3960 casualties in the War in Iraq since it began. 4000 casualties EACH DAY in America by abortion. No candidate deserves to be president who isn't keeping the 2nd issue at the forefront.

VERY WELL SAID!
I think its interesting that you believe that there have only been 3960 casualties in Iraq. Apparently Iraqi lives don't count. Do you realize that the death toll in Iraq and Afganistan is AT LEAST 100,000 since 2001, and more likely closer to 300,000! I think its time you opened up your myopic little eyes and see the big picture.
Looks like a mohammed convert to the church of Obama has arrived. Welcome, all comments are encouraged. One thing though. OBAMA IS A MOHAMMED!!!
NO TO MOHAMMED!!!!
Just another example of the racist foundation of the GOP. Thanks for helping to fuel the Progressive fire!
Since you used the word, I have a question. How in heck did the Democrates steal the word progressive?
It sounds so positive, but when you really examine the meaning there is very little positive about it. Kill unborns, steal earned wealth, force perverted sex practices on our children, and discourage individualism. Not very progressive, huh. Kinnda like homosexuals stealing "gay". Can't even sing my favorite Christmas carol anymore.
But I'm not racist, I just hate demons!!!
Good Lord, I hope and pray the average voting American is not as stupid as a large number of people who submitted these posts. Romney throws his weight to McCain. "He's a flip-flopper"!, some scream. "He's being paid by the GOP to do it!", said one moron. "He's been conspiring with McCain to do this for weeks! (which would mean even before Super Tuesday) says another. "Romney has no guts for the fight!", others whine.
Hey, I know......
HOW ABOUT ROMNEY DROPPED OUT BECAUSE THE COUNTRY DIDN'T SUPPORT HIM ENOUGH AND HE CONCLUDED THAT EVEN IF HE DID WIN THE NOMINATION THE PROLONGED FIGHT MIGHT CAUSE HIM TO LOSE THE NATIONAL ELECTION AND NOW HE FEARS THE SAME FOR MCCAIN WHICH WOULD MEAN THE DEMOCRATS WOULD WIN AND IRAQ LOSES AND THEREFORE THE TERRORISTS WIN WHICH WOULD IN EVERY WAY BE B - A - D FOR OUR COUNTRY!
Naw, couldn't possibly be that......
(and a special note to the horribly offended weeney out there (there's got to be at least one of you) who's hurt because I "yelled" in my post......hey, I know. How about you try listening for a change so that the rational people on this board would't need to?
My cheer is not so much "Go McCain!" as it is "Kill the terrorists before they kill us!" You know, like they did on 9-11.....
Just curious, is your fear mongering just a way of justifying your love of weapons, terrorists are an issue not because they hate Americans but because of their religious fundamentalism, something I am seeing with increasing regularity over here, just a different god, no it is the same god, no or is it, I always get confused on this one.
MOHAMMEDS WORSHIP AN ANGEL. SOME CALL HIM LUCIFER, SOME SATAN. MOHAMMEDS CALL HIM ALLAH.
Hey Danny-Looks like you and I have found some common ground. I give credit where credit is due. Romney did good. Help me out. I have one thing to say,
NO TO MOHAMMED!!!!
I have read through a lot of the comments here and I must say that I like you, Retired Marine and capmaroni (or something like that) the best. You guys seem to be practical, logical, and real. Keep up the good fight.
Good job..... you said it very well.
I don't get, even after reading the article, why Huckabee is still in the race. McCain is the nominee, period. SERIOUSLY!
Huck has his reasons, and McCain seems to understand. Let's just agree on one issue. NO YO MOHAMMED!!!!
Romney clearly made this endorsement to cater to the Republican stablishment. he has no principles and will go whichever way the wind blows. I notice that McCain still does not have the required number of delegates, so the race still continues on. My vote is for Huckabee; I'll cast it on March 4th in TX and hope it takes Mike all the way to the Convention. Everyone needs to have a voice in this important election, and I'm sick of the Republican establishment trying to get their own way. The people can still vote, and those in the Republican "must win" states have overwhelmingly voted for Huckabee. Wake up, GOP, or the Democrats will win by a landslide. The only hope we have is the populist voice of Mike Huckabee!!!
