As a white student attending the University of Missouri, Columbia, in the mid ???80s, I had the exact same experience. It was a trip back in time- I found it disconcerting that there was a black fraternal system and a white one. It seemed that black and white students lived in two parallel worlds and that our paths never crossed. It later occurred to me that the University had so many traditions that we were simply going along with the established system. The sad fact is that none of us ???college students??? thought to question it. We missed out on the opportunity to form friendships with a diverse group of people.

I do hope the Obamas make it to the White House. These two capable, intelligent and first-class individuals will bring youth, vitality and a whole new way of seeing to our highest office.

I feel like all the racist talk , needs to be let go. I t doesn't mattee whether or not a black or white women is on office as the President or wife, husband what ever. As, long as we get the right passoinate person for the job, which America, not a racist person's opinion's will vote too see. May the best man or women win. Go Obama.

Michelle Robinson Obama is ENOUGH of a reason NOT to vote for Osama!!! She is a
very, very angry black woman...I can understand why...she has to squeeze by on $400,000.00 a year and is forced, like Cinderella to live in a meager home that cost
a cheap $1.6 million. Military men & women all over the world find her angry, and
impulsive...I think she showed us that with her "PRIDE" statement!!! I'd like to take her
to Arlington Cemetery, so she could look across miles and miles of heros who sacraficed
for her sorry ass. She doesn't know what PRIDE really is....

A man named Larry Sinclair posted a video to YouTube claiming to have used cocaine and engaged in a gay sexual act with Obama when Obama was a state legislator in 1999.

In the video, Sinclair claims he and Obama met on two separate occasions, that Obama used crack cocaine and that Sinclair performed an oral sexual act on Obama both evenings.

Now Obama and company are quickly trying to quiet this man, but Sinclair has filed a federal lawsuit. Sinclair filed suit against Obama and his campaign guru David Axelrod and DNC chair Howard Dean in Minnesota district court for allegedly attempting to abridge Sinclair's right to free speech, and for waging an intimidation campaign against him.

It is amazing that we now know who Michele Obama is. But who is Barack Obama? The media has crowned him the next King of America but what they have told us about his accomplishments has been scant at best. If there is nothing more for us to learn about him then he is not fiti to be the president at this time. He cannot be elected solely on the basis of speeches that we now know are not his! As a white American woman, I am thrilled by the prospect of Michelle Obama being First Lady and representing American womanhood to the rest of the world. She is strong, determined, brilliant, classy and elegant. Her love for her husband is obvious. Her ability to engage as an equal with the likes of Barack Obama speaks volumes, not only about African-American women, but about all American women who get up every day and are strong and give their very best to their husbands, their families, their jobs and their country. Enough of First Ladies who sit silently on their tuffets smiling obsequiously as their husbands destroy the world. Mrs. Bush certainly doesn't represent American womanhood. Michelle Obama does, and she makes me proud!

As a dedicated soulmate/wife, mama of many, career woman who
chose to "stay at home" & support my hubby's career, Michelle Obama
& I seem to be on similar , if not , the same page.
I empathise with her concerns of "safety" and keeping perspective
& balance about their values pre and post nominations.
Since we are a family of great faith in our God and His wisdom to
guide us as we remain in His will for the good of the many, we
pray for Michelle, Sen Obama & their children, placing a protective
hedge of their spirit, soul, & body (plural) about them during this
challenging time. Never forgetting we war against principalities
unseen, as well as our obvious enemies.

I would like to know about MIchelle's comment that this is the first time in her adult life that she is really proud of her country! Is this because, as a black person, she thinks this is the first time our country has "done them right"? Because I have lived in countries where I, too, felt like the minority and was segregated and ridiculed because I was an American, or I was not of their race. I have seen how this country has gone out of their way to help others - until this President - and was loved and respected around the world. I have seen lots of things we as a country have done, not just abroad, but here at home, to make our country better and stronger. I am sorry that she thinks that only because her husband, a black man, is successfully running for President, that finally our country is doing something she can be proud of!

I am white and proud but let me tell you being retired and on minimum income, minimum health benefits, being a small person in a big peoples world has put me in some very tight positions. Let us all beware that no matter who we are or what we are life has its ups and downs. I want to congratulate Mr Obama for choosing his lifelong mate wisely when he chose his wife, also having such a fine family. I am with Barack and Michelle all the way. We need "Change" bad in this country, first, learn to love yourself, love your neighbor, and help one another in need. We all need Barack and Michelle in the White House. Barack as President and believe me, Michelle would make a fine Vice President.
