P.S. I am also for the peace and love among all people as you dear Vangeli. So why not we live all together , as you said, in autonomous Kosovo within Serbia and care for the prosperity and well-being of all of us. Albanians will forgot what Milosevic did , Serbs will forgot what Albanians did in last 9 years. Is that what you are saying? Or I am bitter again?

The fanatics who I see posting these comments are just single minded and full of hate. They don't judge the individual but stereo type all under a cloud of hate. I am not stating that bad things have not happened but to end the hate the mature people need to stand up. Look at Rwanda - in 1994, 800,000 were slaughtered in only 100 days - but today they have reconciled. This can be done in Kosovo as well but it will take humility and the elimination of pride (I will never understand what the whole "pride" thing is about - being "proud" just because you were born Serb or Albanian). Foolishiness.

As for the Orthodox Christian vs Muslim thing - Albanians are recovering Communists and I found have a hunger for the Lord. Albania is not a "muslim" country but a country trying to find itself. Albania need to be prayed for and more Christian missionaries need to sent there to meet the demand of these new "babes" in Christ. By the way, being born in a "Orthodox" country does not make one a Christian - being a Christian is a person committment to Jesus Christ by accepting him as your Saviour. Amen!

God bless Vangeli! Keep up the love for others in the name of Christ. Pray for the U.S. as well. We are not a perfect country and the leaders, within good intentions have made mistakes, but Americans are generous and mean well. We privately give to global charity more than any other country in the world. Pray that the U.S. leaders will find I love for the Lord and seek God's guidance as well.

Republic of Kosovo will flourish. All this rubbish that there are lots of criminals and organised crime (in Kosovo), I can assure you that is no more than in any other country in Europe.
Kosovo was ruled, occupied by a bunch of criminals (Serbian government) who were working closely with these criminals in Kosovo.
Now we have a state, we will have our own police and army, our government.
Judge us after few years and we will see who the real criminals are?

You can as well get a blog going on for newsweek. You can send the $ to the support serb lobbying or buying weapons. Either way, it will not help your cause. It is unbeliavable that Serbs like you think that they are "the best thing" that happend to the balcans/world. You do not like Croatioans, Slovenians, Macedonians and Albanians. Yet, people like you who seem so patriotic live and come to the US - while you have a country and are not like the Jews before WW2. You come to the US and wish for this country's demise. It is sad and opportunistic in their end and people like you should never became a US citizen, and yet they do.
You keep mentioning how bad the Albanians are bringing a few examples. Do not except answers from this blog for that. Most of us here do not expect you to have the answers as to why the Serbs disintregrated Yugoslavia, why they started so many wars in the last 20 years, why they killed so many people, whether Croatians, Slovenians, Bosniacs and Kosovo Albanians. People like you just talk in the wind, wishing for another Milosevic to take over Serbia. And even if it did, it will not solve problems of the people in Serbia while people like you have the american life with anything that comes with it.
There are many articles written out there, do not waste your time only on this.

Hello vangeli - You are the bright spot on this post and God bless you too! Those of us who accepted Jesus Christ are all brothers in Christ. Just like what Paul wrote - Jew and Gentile alike, today we can be brothers as well.

I have always studied history and turned to Albanian history to understand my wife's former country. The stories I hear how bad it was under Enver Hoxha and to see all the bunkers in person! It is interesting how Albanians in the south view Albanias in the north. Seeing the beautiful Ionian Sea and Corfu on the horizon among the Greek minority villages was beautiful (by the way - I heard the Greek minority were persecuted under the communists----more hate but this time against their countrymen) Hanging out with her cousins along the beach in the club "Havana" drinking beer and coffees was enjoyable. On the otherside, driving was a nightmare, the drivers are beyond rude (psychotic compared to the U.S.), hundreds of partially built structures along the highways, and Tirana was quite pollluted but has potential. The other cities of Vlore, Fir (spelling? - pronounced "fear") I found very dirty and delapitated.

Those who I met in Albanian were very nice, generous people, concerned with their families and finances, not the wars among Serbs/ethnic Albanians in Kosovo. They actually discussed the U.S. - Iraq War with me!They have their own problems to tend to such as paying for their childrens university education in Athens or other parts of the world. The parents work hard for their children, just like in the U.S. and I assume the rest of the world (ie Serbia).

The most beautiful women I saw (besides my wife) were the Albania women in Italy (not the one's living in Albanian), and of course the Italian women as well. Combining the features of an Albanian woman with the products offered in Italy you can really create a beautiful women! Since living in Albania is a hard life it takes a toll on a woman's appearance.

ninoo - I do hope that Kosovo will flourish, but I rightfully have my doubts after having traveled to Albania. I do think they deserve a chance, and with NATOs help they just might make it. Being that Albanians have been the joke of Europe for years they need America's support. America will help where the Europes trival pet peeves have done nothing but look silly. Don't count on the EU to do anything but hope for America.

A considerable greek minority? You mean as considerable as the 120,000 serbs in Kosova? - Actually, it is great being a greek minority in Albania. They are about 200,000, they get educated in Greek, most have even Greek passports and Albanian ones, they are not attacked for who they are - So, NO ONE asks for independence.
While tables have been turned in Kosova, Serbs have a chance to make a living there and the EU will make sure they have their rights protected. They might instead burn a border post and try to join Serbia, however, it will not work. Hang in there, it will not be an easy ride for either side.

Some more historical facts from the recent history : This is not a first time that Kosovo make official declaration of independence.They did it on 2. of July 1990.,it was a little bit a less accepted than that is now. Also north Macedonia made some declaration of ILIRIDA independence on 24.of March same year '90. There are lot of places in the world , you have no idea how much , that proclaimed independency and never get internationally recognized . As it will be the case of Kosovo for the second and later third and fifth time ... and so on. I am not interested in this since I know that Kosovo will NEVER have it chair in the UN. I am deeply concern for the people living there and whether the minority problems will ever be solved?
