    Comment: Believe in Yourself

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were
meant to be there. To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or
help figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be but when you lock eyes with them, you
know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible,
painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will
    power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of
good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small
tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you
experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned
from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.

If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because
they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they
love you, but because they are teaching you to love and to open your heart
and eyes to little things. Make every day count.

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can,
for you may never be able to experience it again.

Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let
yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a
great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in
yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life and then go
    out and live it.

"If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see are obstacles."

    The Impossible Dream

    Lyrics by Joe Darion
    Music by Mitch Leigh

    To dream the impossible dream,
    to fight the unbeatable foe,
    to bear with unbearable sorrow,
to run where the brave dare not go.

    To right the unrightable wrong,
to love pure and chaste from afar,
to try when your arms are too weary,
    to reach the unreachable star.

    This is my quest,
    to follow that star --
    no matter how hopeless,
    no matter how far.

    To fight for the right
    without question or pause,
to be willing to march into hell for a
    heavenly cause.

And I know if I'll only be true to this
    glorious quest
that my heart will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this,
that one man scorned and covered with scars
still strove with his last ounce of courage.
    To reach the unreachable stars.

Comment: Jonathan Alter: Thanks for the article. I always appreciate your insight and I think you are very even-handed in your analysis of the political landscape. I only have one question for you: how do you explain the types of posts put on the Newsweek blog.. versus those on, say, the NYTimes.com blog?? I am shocked everytime I read the comments on here, because it seems like the majority of the people say the most ignorant things and are that absolute worst of what America has to offer!! This is not a blog for intelligent, policy debate with other concerned voters... it's a place for voters whose main concerns are religion and race to come and post their bigoted views. Is it as disheartening for you as it is for me??

Comment: Is experience the best word to describe McCain? McCain's "experience" includes promoting the disastrous war in Iraq The Islamic fundamentalists, whom McCain targets as public enemy # 1, are gaining ground everywhere in the world thanks laregly to our misguided policies in Iraq. We are trillions of dollars in debt . And although McCain pledges no new taxes, he's gung-ho on new military adventures in Iran - in spite of the reality that such an attack will even generate more terrorists. Is this any one's idea of "experience"? When you pursue the same failed policy over and over again and expect different results, that's not experience - it's insanity. That would be a better word for McCain's so-called experience.

Comment: This is in response to Hollyroller's comment earlier about today's youth. First, the only thing I agreed with was the part about not paying taxes, as a lot of youth (and by that I'm assuming you mean teenagers) don't have jobs, yet. But not taking risks? Resisting drugs, alcohol, smoking and peer pressure to "fit in" isn't taking risks? Not making hard decisions? Finding the right college and picking your career doesn't count as making a hard decision? When I was in college, I knew many people my age who were very interested in the direction this country is going, because we knew we'll be picking up the pieces when the older gereration is dead and gone. You may want to reconsider your views on this one - because someday those "youth" will be changing your diapers!

Comment: I agree that Jimmy Carter wasn't the greatest President we've ever had, but I do think that he is a descent, kind man who truly cares about people. As a Christian, Holyroller, I would expect you to respect that. As for the Gipper, I'll politely agree to disagree with you. And before you write back to further insult me, just for the record, I did not vote for Jimmy Carter and I didn't vote for the Gipper either.

Comment: I'm sure you didn't vote for Cater or Reagan. Your not old enough. That's my point. As for Carter, he almost destroyed this country. We became the laughingstock of the entire mohammed community. Ronald W Reagan saved our country. He restored pride to America, he intimidated the mohammeds into retreat, he reversed the economic disaster we were in, he won the Cold War, he put GOD back in charge. He was the right man at the right time. Same as McCain. And I don't mean to insult you; just correct you. I hope you grow up to see things realistically not idealistically.

Comment: HERE'S yOUR pROOF HALLOW. I AM VERy GLAD yOU ASKED THIS QUESTION.
THIS pROVES THAT OBAMA IS THE REAL DEAL SON.

Obama proved persuasive enough that the bill passed both houses of the legislature, the Senate by an incredible 35 to 0. Then he talked Blagojevich into signing the bill, making Illinois the first state to require such videotaping.

Obama didn't stop there. He played a major role in passing many other bills, including the state's first earned-income tax credit to help the working poor and the first ethics and campaign finance law in 25 years (a law a Post story said made Illinois "one of the best in the nation on campaign finance disclosure"). Obama's commitment to ethics continued in the U.S. Senate, where he co-authored the new lobbying reform law that, among its hard-to-sell provisions, requires lawmakers to disclose the names of lobbyists who "bundle" contributions for them.

