • Posted By: kathy6782 @ 02/13/2008 12:00:27 PM

Get over the Monica issue! This is about OUR country and Obama is not the right choice!!!

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 2:47:56 PM

I agree, obama is not the answer, but neither is Hillary of McCain. We all have to take a bite out of the big crap sandwich we are being served and vote for the least of the evils here.....

  • Posted By: Tommypie @ 02/13/2008 2:45:52 PM

Obama is not presidential material. He is a neophyte, a novice and althjough a smooth talker. charismatic and engaging, presidential material he is not. I am still to figure out what exactly he means by "change" and "hope". More government interference with our lives? More welfare checks and entitlements? Mr. Obama, go home to Illinois to mature and maybe you'll be ready for another run for the presidency in eight years. But probably not. I don't want Obama as Commander in Chief. Scary, scary!!! He'll likely try to appease the terrorists through "diplomacy:". Well, you can't make peace with the devil.

  • Posted By: sherid41 @ 02/13/2008 2:43:04 PM

I think if Hilary would just attempt to be the clas act that Obama presents....and acknowlege his successes, and congratulate him...that would go a long way. Obama has never taken the low road, and when she won the large states in the Super Tuesday primaries, he was one of the first people to congraulate her....a class act. Dimissing his victories is heavily affecting her campaign.

Folks, I have watched the movie "Titanic" - maybe 10 times or more, and as I watch this HRC's campaign, I can see a fast sinking ship. It is obvious to me that she has a lot of excess baggage on this ship, and the strain of the weight is beginning to show. Although I felt turned off at her mischevious tactics together with Bill, I felt so sorry for her last night. Those near teary bags beneath her eyes showed subtle signs of stress and self doubt, and perhaps the fear of loosing her most sought after ambition. This fight is proving mush tougher and more expensive than she had anticipated.

But I worry that she seems hot headed and blinded by ambition. She never seemed to even acknowledge the few votes she got even if she lost (pride?). She keeps changing the goal posts (disingenious?), and her excuses for loosing each contest are getting pretty long for regular folks to understand. At some point she may find herself like Mitt Romney did, and would have the make the decision he was forced to make - "stop the bleed, and cut your losses".

She need not look too far for the cause of her demise. Pride and Bill did the most harm to her campaign (besides her other self inflicted wounds). Together they turned off many voters/supporters by their mostly insensitive comments, and "a divide and conquer strategy:. They took the support of long term loyalists fore granted. Voters may be silly atimes and naive like young lovers but they hate to be told so.

I only hope that HRC will find a gracious exit strategy from her fast compounding misery, and bow out while the ovation is loudest. Many people still like her for a variety of other reasons. In spite of all her mis-steps and faults, she has lifted up the spirits of many a woman in America. She may not win the Oval office, but again she really does not need to. I think she is still tough and rugged nonetheless. Her many other attributes still appeal voters like me. That she loyally stood by wild Bill when it was most difficult to do so raises her stock price in my eyes. For that reason alone, she earned my respect and admiration.

    • Posted By: lookbeneaththesurface @ 02/13/2008 1:00:38 PM

so what if she is tired? It's still more acceptable to vote for a man, isn't it? People like you are the ones that are holding women down. "don;t fight anymore...the big, bad man is stronger". I hope she sticks in there until the convention and makes them RIP this presidency from her hands! Obama is NOT prepared to take on this job and I will never vote for him. There was a time when I had hoped he would be vice-president with Hillary for 8 years then step into his own presidency. When he came out to campaign against her I knew I could never vote for him. After Hillary campaigned on his behalf, and brought her supporters on board to help him get his seat in the Senate, THIS is how he repays her. That tells me all I need to know about his character. He is a false person and I do not trust him. He says people just need to get to know him, but he doesn't tell anyone anything about himself. What is he hiding? No one ever asks him about his schooling in Indonesia at a mosque or his relationship with his now deceased white mother. Why did he call the president of Kenya the day after the Iowa caucuses??? Where do his loyalties lie? What has he done for this country that would recommend him for this job?

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 2:42:48 PM

Here we go with the Gender card. Look at your comments. What is the difference in the way you put your view defending a "Woman" and the way the "Race" card has been played? Sound's like you will vote for her simply because she is a woman. Womens lib has come and gone. Anyone can succeed, man woman, black, white, etc...... This hatred, discontent and continuation of the belief of inequities is actually caused by people like you who continue to use these same lame excuses. I don't care about the color of skin or gender.... whoever is most qualified should be chosen. I won't vote for Hillary - not because she is a woman, but because of WHO she is and the actions she has taken to prove that she is NOT qualified. A woman can be president.... just not that woman

      • Posted By: BIG MAC @ 02/13/2008 2:34:30 PM

Why is it necessary for Obama to get HRC's permission - what about that makes sense??

  • Posted By: olboy @ 02/13/2008 12:02:47 PM

If the Democrats want to secure the White House in January 2009, the best solution is this. If Barack wins he would be wise to ask Hillary to be Vice President, and should Hillary pull though she would also be wise to ask Barack to be V.P. and neither should decline the offer. It would be a good team for the country, spirits would be high and people would have faith in the future. Also, it would be a double historical event.. a blakc man and a woman in the White House!

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 2:32:54 PM

If that ever happens...... America is doomed. Hello United States of the UN

  • Posted By: Ponzi @ 02/13/2008 12:26:58 PM

When I look at the four remaining candidates I see strong points in all of them... each would be a tremendous improvement over the current president. So my main focus is on who can lift us as a nation and help rebuild our coalition with nations around the world. McCain comes in fourth on this one, so he is off my list. Now we're down to three.
Who can work with both sides of the House and Senate to push the health care plan they believe in? With some rather deep-rooted baggage behind her I think Hillary comes in third here. And then there were two.
Who has the organization, outreach, and support across the country and not just in regional pockets? My prayers are for Obama.

