Comment: HarrietG - You must live in a very high class society. But here in the real world, African Americans have been brought up to hate, and America is becoming a place where the white person is a minority. What if we had white history month? or the white-american channel on cable? Would that be racist? Yes, it would. Therefore, don't assume that the white man is the only racist. In all truth, the African American is more racist than the white man for more reasons than I have space to list. Furthermore, look at your own comment. You make sure to capitalize "African American," but not "white." Maybe try using something like "Caucasian".

Comment: I am laughing out loud at your ignorance. Show me anywhere in the history books where children learn the truth about American History. Show me where they can find out about black inventors that has made this economy thrive the way it has. You can't and the only time African Americans can learn about this is during that one month a year. There is White TV it's just not named so in that way it called ABC, NBC, FOX, USA, TNT etc. Your comment generalizes an entire race of people. Did you know that there are white Africans as well!

Comment: Dolores Fleming what do you mean by the "likes of her". Have you ever stopped to consider that this intelligent, out spoken African American may have a different view on how America has treated her than say.. a white woman? Believe it or not America has not always been kind to minorities. It's hard for the average white person to understand that not all Americans share their rosy apple pie version of the U.S. I'd rather have Michelle than a liar and corrupt woman like Hillary and her equally corrupt husband (oh yeah it will be a two for one deal) in the White House. NO MORE CLINTONS. If Obama does not get the nod I'll vote for McCain.

Comment: Obviously this article has exposed a nerve not found in the major media since everyone has been concentrating on Berack . My experience with Berack started when he gave a stump speech for our Democrate Senatorial candidate just days before the 2004 election. It was a magnificent speech just as his later ones seems to have been. Barack was running for the Senate himself so it was only recently I found out why he was not at home campaigning. His opponent(s) had quit the race. Later when Obama was running for President and before he had been concidered a real continder I just happened upon a TV program showing Michelle at a conference where most of those in the audience were Africian-American females. What I heard of her speech made me think she was all about "Ussen against them (meaning whites). It was disturbing enough that I had to rethink my responce to Obama. I also expresed to my wife that she should never be our First Lady. I realize now that the Reverend Wright episode surfaced that she had been influenced by him. While trying to find her original speech I discovered this long running commentary. I'm certain many of the Obama supporters will be disappointed if he becomes President. Just because you have the gift of gab doesn't mean you know what you are talking about or what to do with the facts as presented. I've seem many people that could sell most anything but had no idea how to make it work. Unfortunately even though our present President ,when running for the Office, had more experience than Obama it didn't do him any good. I just wonder what the majority of Black's will do when they find out they have been bamboozeled by someone that has been raised in a White environment and then sold his soul to the likes of a Rev. Wright to establish that he was Black enough. Interestingly Obama in his Rev. Wright speech detailed how he could not seperate himself from the Rev. Wright or the Black American's but switched to his white grandmother rather than acknowledge a heart felt connection to the White race that is in 50% of his genes.

Comment: I will be delighted to tell you who Michelle Obama is. She is someone who have never loved her country until the moment that her husband started performing well in the nomination process. That brings up a va;id question. Would she have hated her country had Senator Obama not done well? Will she hate her country if Sen. Obama does not win the nomination? Will she hate her country if he wins the nomination and then loses the general election? Are her views when it comes to America the same as those of Rev. Wright? It requires severe lack of interest in the obvious not to see who Michelle Obama truly is.

Comment: Every naturalization ceremony I've attended, where hundreds of new Americans raised their hands to swear an oath of allegiance to this land of liberty, has been a moment of pride for me. So have the awesome displays of American compassion at home and around the world. When millions of Americans rallied to help victims of the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia - including members of the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group that sped from Hong Kong to assist survivors - my heart filled with pride. It did again when the citizens of Houston opened their arms to Hurricane Katrina victims and folks across the country rushed to their churches and offices of the Salvation Army and Red Cross to volunteer.

How about American resilience? Does that not make you proud? Only a heart of stone could be unmoved by the strength, valor, and determination displayed in New York , Washington , D.C., and Shanksville, Pa. , on September 11, 2001.

I believe it was Michael Kinsley who quipped that a gaffe is when a politician tells the truth. In this case, it's what happens when an elite Democratic politician's wife says what a significant portion of the party's base really believes to be the truth: America is more a source of shame than pride.

