Did Bill upset the press so bad by telling the truth about their coverage bias, that they no longer care about what is best for the country?

The media is definitely pro Obama people add up the negative comments on Clinton in one night compared to Obama. The press has influenced elections in the past and will again. They tried in New Hampshire and failed miserably. It is time to wake up.

The media is trying to swing this election. Add up the negative and positive comments on each candidate and see what you get. I think the voters will eventaully wake up and see this for themselves. What happened to unbiased reporting.

Obama is the biggest media darling in the history of this nation. His WHOLE campaign is based on hype and nothing more; much of the hype is generated by the MSM....

I am not sure why people hate the Clintons so much. Just because I think Hillary will make a BETTER president does not mean I don't like Obama. I just prefer one over the other. If Obama wins the primaries, I would STILL vote for him in the general election. I sense that some people, not all of the people who votes for Omaba not just won him to win but most importantly wants Hillary to lose. That is just been idiotic. Ás for me, it's too painful to hate someone. Once again, I like both candidates but prefers Hillary. Oh yes, I guess I am on somebody's hate list now!!!! I am a firm believer of the Democratic Party, I don't like to run between parties like others do.

What I have noted that seems to be lost in the fray.. BUSH had little political experience other then "governor" and I say that lightly.. As President where did he leave us??
DO we really want anthor BUSH??
Obama may make a great President one day BUT not anytime soon.. We desperately need experience and drive in the White House not someone learning as they go. The media needs to report the news NOT MAKE IT ..

    • Posted By: D. Affiliated @ 02/17/2008 2:01:09 PM

Clinton didn't have any political experience other than "govenor" either, most Presidents don't.

*** We desperately need experience and drive in the White House not someone learning as they go. ***

No, what we need is character and judgement. Clinton showed what sort of judgement she has when she voted for the war. As for character, well...

Bush wasn't a disaster because he was light on experience. He was a disaster because of basic defects of character, among them his intellectual laziness, stubborness and tendency to value loyalty over competence in his aids. That last one is a major trait of Hillary Clinton's as well, in full display in her campaign.

If Hillary has such great experience and judgement, then why do you think her campaign has been such a disaster? She claims to be ready to lead the country on day one, but seems unable to lead her own campaign organization.

Susantse9 --- I'd just leave it with think with your brain... your heart has a job, and that's to pump blood throughout your body. Your heart has nothing to do with sensations of love, emotions etc. that's left to the brain and hormones... Eventually the brain triggers things in heart so ultimately ... it's all brains... but People need to not believe everything the MEDIA TELLS THEM... and they should read up on the issues and read the incidentals... Good presidents just dont have to be articulate (Obviously after the last president (GWBUSH) we want a good speaker in the white house, but we also want someone who has good ideas! And is a problem-solver, and not a motivator!

  • Posted By: orangeal @ 02/17/2008 1:59:26 PM

The problem with the Clintons is that they have a sense of entitlement about the presidency. They go ballistic when things dont go their way and start finger-pointing. Thank God we wont have another 4 years of that garbage!

  • Posted By: D. Affiliated @ 02/17/2008 1:59:12 PM

Hillary is ALWAYS the victim; first it was a vast right wing conspiracy that was making all of these extra-marital women pop up, then the press who had dubbed her the presumptive nominee for an entire year was being unfair after she lost in Iowa, then the Caucuses don't really count because she never took the time to organize and campaign there because she thought she didn't need to and would rap the nomination up on 2/05--where does it end?! This woman is not fit to be the chief executive.

  • Posted By: markci @ 02/17/2008 1:55:36 PM

Stephanopoulis was never press secretary. He was communications director -- the press secretary's boss. The press secretary was Dee Dee Myers, who was kept about as uninformed as any of Bush's press secretaries.

The only blind people in this election are the onces that let their emotions get in the way. Don't let your heart dictate what you do. Think for once with your heart and your head

The Media has a sacred and democratic responsibility to inform and educate the people about their elected leaders moreso the powerful President and most important those who seek public office.Fairness,Honesty and Accuracy are virtues that must be employed. I have not seen any particular bias against Hillary nor for Obama. The issue here is a Candidate(Obama) that has created a wave of interest not seen a long time in American politics. He is dynamic, has an exotic background, a powerful academic record, motivational and inspirational.Hillary's problem is not the Media. It is Obama.People are drawn to him like magnet. He is a rock star politician and when he speaks many get emotional. He has created a Movement across America. He has invented new buzz phrases like - Yes, We Can,They say this Day Will Never Come, We Need Change. To Add Insult to Hillary's Injury, his policies for change are attractive to average Americans and worst for her she is portrayed as the Past and he presents himself and the people see him as the
Present.Someone has to be blamed for the loss of glamour and glitz the Clintons had over America. So blame the Media,Blame Obama, Blame the Young who are attracted to him as they are attracted to a bright Future,Blame Hillary for supporting the Iraq War, Blame Americans who are tired of the Clintons and their machinations and discretions over the years. Blame the American People for getting Obama fever. Someone has to be blamed for Obama's lead over Hillary. The Clintons certainly will never blame themselves.

