Please report news objectively and be fair to all! That's all we readers ask for! Thanks!

If every american would not buy a newspaper or magazine for one day, just one day,,,I think that would get the costly eye awakening they deserve...be fair you media morons.....

Not certain that I agree entirely with this article. There are factions of the press that report favorably to the Cinton's every day (one of the major cable networks has a love in with them all the time). Obama is critiqued but the article is accurate in pointing out that there is less to critique. This does mean the press is taking it easy on the man, it means that the man has a record and character that is harder to take swings at.

Which one? I have desperately been searching for a cable network that has more favorable and fair reporting on Hillary Clinton and haven't been able to find it. Please let me know so I can tune in as I am sick of tired of the light and very biased reporting on Mr. Obama.

I do enjoy his talks as they are indeed very inspirational but do not believe he is ready for what this job! And I am afraid that if he becomes the nominee that we will end up with another republican. I am an independent and I am very discouraged with the media and do believe they are blameworthy in how they covered Pres Bush's over Al Gore. They have done a disservice to this country and deserve some of the blame for us being in the war in Iraq! Please report fairly! This nation is in desperate need of it!

if obama gets in the press will soon start the attack when they realize he is smoke and mirrors. if the press wont criticize him because he is black, the world press will go after him. I am sickened by what I have read about hillary. she would make a wonderful president and I'm tired of obama and his minnions crying to press about how mean bill clinton is to him. even mccain fights his own battles. also, leave chelsey alone.

I read almost every single mainstream media outlet there is and there is not one that runs any sort of negative story on Obama. It's actually not often the stories themselves, but the titles of the articles. For example when Clinton places an ad critizing Obama for not having a helath care plan for everyone the media titles the storyline "Clinton goes negative", but when Obama responds with a negative ad the title is "Obama responds to Hillary" Nothing was said about how negative he is or how he uses political tricks just like any of the others. Clinton has recieved almost double the number of endorsements than Obama but you never hear about them. The press is obbessed with Obama for one reason only it improved their ratings! It makes me kind of lose faith in the political system being about the people of this country. I hope this changes and I'm sorry I don't buy into Obama's claim that he will be able to change the way people think in Washington. Republicans are not going to just sit down one day and say ok you can have health care for everyone, you can reverse the tax cuts on the wealthy, you can end the war in iraq. These complex and tough issues take someone that is willing to stand up for what they believe in and find common ground among all of the great citizens of this country. Hillary Clinton will do that, and has done that in the Senate. Look at her record of working with republicans in the Senate.

    • Posted By: yellow dog @ 02/18/2008 10:54:08 AM

Oh not only do they go all "CLINTON GOES NEGATIVE!" but they then show the Obama response ad in its entirety. What's THAT about? They don't show the "negative ad" probably because it's really not so negative but here comes Obama's free ad--oh sorry "response".

Hill have been dismissing Barack's words, speeches that don't bring food to the table. Now she is laying out her 13 point economic plans, shouldn't the voters then ask her they are also words and won't put jobs and food to the table ? Yes she has experience, but they are all spectacular failures ! Let's take Hillarycare that she was pushing very hard into actions according to her plan, the result is what drives her to have her hairdo pass-in-review for weeks and sent her touring around the world. Then she has a long term plan for the Clinton restoration with even details for her way to the coronation. It involves raising a lot of money to scare away any challenger and recruited powerful party establishment sycophants. We are way past to her way from her road to her coronation and she squandered all the advantages she had, emptied her campaign war chest and found herself trailing on a path not taken. With that kind of very recent track record, why should the voters believe in her economic plans in the first place ? I'll let her record defeat her own plans, for she is the real Talker and a very Bad Doer, even as she attempts to reprise Bill's reputation of a mulligan !

Your article states it is not true the press has "gone easy" on Obama which is totally inaccurate - from day one he has been left off the hook of true press scrutiny just like Bush was leading up to the Iraq invasion. Hope the country doesn't pay the same price for this failure by the press that we've paid for the Bush failure.

Olbermann used to be the voice of reason on cable news, unfortunately he become a biased and downright arrogant TV personality. I will refrain from watching is program until he returns to his previous form....If he can.

America wants to know: where's the media coverage on this???? We deserve to hear the truth!

