I've never witnessed a politician with a more abstract, empty message, yet Obama seems to hypnotically entrance his followers. His charisma is not unlike that of Jim Jones of Jonestown notoriety. Jim Jones' followers also felt their idol could do no wrong - until it was too late! This smacks of cultism. Yes, Obama is resurrecting the memories of the sixties when cult following was the order of the day. The Republicans (and Fox News) can't wait for him to be crowned the nominee so they can swift-boat him, de-hypnotize his followers, and retain the White House. Do not underestimate them! Then the Kennedys, Kerrys, Winfreys, Dashles, Lamonts etc will begin licking their wounds. Imagine, eight more years of Republican rule! How sad the best qualified person seems on the verge of losing it all.

You are so right. Something about him has always struck me as "weird". He does what I call his "Jedi Knight" move where when on a rare occasion he asked a tough or personal question where he does not answer it, he turns the interviewer's attention elsewhere and everyone just moves along. Since when has the media EVER let anyone get away with that? I also like to point out that not too long ago another extremely charismatic man ran for office in a broken nation and on a platform of change-his name is Hitler and is to blame for WWII and the decimation of millions. I am not saying that Obama is a modern day Hitler-just that because he is likeable it doesn't make him the best choice and people should not run blindly to the voting booths as they have been doing.

In Nevada, we actually had people caucusing for him that did not even know what state he represents-that is scary.

John McCain-American Hero or Hussein Obama-Muslim sympathizer.

A vote for mohammed is foolish, irresponsible, and dangerous. What is wrong with you people.

McCain will defeat him in a landslide-then ya'll can cry. But look on the bright side-a lot of mohammeds will get those virgins they so highly covet.

I am quite amazed people still actually believe that Obama is a Muslim. If you count your research on a candidate as checking your email and finding a chain letter telling you Obama is a Muslim, please spare us and don't vote. It's people like that who were idiotic enough to believe George W. Bush would be a good idea for another four years. True patriotism isn't a little American flag pin on your suit, it's also not about preaching about how Christian you are so people like you more. True patriotism is whole-heartedly wanting to change America back to a respectable nation, and not just a nation we respect, but the world over. Continued wars and more wars started will certainly not do that for America. People are finally seeing through Hillary and she is getting dominated in every state. Obama was a massive underdog when he started, it's a great example of what a little hope can do. If you don't think America can change itself and its image to the world, here's three words for you. Yes. We. Can. Over the last decade or so we've been a nation of division rather than of unity. It is time for people in this country to remember what "US" stands for. It is time to put the United back in United States. .Stop the hate, stop the division, and start the change.

To be so articulate you are certainly gullible. There is ample proof of Hussein Obama's early muslim education, family ties, his mother's relationships with muslims, and his "church's" ties to the muslim community. You just choose to either not look objectively or you spend to much time watching YouTube. Hussein is a muslim sympathizer at best. Possibly much worse. The people can't be negotiated with. They only understand brutality and want nothing less than the destruction of Western civilization, mainly the US.

After the tragedy of 9/11, for any American to consider him their choice for Commander-In-Chief is just plain stupid. Barak Hussein Obama IS A MOHAMMED.

Hope people is what this country was built upon. It was the crux of JFK's presidency, who by the way was one of the greatest presidents this country has ever had. Additionally, Obama DOES have political experience and has seen the error of Washington's ways. Sometimes too much experience does not allow for innovation and new vision. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. And we certainly need new and fresh eyes on problems rooted in old politics, particularly during the last 2 terms of the Bush Administration. His presidency would be very healing for a country that has historically judged people based on traits other than merits. He will only get to the white house with the white vote, including mine. And to see a united people elect a president to the United States of America, operative word being united, based on his vision and his merits, not his skin color says that we as a country and as a people have come a long way. It also sends a message to the rest of the world who hate us. Someone asked if Obama's following would be less if he were white. Well, I'm white and could care less if Obama was white, black, green, pink, whatever. I'm voting for Obama based on his experience and vision. Please people research Obama's merits. He is well-educated (Harvard) and has long been in opposition to Bush policies that have strangled our citizens particularly the overwhelming middle class and lower class citizens that reside in our country. And I'm neither. I'm very wealthy and would probably benefit financially from Republican proposed legislation. But, as a person who loves the USA and all of its people and diversity I want to see a country unified whereby all citizens have access to the American dream. Not just the wealthy. Whoever you vote for make sure you do your research. We all have skeletons, but Clinton and McCain have a house full of them.

