The fact Wal*Mart has these products in their store tells me we are finally getting what the people want. I am happy to see that most stores out there are stocking their shelves with adult products for the people that need them. We are a country that has the right to go into a store and buy what your looking for, and if its personal lubricant to enhance your sexual experience or to help your sexual experience, then we need it in all stores across the U.S.

now ,someone i know ,who works at wall mart told me that after they get their sex aid dept all set up,they have plans to install masturbation rooms ,similar to dressing rooms ,but equiped with comfortable adjustible bed couches ,and shelves around the walls with all the wares displayed thereon..they will charge by 5 minute segments for use of these rooms there will be male and female rooms. laater if the plan is a success they plan to offer attendants of either sex to assist the customer while they use the rooms. there of course will be an additional charge for this ,,although he said they may create a discount for roomuse depending on how much the customer spends on devices.,i asked if this isnt close to prostitution and he replied ,no, they consider it merchandising. the biggest obstacle he said will be the clean up of the room after each use and the lines that may form waiting to use the room. necesistating ,building additional rooms. there will be sinks, soap, and hot water,in the rooms and clean towels provided after each room use ..

additional ,,a further talk with my friend he revealed that they will not call these masturbation rooms ,,(of course not ),,they will be called health product evaluation rooms ,adults only ,or something similar,.yet to be decided .but they are deffinetly in the planning stage . i find it hard to believe someone visiting walmart couldn't wait til they get home to masturbate ,and have to do it in the store ,tjhat is gross.perhapsit's viewing the sexy chicks and hunks that work there as clerks ,that set them off ,,,yuk!!!!

also recently in our local walmart ,they arrested a man who was found behind the racks of women's dresses next to the underware with his trusers down fondling himself ,a lady shopper noticed him and keeping her wits, quietly informed store personel rather than screaming, and security pronptly took him into custody. but as they were escorting him to waiting police car, walking him through the store, ,his trousers kept falling down ,and they couldnt find way to hold them up.so an officer had to hold them up from the rear as they marched him out ,,so be careful in and among the clothing racks .

What's the big deal? My 11 year-old noticed last month that Walmart had a section on one pharmacy isle with Enzyte and other 'Mr. Big' pills. He learned about these 'potions' while watching a commercial on regular television, and asked us why that guy's wife was smiling, so we told him. So what if Walmart start to sell lube'? People have been buying Vasoline for years for the same purpose. Do you want Walmart consumers to use 10W-30 or WD40? Walmart is just going after the consumers who don't have specialty adult shops in their areas, are nervous about going into such stores, and/or don't have the resources/know-how to buy it on the internet. Why not throw a tube of lube in the basket while you're buying the latest 'Larry the Cable Guy' DVD and the rest of the groceries. Walmart wouldn't carry it if they didn't think there was a demand for it. What's wrong with that? Don't trailer people have the same right to have fun as Paris Hilton and the Spears girls? I say let them do it. We're too sexually-repressed in this country as it is. maybe next year they'll carry 'inflate-a-dates' .............

Your age group is a can of vomit. Why you're not an age group, you're a RACE! So that's why we're discussing a boycott!

What ever happened to self control self respect and morality? It seems anything goes as long as it is not a form of moral absolutes saying respect others and your self and control your urges.

    • Posted By: reiko-chan @ 02/16/2008 6:48:42 PM

I agree: People lose their religion when they leave the nest because their self-centered age group whose main goal is to spread s** around the world won't just give up! And I'd never sacrifice my religion to something that rotten!

There is good and bad in everything. There is also good and bad in sex of course. So as adults shouldn't we be intelligent enough to know the difference?? And responsible enough to know where this type of product should and shouldn't be sold?? No one is going take away your rights to be a pervert, just keep it out of family establishments like grocery stores! And yes...there are massagers in Wal-Mart but read the package you bunch of freaks they are being advertised to massage the back, sore muscles, and to sooth headaches. you can do whatever you want with them and with vegtables, but are they wrapped in sexually explicit packaging??? This product, the sex juice...keep it in the freak shops, and on line. When you go to a sex shop does it say "welcome kids"! No! It says you must be 18 to enter and they check your ID. Soooooo....Does this give a clue to any of you people trying to endorse the sales of sex products in the grocery store??

