    More lipstick on that elephant won't make it fly. McCain is in the past, the glory days for Republican,Corp.Military complex lying and cheating. McCain more of the same, only he shorter than Bush.

    I am awfully sorry, in my earlier comment I did not mean "Huckabee the flipflop, but Romney the Flipflop". Thanks for including my correction.

    What John McCain and the Republican Party have in common is their position between a rock and a hard place. It is interesting to note that with the exception of Mike Huckabee, and, to an extent, Huckabee the flipflop, none of the major candidates in this year's primaries seemed to fit the image of a true conservative completely. Is that because the party knew right from the start that the only way of winning in November was by reaching out to the center? How to square the latter with retaining, or re-inventing, whatever may be left of a political philosophy worth its name, seems a herculean task for McCain.