No principles? If anyone lacks principles, it's Huckabee. He and McCain are both classic narcissists, but Huckabee's losing and can't face the fact.
Why did Romney endorse McCain? Three words- Supreme Court Justices. I cannot tolerate McCain and will have a very hard time voting for him. That said, I think PERHAPS he is the least of three evils. Romney knows this. We had the chance to vote for a president we could really be proud of. MITT ROMNEY! We blew it. I can only hope he is gracious enough to allow us to remedy this in 2012!
hope that he is gracious enough to allow us to remedy that in 2012.
Two weeks after declaring "Washington is broken and John McCain is part of the problem", Mitt secures a backroom deal and performs his greatest flip-flop of all. I guess it's not terribly surprising, but I wish the GOP brass understood that people are tired of politics as usual, and sickened by this type of insincerity. Romney is the most artificial politician seen in recent years, and he just proved it. I hope his delegates flock to support the ONE authentic Conservative- indeed, the one authentic PERSON- left in the race: Governor Mike Huckabee.
Oh Huckabee is authentic. He's an authentic, spitefull, jealous, angry-but-pretending-to-be-happy-go-lucky, religious bigot. There is NO question. On this, he has not wavered.
His candidacy, EVEN NOW, is consistently defined by his dislike for Romney. He continues to make clever little digs at Romney. Now seriously, who wants someone as President who can't just get over it all ready. He reminds me of Russia's Putin. Get him in office, some world leader will make him feel bad and he'll stop and nothing in his drive for retribution. It is a wonderful "Christian" quality.
You apparently did not read the cyhunter Solomon effect. Huckabee is a putz
Romney is obviously being paid by the party - either in a future opportunity, or in cold hard cash. Its the only explanation for his unexpected departure, and his unbelievable endorsement.
Jose . . . you're a very poor judge of character . . . do you suppose for a moment that the 'party' paid Romney back as much as he 'invested' while running for the nomination? I don't think so.
yeah... ok. And Huckabee and McCain weren't in bed together to beat out Romney? Come on. Politician are politicians.
Hey, halftime... if you don't have enough money, you are not performing a good enough service for your fellow humans. This is America and anything is possible, but you have to "work" for it and be of service to others in order to have it come back to you. I raised 4 kids with no child support and no public assistance because I knew it was my responsibility and not anyone else's. Get off your entitlement mentality horse and get to work.
Obviously reading is not one of your strong suits, I said I am a full time skilled trades worker as for being America and anything is possible, then one day we could all be peace loving democrats, but having said that I would have to imply by your statement that McCain just wanted it more than Romney or Huckabee. Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure you didn't bring that clean water into your house or build that street out front or, but of course you did, you wouldn't want anyone thinking you may be entitled.
Maybe then you just need to invest wisely. I did look for a home with clean water and paved streets.. you are right about that, but it also comes in the price paid for the home. I worked hard enough to afford the comfort level I desired. Your comments are noted.
Romney is obviously being paid by the party - either in a futrue opportunity, or in cold hard cash. Its the only possible explanation for his sudden departure, and his unexpected (and unbelievable) endorsement. No one in the GOP makes a decision based on free thought or personal beliefs.
Maybe you would be swayed, but honorable men are not. Look again.
Men of honor do make their decisions based on the good of the whole, not on payoffs.... think again
I am surprised that our preacher turned polititian Mike Huckabee cannot draw the biblical comparison between himself and Mitt Romney . Remember the story of King Soloman when two women were fighting over which was the mother of the baby and Soloman said he would have the child cut in half - one woman instantly said the child was not hers - and Soloman knew she was the true mother. Mitt Romney knows that the party must unite NOW if we are to be ready for our opponent in Nov. He has enough love for the party, the future of our country and the values we represent to step aside and let the "baby" live.. I was uncommitted before, and not really considering Romney. This has helped me to see both him and Huckabee in a different light. Romney is the true Republican, the true American - and so it seems, the candidate with true Christian values.