Michelle Obama has achieved enormous professional success, political influence, and personal acclaim in America . Ivy League educated, she's been lauded by Essence magazine as one of the 25 World's Most Inspiring Women; by Vanity Fair as one of the ten World's Best-Dressed Women; and named one of "The Harvard 100" most influential alumni. She has had an amazingly blessed life. But you wouldn't know it from her campaign rhetoric and her griping about her and her husband's student loans.

For years, we've heard liberals get offended at any challenge to their patriotism. And so they are again aggrieved and rising to explain away Mrs. Obama's remarks.

Lady Michelle and her defenders protest too much.

Comment: cont'. Michelle, ma belle, Barack is not the center of the universe. Newsflash: The Obamas did not invent "change" any more than Hillary invented "leadership" or John McCain invented "straight talk." We were both adults when the Berlin Wall fell, Michelle. That was earth-shattering change. We've lived through two decades' worth of peaceful, if contentious, election cycles under the rule of law, which have brought about "change" and upheaval, both good and bad. We were adults through several launches of the space shuttle, in case you were snoozing. And as adults, we've witnessed and benefited from dizzyingly rapid advances in technology, communications, science, and medicine pioneered by American entrepreneurs who yearned to change the world and succeeded. You want "change"? Go ask the patients whose lives have been improved and extended by American pharmaceutical companies that have flourished under the best economic system in the world.

If American ingenuity, a robust constitutional republic, and the fall of communism don't do it for you, hon, then how about American heroism and sacrifice? How about every Memorial Day? Every Veterans Day? Every Independence Day? Every Medal of Honor ceremony? Has she never attended a welcome-home ceremony for the troops? For me, there's the thrill of the Blue Angels roaring over cloudless skies. And the somber awe felt amid the hallowed waters that surround the sunken U.S.S. Arizona at the Pearl Harbor memorial.

2 MICHELLES, 2 AMERICAS & SHAME vs. PRIDE

    By Michelle Malkin

Like Michelle Obama, I am a "woman of color." Like Michelle Obama, I am a working mother of two young children. Like Michelle Obama, I am a member of the 13th generation of Americans born since the founding of our great nation.

Unlike Michelle Obama, I can't keep track of the number of times I've been proud - really proud - of my country since I was born and privileged to live in it. At a recent speech in Milwaukee on behalf of her husband's Democratic presidential campaign, Mrs. Obama remarked, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Mrs. Obama's statement was met with warm applause from other Barack supporters who have also apparently been devoid of pride in their country during their adult lifetimes. Or maybe it was just a Pavlovian response to the word "change." What a sad, empty, narcissistic, ungrateful, unthinking lot.

I'm just seven years younger than Mrs. Obama. We've grown up and lived in the same era. And yet, her self-absorbed attitude is completely foreign to me. What planet is she living on? Since when was now the only time the American people have ever been "hungry for change"?

I can speak this words because I know the reality of racism and what this country does. To speak against it does not mean you are racist, ignorant, or un-patriotic. I means yours eyes are open wide to the true world in which we live, instead of inside the bubble many people reside.

Go Michelle, Hillary, and women and leaders like them! Go Obama '08! God Bless Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr.! God bless those with knowledge, and the poor peole who do not have it. Peace!

TAC has apologized for the actions of its employee (who the company says has not been fired, at State's request, while an investigation is underway).

