It is nice to note that Senator Obama is getting support across the Race divide and is begining to get some support from women also. Rumour has it nevertheless that the Obamamania is pushed by a desperate means for carthasis on account of slavery and the scars it festers on the psyche of the Country. This is positive by itself, and the misogyny evident in the media hysteria cannot stick on him hence the appeal across the sex line. I give his campaign credit for eliciting the need to trash these issues. I am worried never the less that such sentimental quest for a high on glamour and glitz does not translate into putting a disc-jockey on the most exalted political office on the Earth.
Finally I agree that Obamamania is about involving the people in the governance of the Country but is he capable of pulling it? I think not. We must decide and live with whatever decision we make, we have lived eight years with Dubya and he too has his pluses. Like we say God bless America - The United States.

When is Obama give some details, rather than simple rethoric? Change? Does he ever say "how" he wants to change, and what? Where's the beef?

The beef is on his web site. If you want to know, go to it.

on the comment of uglydawg7...... i disagree with u 100% What we do not need in this country is a female president. Women need to learn how to stay in their place and let men do the job that is meant for a man to do. I beleive that the reason why so many people in america are against Obama becoming president is because he has brought a challenge to this country since the beginning and that is a black man running for president. It's what america wants. Not that he is an actor or a little ironic... most of it has to do to the fact that he is black. I would be a FOOL if i voted for Clinton to be president. This country will go down if she becomes president and I pray to God that he does not allow this to happen. Women are very emotional when it comes to personal problems. How is a woman going to handle all the pressure of a country on her.....can't happen effectively!!

the type of people voting for Obama?

  • Posted By: Mr. Nationalist @ 02/13/2008 8:37:17 PM

The worries of Blacks and Whites about Hon. Senator Barack Obama is as unfounded as much as it is in the peoples psyche in this country. Sen. Barack has already healed himself. It is now time for the people of America to heal ourselves, the young and especially the older Whites, Blacks and Hispanic voters who lived through the Civil Rights Movement and Discriminations resulting from it. America's Black Population, with all of our internal promblems, realize that Sen. Barack Obama's win in the Presidential contest will not reverse past Discriminations. It may prevent future ones from taking place. However Black Americans will not approach a President Obama with unrealistic and divisive demands. we understand that Sen. Barack will have a job to do that hasn't been
done before and that is be a President for all of the peoples in America.
Also Sen. Obama is actually carrying on a long forgotten and overlooked Black American Political tradition. That of Black Federalists from the days of the Revolutionary War, The Civil War Period, and The World War Years. Just look at Mr. Benjamin Banneker, Wiiliam Lloyd Garrison, Henry Louis Garnet,
Frederick Douglass, Henry McNeal Turner, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B.
Dubois and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to name a few and you will see what I am talking about.
What White Americans have to get over is feelings of guilt and thinking that
Black Americans are going to point the finger at them based on race and past discriminations. Just four years ago no one gave Sen. Barack a chance but
seeing this man, hearing him speak and looking at his political record in his home state has broken down misconceptions and stereotypes about him.
Also , it shold not be overlooked that among black americans he has appealed
to individuals and groups from all backgrounds who have different philosophies about our experience here and who don't always agree with each other. Barack has convinced us to give Democracy a real true chance and not repeat the mistakes that we accuse White Americans of.!

"inexperienced" candidate has the best opportunity to change the paradigm of old politics.
and put USA in a worst scenario than today's.

  • Posted By: Bhmom1 @ 02/13/2008 7:49:01 PM

ANYONE BUT HILLARY IS RIGHT. As an actual NATIVE NEW YORKER it makes me sick that she was elected senator> The sound of her voice makes my skin crawl, I have to leave the room or change the channel and have you seen the superimposed pictures of Bill Clinton face on her head? She looks like a MAN!! She and Bill need to go back to Arkansas and sell used cars. I LOVE THAT SHES LAGGING IN THE POLLS, I WISH SHE WOULD JUST GO AWAY!!!!

    • Posted By: kimmygal @ 02/13/2008 8:04:30 PM

That's why you dislike her because she looks like a man or her voice is annoying? That is ridiculous. If she were attractive would you vote for her then?