Taken together, these accomplishments demonstrate that Obama has what Dillard, the Republican state senator, calls a "unique" ability "to deal with extremely complex issues, to reach across the aisle and to deal with diverse people." In other words, Obama's campaign claim that he can persuade us to rise above what divides us is not just rhetoric.

Avian flu: Obama was one of the first Senators to speak out on avian flu, back in the spring of 2005, when it was a quintessentially wonky issue, not the subject of breathless news reports. There's a list of Democratic efforts on avian flu here; Obama shows up early and often. He has sponsored legislation, including what I think is the first bill dedicated to pandemic flu preparedness. It's a good bill, providing not just for vaccine research and antiviral stockpiles, but for the kinds of state and local planning and preparedness that will be crucial if a pandemic occurs. (I was also very interested to note that it requires the Secretary of HHS to contract with the Institute of Medicine for a study of "the legal, ethical, and social implications of, with respect to pandemic influenza". This is actually very important, and not everyone would have thought of it.)
"We recommend that this administration work with Congress, public health officials, the pharmaceutical industry, foreign governments and international organizations to create a permanent framework for curtailing the spread of future infectious diseases.

There were death penalty abolitionists, some of whom worried that Obama's bill, by preventing the execution of innocents, would deprive them of their best argument. Vigorous opposition came from the police, too many of whom had become accustomed to using muscle to "solve" crimes. And the incoming governor, Rod Blagojevich, announced that he was against it.

THIS IS A pERFECT EXAMpLE OF WHAT OBAMA CAN DO AND HAS ALREADy DONE, BRING DIFFERENT FACTIONS TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL.

    Comment: Progressive Action Score: 69
A score of 69 means that Sen. Obama has acted to support 69% of a slate of progressive policies in the 110th Congress. Progressive, forward-looking actions Senator Obama has taken to merit a PAS of 69:

Senator Obama cast a vote against the ironically named Protect America Act. The Protect America Act is a law now passed by both houses of Congress which replaces judicial warrants with executive prerogative and substitutes blank checks for reasons. The Protect America Act gives the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence the power to spy on your emails, your web surfing, your telephone calls and other electronic communications. All this is carried out without a warrant, which is required by the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

There is no supervision of the spy programs put in place by the Attorney General and the DNI, except by these two indivivuals themselves. No one has the power to stop them any more. They can search your records, sift through your private messages, watch you go from web page to web page, on the pretext of protecting America from terrorists, all without a search warrant. No one has the power to tell them no.

the Attorney General and the DNI, both political appointees of the President, have the power under the Protect America Act to order any American to help them conduct their electronic spying against other Americans. Under the new law, if they order you to take part in their spying operations, and you say no, they can throw you in prison. If you do not keep their spying on other Americans a secret, even from your family, they can throw you in prison.

The Protect America Act institutes Big Brother government in the United States. It betrays American liberty. It is a shame that the Act passed, but thanks are due to Senator Obama for casting a vote against it.

    Right Wing Index Score: 0
A score of 0 means that Senator Obama has acted to support 0% of a slate of conservative, wrongheaded policies in the 110th Congress.

IS SHE proud of HER HUSBAND?
ONE DAy AFTER ATTACKING MICHELLE OBAMA, CINDy McCAIN finds herself in an akward position.
I am sure MICHELLE WELL NOT STRIKE BACK. McCAIN did a masterful job in taming his wife's new found voice of criticism against Michelle.
NOW it is her time to answer questions about her husbands affair in two thousand. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED by McCAIN's former aides.
McCain already has issues with CONSERVATIVES this will not help his CAUSE.
CAN IT BE THAT HUCKABEE's pRAyers HAVE BEEN ANSWERED

    LET's LOOK AT THE FACTS.
OBAMA has shown he can organize millions of people into an organized and effetive political force.
He has made the correct judgements consistently throughout his campaign. AND THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. AT HARVARD AS WELL.
HIS TEAM IS A REFLECTION of HIM ORGANIZED HONEST AND HARD WORKING.
    CONSISTENT, GENUINE.