Comment: So what if Barack sat through Wright's sermons. Who goes to Church to hear a pastor's views on politics? When my pastor goes off on some political issue - illegal immigration etc. I sit through it and discard those views in my mind as wrong and misdirected. Then I continue to listen for his preaching on the bible. If everyone had to disown their church and their pastor whenever he or she made a political statement not at the core or essence of the church's teachings, none of us could stick with any church too long. It's amazing how the concept of separation betwen church and state was on every journalist's mind when folks wanted to use Mormon precepts to discredit Mitt Romney, yet when it comes to a black candidate or black churhces, the concept of separation does not seem to apply. Since when did it become ok to suggest a candidate could not be viable because of their church, or worse, something their pastor said. Anyone who uses that as a reason already has a deep-seated bias that they're using this nonsense to justify. If America lets this opportunity to change America in fundamental ways pass, we'll have ourselves to blame. Ask yourself why the Clintons did not do while they were in power all those wonderful things they're promising to do if they win - why did they not change Healthcare then, but promise they can do so now? If all they can take credit for is lowering deficits and unemployment, I suggest to you the country deserves and needs far more than that in these changing and trying times, and only a candidate of Barack's depth, wisdom and vision can get us there. The mere statement that it would make to ourselves, to the world, to inner-city youth, to our own conscience to elect a black person should be enough to get us all juiced, never mind that the black person in question has vision, insight, intellect, a great track record, and an uncanny ability to work with and motivate people in ways not seen in this country in many decades. Instead, we allow folks like "Laim - baugh" and Hannity to dicatate the discourse and frame the debate, folks who in any cultured and politically sophisticated country would be the loony fringe. Lokk, my taxes might even be lower under McCain or Clinton, but for the sake of our Country, children and grandchildren and America's ultimate place in this fast changing world, let's get it right and vote in the force for changing America and its political institutions - whether he is black or whether his preacher says things not much more ignorant or spiteful than what Jerry Falwell, Rod Parsley and Pat Robertson say. If what his preacher syas has become a bright-line test for political office, then we might as well amend the constitution to reflect that much. God bless America - I hope.

Comment: sounds like Michelle Obama is a lady with her feet on the ground, and would be a help to her husband in uniting the country. No lines of race or religon. Know's both the poor side of life and the rich side while keeping her feet on the ground and helping her husband do the same. She would bak him up but not be a co president. Good going Michelle. Comment: We all say things that we should not say, but that does not make us a racist. Mr. Obama has the right to run for the office of president just like any other America. I agree with Mrs. Obama this county has injuried some many people of color for so long that it is refreshing to think that mabybe we are for the first time in the history of this country about to act on the words in our constitution. I think that this country has always had a deep racial divide, maybe he can bring about the healing this country has needed some that other countries around the world can look at Americans without laughing at the lies we have lived. Example: a man or woman of color is good enough to die for this country but still can not live in many communties. We need to stop asking God to Bless America if we refuse to treat everyone in it fairly, men, women and children white or black or gay or straight.

She is finally proud of America ( because her husband , African American ) is running for president . What about all the other great things this country has done ? She may or may not back Clinton if she gets the nomination , hey why because Clinton is not black ? Help . No I do not respect the Obama people and I think they will bring this great country to deep racial divide .

Comment: Michelle Obama represents a snapshot of america and those who lives outside of the life of generations of wealth, politics and influence. I dont believe she will has as much influence in decisions that her husband wills in the Senators office or even as President but she is very transparent and acknowledges SOME of her flaws as a person. If there is a perfect person on this Earth, I would not want to meet them as they would meet me and bcome normal just like all of us. Let each candidate be a bit normal, they are far from perfect.

Comment: People, in all your arguing about race, religion, etc....you are all missing the point. Both Obama and Clinton want "CHANGE" to mean Socialism/Communism/Marxism vs. Freedom to make our own choices and not have the GOVT make them for us. We are a Republic and have a democratic society. If you all think Bush is bad, then go ahead and vote for either of those two and see how bad things really get. You have NO clue. Take a look at Russia and you will have an idea. Get real! Open your eyes. This is about our country, not who went to what college or is what color or gender. I don't like McCain either, but I know the difference if he is elected, vs one of the other two!

Comment: When has any Democratic President in our history turned America into a Comuunist/Socialist government? By the way, Communism is not the same as Socialism, it was really more of a dictatorship than anything else. But how could any American President manage to do this? He would need the full support of the government and the military and maybe even the population. According to Marx there would have to be a Workers Revolution, a rising up of all the working class to overthrow the powers that be. This didn't happen with Communism and it's not going to happen just because a Democrate gets elected. Also, under the current Republican administration our rights and freedoms have become more eroded that at any other time in our history. Ever hear of the Patriot Act? This required Democrates AND Republicans. But who initiated it? The current Republican administration, that's who.

