Another Failed State?

Serbia is a Nazi State. My family was killed by Serbs and we are not Albanian but Jewish.
If you are not a Serb then you are dead. They have gotten away with murder and GENOCIDE for hundreds of years. Bravo Kosovo, you are now free of these Barbarians. Thank you Albania for saving my life and so many other Jews.

As as far as I am concerned, Serbia lost its right to govern and to call Kosovo its own after they brutally governed and tore Kosovo apart for most of the 90's. Let us not forget the consequences of serb ultra-nationalism and that it still alive and well within Serbia. It is this movement that led to the newest european state. Every effort towards compromise on this issue led to a stalemate and no choice but for the US and EU powers to advance independence. Be very proud Kosovo, your day has finally arrived.

Serbs themselves used to say: Trepca radi, Beograd se gradi (Trepca working, Belgrade being built). Now, let me ask you where is Trepca located? Exactely, Mitrovica (north Kosova). Now, let me ask you one more thing: where are now Serbs mostly concentrated in Kosova? Exactely, in the northern part of Mitrovica (where I was brought up, and haven't been for eight years now). Doesn't that say enough? Doesn't that mean that you are those trying to rob? Plus, the church built on the northern part of Mitrovica has only been built a couple years ago, but will pretend your entire life that it has been there since when you came to this region (thirteenth century)... however, the entire world knows it hasnt been there always. not that i have anything against the church, but hey, why try and steal albanian territory building churchs. this was not a religious conflict... Kosova's war was waged for the rightous right for self-governance and to give an end to primitive slavery in modern days...

comment for thazay: how can you be such an expert in these subject. this tells me you and people might have experience. if you need to know i'll give you some information. these "neighbor" counties you are talking about possess ilegally more albanian land than all the land inside the border. plus, who should be afraid of albanian people? something tells me that you might be part of these "neighbor" counties that abuse albanians only because are smarter than them. so please one word of advice. if you do not know the history and abuse these albanian people are suffering from these so called"neighbors" then please do not make such a comment. if you cannot help do not spill poison.

This unilateral declaration of independence and mostly its support by US and some EU countries is a straight violation of international law and justice. This entity, claiming to be a newborn country has not the sligtest legal substance, since it was not born within the UN framework, the only internationaly recognised institution wich has the legal power to give birth to a country. Until the day that there will be a UN unanimous resolution on the proper solution of the Kosovo problem, with the consensus of Serbia, this new born "country" will be a ghost/false state.

im a Kosovar Albanian and want to thank the civilized world for the support offered and for taking a just stance. those with some education can easily detect flaws in the claims that Albanians outnumbered Serbs in Kosovo over time. the truth is that Albanians have always been living here, the entire world knows this. plus, some british politician in early 20th century acknowledged the fact that the "Albanian nations has been done unjust for the sake of peace in Europe" and that is when Kosova was taken over by Serbs with the approval of Europe... but Europe seems to have a memory and a desire to resettle justice.

Serbia, Russia and others talk about the illegality of Kosovo's independence. What about the illegality of the massacres prompted by Serb-dominated Yugoslavia? Serbia lost the right to govern its people by it own actions!

I for starterters agree with dritero. The reason why kosovo has such a hight unemployement rate is due to the fact that it is run by Serbs and not Kosovo itself. How many horror stories have i seen on tv of all those masacres that the serbs did against Kosovo, how many people fleed in Albania and god know where else to escape those massacres. All serbia wanted was the rich Kosovo land to use it for its own benefits and to draw Kosovo out of its own motherland well that didnt happen. Also, FYI Kosova was a constitutive part of Yugoslavia as per the Constitution of 1974 of then Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia. In addition, to Zoran specifically, if anyone is responsible for the high unemployment in Kosova, that would be Serbia. Over 150,000.00 Albanians were fired from their jobs in 1990-ties by the government of Serbia. I know it hurts but the pain will only go when you are able to face yourself and recognize the wrongdoing to others as a nation and as single person. Let us not forget that each one of you (Serbs) are individually responsible for all the destruction that occurred during the bloody dissolution of Yugoslavia ??? Slobodan Milosevic and the Socialist Party of Serbia won all the elections organized in Serbia since 1990 with a majority of more that 60 ??? 70% until he lost all the wars he started. He (Milosevic) only lost the elections in October, 2000 because he lost the wars and all he pledged for was and could not be accomplished, except the genocidal Republica Srpska. Eight thousand killed in Srebrenica in a matter of hours by the holly Serbs. Who knows, maybe they all went straight to haven! Hey, they were killed by angels, were they?!

How in the world can Serbians not take any responsibility for all the blood shed they caused during the break up of Yugoslavia and in Kosovo? Awake up already, you have been ruled by a bunch of war criminals and continue to be led by them, only they are now wearing suits and ties.

There is no doubt that Kosovo has a long way to go, but it is on the right path, with the continual support from the West it will eventually make it. If anything Serbia is a failed state, I had the misfortune of working there for a couple of years, the people are so depressing and the economy is in a dreadful state. I'd choose the West over Russia as an ally any day of the week.

Go Kosovo - and good riddance to Serbia, where they pretend to uphold democratic values but in reality they are bunch of nationalistics pigs......If Serbia doesn't want the join the EU, who cares we don't need them anyway, they are an insignifiacnt country going down the toilet ...
