The media is nuts for Obama.. its just disgusting. Neither Pres Clinton or Sen Clinton have received the respect they deserve. Obama is a great speaker and obviously has a great speech writer, but I see no content. Where Sen Clinton has plans to get solutions-yes she may be older,(& wiser) and she may be a WOMAN--who again has to live by a double standard --regardless--she is the most qualified---if she can beat the media--and get somewhat "equal" coverage--she could win this thing. I orginally had supported her and then Obama if she lost--but things have been so bais it makes it difficult for me to do that--I have changed my mind---after reading so many negative comments from Obama supporters. I can not support him if he wins.. and as for riots--- I agree with the person who wrote about the women rioting if this election is taken from Sen Clinton by the double standard that has been placed on her -and her campaign... I just might join that fight... I'm fed up people. There is a system already in place to USE SUPER DELEGATES and those delegates should have their say---so should MIchigan and Florida--no on made Obama take his name off the ballott--did they??? and the Popular Vote is important---But we must follow the rules we already have in place---SUPER DELEGATES---count. And for those who want to change --because their state went for the other candidate--or as one SUPER DEG put it--Obama is getting alot of young voters and I was a teacher--what a reason to change??? If a super deg changes because of the popular vote---then they all should!!! Fair is fair...as the media just talking believe it or not--about Michelle Obama's comments --why shouldn't they question what she says---everyone has questioned what Pres Clinton says--if M Obama has never been proud of her country???? What a statement!!!... Wake up people---its all hype!!!

The press is neglecting its responsbility. Now, more than ever, we need competence and leadership...we need to effect change; to make things happen. The media needs to facilitate a serious discussion of the candidates' credentials. Instead it disects and analyses trivia....such as Hillary's laugh. Every action by the Clinton campaign is criticised heavily while the bar for Obama is set so low it's impossible to trip. The press is clearly voting for 'Low-bar-ma' .... who clearly won't stand a chance against McCain.

CNN even went so far as to show a split-screen or Obama on the left and Clinton on the right, obviously and intentionally* out of focus. What is the subliminal implication? Obama=focused, sharp, Clinton=blurry, fuzzy, unfocused. *If not intentional, then they sent an inferior crew and/or equipment to cover Sen. Clinton.

Totally unfair of the media to be so totally in love with the Obama Camp. Our daughters 25, 17 and 15 are so disappointed. Sad to watch. Very unfair. Be careful what you wish for people.

The media cronies are not doing their jobs (NBC and MSNBC) at being impartial but rather boldly acting as ''whores'' for the Pimp Obama. They relish his warm attention, his touch, his smiles and surface polish. He offers an illusion of positive change - one man cannot change everyone in the world - plus sexism seems to be more ''fashionable'' in America versus any negativity on race. They know some but very little about the man. Also I want to know why do men really, really, really, really hate their own mothers, their daughters, their sisters their grandmothers, their aunts, their nieces, their female lovers, wives and (chuckle) female bosses so much that they would not afford them the same respect as to men and other men of color. Men would not be able to handle true pain - take PMS the Period and giving birth to your next son! Do a last cartoon on that. If you do not than you do hate al the women in the world and it would be a sad one with just one sex left behind.

Obama has only voted about three times in the senate since he had been elected. Yes he pushed for the Ethics Bill but the rest of the tenure was spent on running for President -Check the White House Records.

Why must you try to counter alleged sexism with more sexism; just because someone doesn't vote for Hillary doesn't mean that they are sexist, any more than the fact that someone doesn't vote for Obama means that they are racist.

We have been watching this for months. Our daughters 25, 17 and 15 are so disappointed in the media. It's all for Obama and distasteful for the Clintons. They cannot believe how unfair this is. Needless to say
they feel the media is totally in love and in the clouds with Obama! This is unfair for an election.

Within the following repost I say only the popular vote will be acceptable, and then it will still be ugly (especially if Clinton wins). Forget delegates, forget big states vs small states, but do we count Florida's popular vote?
In all fairness the DNP should step up and admit signals were given before the nomination process even began that Florida and Michigan delegates would be seated no matter who won the state.. Especially Florida since it was republicans in control of moving their primary up and breaking the rules. The party can ill afford to have Florida feel alienated in the general election. Instead they let Clinton take the fall.
No one thought then these delegates could determine the nomination and I do not think they will or should now. But to bash Sen. Clinton for trying to do what is best for the party while giving Obama a pass for trying to change the super delegate rules put in place long ago is the height of hypocrisy!
Super delegates were put in place when the party decided to make the nomination so open to outside influences. They were created for exactly the situation we now face, when a movement threatens to co-opt the political party and/or the voters are swayed toward someone who may not be best for the party or country.
We are seeing the price to be paid for opening up the nomination to the general public. What is next; a general election for the democratic nominee, then another in November? In all likelihood this will be decided on popular vote, I only hope Florida's count does not have an impact. God help us if (shades of 2000) the overall popular vote is thwarted because of a technicality involving (not counting) Florida!
I blame the Democrat National Party for this fiasco and for not having the courage to defend their position(s). They should not fear being called bigoted if they are seen as questioning Baraks qualifications; it is their job (and ours), and the role of super delegates. Truth hurts? Grow up!

