Comment: Hillary Clinton uses the vehicle of 'Universal Health care' , which sounds good, but when you read further into what she is REALLY attempting to do, you will see the fascist attitude that is evolving from this vehicle called 'Universal Health Care' that she is continually touting about as if it is the 'savior of this country'. Hillary could end up being worse than Bush ever was, because of the clever way in which the Clinton machine can charm the brains right out of people's heads, so much so, that people won't even READ and do their own RESEARCH to see what is really being revealed from Hillary's lips. Times columnist Andres writes. He adds that, "despite her reassuring rhetoric" that her health care proposal is not a "government takeover" and contains no "new bureaucracy," Clinton proposes to "use the heavy hand of government" to require all residents to obtain health insurance. Her "near-religious zeal to force universal coverage strikes some as odd," Andres writes, adding, "Why compel someone to buy something he or she can't afford?" According to Andres, the "financial penalties for those who fail to purchase insurance ... stirs significant opposition," and Clinton "opened a political can of worms" when she said that she might seek to garnish the wages of residents who can afford health insurance but do not obtain coverage. "Improving health care is a salient bread-and-butter election issue this year," Andres writes, adding, "Compelling everyone to buy a product, whether he wants it or not ... sounds more like a mandate for defeat than a promise of political success" (Andres, Washington Times, 2/14).

Comment: Comment: Clinton is not 'promising' to overhaul the healthcare system and she is certainly not going to REVAMP the healthcare system. The only thing that Clinton is promising is to FORCE those who do not have healthcare under a supervised controlled government healthcare initiative in which she will force all immigrants, all employees, all business owners and all self employed to have a mandated health insurance program or be heavily punished through fines, such as when driving an automobile and being pulled over and fined for not having your car insurance, AND with this TAX (BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT IS) she will FORCE everyone to carry a chip-holding insurance card with a GPS system to which besides having all of your medical records, will have a government tracking device, so that if you are pulled over by a police man and you did not have your health insurance card you would be fined for not having this insurance. Clinton "will use the heavy hand of government", her quote, to enforce the citizens to this "tax program" called "UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE". PEOPLE WILL BE FINED, WAGES GARNISHED. WHICH COULD MEAN, $150-$200 COMING OUT OF YOUR PAYCHECK. THIS IS THE GREATEST TRICKERY OF ALL TIME. READ, RESEARCH, AND VOTE OBAMA.

Why is it that we will spend billions of dollars to rebuild Iraq and not provide universal health care? I mean, if we will give literally billions of dollars to Halliburton to rebuild Iraq, our tax dollars mind you, why is it so unpalatable to think that we could have, dare I say it "socialized medicine"? We will blast countries back to the stone age, but will make our seniors and poor decide whether to eat or pay for their medicine? There is just something inherently wrong with that.

According to my high school government class, presidents don't make laws, only ratify them. Thus Hillary's health care plan must get through congress before it becomes law, and she hasn't said how she plans to woo over enough Republican support to make the bill reach her desk. It is like the Iraq war, Democrats can't pass a timetable for withdrawl without 2/3 vote.
Hillary has not offered even the beginnings of a plan to get the support it needs, and I can see these mandates being a real sticking point with Republicans. Only Obama can get the working majority to make change.
Mandates won't work! I know how poor people are here in Michigan, they won't buy insurance, they won't pay the fines. They just do NOT have the money in cities like Flint and Saginaw Michigan. And what if the fines for not having insurance pile up? Would they not act as a barrier to getting insured, if the individual must pay up the fines first before getting insurance? Then we would have a permanent underclass of uninsured persons, who owe so much in accumulated fines that they will NEVER acheive their dream of having healthcare. To forgive the fees would undermine the whole system. Face it Hillary, mandates won't work.

What Hillary supporters fail to realize is that you CANNOT go kicking people's doors in an hauling them off to jail for not doing what Hillary commands. You cannot FORCE people to buy insurance, and this "trust us, we know what's good for you" line won't wash, either. Make no mistake, Clintonistas, as soon as her plan is put in place, and the first wage garnishments (let's not forget, either, that in many companies a wage garnishment is grounds for immediate termination... stealing their money and getting them fired... won't THAT help working people!) start appearing on people's pay stubs, the fury of the masses will strike congress like a nuclear blastwave. To save their own careers, they will impeach her. The democratic party will be utterly destroyed as a party of thieves and liars, and no politican will even be able to utter the words "universal healthcare" for another 50 years at least. Her plan is not universal healthcare, it's blackmail... this is a simple fact.

Universal Health Care is a bandage. The health care industry does not need a bandage. It needs an overhaul. Until we start making fundamental changes in the way health insurance companies operate and the way health care is administered, we will not see any change for the better. All subsidies will do is line the pockets of health insurance corporations and increase our national debt once the cost of this program spirals out of control just like Social Security.

I agree. We are so busy wondering how to pay for health coverage instead of asking what we are paying for. Our health care system is broken. Despite major advances in medical interventions, Americans are less healthy than ever before. Why? Because we do not reward people for living healthy lifestyles, we over-medicate and we think that an absence of disease is the same thing as being healthy. It is not.
      being health. absence of disease

Obama, is a very good speaker. But, HE IS THE MOST INEFFICIENT DEBATER. It is not the same to take the stage talk and shout, THAN ANSWER QUESTIONS.
I do not understand why dose that voted for him allowed to brainwash you with his shouting and memorized words.
Do you think he will solve the problems by saying ???I did not sing for the war in Irak?
Why is it that people gets impress by shutting and nice words?