    LET"S LOOK AT HILLARy's campaign.
A lot of fighting and divisivness.
    A lot of firing's.
    A lot of bad JUDGEMENTS
CONFUSION AND pANIC as a result of bad judgement and wrong decisions.
THE BLAME GAME. IT's your fault, no its his fault, that's it you are FIRED.
LETs GO RACIAL My destiny is more important.
It is a reflection of her style. BROAD AGENDA's, BIG plans, that are blocked by gridlock, powerful lobbyist and her inablility to unite factions in order to implement a specific agenda. COMBINE THESE FACTS WITH SCANDAL and you are left with no HOpE and a BUSH in the OVAL OFFICE.

BEING president IS ABOUT UNITING THE COUNTRy. THIS IS WHy, not just anyone can become COMMANDER N CHIEF. BEING president involves making real time decisions very frequently. OBAMA HAS proven time and time again he has a "nack" for making calm, cool, correct decisions in a real time enviornment. BE HONEST LOOK AT THE CONTRAST in CAMpaigns. THE FACTS ARE THERE.

THE MEDIA NEEDs TO REALIZE THAT THEy are a tool of indoctrination. ANy GOOD politician can manipulate the media in their favor. OBAMA AND BILL ARE VERy good politicians.

OBAMA STANDS FOR REAL CHANGE. HE IS NOT A DESperate CANDIDATE THAT WILL SAy ANyTHING TO GET ELECTED. BARAKOBAMA is not a fortune teller he cannot have concrete plans ready until he has his complete pRESEDENTIAL team together. THEN HIS pLAN HAS TO pASS BOTH HOUSES. ONE step at a time. TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL is a political trap because things change. OBAMA IS A pro and will not fall into that trap.

Comment: I just received this email and it frightens me to death. Is it true? and if so why no major media on it.
Because Barack Obama has nothing to offer a Jew, that's why.

Go to the web site of trinity united church of Christ, the church he picked 20 years ago and has attended ever since (www.tucc.org). Take a good look at its "about us" section and see that it is both racist and separatist. Then know that its pastor, Jeremiah Wright, is aggressively supportive of palestinian Arabs aggressively anti-Israel (he calls Israel a racist state), and that the church magazine "Trumpet", named career racist/anti-Semite louis farrakhan it's Man Of The Year for 2007.

Obama calls Jeremiah Wright a "mentor" of his. Is this the kind of man you want mentoring a President of the United States? Is this the kind of outlook you think will be in any way beneficial to Jews in or outside the United States?

Then read up on the members of his staff, starting with Robert Malley and continuing on. You will find a succession of anti-Israel activists who think it makes sense for Israel go back to the 1948 borders and succumb to the Arab "right of return" --- which would immediately make Israel an Arab state.

The fact that mainstream media doesn't say a word about any of this is no surprise to me. I don't pretend that they are unbiased. But you can easily check everything I've just said, and I urge you in strongest terms to do so.

In my opinion, a Jew who supports Barack Obama is a Jew who is unaware of who and what he is.

McCain WILL BE DEFEATED IN A LAND SLIDE BY OBAMA in A NATIONAL ELECTION.
THE ECONOMY AND THE WAR are AGAINST McCAIN. HIS ONLY SOLUTION IS TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO"FOR A HUNDRED YEARS". WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS. NOT ME, PERHAPS HOLY ROLLER CAN FUND THIS HUNDRED YEAR AGENDA McCAIN HAS READY FOR ALL TAX PAYING AMERICANS.

HE WANTS TO KEEP THE BUSH TAX CUT'S INTACT. AS KARL ROVE MENTIONED IN HIS MOST RECENT ARTICLE IN NEWS WEEK, the REGAN ERA IS OVER. SUPPLY SIDE ECONOMICS IS NOT THE ANSWER.

THE MIDDLE CLASS WILL HAVE TO SUFFER UNDER McCAIN.
HE BELIEVES THIS AMERICAN SUFFERING IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT A MISGUIDED FOREIGN POLICY WHICH IS BASED ON FEAR AND NOT REALITY. IN FACT McCAIN'S AGENDA IS BADLY OUTDATED AND VERY UNPOPULAR AMONG MANY CONSERVATIVES IN HIS OWN PARTY, manY oF WHOM WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA OR STAY HOME IN NOVEMBER.

REMEMBER THE PROBLEMS IN IRAQ AND PALESTINE AND THE REST OF THAT REGION ARE
POLITICAL in NATURE. McCAIN is a great MILITARY MAN. BUT HIS EXPERTISE WAS NEEDED in TWO THOUSAND TWO, not now. WE NEED CHANGE. AND OBAMA WILL BE ABLE TO UNITE FACTIONS IN ORDER TO BRING STABILITY TO THAT REGION.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO OBAMA APPOINTING McCAIN TO BE THE NEXT HEAD OF HOMELAND SECURTIY.