      • Posted By: Bhmom1 @ 02/13/2008 8:35:42 PM

No Kimmygal, but I would vote for you. You seem to have alot of passion on this topic. :)

  • Posted By: bg_politics @ 02/13/2008 8:35:20 PM

The best thing about this election is that Sen McCain is a gentleman and an american hero. He will squash Sen Obama should he defeat Hillary anyway - maybe that will be best for the country. Only thing is that the country will lose the best opportunity it hashad for a national healthcare system that wouldmake american industry competitive against those of Jpan and Europe.

  • Posted By: votesmart @ 02/13/2008 8:35:17 PM

people running from hillary because the media tells them she cant beat a republican, should be ashamed to call themselves democrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: Trangman @ 02/13/2008 8:32:26 PM

What are the qualifications of being the president? The only qualification that I see is the ability to represent the people. I believe he has that..the experience of dealing with lobbyists and mud-slinging is not important to me. It is too much experience that I fear, because too much experience might entail too much of dependency on the policies of the old. If we are truly in support of change, an "inexperienced" candidate has the best opportunity to change the paradigm of old politics.

  • Posted By: The Dominican @ 02/13/2008 8:32:10 PM

Mr. Juggernaut in politics there are things that we can see and other we can't, Mr Obama has many atributes, but running the USA under actual difficulties is better to choose someone who was beside the guy who ran USA better than almost all presidents before him , and you must be sure she learn from the choices this guy (Bill) made when he was on the chair, remember she is his wife and a good qualified professional with the experience "the change" needs.

Good fantacy jobs program obama wheres the beef of details?
Details like banning illegal aliens from federal funded projects you dont ban illegals you want to give them drivers licences so they can more effectively cutthroat middle class jobs.
housing jobs arent heavy construction federal work projects are heavy construction or did not you know that wheres the beef
many illegals work housing construction RICO that industry Make it a felomy for an illegal alien not to report his employer and tell all illegals dont report you are an accessory the fine them 3 years wages at the prevaling rate. that will cut into their profits.put their employers in prison
tought enforcement will creat many jobs for middle class america once the cutthrouats are gone and their employers are forbidden to ever engage in business again and serve tough prision sentances
Once Bushes illegal army of replacement workers is gone we will all be betteer off !
Hillery says $9.50 /hr. minimun wage no illegals makes that much more possiable

    • Posted By: jmartincali @ 02/13/2008 6:45:06 PM

One might think you're an illegal as well, but wait - I'm sure illegals can spell better than you can. They are probably cutthroats because they are rising above your intelligence... stealing the middle-class jobs, are they?

      • Posted By: 15R8 @ 02/13/2008 8:31:14 PM

        Hey jmartincali this is 15R8
I figured it out you work in a J-Mart gasstation in California. Yu probally have no education sympathise with illegals maybe do favors for illegals maybe even drive them about in an A* van thinking that nobody knows because they are slunk down on the floor . Guess what we know ICE will be around to see you
Oops my mistake the van probally is a later. What is it 15 hours a week no bennies bennies? Ienjoyed getting under your skin. I am going to sleep great you see that is the thing with free speach, it is politically free and more people agree with me on

drivers licences for illegals than not.

      • Posted By: 15R8 @ 02/13/2008 7:49:40 PM

Hey jmartincali who you calling stupid you must be one of those pro illegal dont want to uphold the law .Ibet you flip your yourself off . Ihave a degree in civil engineering technology and have worked for some of the no.1 construction companies in america. what do you do for a living flip yacos. If you cant understand illegal aliens drive down American middleclass jobs you must be pro illegal the middle class will never lie down to illegals getting drivers licences. It did not work inNYS and it wont work inAmerica. Maybe when aliens enter this country they should be made to wear tracking devices so when they oversay your visa it will be much easier to track them down and deport the lawbreakers.
The answer to illegals is tough enforcementof the laws on the books, why dont you go vote obama is it because you are not a citizen only a not citizen or someone aginst the middleclass would be pro drivers licences for illegals comeon show us wour citizenship papers.