  • Posted By: BoomCrackerLacker @ 02/15/2008 10:50:20 AM

ahh duh if you have it in your home """The Kids""" already have access to it, sex education proves if you remove the mystique then you remove the curiousity.
our kids our making theses desisions all the time with or without our input. they they had condoms on the shelve for years and you still have to show them where they are.........lol

Talk about the "aah, duuh" industry!

  • Posted By: agrosales @ 02/13/2008 11:18:39 PM

I curently work in an adult specialty retail shop and news like this makes our job easier but really cuts into our profits. What this article failed to state as it described the adult industry is that there are many adult retailers that are not dirty and sleezy and that a few such as my employer actually do things in a way that is safe, tasteful and respectful so that the experience is available to everyone not just men. This is definitely a sign that things are easin up but we have a long way to go before there is a revolution. Dear author, please does the industry a favor by stating that we actually carry specialty lubricants and other products that are of far greater quality than that offered by the mass retailers.

    • Posted By: reiko-chan @ 02/14/2008 1:25:08 AM

I hate your age group. Let's get rid of it! Rid of it! Riiiiiiiiid of it, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid of it if the namesake of your age group is devoted to sex and the products of your age group are all rated X, the problem of your age group is there are way too many, life on the planet has become uncanny! Yeah! And that's not racism! As long as I live until twenty-one, mocking your age group is greater than fun, because your industry is such a big scam, you'll find it out the hard way that nobody gives a, well, you get it.

Three strikes against oneself xxx are very hard to bear, and because the fact that no one seems to care, and another fact of life is that life is not fair, so if you try to ask me a dumb question just GO ASK T.M. SQUARE!

Stop selling it! Stop watching it! Stop reading it! Stop hearing it! Stop tasting it! Stop doing it! Stop, stop, stop, stop, STOP! 666 to XXX! I pacifist I am, so quit your industry and realize that your evil has failed!

Mind you, that was my cousin Reiko whom you just offended, and one who offends Cortexes is unintelligent by all reason and socially challenged. Racketing is legal, but rioting and racketeering is not; racketry is the Cortex version of a campaign-protest rally, the latter has been embedded into various media including poetry, literature, the fine arts, and newspaper circulations. Normal, garden-variety human beings are animals, so let them commit whatever debauchery they are obliged to, whilst Cortexes, even though the term in singular is Latin for "armor", "rind", and "bark" (and has been applied usually to anatomical components, particularly in the brain), are not.

Intelligence conquers debauchery, and that moral has never experienced deviation from according to my distant hominid subspecies-culture-family.

I find it odd that lubricants and sex toys are put in the same category in this article. Wet lubricants are FDA approved medical devices that are sold in fun and bright, but tasteful packaging. It has been satisfying customers for 20 years now (myself included). I'm just happy to hear that I can get it at Walmart now. If you are not familiar with Wet yet I highly recommend that you check out their web site at StaysWETLonger.com. I have found their formulas to last longer, not get sticky like the others and have a more silky feel to them. They have been available at places like Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid for years now. Good to see that discount retailers like Walmart's pharmacy section is satisfying their customer's personal needs. I did notice they were up on the 3rd shelf. If the person is tall enough to get to it, chances are they are ready to understand about personal lubricants and condoms. That may actually keep them from acquiring HIV or getting someone pregnant some day.