We need SOLUTION ??? NOT - ILLUCION.

    HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to debate politics then please first learn how to spell the words you are attempting to write.
      those not dose
      Iraq not Irak
      shouting not shutting
      illusion not illucion
Cleaning up your grammar would help immensely as well.

I went to court the judge.judge elizabeth toole did not let me present my case or present evidence as is the custom in small claims court in NYS. She is a republican judge I am a former democraric county comittieman. So is the way of this repiblican judge and her party. For she dismissed my case without explination even though I had plenty of evidence to win under a fair and just judge.
For this reason if Hillary looses I wil not vote McCain the repiblican party simply does not care about justice.
I also know if this race vote continues on to the general election much greater injustices will follow at the hands of Obamas race based support the greatest injustice being to democeracy, and at least 4 more years of the pary with its foot on the throat of the middle class.
Discussion of healthcare are illelevant when justice ia judge turning prosecutor and judge in one allowing pergury and looking to throu the case out without even allowing the presentation of the case.

Obama's plan want to leave it up to the parents . He never thought many poor kids have broken homes.

I live in Massachusetts where a Hillary-style health insurance mandate is in place. I know plenty of folks that are simply too disorganized or do not have the wherewithal to sort through the paperwork and get their insurance straightened out. To slap these people with fines is inconscionable. Obama's plan is far and away the more reasonable of the two.

You all have very good points of view on both sides, I personally wanted H. Clinton and in the beginning.. themn ionce i educated myself on the facts, especailly making it a law and garnishing my wages.. is she crazy? Or does she first haave to pay back all the lobbiest??? Not with my hard earn money.. 3 kids and yes we do have insurance, but I DO NOT BELIEVE SHE SHOULD MAKE US CHOOSE TO EAT OR THO HAVE HEALTH CARE. I know it is very important, but will she first reduce all cost? No- EDucation is important, minority kids are beilng left behind.. They Dont even have books- wheres all the taxes going that gets taken out of our checks??
I WANT CHANGE- I WANT SOME ONE THAT WILL Make that difference.. What about 10 -20 years from now, where will your child be. Will he or she be able to compete against the rest of the world? Open your mind.. Re the war, I dont personally want us over there as OUR young people are dieng - not President Bush family but regualr hard working people.. kids ..YET at the same time I also Agree with Obama- if we sleep and are not prepared to retalliate against whom so ever threatens then we will fall..IT IS TIME TO MAKE A DIFFERANCE, I dont want any more of my $ to go to the HMO's. I dont want my kids left behind. I dont want my mother not being able to get help because she is disabled through work.. I dont want to see a child that parents came here years ago - from a baby still an illegal immigrant yet educated in our school system, bright aspiring younng minds. These people are an asset to us- all of us -including the rich Republicans. IT IS TIME..

    • Posted By: emmarcee @ 02/15/2008 2:48:34 PM

Ok, Looks like you don't want anything to CHANGE in the health care system. But keep your mom's disability check to come in, pay less to HMOs, legalise immigrants hmm, .. I think most people ptching for Obama should vote for Mccaine at the end. Must be your inside republican talking.. come out we will accept you..

  • Posted By: cookiecndy @ 02/15/2008 2:43:27 PM

Obama or Hillary, whichever, all I know is if McCain or any other Republician gets in then it's over for anyone who isn't rich.

I do not understand why we American people get brainwash so easy.
MOVEMENT? A movement only brings: DISORDER.
Obama, does not speak as candidate, HE SPEAKS AS AN ACIVIST. Please do not get confused.
Remember the movement in Watts California. This is what you want?
Movement does not bring positive change. In the contrary is the worst it can happen.

WOMEN OF AMERICA, THIS IS THE OPORTUNITY WE HAVE TO VALIDATE OUR VOTE. LEST CHANGE AMERICA HELPING SOMEONE THAT ALREADY HAS THE KNOWLAGE TO FIGHT FOR AMERICA.

HILLARY IS A HARD WORKING WOMAN.
WHEN IT COMES TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OR TO DEFEND HER COUNTRY, SHE IS AN IRON WOMAN. SHE IS FRAGILE AS A WOMAN, BUT, STRONG AS AN ELEFANT TO DEFEND HER BELIEVES, AND HER COUNTRY.

We pay taxs,if we don't IRS will garnish your check. So this would be no different. So bring it on big time, tax me.Will be better than my HMO.

    • Posted By: emmarcee @ 02/15/2008 11:52:16 AM

Karen, what you said is very true. I will love to see these HMO behemoths extinct. Middlemen are killing our country.

      • Posted By: Time for Change @ 02/15/2008 12:05:07 PM

In that cast we'd just have a bigger middleman--Uncle Sam.

        • Posted By: emmarcee @ 02/15/2008 1:17:12 PM

I see it very interesting that "Time for Change" really does not want any chane in the current broken health care system. Think people just want a change in color. We can request Hillary to tan really well.. As Bill said we cannot hope to change her into being a man and tall.

    • Posted By: Time for Change @ 02/15/2008 10:08:52 AM

Why dont we mandate everything and have no freedom at all?