Thank you for your kind words. We must gather together to dispell the myths regarding Sen. Obama and encourage those who are blinded by propaganda to do their research and embrace the desparately needed hope, new policies, and unification that we all as Americans desire. Yes we can!!!

Obama was sworn in as a senator on January 4, 2005.[49] Although a newcomer to Washington, he recruited a team of established, high-level advisers devoted to broad themes that exceeded the usual requirements of an incoming first-term senator.[50] Obama hired Pete Rouse, a 30-year veteran of national politics and former chief of staff to Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle, as his chief of staff, and economist Karen Kornbluh, former deputy chief of staff to Secretary of the Treasury Robert Rubin, as his policy director.[51] His key foreign policy advisers include Samantha Power, author on human rights and genocide, and former Clinton administration officials Anthony Lake and Susan Rice.[52] Obama holds assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and Veterans' Affairs, and he is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.[53] The U.S. Senate Historical Office lists him as the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history, the third to have been popularly elected, and the only African American currently serving in the Senate.[54]

And that gives him experience? Sounds like same old "Washington politics" to me. Hillary by far has alonger civil and human rights record that blows doors off of Obama. Sounds like the Bush followers of 2000/2004. We believed but now we see. They see now after the damage is done. We can not afford another learn on the job President. Even Bush was part of the military and was a Govenor.
Hillary may not have held these offices but she has been there, knows what is expected and is someone who knows what needs to be done and will work to get it done. I don't want hope I want results.

It is so sad that the Clinton campaign relies so heavily on the Hispanic "ignorance." Fellow Latinos, unite and strike out at the Clinton campaign who believes that people of Hispanic descent are not "evolved" enough to vote for a black man. I hope no one falls for this trick that Ms. Clinton and her campaign are trying to pull on us Latinos. It is ridiculous that Ms. Clinton's campaign is relying on our support but offers no confidence in Latinos to do the research and find that Mr. Obama is clearly the better candidate. The Clinton campaign believes that Latinos are so ignorant that they would "rather follow any white woman than a black man." No es cierto!!! I would rather follow the RIGHT MAN--Barack Obama.

    • Posted By: Dr.Lamot @ 02/13/2008 9:20:09 PM

Amen..Amen! It is great to see other Latinos realizing the psychology, that the Clinton campaign is using. Latinos are not just "a vote", but a voice. The OLD political machine that the Clinton Campaign is trying to disguise as some major change, is just a promotional campaign for Hillary Clinton, not for real and definitely not for necessary change. The state of this society will still be in serious detriment of stagnation d complacency. The wound will still be oozing. Change is NECESSARY! Just because it is coming from a person who happens to have some African descendancy, doesn't mean a thing. God uses All kinds of people. Think, Read, and use good judgement, because what Obama is bringing is a critical and crucial movement that will be good for ALL of us. Let us stop using the distractions of division and hatred to keep us from viewing what we ALL need. And that is, UNITY. Obama brings us together. Stop feeling as if you will somehow be overtaken and destroyed, if someone has a packaging that is DIFFERENT than we are used to. Thank God for people who see the SPIRIT AND don't focus on the PACKAGING, because our PACKAGING is filled with too many people's misconceptions. We don't need stereotyping. We need positive mindset, a person who can bring people together and renew our passion, and that person is OBAMA! Come on, let's all Do this!

Look, im a Rep. and so i could care less what Dem. wins, but i will say other than being in the Senate what really qualifies Clinton over Obama? She was BESIDE the man who ran this country she didnt do a damb thing. People think because she was there that that makes her that much more qualified, come on i can watch the president on tv all day that doesnt make me qualified. Granted that Obama is young and doesnt know what this country really needs but i wouldnt say he is that much less qualified, he has different views and stances. What kind of views and stances are you looking for the woman stood by her husband after he got a blow job from some ugly ass chick, me if my husband were to get a blow job by some one else i wouldnt be beside him for much longer than it would take for the divorce papers to go through. If you ask me neither are ready or qualified to run this country, ones to young and the other is to emotional, i mean if you get upset at a news conferance because things are hard well running a war isnt easier. peoples lives are at the presidents hands and if you cant deal with a tough campaine than knowing you are sending people to there death is going to be easy! Obama is to young and his views are uneasing, he lacks experiance and maturity to run a nation that is this powerfull and shouldnt be president but dont say because Clinton was beside the president that gives her any advatage over Obama, and just so no one thinks that i am all Rep. i honestly dont belive i can pick just one, none of them really stand out for an all around candidate. The one with the most experiance (McCane) has some falls that are pretty major and cant be over looked, but he, in my opinon, is the only one, experiance wise, who is the only one qualified.