    Comment: McCain???s Double Talk Express

In 2000 when John McCain was ridding the "Straight Talk Express" he said:
"If Gearge W. Bush is a reformer I am an astronaut."
In 2004, with his eye on the presidency, McCain campaigned on Bush's re-election bus, and repeated his well-rehearsed line:
''I believe that the president of the United States has led this nation with great strength and clarity, and I believe that he should be re-elected. He is determined to make this world a better, safer, freer place. He deserves not only our support but our admiration."

As an anti-establishment candidate John McCain denounced pandering to the religious extremists of his party as:
    "Agents of intolerance;"
To win this years Republican nomination he embraced them :
I believe that the Christian Right" has a major role to play in the Republican Party.

On a woman???s right to choose he said:
"certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations."
After meeting with Jerry Falwell he said:
"its very likely or possible that the Supreme Court should ??? could overturn Roe v. Wade, which would then return these decisions to the states, which I support."
Of tax cuts for the rich in war time John McCain said:
"I voted against the tax cuts because of the disproportionate amount that went to the wealthy Americans."
To win the Republican nomination McCain now supports making those tax cuts permanent

In 2006 McCain opposed the passage of the Intelligence Authorization Conference insisting that waterboarding was torture, cruel treatment prohibited by Common Article 3 and conduct that shocks the conscience. He said that the Bush Administration's legal analysis had been dishonest and flatly wrong.
To win this nomination this year McCain voted against the law that banned waterboarding as torture.

In 2005 he introduced the Kennedy-McCain immigration bill, now he says he would not vote for his own bill.

Somewhere on the road to the Republican nomination John McCain???s Straight talk express lost it wheels and stalled in double talk of the old Washington insiders.

McCain wants a pat on the back and credit for supporting a surge in Iraq? Why didn't he support all the generals and Colin Powell when Powell put forth his doctrine of going in with overwhelming force and not going in without an exit strategy. But like all the generals and experts who told the Bushies that we needed more troops, Powell was let go. I didn't hear McCain saying anything then. He comes up with this so-called surge strategy 5 years later afetr thousands of troopsdean and billions of dollars wasted. The Powell strategy warmed over, putting lipstick on the pig. Thanks Se. He has even suggested, for you homeowners, that removing the tax deduction for the interest paid on your homes should no longer be an allowable deduction. You know--class warfare where those who don't have homes don't get the break, so those who do have homes, shouldn't get the break either. Neither candidate is to my personal liking, but, I sure don't want to pay higher taxes or start losing some of my personal deductions on my yearly taxes. Further, the health insurance issue is really not as simple as one might think. After researching Canada's health insurance program, it would seem that allowing government to control such an important part of our lives would be dangerous, at best. After all, the government can't fix Social Security, the Postal System, the Education system, the Highway systems, or even the public librarires---so how could we possibly, as a people, be so naive as to think that they could get Health Care correct??? Really think we should be working within the private sector to get the health care problems corrected rather than expecting Big Brother to have that much power over our lives!

Obama may belong to a black nationalist church today, but during his four years in a secular Indonesian school, his religion was listed in the school records as muslim (the religion of his step-father), whether he was actually a muslim or not. People have a right to know these things, especially given the fact that the junior senator from Illinois boasts so often about how his upbringing oversees has had such a profound impact on his foreign policy world-view.

Is the fact that Sen. Obama grew up with potential suicide bombers one of the reasons he's so disinclined to challenge them militarily overseas? (Isn't it DISGUSTING and HATEFUL when people with common sense put two and two together?)

What the time he has spent overseas does do for Obama is give him an insight into the rest of the world that may elude folks like you who have spent their time wearing sheets and burning crosses.

Comment: Jon, the real battle between McCain and Obama will be for the hearts and minds of the great American middle class, the tens of millions of folks who aren't staunch Republicans or staunch Democrats, who distrust both parties, and are looking to vote for the man (or woman) who they believe will be the best leader of the country. Your media colleagues rarely discuss this, because it is boring. It's more exciting to talk about superdelegate fights and Latino voting blocs.
Both candidates have a strong appeal to the middle. McCain has publicly criticized Bush, which gives him a degree of credibility to most voters. HIs war hero background also makes him appealing, especially given the chickenhawks who have dominated the administration for the past eight years. While most of the country has lost all respect for Bush, and no longer take him seriously, most of the country will take McCain seriously, and do have respect for him. The Republicans don't quite realize this yet, but he may be the strongest candidate they could have put up. Their base will fall behind him, which again will make this election about winning the middle.
Obama's will easily get most of the democratic base and the Hillary voters, the real challenge, just like McCain, will be winning the middle. Obama has two hurdles - first, convince these voters that he has some "gravitas;" and second, convince these voters that he is not too liberal. Regular folks in the burbs like him, and are intrigued by him, but won't commit to him until he eases those concerns. If he directly addresses these concerns, he will be a formidable candidate, no matter what kind of dirt they throw his way.