Great comparison!!! That should be understandable to the bible thumpers.
cyhunter... very insightful thought on the biblical comparison. Thank you.
It was buisness values, not christian values that led Romney into making his decision, just backing the horse that is going to win the race, doesn't want to be left on the outside looking in. Huckabee a least is sticking to his ideological beliefs that repubs would be better off with him than McCain. As for the barbarity of the King Solomon story, yikes! P.S. Romney not a candidate anymore, should have seen his virtuousness a little sooner, wink, wink.
Hey, cyhunter. That was a good comparison with Solomon and a great argument. I agree with you about Romney being the true Christian. Huckabee's "Christians" are judgemental and snipey. That is not Christ like... Hello tornado....
To Adirondackal - actually it's just politics. Huck is in the race to keep his 2012 candidacy and to surpass Mitt, whom it seems is not well liked by Huck also. Mitt sees that if Huck can get a few here and there, and ends up surpassing him in deligates, it would not bode well for Mitt's 2012 bid. So, cut Huck off ar the pass... become the king-maker. As for Huck - he's a tax-and-spend, social conservative, who fiscal conservatives don't like either. My guess is he's in this to be the new Leader of the Moral Majority.
Go Mac! He'll win the presidency DESPITE the reactionary right. It's time the loopy fart right-wing of the party gets its own "thumpin"!
Do you think Huckabum can learn math and to stay home instead of at the Holiday Inn Express in the next 4 years???? Stupid is still stupid. Get real.
Huckabee has stayed consistent throughout this entire process...and that is among many reasons why so many millions of us will continue to support him! We can TRUST what he says; we can TRUST that he would keep OUR interests topmost in his mind, not his; and we can TRUST him to bring this nation back to the moral principles and values it once represented! WE NEED HUCK MORE THAN EVER!
Consistently plays a guitar, stays at the Holiday Inn Express, and doesn't know math...hmmmm you can be consistent and sincere, but still be WRONG!!!!
Yes, he has been quite consistent about attacking other people's faith
Interesting. Looking at Huckabee's record, "trust" is not the first word that comes to mind. He's been cited on numerous ethics violations. Just because he's a southern Baptist minister doesn't mean he's trustworthy.
Again, Romney shows he's a patriot, willing to be part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. Huckabee should watch and learn.
You are so right (correct).
Mitt Romney has accomplished everything in life that is left for him to do except one thing--to become President of the United States. I believe he spent untold hours of time and money (approx. 40 million) to make a difference. From what I can tell, like his father (who he adores), he wanted to make a difference. Time will tell that Romney will be true to his conservative principles. His parents really were not conservative politicians. I believe he is for real. One of the best speeches I have heard any politician give in the last 20 years was the speech he gave when he withdrew from the race. That was not faked. He has a real belief system that stands up to the naysayers and critics of the liberal left and the minority bigots in the Republican party. Whatever Romney does in the future, we need to take notice. Just like American reacted to watergate in electing Jimmy Carter who promised change, America will elect Obama. Obama will fall flat on his face. He won't last 4 years. He will be a lame duck in his second year into the presidency. Obama does not share the beliefs of mainstream America. He is the highest rated liberal in the US Senate. There is no way he will be able to bring Europe's socialism to the United States. Romney is someone to look for in 2012.
Nice job. If you will notice, Romney read his speech for supporting McCain. I think this is because he swallowed pride to do it. Pride is a horrible thing which will not let people like McCain who bashed Romney to apologize for being underhanded. Romney is an honorable man and he did it for the good of the country. Only stupid people cannot see this.
Prior to this campaign I knew very little about Romney. Although some of his positions have changed he defended these changes throughly and persuasevly in my opinion. Although I do think McCain distorted his statements concerning a timetable for withdraw in Iraq, Romney was able to rise above any animosity he has for McCain and support the candidate he feels is the best to move this country forward. I don't know how anybody in the republican party could be anything but impressed with Romney. As for Huckabee, he has run a very good campaign and has been a very impressive voice for the social conservatives and their issues, which are a vital part of the republican party. He also has every right to stay in the race as long as he wishes in order to advance the issues and policies he thinks are important to the nation and party. In the end McCain is going to be the nominee, and although he is not my first choice he is infinitely better than Obama or Clinton. I hope my fellow conservatives recognize this and ultimately support McCain.