I had an interesting conversation today

  • Posted By: bg_politics @ 02/13/2008 8:29:41 PM

What "hope" is Senator Obama talking about when he talks of the audacity of hope referring to his campaign for the presidency? His hopes or those of millions of citizens? The needs of converse wearing well to do youngsters are different from real needs of hardworking underprivileged people whose concerns can only be addressed by Senators Clinton, John Edwards or John McCain. America is a great country...it doesn't need and overhall...it just needs to rediscover it's humane side.

Another issue Sen Obama talks about is leaving Iraq immediately? Does the US not have a responsibility to the people of Iraq who suffered thru these past years? I think Sen Clinton understands these issues better.

    • Posted By: BRENDA60 @ 02/13/2008 9:02:25 PM

DOES HILLARY. WHERE IS HER EXPERIENCE WITH WAR, NONE I AM A WHITE WOMAN IN NC AND I WILL NOT FOR HER AND BILL. HE HAD HIS SHOT. WHAT DID HE ACCOMPLISH. EXCEPT TO DISGRACE HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER,

  • Posted By: interested @ 02/13/2008 8:25:57 PM

Senator Obama's heart lies in Kenya. Listen to is thoughts on the subject. www.tucc.org/about.htm This is the web address for the church Senator Obama attends with his family. All black and basis of Africa. Not to mention he did not salute the American flag. Now, I know some have said that it was a photograph and maybe he placed his hand to his heart at a later time, but a video shows that he never did. ABC News video. The truth is that Senator Obama has no business heading a country he does not respect.

    • Posted By: Seattle Lady @ 02/13/2008 8:58:19 PM

A person's refusal to salute the flag is not necessarily indicative of lack of respect of his country. There are some ultra-traditional branches of certain religions that take *literally* the injunction against worshiping graven images (though I recognize that in this case "Symbol" would be a better word). Does anyone know if Sen. Obama has made a statement about this issue? By the way, my comment should not be taken as either for or against Sen. Obama's candidacy. Either Barak or Hillary would be so much better than the current person mismanaging our country! They both have very different qualities and skill-sets either of which would serve them well in the role of President.

  • Posted By: Bhmom1 @ 02/13/2008 8:33:13 PM

ANYONE BUT HILLARY IS RIGHT!! As a NATIVE actual NEW YORKER it makes my skin crawl that she was elected senator. Everytime I hear her voice I have to leave the room or change the channel, she and Bill need to retire to Arkansas where they belong and sell used cars. Just my opinion........ PS I LOVE that she is lagging in the polls.....

    • Posted By: BRENDA60 @ 02/13/2008 8:58:09 PM

I AGREE WITH YOU TOTALLY I AM FROM THE SOUTH AND EVEN I CAN'T STAND TO HEAR HER. EVERYONE IS BAILING OUT ON HER AND SHE KNOWS NOT SHE CAN'T WIN. BY THE WAY WHERE DID SHE GET HER LAST 5 MIL.t

  • Posted By: Bricktop @ 02/13/2008 8:37:04 PM

I think it is indicative of Clinton???s leadership and management skills that she finds herself losing what should have been a sure thing. Her top campaign management is bailing out (or being fired) because they???ve blown it. She had to loan her own money to the campaign when she learned at a late date it was nearly broke. She had tremendous name recognition, DNC inside connections, and plenty of FOBs with tons of money when she started. I would be concerned for the country if she were elected president. Experience is great if it is used properly. After numerous campaigns with her husband, I don???t she has shown any great wisdom of experience in running a campaign, let alone running the nation. ???.One more comment about experience,???if that???s what it takes, the McCain has ten times more. If she wins the nomination, she will have to back-track on that one and think of something else to run on. Obama will not have to change a thing in his message.