Bush with all his right wing conservative christian base support didn't do a whole lot changing the social spectrum... the Late Term Abortion Ban... big deal. I think McCain will have more to think about than that.
Obama will win his Obamacans since even they will want some change. But I think the advantage goes to McCain. Like you said its for the MIddle class independants. In a McCain vs Obama race... for me and a lot of those middle class independants... it will go to experience

Comment: Any person running for the office of President (and by extension the position of Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces) should be required, by law, to release all military records relating directly or indirectly to his/her military service. There should be no exception.
During the last election process, the issue of John Kerry's suitability to be Commander in Chief became an unavoidable issue. Despite repeated promises, by Senator Kerry, to release his entire military record, he never did so. Undoubtedly, Senator Kerry had very good reason to believe that the release of his records would permanently damage, if not destroy, his reputation and personal honor. In the end, Kerry was willing to lose his bid for the White House rather than subject himself to the scrutiny of researches and military historians.
In the present election cycle, a very similar circumstance has arisen. Another,
"Hero" of the Vietnam War seeks the White House. The citizens of this country are expected to accept, at face value, the media's version of Senator Mc Cain's
POW "Hero" status. Anyone who questions the official "history" of Mc Cain's
"distinguished military service" is branded "unpatriotic", at best. More likely, inquiries, regardless of how justified, are simply ignored.
As a life long Republican, Marine combat veteran, I want to know the information Senator Mc Cain has so earnestly tried to hide. I want to know what his POW debriefing documents say. In fact, I want to know what is contained in all of the debriefing documents Senator MC Cain had Classified
and kept out of the public domain.
John Mc Cain isn't a "nice" guy. In fact, it can hardly be said that he's a "good" guy. He simply isn't. His whole story is convoluted, a piece of unimaginable fiction concocted to prop up a make believe "hero", just to get into the White House. But, what bothers me the most is that, so many people know Mc Cain's story just doesn't hold water. The media, so afraid of attacking a "war hero", has just laid down. It will take the Internet, again, to bring the American public
the truth they certain have every right to expect.
My view of politics is myopic. I don't much care which party runs the show. My focus is exclusively on wether the candidate is an honorable person. As far as Senator Mc Cain is concerned, I simply do not see that as being the case.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/16/2008 17:55:08

Comment: Obama may be inexperienced, but he sure learns fast! The Clintons have been working on this campaign for over a decade -- yet in a few short months, Obama has created a campaign machine of his own that is barreling through states fast and furiously. Apparently, the junior senator knows how to tap into talent. And that's exactly what a good leader does. Whether in a business or a government, a great leader is one who can inspire people to strive for excellence. Why does he inspire the youth? Like a great teacher who expects the best effort, Obama expects Americans to pull together. It's high time we did just that.

I'm a youthful 59 year old white woman. The pundits I'm not representative of Obama's "core" supporters. I think they may be wrong again.

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/16/2008 17:12:28

Comment: You ask "Why does he inspire the youth". I offer a simple explanation. Excessive YouTube along with a hypnotic chant of CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE...., this will most likely lead to bipolor disorder, which will land them in rehab. Then they too are COOL!

Our youth have never had to take any real risks(except our proud soldiers), pay any taxes, make hard decisions, and look at life through the eyes of reality TV. They just don't know any better.

John McCain will easily defeat Sen. Obama, but it will not be just because of the Republican vote. John McCain will recieve the most crossover Democrate votes since Reagan-Carter. Many find him quite an attractive Commander-In-Chief candidate. And that is the office that is of utmost importance in this age.

The Commander question especially will get a lot of support for McCain. It would be like making a cadent fresh out of the academy a 4 star rank and having him run the show... yes the President will have advisors.. but who would you have running the military? I have more military experience playing Call of Duty 4 than Obama has.