      • Posted By: InTheSouth @ 02/27/2008 08:58:42

Comment: Oh forgot to add, our government is a system of checks and balances remember? The President is not a King or Emperor or dictator. He doesn't have absolute power. How could he overturn all this, comnpletely change the structure of the government all by himself? And as I mentioned before, the current Republican President has probably gotten closer to bypassing the checks on his power than any other President, Democrate or Republican.

        • Posted By: freedomluver @ 02/27/2008 18:42:43

Comment: Well, I guess you just proved you are in favor of Communism. Moreover, neither socialism, marxism nor communism work. I am simply stating what the candidates have said - verbatim. Those statements are socialist. AND they are for socializing medicine. Who do you think will pay for that? We taxpayers. Nothing is free and I guess you are for just taxing us all to death. It's called a re-distribution of wealth and THAT my friend, in and of itself, is socialism. It requires only a vote and there we are. No more capitalism in this country because we won't have any incentive to work if the government is just going to give it to us for "free". My husband and I should just divorce, because that way I can still live with him and get on the welfare system FOREVER and not work. Gimme a break. Go read some history.

Comment: What do you think the education system is in this country? It's state-sponsored and free for everyone. We all pay taxes which in turn support the education of American children. Holy cow! By your reckoning, that must be communist! That's the way 'socialized' medicine would work as well. We'd all pay taxes -- we'd all have health care. If we called that socialized medicine, we could also call education 'socialized education.' Same difference. Don't get lost in your own ignorance.

          • Posted By: InTheSouth @ 02/27/2008 22:44:08

Comment: How the hell did you get that I support Communism from what I said? Apparently you didn't actually read what I wrote. Far as Communism and Marxism goes I agree they seem pretty much dead now. Socialism I'm not sure about, I think there may be some socialist democracies in Europe and/or Africa that are somewhat successful but I'm not sure, would have to check on that. But my point is that America isn't going to get turned into a Soviet Union just because a Democrate gets elected. Our President doesn't have that much power. And if something like national health care happens it's because the majority of Americans have asked for it, and a social program doesn't mean a Communist regime. We already have some social programs and our democracy is doing just fine. I suggest you read some history and find out how Communism was born in Russia. It was a whole different set of circumstances than modern America. I think the idea that any President could turn our country into another Russia or tyrannical Communist nation is absurd. Our government was designed to avoid that kind of thing, checks and balances, limited terms etc. Plus the fact that the American people just wouldn't accept it. There would be too much resistance..But those are just my opinions, If you don't wanna agree with em then don't. Makes no difference to me if you agree or who you vote for.

And this is the man some people want to see as president. He has no loyalty to the United States. God help us all if this man becomes president.

    • Posted By: alherron07 @ 03/01/2008 18:50:34

Comment: I do not believe America punishes people who work hard. Historically, Afro-Americans have had to confront the unfortunate dilemma of running a race against an opponent who receives a 10 mile head start (to state the matter lightly). The small tokenism of a few Afro-Americans benefiting from affirmative action (a program designed to right the wrongs of America's "racist" past and present) is nothing compared to the overwhelming privileged that has come with being "white" in America. It is both strange and disappointing for a foreigner whose only experience of America has come through it's lofty propaganda, TV, and films and is not equally versed in or blatantly ignores the complete history of this country's treatment of blacks, hispanics, and immigrants to endorse a meritocracy that has never existed since the country's inception. The American Dream never was The American Dream. It was the White Entitlement and everyone else was left to dream.

Amen. I heard that Michelle O. has been meeting with designers to work on changing the interiors of the WH. WHAT?? Her husband is not even the DEM nominee, let alone the president. Who does this Obama family think they are? The king and queen of America? They forget we don't them in America. The American people get to vote their own free will. Not what the what press or Obama tells them to do.

I am making calls for Hillary in all the states coming up and I am donating all I can. I really don't want to see what America is going to look like in 4 years with this stuck up couple in the WH. They think they have already won. They could careless if anyone else votes. It makes me sick to my stomach. If you would like to make calls or donate you can go her web site www.hillaryclinton.com . She can use all the help she can get.

The media is all for Obama. It is sickening. There is no more unbias press. I wish to God I knew what was going on. Why do you think the media is kissing Obamas butt?