How long are you people going to run this story? We know you hate Clinton. This is old news.

  • Posted By: th38 @ 02/19/2008 10:58:59 AM

You Hillary haters really need to acquire a life.

    • Posted By: DeltaLady @ 02/19/2008 12:10:05 PM

YOU need to get a life if you think people have something "personal" against Hillary Clinton. I have no problem with her, but I prefer Obama. Now if that's "hating" then call it what you choose (although it's unfortunate that your mind is so small). And as far as the media being unfair to the Clintons...the Clintons have been unfair to themselves. Coming out with the most ignorant allegations that I have EVER heard from SUPPOSEDLY intelligent people. The fact that Barack Obama can speak to thousands of people (in the Bible, they called them multitudes) and inspire them and give them hope is somehow being painted by the Clintons as a "negative". Since when is a spiritual gift a "negative"? Not only that, she even tries to dismiss the principle of Hope as if this is something Barack Obama just made up. She claims to be a Christian, but all in the same breath she's undermining the very foundation of Christianity. Now, she's quick to throw out the phrase "false hope"...I wasn't aware that there was any such thing...my Bible speaks nothing of "false hope". Not sure what version of the Bible she's reading (if any)....perhaps the press can cover that, since they're in such need of media attention. They claimed Obama is a Muslim (which is a lie)....so just what is Hillary Clinton....huuuuummmmmm...

I would take Clinton over Obama anyday.

  • Posted By: electxyz @ 02/19/2008 12:03:33 PM

I was independent, and never voted a president. But I listed facts here I think it is unfair to Hillary:
When Obama mentioned MLK, if he was not comparing himself to King, media did not say it was race. President Lincoln shall be mentioned by Obama, too. Lincoln liberated slaves by civil war. Then when Hillary commented on Obama's lines, all media jump in called race in race.
CNN Wolf asserted "naive" during CA debate. That was awful.
NBC Tim Russell played only-portion of Bill's FareTale line, and twisted as Obama's campaign as FareTale, while Bill referred it as Obama's war record and to media's free-ride.
Media never asked tough questions on Obama during any debates. "Change" - what Changes? "Hope"-what hopes?, "United"- how to unit philosophical different Republican, while he said he does not want to be invited to the hunting party when Mrs Cheney revealed Dick and Obama were 8-generation cousins. "Change Old Washington Politics" - while his campaign staff are full of Clinton's formal staff? His drug inhale - He adimited upto juvenile so he is honest. A probelm became an advantage. Lists go on ...
Now there is a video posted in YouTube, some guy claim he had oral sex with Obama and both inhaled drugs. The guy is willing to do polygraph test to prove his claim. But no media interested or reported. As a voter, he/she should know those things. If it is true, we shall drop his candidacy. If false, the guy shall be put into jail. For the proof of burden, Obama campaign shall issue a statement to clear the issue. If no statement, it likely there is some truth there if not whole truth. We don't want another Sex-Gate, Drug-Gate. If issuing a statement, I will give them the benefit of double. But where is media? where is DNC? Are we going to elect someone that he/she is potentially a flawed candidate? Unbelievable!

The Clintons sense of entitlement to the presidency is revolting. Soon their fangs and claws will appear more prominently as they see their chances for a third run at the White House disappear. The Clinton political machine will soon be at full trottle to destroy anyone standing in their way. Hold opn to your hats folks, it is going to be a bumpy ride!

Too bad. I'll vote for McCain over Obama and Clinton over Obama. So won't most independents. He doesn't have a chance. Sorry

There won't be any riots anywhere if the person who the voters choose ends up being the nominee. It's that simple. But, if the the person who wasn't chosen by the voters ends up being the nominee, be that Clinton or Obama, there won't be riots (that was exaggerated hyperbole, the social atmosphere is much different from what is was in the 60's) but there WILL be problems, and it may cause permanent, irreparable damage to the Democratic party. The Clinton strategy of trying to overturn pledged delegates that she has dismissed as second-class delegates speaks volumes of her values and integrity. The media may have it's biases (although I can't count the number of pro-Clinton pieces I've seen and read over the last week) but she's lucky that they continue to give her a pass on her win-at-all-costs strategy.

The perfect storm continues to brew toward the total destruction of the Democratic Party
A divided and fractured party in a divided and fractured country.

Now I am hearing about riots in the street if Obama loses, evocations of 1968 from those that glorify the 60's and do not remember how terrible and tramatic that time was. We only remember the goood that came from it, I remember the price we paid for it.

    • Posted By: joeygirlny @ 02/19/2008 11:38:58 AM

You are so correct! I also remember the 60's and it was a very scary, depressing and we all as a people together paid a very high price. As Democrats we Must stay united regardless who gets the nomination. I bet the republicans are delighted with our turmoil and hope we'll vote for McCain. We must stop fighting amongst ourselves, stop the name calling and pull together to get this nation back on track and not at the mercy of the republicans again!

Obama is getting too much press. I felt that John Edwards was a better candidate than Clinton or Obama. Obama has no experience and experience does matter. We shouldn't elect a president because they make empty speeches that makes people "Feel Good." The press is determined to elect Obama.