But alas, the media will NEVER tell us the truth. They are inept at reporting the truth. All they do is push their agenda. What ever happened to unbiased reporting? It has gone the way of the dinosaur

  • Posted By: jczapa @ 02/18/2008 10:41:14 AM

I actually think the same way. There has been several times where CNN has giving way more coverage to Senator Obama's campaign than to Hillary's. I watched a couple of times Anderson Cooper interrupting Hillary's supporters and letting Obama's ones talk without interruptions. Sometimes I wonder who is funding Obama's campaign. It seems even Republicans are supporting him just because they know it would be easier for McCain to win against him that against Senator Clinton. It is a shame the media does that, but then again it is not the first time it happens.

  • Posted By: jasoninpa10 @ 02/18/2008 9:56:06 AM

The real losers in this are the American people who actually study the issues and vote according to the record and information available to pick the best candidate. Unfortunately, there are masses of people to whom the media is able to manipulate. ( I site as en example the blacks who voted for Obama 90% in the Potomic; that is obviously not an issue-oriented vote to have that high a percentage by just one class) If you talk about Obama's "momentum" and his "perfectness" enough, there are people who vote based on what they hear, not issues. The media knows this and is using it to wipe out Clinton. If Obama is nominated, they will quickly turn on him though to get McCain in the White House. No surprise though; this is the same media that sold the Iraq war to Americans.

    • Posted By: yellow dog @ 02/18/2008 10:37:24 AM

Amen. "The Media" has annointed Obama. What "they" did to John Edwards, who was far and away the most feasible Dem candidate is unforgivable. I agree with the poster who has given up on MSNBC. I have never seen such blatant bias. Keith Olbermann needs to shut up about Fox's republican bias as long as he's hell-bent on shoving Obama down all our throats. I've been a fan of his for years but over the last few months have foun myself switching off the TV in the middle of his show more often than not.

    • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 02/18/2008 10:32:44 AM

I agree with the first part of your post, but then it goes downhill as you did not study the issues. You struck out at Obama's weakness and, just as the media has in the past, avoided the controversy around Clinton. You mentioned the "Black vote" for Obama, yet failed to mention the "woman vote" Hillary has been going after. Then you bring in the Iraq war and try to tie the leftist media into that. Study your facts first abd be objectively fair on all issues. The Iraq war was not brought on by the Media or even Bush. Several events led to this event, intelligence from MANY different nations, and let us not forget, congress did vote to give the president authorization to go in... with Hillary loudly proclaiming that they were a threat that needed to be dealt with.

You started off with a good comment and then went the way of the mainstream media and only reported information based on YOUR agenda... just like they do.

Thank you for your comments! I am sick about the injustice that is being done to this country!!!!

How ironic, that when scandals loomed grey above the Clinton White House, the Clintons wanted the press to "just go away", no scandals over here they proclaimed...and the disgusting later truths, is now part of history. Hey, maybe BILL does truly TRULY believe that an 8yr term of some few successes, primarily with your pants tangled around your ankles most of the time in the White House is "memorable" TO HIM at least! The good ole'90s...sweet! And a ticket back to the White House for more of the same...sweet! What a "fairytale" is right, and now he owes dogged allegiance to his main co-conspirator, co-concealor and architect of LIES thru his years of scandal & impeachment hearings...his wife HILLARY! Just like they requested of the press, I think most of any intelligence, would NOW want them "to just go away!"

    Whaa Whaa Whaa
If the press isn't dancing to Clinton's tune, too bad. If she thinks she's getting the short end of the stick she should take a look at the media's representation of Ron Paul. She might not be getting the representation she thinks she deserves, but she's not being completely ignored like Paul is. Quit your whining.

This love affair with Obama has been going on for several years now.You have poked him down our throats
and run him out our ears. Frankl;y it makes me want to throw up.

Mary in TN. has captured my feelings. I have been contacting the MSM imploring that they do their job and
VET this possible nominee. There are many questions that have yet to be asked and remain unanswered
regarding Sen.Obama. Information is helpful BEFORE we cast a vote.
Check: http://rezkowatch.blogspot.com ; Rezko trial starts in March. How much could it hurt Sen. Obama?
We have two great candidates, let's choose wisely. Our nation's future is at stake. How to choose...the
other day, in speaking to someone about the primaries, she recounted: "you can love ice cream but, you
shouldn't eat it everyday, you know that you need veggies but you don't always want to have them". Vote
with your head not your heart.

