Another Failed State?

I saw the same show tonight on Geraldo. We all lived through what happened with Kosovo through the Serbs and it was sad. We saw the United States asist and help during those early years of change. Now so many millions of people will have more hope and more of a life. It will take time but this country will grow. It will be tough and first Russia and some other Balkan nations have to be behind this. Geraldo Rivera and Alan Premel were both so supportive and excited about this new event that i couldnt help but to be excited for them also. I never knew that Geraldo traveled to Kosovo during those times as a war reporter. I am thankful that they did because the footage was amazing. Opened my eyes up to a part of the world that i never would have known about.

Is becoming independent solve all problems the people of Kosovo are facing? I would say the people lack Passionate, intolerable and forgiving attitude. A secular state or not is not important if the people is not tolerable. You see India and Pakistan having several wars since independence.

I do not know why we all cannot be happy for this newly created state. The balkans have seen such hardships over the years. I watched a former senior CIA analyst tonight on Gerlado at large, alan premel, an officer who was in charge of the balkans lay out that this was a ten year process. We should be happy for these people who have a new chance with life, business opportunity and the chance at seeing with our own eyes a new government take form and shape. History just happened and its amazing to see.

What absolute hypocrite, its amazing how you lay claim to a history that never existed. Bask in glory today, the terrible injustice that has been thrust upon a people who had no choice via the colonialists of Europe. This decision will forever haunt Europe and open pandora's box to falsified history of a backward people who have never to this day brought anything positive to the table except violence and intimidation.

Perhaps, Kosovo begs the questions, "Just whom does a Nation-State serve and protect? What guarantees does a large government offer when it is bureaucratically far removed from the people it is supposed to serve and protect?

History is the best way to understand what happened in Kosova today. Former Yugoslavia was a fake state created by the major powers with Mother Russia's drive to create a home for the serbs. They united different nationalities, languages, cultures and heritages. While leaders like Tito were able to satisfy in a balabced way the needs and wants of the 6 republics and the 2 autonom provinces (including Kosova), leaders like Miloshevic did the opposite. Serbia alone bears the fault for the disintregration of Yugoslavia and they bear the blame for starting the wars. Serbian's crimes in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosova deserve a parallel with the Nazi crimes in WW2. Kosova was always albanian and over 90% of the populations is albanian. You can not force a nation whose people have suffered so much to be part of one country who was the oppressor, the killers and butchers. Miloshevic and his lakeys are the the cause for the serbian's failure to move on. Nationalism is the right drive to move on the county, but the energy is negative and it will set the country back.
To all of you who curse US for its support and wish its future failure, why don't you pack your bags and go back to Serbia whether to help the country or fight for it. Unforntunately, it iwll not help the country either way. And there is not much that mother Russia can do about it. The road to indipendence it will be long, however for the albanian people in Kosovo it will be worthwhile waiting, rather than being under the Serbian rule. The quicker the Serbs realize that, the better off the Balkans will be.

The only way possible is a benifit for Bush! When more American blood is shed, on a waste of time and effort, but we will, you watch we will. we need the body bags to start to fly! So sath the big boys in DC, who have nothing to lose!

How in Gods name can the U.S. and Nato declare a state of a nation an independent country. This move is a violation of international law and isn't seen as a legitimate nation. Secomd of all the state has none of the necessary agencies to support there own people. They will be an occupied state dependent on outsiders to run their ministries, a people dependent on international support to survive. They have no idea on how to provide for the people.

Kosovo independence should not be a "special case" may all the minorities around the world declare independence as well. I hope the Mexicans finally take back what's rightfully theirs in the Southwesten United States too. Let's just disregard all international laws so that America could justify to its Saudi Sheik Masters that it doesn't hate all muslims just the ones in the middle east

First look at the history??? do not be ignorant about what has been going on for a long time Kosovo is an Albanian nation. It always was and always will be even when they did not have their independence they still called themselves Albanian because they are so do some research ahead of time. And "freedom for Serb" they are free they are also greedy because they want something that does not belong to them. I am looking forward to the day when Kosovo will finally become a part of Albania as it always should have been because they are 1 people they are Albanian and not even the many years of separation has that been forgotten.

Yes, Kosovo is not Germany, and Serbs are not the Nazi oppressors even though it is now very obvious that a lot of money has been invested in anti-Serb propaganda (K.Albanians keep being portrayed as victims despite the fact that the Serbian population in Kosovo is ethically cleansed and strangely noone seems to recognize and publish the truth from the experts' findings in Kosovo!)

but were turned to rubble under the patronage of United Nations within
few short years of their taking over so called security and
administration of the province. Today they come to force Independence
for Kosovo and Metohija and brutally stealing Serbian Holy Lend. I hope
there is no Christian or either honest human being who can approve such
an act.

To topikuq: take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Its well known fact that Albanians engaged PR firms to claim that they being brutally oppressed by Serbia. You only see history from the perspective of the West that trained all the terrorists that now run this illegally independant country with no UN mandate. To dismember a soveriegn country without the consent of the UN is a contrvention of international law and treaties that member states have signed up to. Please don't sit their and claim the moral high ground, you will never become a member of the UN and your asperations will be defeated when the world finally wakes up and see the true intentions of your war mongering peoples.
