In the event of a monarch or heir wishing to convert to another religion, all that would happen is that they would have to abdicate and hand over to the next royal in line. it might cause a bit of a kerfuffle at the time, as per Edward VIII's abdication in 1936, but the machinery to carry on is there. No threat, no sweat! And note that no-one ever attempted to murder Edward, even though some of his actions may have been bordering on treasonable. Mohammed Al Fayed is basically a grieving father looking for a third party to blame for his son's death. Comment: I agree. Very one-sided view in this piece. I think Fayed is still heartbroken over his son's death and grasping at a conspiracy theory to make sense of a senseless death. I do think there was some kind of lowballing going on by the royal family, but I don't think they conspired to kill Diana. It was a tragic example of what money hungry paparazzi can do.