  • Posted By: 30meridian @ 02/13/2008 8:55:40 PM

Barack Obama is on the ballot because he deserves to be. His name alone made it next to impossible for him to make it this far in a post-9/11 America. Speaking of names, does anyone honestly believe that we would ever have even heard of Hillary Clinton if her name was anything other than Hillary CLINTON? I seem to remember another presidential candidate a few years back who succeeded in riding his name to the finish line. I seem to recall thinking, WOW! WAS THAT A BAD CALL OR WHAT? I also recall being laughed at by the entire rest of the world for electing our leaders based on nepotism. We may as well change the country's name to: The United States of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton. Bill and Hillary had their 8 years in the White House, and with a booming economy to boot! And what did we get?... 8 years of headlines that I would expect to see on the National Enquiror; not on the covers of our newspapers! Barrack Obama would have already locked up this nomination if it were not for names. (But, that's okay. We'll just go ahead and lock it up later on.)

Amen, Amen..I'm glad to see that many Latinos are not falling for the psychology that Hillary Clinton and her camp are using. It is a terrible stereotyping of Latinos, that the Clinton campaign is trying to capitalize on, which is that your voice doesn't really matter, just your vote. Her campaign is depending on the fact that Latinos won't read, think, and judge for themselves, but just to blindly go into voting for a political machine that still refers to many Latinos as illegal "aliens" . That word alone, ALIENS, can conote some very negative thoughts and depictions of Latinos, and this political machine that is driven with the politics that we have now is part of what the Clinton campaign will continue to uphold. When change is necessary, and believe me it is long overdue, We the People need to stand up and support that and stop being slaves to a system that depends on us being divided and fighting against each other. The machine of change and GOOD change that We the People need is coming through a young, intelligent, passionate, sincere, honest, and formidable candidate, who "happens" to have some African descendancy, so what if he is African American, God works through All kinds of people. So amen to those who recognize SPIRIT, and not PACKAGING!

OBAMA displays unpatriotic actions! Please READ ON...
Some supporters have suggested that perhaps the picture does not tell the whole story and that he may have raised his hand shortly after it was taken.

An ABC News video, however, shows that Senator Obama did not salute at any time during the anthem and that everybody else on the platform did.

A spokesperson for the Senator told Fox News that it was ridiculous to suggest that Obama was making any kind of a statement and that sometimes "he does and sometimes he doesn't place his hand over his heart during the national anthem."
He's a MUSLIM SYMPATHIZER and was indoctrinated into Islam during his most formative years!

I think once Hillary is disposed of the issue of qualification, competence and experience will result in another republican victory. Many democrats do not have the excuse of youth in believing polls suggesting Obama has the better chance. We should all know the most pressing concern come November will be who is best qualified to be commander in chief and McCain is already staking claim to that moniker.
I also think he will get blasted as weak on terrorism. Why is there so little coverage about the 900+ lies, oops, I mean erroneous intelligence about Iraq having WMD including a State of the Union Address suggesting Saddam would give nuclear weapons to terrorists. Not to mention we were all told authorization for war would only be used to get inspectors back in. I remember the mood of the country and the intense pressure so soon after 911. I thought Clinton had no choice, we had to do something. Obama did not have to actually cast a vote, did not have to make the hard decision based on the fictitious ???facts??? at the time and knew he would not be held accountable because he was merely a state legislator. I am not fooled by the high flying rhetoric about changing politics; this is a cold and calculating politician.

  • Posted By: tabb1211 @ 02/13/2008 7:09:25 PM

Wow! Ignorance must be blissful! Hillary Clinton can't even effectively manage her campaign like the diplomat she claims to be. Does anyone remember Susan McDougal? If not google her and make the connection! Simply put Clinton lacks integrity. Vote for Obama!

I can't believe the disrespect that I am reading on here for both candidates. They both are doing their jobs to secure the win to be the top candidate. I agree with the comment that Obama and Hillary promises are quite similar. It saddens me to hear people on here disrespect Obama and Hillary with the racist and sexist remarks. For those of you doing that you really should be ashamed. Here is a thought vote for the person you feel is best suited for the job and if that person happens to be black or a woman then SO BE IT. Plus our military is in one of our weakest states in over 80 years. We don't have the time or energy to lie and bs, it's time to get to work.

Obama reminds me those presidents who had big campaigns convincing the people to follow them,
but as soon as they have become the presidents they showed themselves so uncompetitive that they were forced to leave the office after six months.