Nice job; however, I think Huckabee is a putz. You were much nicer to him.
He was against McCain before he was for him.... :-) I wonder if any of Romney's delegates could actually declare for Huckabee? Is there a dealine before the "freed" delegates have to say whom they will support? Or are they now become like the Democrats' Super-delegates? From the pictures I saw of this announcement, McCain still hd a pretty sour look on his face when Romney spoke.
I would like to see the Romney delegates pull the McCain delegates to their side. Wouldn't that be fun!!!!!
"rlbwolfnet", enough with the "Romney's a flip-flopper" crap. The media had a field-day on Romney for his "flip-flopping": sold a lot of newspapers and magazines and made a lot of money and generally enjoyed themselves mocking the man. Only one little problem.....Romney wasn't a flip-flopper. You're either: a) a fool for believing that he was or b) a fool for believing that he was. Take your pick.
And yes, I agree with you. In Romney's announcement yesteray, he still looked plenty PO'd at Romney. Not quite the expression you think a man would have for having just gained the political support of (in this race) his greatest enemy. I agree with Mitt wholeheartedly: I think McCain is far too liberal to represent the core of true American values, he gets angry and snideful far too easily, he doesn't look or speak very Presidential and his morals go from being flat out wrong to questionable. However, he will keep America fare more safe than the Democrat candidates who would essentially turn their tails and run out of Iraq. And yet, once again, in the media's incredible stupidity, they claim that Romney is only selfishly posturing himself for 2012 instead of supporting McCain because he knows that AMERICA can NOT afford to lose the war on terrorism.
My hope? That McCain graciously offers Romney the VP and Romney wins in 2012.
What was so touching was this love was found for one another on Valentine's Day. Huck may seem like a pest to Mac right now, but just because he is the obvious winner doesn't mean the other team should lose all honor walking off the field in the third quarter. Despite the inevitable outcome a team fights for it's fans who paid to see the game and also for experience for the next season. Huck has a right to stay in and few believe Mitt is worried about the good of the party. Mitt is worried about image.
Mitt is certainly not worried about his image. If he were, he would have stuck in the race to the end and fought McCain all the way to the convention. What so many people don't seem to understand is that Mitt Romney has nothing to gain by becoming the president but a chance to make a difference in the world. He has nothing to prove. Romney bowed out of the race for the same reason that he entered it - for the good of the country.
Good job.... no one seems to remember the fact that Romney worked his job as Governor and took to salary for it. He would have "volunteered" to be President and taken no salary for it. I wish the Senators and Congressmen would realize this fact .... that they are servants to the people.
AMEN brother, AMEN!
Absolutely amazing how blind they are, isn't it?
Just call me "Heleman".....
ROMNEY ENDORSED McCAIN BECAUSE HE DISLIKES HUCKABEE and he wants the republicans to win so he can maximize his profits.
Sounds good to me. I would like to maximize my investments too.
The Presidency is not supposed to be OJT (on the job training). None of the candidates have any experience running anything. Romney was the only candidate who had started and run a successful business. I don't know what people are thinking if , infact, they are thinking. The really scary reality today is that the human animal is not intelligent but reactive like all other animals and has no common sense - that will kill the planet within 40 years or less. It is absolutely necessary for us to develop a test that meassures common sense. Bush has clearly demonstrated that he has none and it has been a fiasco for our country.
Don't forget that Bush was handed a mess of 8 years of stupidity in taking care of skirts rather than security. He has done okay for what he had to work with.
Mike Huckabee has 10+ years of executive experience, with a very accomplished record to prove it. He doesn't need OJT.
Is he going to teach everyone how to play the guitar and stay at a Holiday Inn Express?????? Get real.
From what I've heard, we "won" the governorship of AR the first time because his boss, the governor, got thrown out of office for criminal activity. Then, while he was in office he raised taxes and commuted sentences of criminals who then went out and committed even more disgusting crimes.
Yeah, I'd say that's a good track record.....