Comment: Obama belongs to a church that prescribes for its surrounding neighbourhood and for black communities across Ameirca a black liberation theology. It is from all appearances a church in the traditional christian sense of what a church would be like in America, bible based and rooted in the idea that Jesus the Nazerath is the Christ and Savior. It includes into its mandate a black liberation theology designed to attract African Americans, but in no way would discard the membership or attendance of any White American who might want to attend as most people would make the case of saying. His church isn't a cult, it doesn't sacriface humans or animals on the alter or make claims of superiority for blacks.

Conservatives really need to stop believing in the propaganda that has been spewed out for them to regurgitate...that Obama is a secret Muslim, or that he belongs to a cult like church...if his church be a cult...then alot of black congregation churches in America should all be considered cults. Noon on a sunday is the most segregated hour in America...where races of all colors attend a church of their own cultural persuassion. A phenomenon that doesn't surprise me any more then the theme you'd see in a high school cafeteria, people of similar races group together...nothing weird about that.

But what Obama is doing is no different from what Dr King wanted to do...Dr King belonged to a black based church...Dr King was an advocate of civil rights, so is Obama to a degree...Dr King openly opposed a war when it was not popular to do so...Obama has done the same...and will hopefully one day soon bring an end to the weeping mothers who worry about their sons and daughters abroad who are being shelled at everyday by Muslim extremists who dont like us there.

Conservatives better pray that Obama is the frontrunner chosen from out of the democart side...because if Clinton is the one to get nominated...not only would she beat Mccain just as Obama would...but Clinton unlike Obama will not be able to get republican support in the senate. Republicans actually tend to like Obama.

Wake up America...stop saying Obama doesnt have the experience...when your elected president your given the best panel experts around...all that is required of a president is character and charisma...and a little bit of youth wouldnt hurt either...Mccain looks like he's about to keel over...is that really the best the republicans can do?

Comment: American Hero vs Islamic sympathizer hmm, this is going to be a hard choice.

Comment: HollyRoller I'm sorry but I need to clue you in, all your comments are completely ridiculous and I tried to ignore them but after this one I honestly have to reply. You sound like an extremley racist, and prejudiced person, so I won't waste too much time, because you obviously already have your ideas formed.

        1. Im 17 years old, i live in spain and yeah, im a girl. I believe in obama. NOT because I think he's cool, because I know its time America needs a leader like him.

Yes Mcain is a hero, and we have tremendous respect him and for what he endured. However much you may be against a war, you should never be against the troops. They are all amazing indivduals.
But being a war hero doesnt entitle you to the presidency.

        2. When i heard obama speak he really REALLY touched my heart, and he gave me real hope, something i havent had in a long while, and I know hes done the same for so many others.

3.No one gives any importance to these Muslim rumors anymore.

and in regards to one of your other comments---where the youth will just chant change change change and be oblivious to all else---the only thing it proves is that you are one synical, angry person. By saying that you are insulting everyone who voted for him. You honeslty believe the youth--and you ONLY excluded the soldiers in your statement--are all "blind to the truth?"

Every single one of Obamas ideas and statements about change are backed by real believable working plans. He himself even states the reality of it, saying it will be difficult to bring it about. THATS why people are voting for him.

Comment: Point 1... agreed but being a war hero give you an advantage over someone that has never served... especially to the servicemen and woman out there.
Point 2... Disagree.., I've heard songs that touched my heart but Im not going to vote for person that wrote it.
Point 3...I would agree but Holy Roller is one of the probably millions of people will which is sad...but true.

Comment: HolyRoller: You know better, this is just meant to scare people, in one paragraph you mentioned that Obama is a Muslim and also a Christian, common you don't think Americans are this dumb, do you?

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/16/2008 16:51:26

Comment: I am not trying to scare people. If they do not succumb to the hypnotical CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE, there is nothing to fear. It is my right and duty however, to speak out about the potential for danger. Kinnda like telling your children to not take candy from strangers. Nothing to fear as long as they don't do it, but serious danger if the ignore your warning.

I in no way called Sen. Obama a christian, I stated he had muslim connections and belonged to a cult like "church". If you don't agree with this analysis that is your right. It is also my right to say what I believe is strong circumstantial evidence to his mohammedness.

Comment: Jonathon has written an excellent piece of a closely veiled endorsement of Sen. Obama. I can???t say I blame him. I feel that I am speaking the opinion of, several millions of voters, when I say that it???s a pretty unrealistic description of us, when you say our views make us, ???assorted scum.??? Many of my fellow Americans truly believe this Republic was founded by our GOD. It is our duty to speak out, when we are certain that spiritual enemies are endangering our safety, as