    • Posted By: placidgirl7 @ 02/18/2008 10:16:16 AM

Dear Raven13 - and Mary in Tenn....you are both so right. I would like to see the news media ask Senator Obama how he plans to get us out of Iraq and how he plans to bring the autoworkers their jobs back - something he recently promised that he does not have a prayer of accomplishing either. If we walk away from Iraq, after what we have done to that country, thousands will be slaughtered by the fanatic Islamists - it's already happening in Basra after the British pulled back. Women are being beheaded for not wearing the proper scarves.....Mr. Obama. how would you solve this problem? To say you will pull out totally - just not reality.

I agree with jasoninpa. I can no longer stomach MSNBC, and I used to watch it non-stop. Ironically, it is the republican pundits who seem to sympathize with Hillary when they see her subtly and not so subtly slammed by the Jason list. I don't agree that it has anything to do with a Rove conspiracy - the media is simply infatuated with Obama. When the author says that the press has "scrubbed [Obama's] slender record", what he fails to note is that the press has said virtually nothing of the fact that it *is* slender. Very slender. So it's a deeper bias than simply "mostly positive coverage". Its "ga ga" coverage. And I'm sick of it. I hope Clinton crushes Obama in Texas and Ohio, and the press is hung out to dry.

The media during the debate in Richnomd, (Va.) between President Bush & the 'young upstart' Bill Clinton, was a good example of media bias. The 'warm up' session with the local questioners -by a Black female media person was a joke. Virginia was Bush country, so none of the warm-up questioners, deemed slanted towards Bush, by the mderator and/or the control room, were given a chance to ask their questions during the live nationwide telecast.

CLINTON'S TRy to USE THE MEDIA TO Spread the race card. THIS IS WHy they cannot complain. LIKE I said the CLINTON's time has passed this is why we have term limits. How hard do youu think the media would be on BUSH if he RAN again in two thousand eight.
I REALLy like the CLINTON's personally. I REALLy think they are good people who are dedicated and committed to helping others. MONEy has never been their motive. THEy DID NOT EVEN OWN A HOUSE IN THE EARLY DAYS. THEY WERE IDEALIST WHO REALLY DEDICATED THEMSELVES TO THEIR 'MISSIONS'.
IT IS unfortunate that the LEWINSKy mattere messed things up. I HATE TO SEE BAD THINGS HAppen to good people. CLINTON JUST HAD ONE WEAKNESS. HE JUST NEED TREATEMENT. I FEEL REALLy bad for the guy because it is so personal. THE AFFECT OF LEWINSKy are still being felt. UBELIEVABLE.

Even though Hillary was ahead in the count MSNBC has shown Obama on the top of their page for weeks. Shame on you. Not only have you lost all credibility with me but you are actually pushing this country in a very dangerous direction. Clearly Obama is nothing more then a good speaker. He hasn't done anything in the Senate and hasn't gotten a single bill passed on his own. What makes people think that the role of the President will be any different?

    • Posted By: placidgirl7 @ 02/18/2008 10:03:11 AM

I agree, Cascadia - Hillary co-sponsored legislation with Jim Webb of Virginia to stop Bush from invading Iran without authorization from Congress. Obama skipped the vote. Where is the press coverage on this? Why do they keep letting him get away with stating that he was against the war when he wasn't even in the Senate? He hadn't been elected yet. He even stated later that he didn't know how he would vote yet he is allowed to get away with this repeatedly and using it to slam Hillary Clinton. Hillary, at the time voted because the intelligence agency and the President assured her and the rest of Congress that Bush would exhaust all other options....although many of us did not trust him for a minute. She wanted to give the President whatever tools were necessary if the time came for action. He abused that trust.

I cannot believe that this great land will permit ' Bill and Hillary' to jointly lead and manage this wonderful country because they certainly will try with or without a sympathetic congress or senate. Watch out you voting public, do not be fooled. This country needs strength and truth (once also described as ethics).

"... the press is almost certain to turn on both men. Digging through the personal record, searching for human flaws, is what reporters do when they cover presidential campaigns, and the critical skepticism only deepens when the winner occupies the Oval Office." WHEN? When it is too late, I suspect.