I have already decided If GOD forbid Hillary doesn't make it, I will vote for Nader. I wouldn't vote for Obama if the world was coming to an end. I am speaking to my family and friends about leaving the DEM party and registering IND. I can't believe a guy that so many of his supporters think is GOD is trying to take over my great party. I am a 20 year lifelong DEM and I can't believe I am facing this.

I have also left a message for Howard Dean of the DNC and told him I will leave the DEM party and vote for Nader if Obama is the nominee. And that my family and friends are considering doing the same. If you would like to leave a message for Mr. Dean the number is (202)863-8000 open 8:30 am -5:30 pm or you can fax him at (202)863-8063

It is nice to see Hillary supporters on the blog.

I am getting really tired of Obama lying about everything Senator Clinton does. She or her camp didn't do anything. I saw this photo of Obama several months ago. It has been on the internet for anyone to see since he took it a few years ago. Obama just has no issues and he is afraid people are starting to see that. And see him for the phoney he is. Who will do and say anything to get elected. And in a time of war that is scary. Very, very scary. He has no experience to lead America. The only things I have heard him speak about were ideas Senator Clinton had first in 2007.

The Clintons certainly had experience when they signed into law the 3 strikes law and Welfare Reforms that have had devastating affects within ghetto communities throughout the U.S. It has practically made welfare a crime in a country that essentially needs a portion of the population to live subsistent lives in order to thrive.

Comment: It is interesting how people call the Clintons shady. Why won't Obama use public funding for a general campaign if he promised to do so just a few months ago? Why won't anyone, including NewsWeek, talk about his wife's ties to WalMart, icnluding a job on the corporate board of a company that is a major WalMart associate? Her husband has the audacity to criticize the Clintons for working to get WalMart employees better healthcare when his wife got a check from a company that helps the corporation spread worldwide and take advantage of their workers. Why can't Obama supporters name a signle aaccomplishment of his as a senator, besides voting for the war? Since when is a single vote cast enough to ensure you the most powerful office in the world. I've taken a U.S. Government course, can I run for senate?
Obama supprters are fighting a losing battle. What would be his plan of action? Does he even have one? There's a difference between giving a speech in front of a thousand people and standing toe to toe with Gordon Brown, U.K. Prime Minister, and explaining point by point a withdrawal for troops in Iraq. Talk is cheap. Politicians are politicians. Give me someone who knows what they are doing and can secure my family's future, and that is someone I will vote for.

Go Clinton, 2008! For all of our sakes...

It seems as if those phony politicians whom which I don't even know are trying to stop what America really needs. They see this BLACK man running for president and thats all that they see. (they tell the media something different, but that's what they honestly see) They would rather put the country in the hands of a white WOMAN than a BLACK MAN! Pay no mind to the fact that this black man has realness to him to realate to the hardships of the voters, and can unite and bring about change. That says a lot to me about the "home of the brave!" Other than an Obama supporter I will share that I am a black young woman, 18 as a matter of fact and I am from Massachusetts! I luckily turned 18 before Super Tuesday and had the pleasure in voting for Barack during our primary! Young, old, disabled, rich, poor, or uneducated the people are going to speak, and I don't know about you haters but I hear Obama's name ringing bells! O BAMA, O BAMA!

Comment: Research indicates there are 3, maybe 4 if you include congressmen, specific types of people that support PINKObumer.

      1. Hate themselves, and of course proclaim it is others that hate.
      2. Hate others, and of course proclaim it is others that hate.
      3. Most prevalent group: UDOPIANS: Characterized by bizarre manifestations of HOPE and CHANGE according to each individuals individual fantasy of utopia. UDOPIANS have the same side effects, not unlike alcoholics or drug addicts, they are in denial as to reality: that HOPE and CHANGE mean nothing; and yet those with UDOPIA feel HOPE & CHANGE means whatever they fanaticize it means. Each has the same basic politically correct response to those who try and point out they have UDOPIAN simplex: you are a neo-con or you hate or other similar politically correct accusations of the day. Someone points out: OBUMER you have UDOPIAN simplex: I see all the red flags of UDOPIA; same delusional HOPE for CHANGE answer every time.
      4. Congressmen, & their workers, who think PINKObumer is their: 4 more years of pork barrel: free meal ticket for their districts; no leadership with a clue to control congressional out of control spending.= easy re-election.