  • Posted By: cmpg @ 02/15/2008 3:31:36 PM

This story certainly has succeeded in riling up the readers. Yes, sexual aids, i.e., lubricants, have been sold discreetly for generations. What seems to be agitating some folks here is that these products are openly displayed and discussed in the media. Is this the result of a repressed society's awakening? The prudish USA discovering the healthy topic of human sexuality?? Ha. This is all about $$$. Advertisers targeting the ever self-absorbed, omnipresent generation: The (Aging) Baby Boomers. Take a look at the ads we're inundated with: 60's background music is set to any and all commercials from cars to retirement funds; Middle aged men are show running for bathrooms in stadiums, movies, gas stations, etc., for prostate issues; Botox, wrinkle and adult diaper ads abound; White haired couples feverishly grope and make out in the back of a taxi for denture bond; Not to mention boomer couples ballroom dancing, smiling at each other slyly, sitting in separate claw footed tubs overlooking a cliff or ocean, and even, omg, 'talking to each other' in restaurants - all thanks to a little blue pill. LOL. Remember, the ME generation doesn't care if any of this is in everyone's face. They have been the focus of advertising since 1946. Don't go ape over it.

Obviously no one here has ever had sex for an extended period of time! Try having sex for a few hours with no lube, ouch!! As far as the laws in Alabama, let's just say, I am glad I don't live there!! Go lube!

    • Posted By: vbt78 @ 02/15/2008 12:42:13 PM

I do live in Alabama and the article has some inaccuracies about the local laws. There are several adult stores that sell lingerie, shoes, toys, DVDs, etc. The law is on the books but obviously not enforced as these businesses are thriving, have business licenses and pay sales taxes. And I'm not talking adult theater type places but similar to Good Vibrations, Adam & Eve, Toys in Babeland, etc.

      • Posted By: tantri7 @ 02/15/2008 2:49:35 PM

Again, glad I don't live in Alabama! You mention the stores there carry items of an adult nature but you didn't list lubricant. Give lubricant the credit it is due, yay lube!! ps Probe is one of the very finest...

  • Posted By: phiomalibumalibu @ 02/15/2008 2:36:54 PM

I have to repeat! risqué items should be removed from the shelves......I think it is important for those who are young NOT to be exposed. Just order online thru places like vibratorsource.com and abcsextoy.com or if you are a guy use herbalsize.com You can get stuff overnight... It's too much for our young.

  • Posted By: jgb2004 @ 02/14/2008 4:51:11 PM

I think it's hilarious how this upsets anyone. The article even explained how the packaging is very discreet and everything. Obviously items sold in WalMart and the like will not have obscene images on them. There is really no reason to be against this unless you're against condoms even being available at large retail stores.
People have sex, get over it. And, a vibrator provides safe sex and for some people it provides a better experience than a partner can alone.
So stop being so judgemental annoyinguisfun. Haha, now that I actually read your name, I can see it's pointless to talk to you anyway. Oh well.

Wow...you take things really litterally don't you? I don't remember even adressing that to you anyway. If you didn't sense the sarcasm you might be clueless. Who really uses the phrase "hella fine" in this day and age? Hmmmm...maybe i wasn't being serious???? Sorry you have no sense of humor.

          I'm just saying...

    • Posted By: annoyinguisfun @ 02/14/2008 5:26:33 PM

You sure know how to read carefully...that was one product that was discreetly packaged at a drug store. The product "Wet" explained how the package was blush-worthy and you'd think it was hiding behind a curtain at the back of the store, and that no it was not hiding it was plainly viewable near the contraceptives. Talk about selective reading, typical male ha! ha! Gotta luv ya!

interesting comments. the world can be divided (roughly) into 2 camps: those who want people to be controlled, and those who do not. no one on this forum who has objected to the sale/display/existence of personal sexual health products has done so on the grounds that he wishes to be protected from himself (from something he wants to do but knows he shouldn't;) rather, the objections are based on protecting other people from themselves -- a pathetic position (as it indicates an inablilty to focus on the most simple of self-preservation principle and also as a significant marker of several significant mental illnesses) yet sadly all too sucessful in legislation. In my copious spare time, I may provide a count of the control/non-control posts; some stats on this might be interesting to some of y'all too.