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR THE MEDIA? WHY DO YOU NOT GIVE US MORE INFORMATION ON THE ACTUAL THINGS THAT EACH CANDIDATE HAVE DONE? WHY HAVE YOU NOT BEEN COMPLAINING FOR A LONG TIME ABOUT THE DNC NOT ALLOWING FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN VOTE TO ? WHY HAVE YOU NOT ASKED OBAMA THE TOUGH QUESTIONS?. YOU DO THE COUNTRY NO SERVICE IF YOU GIVE US OPINIONS AND NO FACTS. I AM A CPA AND I BELIEVE THAT WORDS DO NOT HELP MY CLIENTS. I CAN SPEAK OF CHANGE BUT WITHOUT THE SPECIFIC DETAILS OF WHAT I WILL DO AND HAVE DONE FOR OTHER CLIENTS, NOTHING CHANGES. IT IS SAD THAT YOU HAVE ATTACKED THE CLINTONS FOR THEIR TRUTHFUL COMMENTS AND CALL THEM RACISTS WHEN I AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO HELP CIVIL RIGHTS. I QUESTION A FREE PRESS THAT CALLS OVER 1.6 MILLION VOTES IN FLORIDA A BEAUTY CONTEST . A CANDIDATE MAY WIN A PRIMARY WITHOUT FLORIDA BUT LOSE THE GENERAL ELECTION. I WAS SHOCKED TO HEAR THAT OBAMA SMOKES AND STILL SMOKES. IF THAT WERE HILLARY, YOU WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY. OBAMA IS UPLIFTING, AND THE PRESS IS RESPONSIBLE TO OUR COUNTRY TO ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS WHEN A CANDIDATE IS AN UNKNOWN. YOU DO NOT WAIT TO ASK UNTIL THE GENERAL ELECTION. WE DESERVE TO BE INFORMED AND THAT IS YOUR JOB. WE KNOW CLINTON'S HISTORY & FACTS. THE PRESS SHOULD BE ASHAMED THAT WE DO NOT KNOW THE GOOD AND THE BAD ABOUT OBAMA.
THE MEDIA DOES NOT REPORT THIS AND YET TALKS ABOUT HILLARY'S CLEVAGE.

This was a refreshing and stunning characterization of the media and the clintons! I concur with your comment and Demand the media start taking some responsibility--- but we both know the media has a way with imposing it's will on the people... their agenda is obvious and some who are wearing Obama colored glasses will disagree, but Mary in TN I think you should post on every media's blog and comment section these very important questions... I look at the access to the media. Who is able to access the so called free speech of the media? We are denied access or go through moderation with the specific purpose of censoring our voices. I for one am fed up with the Media pushing their agenda on the American public. I would take it one step further that our failing education system is going to only encourage the Media's power as the 24 hour cable shows are the primary news source for the majority of the country, the dose of propaganda the majority of the public gets shapes their views of the world, and often distorts them from being "independent" often parroting the things they read and heard! I'm not in favor of censorship, but fair journalism that presents facts as facts and not stories that gian the mose sensationalism... I guess I'm naive if I think the days of ethical journalism can return. but one can hope!!!

THIS IS FOR ALL THE MEDIA REPORTERS:

THIS IS RIDICULOUS, any comment that The Clintons said is negative.

PLEASE DO NOT BE IGNORANT. Everything that Obama said is ok?
    EVAN HIS USED OF DRUGS?
Because this: I???ll repeat Mr. Clinton???s words. GIVE ME A BRAKE.

IS THE MEDIA, PROUD AND HAPPY TO HAVE THIS MAN AS THEIR PRESIDENT?

IS THIS THE MODEL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE?

Try spell checking your replies first, at least that will help you sound somewhat educated.

  • Posted By: ex-clinton supporter @ 02/17/2008 1:45:06 PM

This is typical. When Sen. Clinton lost in Iowa and Sen. Obama had the momentum, we began to hear such stories of media bias. It worked, she won NH. Now, she is behind again and Obama has the momentum, again. The same questions are being raised. People, this is called political strategy. Better yet, it is a Clintonian political strategy. Here's the difference. Obama may have a past, but he has a SHORT past in politics. The Clintons just have more history. Some bad, some good. Deal with it!

  • Posted By: susantse9 @ 02/17/2008 1:44:48 PM

The press simply loves Obama because he's new. In a first time voter like me, there shouldn't be any bias toward any candidate. My husband and I discuss often, Is the press too afraid to press him on real issue because his race??? As a minority myself, I too know what it feels like to be treated unfaily because of my race. The press is going out of their ways to make Obama feel more comfortable in this election. As for me, I vote for the candidate that can stand the constant pressure and can make the most difference when elected. Most if not all of Obama supportters love his speeches. No doubt his is a great speaker but has no substance. If anything, the love relationship expressed by the media for Barack has reconfirmed my believe that Hillary is the best candidate for the presidency!!!

  • Posted By: Panthro12373 @ 02/17/2008 1:43:56 PM

All press, political, entertainment, etc. gravittes towards the fresh underdog. Bill Clinton once enjoyed this treatment (despite the scandalous revelations). Eventually all are propped up, so that their demise is more dramatic. Why can't Clinton supporters acknowledge that their candidate (the most heavily favored of this primary season) has severely underperformed both strategically and in connecting with the American people? There post-election speeches are replete with excuses: "Caucusses are not fair to Hillary", "Bill never won Maine", "The media is out to get me!". If Hillary wants my vote, she will have to stop making excuses and attacks and show that she is capable of getting ahead on her own merits.

Even this article has a harsh undertone. The media is responsible for this Obama phenomenon. He will not be a good president on day one. He needs more experience. Why the media doesn't cover that is beyond me. But then again the media is controlled by the powers that be and are certainly not impartial.

  • Posted By: TRUTHradar @ 02/17/2008 1:36:32 PM

Of course the Clintons are given a hard time by the media. If most of their past reporting of the Clinton presidency had to do with scandals, Bill's pants down around his ankle in the Oval Office and impeachment hearings, with Hillary as co-conspitator, what would they consider positive or newsworthy about a Clinton return to the White House...an obvious regurjitation of a badly digested legacy. If the zebra has stripes, thats what they've reported as well...