Funny, Obama doesn't mention how Hillary campaigned for HIM to get into the Senate. Think about who he really is. An opportunistic egomaniac with no experience or credentials. What is this CHANGE we are supposed to see? Funny he never mentions his schooling in Indonesia or his white mother. He is now linked to the biggest Washington machine out there, the kennedys. do you really want Oprah and Ted Kennedy running our country? THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

  • Posted By: cardee98 @ 02/13/2008 1:47:24 PM

One more question - are people voting for Obama because they want to, or because he's not Hillary? Because that's not a very good way to pick a president.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 2:02:42 PM

But remember the last election, the Democrat sided attack machine used the same arguement as a premise in that election for voting their way against the republican side.... it was the "Vote for me because I'm not Bush" campaign. How is it different now? I don't especially like McCain, but it seems too one sided in these arguements which only a few years ago was being used on the democrat side against a republican. I agree that this is not a reason for anyone to vote either way, but come on... we sound like elementary school kids in our own flip flopping on what should and shouldn't be used in a campaign.

  • Posted By: itsjoshua @ 02/13/2008 12:48:19 PM

Hillary Clinton is the best person for the job of President. Obama is inexperienced, young, wonderfully inspirational yet lacking any real ability to affect "real" problems. The more this contest becomes deadlocked, the more annoyed I feel because I know people aren't using their heads when casting their votes. Young people in college aren't qualified to choose our next president. Black people are supporting Obama because he's one of their own (which I suppose I understand), but that's not going to get him in office in a general election. WAKE UP! If Obama is chosen, we will lose the general election and I for one, will vote for John McCain instead of Obama. If we want a democrate in the white house, Hillary Clinton has to be the nominee.

    • Posted By: bless4mj @ 02/13/2008 2:00:11 PM

Are you freaking kidding me, give me a break! "Black people are supporting Obama because he's one of their own", dear sir, I am African American and I do know plenty of African Americans who did not vote for Obama, nor do we all support him simply because he is black. I want the person who is the right person, be it black or white, and I happen to believe it is Hillary Clinton. Before John Edwards stepped down, I like him a lot, but now I just feel in my soul that Hillary is the right person for the job, if only her husband would keep his yap shut and perhaps her daughter would be a little more vocal. With McCain in the Office/White House that would take us back to the Regan/Bush Sr. years all over again, and you can take that all the way to the bank. I am not a Obama fan and have not jumped on the bandwagon because he is black or because I am black. Le'ts just hope that the best person wins, I get more than a little nervous with the thought of McCain or Obama in the Office.

    • Posted By: GoObama @ 02/13/2008 1:05:48 PM

I don't agree. I am a white female republican and I would vote for Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton or John McCain. I would not for for Barack Obama if Hillary Clinton was on the same ticket. I don't believe that we have to be divided by race, gender or even political association. The "Old" (Hillary Clinton and John McCain) have not proved to me that they have done anything in the many years they have been in the senate to make America a better place then before they were there. If anything it is worse. Crossing the continental divide between Democrats and Republicans for those two should have been done a long time ago.

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 02/13/2008 10:21:18 AM

I am astounded at the impatience of Hillary and her fans.

Why can't you just happily wait four years until Obama is totally hated and then try again for the presidency?

Is that such a long wait?

    • Posted By: Texayorker @ 02/13/2008 1:56:27 PM

You'll have four years of a McCain presidency first, if Obama is the nominee. The Republican machine will rip into little Barack nuggets!

  • Posted By: Wa Dem @ 02/13/2008 1:56:22 PM

Let me think extramarital affiars or ties to statements that claims America deserved what it got on 9/11, hmm which will rile evangelicals more. McCain's dream opponant is Obama, his base is ready to abandon him if Hillary runs, when Ann Coulter pledges to vote for Hillary over McCain what does this say about his chance against her. Put Obama in the race, throw in a little Rev. Wright, and you get a perfect recipe for 4 more years of Bush policies ala McCain.

  • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/13/2008 1:55:51 PM

What I find comical is the statement that Hillary can beat McCain in a debate on National Security. What is she going to do... cry again when she gets a touch question? Hillary is as much a blowhard as Obama when it comes to giving a long speach with absolutely no substance at all. How will she beat McCain in a debate on a topic that he is much more qualified on? I would suggest she choose a different topic to debate against him.... maybe the Kumbaya effort....

  • Posted By: perci m @ 02/13/2008 1:55:36 PM

I echo what john mcain said; "he is not one who claim to be annointed by the spirit, that he can claim he can save America from where it is now". rather, with humility, he is thankful that America saves him.

obam talk like an empty can, how can he fulfill all those words he is saying, when you have to deal with the elected congress and senate? are we all moron?

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 02/13/2008 1:15:15 PM

    Jok_Bond:

I don't think it matters how much people pray for Hillary to show some fighting spirit, if she does not have it in her.

OR as past generations have said ..." turn a sow's' ear into a silk purse" - it is amazing to me that as America speaks - HRC supporters choose not to listen. HRC had her moment - she understimated her competition and NOW . she is expereincing the aftermath!!!. No doubt Obama will and should be examined - maybe - just maybe America wants a fresh UNTESTED (HRC'S HAS BEEN & CAME UP SHORT) ...just maybe America is willing to take a risk with a new approach - just maybe the Clinton's are history - pleasant and all --just may be America has CHANGED!!!