It is easy to find the naive ones, just look for the ones whose parents are angry about anything sex related, hell churches are some of the best places to troll. Ever been to a Baptist convention? Religion or not you will get yours in the end. I hope I will be there to watch. There will never be any Heaven on earth as long as things like you are allowed to live. It is idiots and morons like you that make people like Humpty and my father able to do what they do. You can sit with him on the ground as the stoning begins. You are the petty and the disgrace to humanity. Peope like you bleeding heart religious fools make me sick. You are no better than the pedophiles and rapists you try to protect. I think this author is wrong to lump together vibrators and lubricants. So maybe women who want to buy vibrators should have to go online or by mail; some people get very upset over the topic of masturbation (remember the surgeon general who got fired for discussing it a few years ago?) However, vaginal dryness is a real medical condition and it is uncomfortable. Why shouldn't a woman be able to treat it,, whether she's planning to have sex or not??? This author needs to chill out a little.

    • Posted By: bob j @ 02/15/2008 2:09:52 AM

you are absolutely right ,,a lady should have right to purchase and apply anywhere ,anytime .as far as joycelen elders getting fired ,,it wasnt really talking about masturbation ,but it was when she said if your child is having problem doing ,just reach yo hand down in his pants and help the little fellow out . this would constitute ,incest and or sexual abuse of a minor ,the way she said it ,,it was an embarrassement for the govt and she had to go,,but remember hillary decorating the christmas tree in the whitehouse with sex toys and condums ,ect ,,nothing was said about that.,wonder what kinnd of lubricant ,bill used on his cigars? for monica.

Why doesn't anything surprise me anymore?? Society wonders what's happening to our youth....well take a look at yourself!! Crap like this is what's happening.....the rise of STDs, the rise of teen and pre-teen pregnancy.....Society glamorizes sex enough as it is without adding a section for sex toys to retail stores. I have three daughters under the age of 10 and if I begin to see these types of items popping up at Wal-Mart, or Target, or any other store that I frequent, it will be the last visit I make. I'll take my money to more respectable businesses who have more value for family.

Product exposeure could lead to inquiries from children that could result in conversations with and education from parents that would be more informative and effective than the currently popular dysfunctional "Just say no" tactic. It could provide results of admitting to children WARNING--DIRTY PART COMING- HIDE, HIDE!!!! Children are a product of S.E.X . If we educate rather than deny they will stand a better chance of coping with todays life pressures.

As a father, I have a couple questions: One, would you like to expalin to your three year old what a vibrator is in the grocery store, or discover that your 12 year old daughter bought a vibrator from the local drug store on her way back from school?

For RADSAX, It is not the idea of being prudish or being "religous", but what is acceptable to this society. Are you willing to accept these concequences that we are putting out not only for ourselves, but the next generation as well without any type of guidance?

Another question for RADSAX,: What do you call "sexually liberated"? Should we go back to the Roman times where they had open public orgies? Or how about where incest and pedophia was not only accepted, but encouraged (whether the younger participant was willing or not)? Tell me where do you draw the line, or do you not want to draw a line at all? Remember where you draw the line, your chidren and grandchildren will folllow suit. This is not for religous or morality, but for your own conscience in thinking beyond yourself. Would you want your children to bear the brunt of your actions?

    • Posted By: Terrils @ 02/14/2008 2:02:00 PM

Sorry to break this to you, but practically by definition, if WalMart's selling it, it IS acceptable to society.

      • Posted By: Humptydumpty @ 02/14/2008 3:58:35 PM

If your 12 yr old daughter brings home a vibrator, ask her to video tape it, those sell for good money :D

      • Posted By: annoyinguisfun @ 02/14/2008 3:28:41 PM

Wal Mart sells guns and ammunition too. Weapons aren't accepted by everyone in society. It's good to know that your on the un-politically correct end of the conversation. If one of our presidential contendors said that sex toys should be available at Wal Mart and at every corner store would you vote for that person? Just because this country is free do you think sexual pedators should be free to run the streets??

    • Posted By: aragarc @ 02/14/2008 12:48:20 PM

i would much rather my daughter be comfortable enough to buy a vibrator and bring it home than to be out having sex and getting pregnant at the age of 12 years old.