I wish that America could get past the unfounded hatred of Hillary - and realize that she is the best person to go to work for our children every day. So what if you don't like her personality?! Big deal! She isn't running for "best friend in your life" anyway!! But she would make a wonderful Commander in Chief! She's tougher than Obama Sunshine - and she is considered by many to be more of a moderate conservative than John McCain. Obama has not shown that he is tough enough to withstand the heat that he will face in a 2 person race. He doesn???t want anyone to mention his race in any way ??? and he is deceiving himself to think that all of these big wheel democrats are truly his friends. They will turn on him at the drop of a dime if he gets in their way. I am very leery of Obama...This so-called "inspiration and motivation??? that he has generated among our youth is taking on the look of a political cult to me. His followers question NOTHING about him. So far he shows virtually no flaws (or much of anything else of substance) - but anything too good to be true usually is. Even Satan can transform himself into an angel of light, deceiving even the very elect. I hope America wakes up before it is too late! I will vote GOP before I vote Obama. Also, read between the lines of Michelle Obama. She came into this campaign kicking and screaming -and would prefer to keep her private life just that. Janice in NC ??? a 45 yr. old African American southern woman for Hillary!

  • Posted By: NewLeadership08 @ 02/13/2008 5:33:38 PM

Well, Hillary couldn't manage her marriage effectively (remember Lewinsky and others?) and obviously can't manage her campaign (hence lending her own money). I would hate to see what she would do if she had control of the White House. Hillary talks on and on about experience. Honestly, in those years that she has been in office, what has she actually done? Seriously?
Obama is what this country needs. A leader. We don't need someone with divisive politics like Mrs. Clinton. Hasn't this country been polarized over issues long enough? We need a leader like Obama, who will cross the ethnic, economic, social and party lines and will unify this country. A house divided will fall, and this country has been divided long enough.

It seems like she managed a very difficult situation EXTREMELY well and much better than many women could do. Bill's slip with Monica should not be blamed on Hillary (notice how we always find a way to blame the wife/mother/sister/girlfriend for everything?).

  • Posted By: starrs @ 02/13/2008 8:30:14 PM

Should Obama win the nomination, Republic will for sure win the path to the Oval Office. That's why the conservative has tried hard to infat Obama. That's Republican strategy.

Mr. Rinnovato with all due respect : You really think the congress will vote for this 150 Billion plan? US needs to return to Clinton era : mo money in our pockets, medicare, intervention only wih UN suport to solve Kosovo poblem, stuff like that, that's the change America needs.

I AGREE. SHOW ME THE MONEY!

    • Posted By: soundscene @ 02/13/2008 7:58:16 PM

The economy lags. The economy in the 90s wasn't necessarily Bill Clinton's doing. You can't just enact a policy and have the economy react in an instant--it takes awhile. So the fact that Bill Clinton was elected on an upcycle is more chance than anything else. Ultimately, the economy will eb and flow. Often it is more the natural cycle that determines the position we're in at a particular moment rather than who's in office. Bill Clinton got lucky.

Having said that, there are policies that can tank an economy. But again, the results of such a policy would take years to play out.

I think it is indicative of Clinton???s leadership and management skills that she finds herself losing what should have been a sure thing. Her top campaign management is bailing out (or being fired) because they???ve blown it. She had to loan her own money to the campaign when she learned at a late date it was nearly broke. She had tremendous name recognition, DNC inside connections, and plenty of FOBs with tons of money when she started. I would be concerned for the country if she were elected president. Experience is great if it is used properly. After numerous campaigns with her husband, I don???t she has shown any great wisdom of experience in running a campaign, let alone running the nation. ???.One more comment about experience,???if that???s what it takes, the McCain has ten times more. If she wins the nomination, she will have to back-track on that one and think of something else to run on. Obama will not have to change a thing in his message.

first off Hillary is emotional I don't want a Presidant who is going to run our country on emoition . Next some people all the scandel around Hillary when her husband was in office his first term it wasn't about him it was involving her. Hillary is a poor excuse for a President and I can only hope people remember her for the loser that she is.

To all my Obama supporters, we all know that Obama is, and deserve to win this election. Everybody is taking all this inexperience non sense about Obama that just garage. Look at the facts Obama is raising millions of dollars, he as support from big name companies and countries. Clinton has all this so call experience and can even raise no money; she has to take loans to finance her negative campaigns. So what do you think so she going to do in the white office take loans and put America and American???s more into dept. Stop looking at the bias news and reading all this bias press. Obama is guaranteed to raise more money and is respected by more foreign governments then Clinton. Obama knows what he is running for and has the consistency of message and clarity of vision (yes we Can) that Hillary has never had (more loans and negative campaigns please). Obama bring hope to all American not just blacks??? or Hispanics??? but to all Americans. Obama has wisdom and a vision Clinton just has empty speeches.

    Obama for president.
