Comment: Politico, You seem to have forgotten that we live in AMERICA and have the priviledge of
FREEDOM of speech. O'reilley has the RIGHT to say anything he wishes...I am sick of
blacks being able to tell the MAJORITY of Americans what words we can and cannot use.
    I can say ANYTHING I want...I can say I HATE OBAMA...I HATE TOWELHEADS...I HATE
IDIOTS....see where this is going?? The freedom of speech extends to ALL people, not
just blacks..People, like you, who espouse ignorance, only want people to use the
WORDS...blacks hate....BUT, you continue to use them to bash one another...pot
calling the kettle black??? Oops, was that a racist remark???? If I want to wear a noose
around my neck, IT"S AMERICA...it may be an expression of my artistic ideals...FREEDOM is for ALL..not just paranoid blacks who've, as Bill Cosby said, taken huge leaps from
progress back into the '50's....you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Comment: What some folks including "holy roller "do when they don't know all the facts is make them up. They cherry pick rumors that will push their hatred agenda the easiest. No wonder Sen. Obama appeals to the educated. They are probably relieved to hear some intelligence in our elections. I can't believe I'm reading this kind of tripe so late in the game. I suspect he will be our next president. Get over it. JMB

Comment: I am going to do something I never thougth I wuold do. I am going far off post to help protect Sen. Obama and his family. During a recent show, I am told, Bill O'Reilly said the following about Michelle Obama.

???And I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down.??? Bill O???Reilly, Fox News

This is being said on our public airwaves. Is this America 2008 or America 1930?

These words, Lynching, and "tracking down" are weasel words that any sane person in O'Reilly's position knows can and might incite real violence against this woman, Sen. Obama and her family. It is beyong irresponsible. I am a journalist who interned on Fox News some years ago then happily went home to decency and sanity. His listeners are not necessarily all weather men, but many are close to that kind of mentality. His words are inflammatory, retro evil, and meant to incite hatred. He does not belong on our public air waves.

He must be made to resign publicalyy after apologizing on air to Sen. Obama and his family. We talk about defeating terrorism abroad but permit it here?
For a more direct response, I suggest all decent Americans picket Mr. Roger Ailes. His office is in the Fox building in New York City. Bombard Ails, who prides himself on being a gentleman (???), with communications asking for Ailes removal. Boycott their sponsors.
Hate crimes are against the law and hold more severe punishment. That law should apply to all those who incite hatred as well. JMB a veteran, a mother, a journalist, a passionate lover of our United States Constitution.

Comment: Since Senator Clinton is in the business of solutions maybe someone can explain to me why she allowed herself to lose 10 straight states in a row. Oh I know her justification: They are caucases I dont do well with those. They are red states we wont win them in the general election anyway. Red state democrats apparently dont count. They have a high AA population so they are going to vote for Obama anyway. Apparently the female population was not higher than the male. Then there is the money well he has raised more money than us so of course he will do better. I guess raising money is not part of the campaign strategy so we can use it as an excuse to justify our loss. Her new excuse for Texas is that they apportion delegates differently and because AA areas tend to have higher turnout she may not do as well. Wow I guess we can trust her to find any type of justification. I doubt Texas delegate rules were just newly created in the last month or so. Why didnt Senator Clinton figure this out and get people in areas where there is high percentage of AA voters. Because I'm sure she'll say Obama has the AA vote. Thats when it all went wrong for Senator Clinton but she hasnt figured that out yet.

It seems to me that Mrs. Clinton is in the EXCUSES business rather than the solutions one. Perhaps if she spent less time bringing down Obama and more time aggressively targeting his bases she'll really be in the solutions business. He is winning 90% of the AA vote seems to me thats an area she can best cut into since she and her husband has a history with them. But Mrs. Clinton is content to write it off as if AA voters are merely voting for Obama because he is black.

Her campaign has failed to adust to Obama. Has ran out of money. Has had to replace people and yet Mrs. Clinton can say she is in the solutions business with a straight face. Personally I'd be embrassed to make such a claim but thats just me.

Comment: HERE'S yOUR pROOF HALLOW. I AM VERy GLAD yOU ASKED THIS QUESTION.
THIS pROVES THAT OBAMA IS THE REAL DEAL SON.

Obama proved persuasive enough that the bill passed both houses of the legislature, the Senate by an incredible 35 to 0. Then he talked Blagojevich into signing the bill, making Illinois the first state to require such videotaping.

Obama didn't stop there. He played a major role in passing many other bills, including the state's first earned-income tax credit to help the working poor and the first ethics and campaign finance law in 25 years (a law a Post story said made Illinois "one of the best in the nation on campaign finance disclosure"). Obama's commitment to ethics continued in the U.S. Senate, where he co-authored the new lobbying reform law that, among its hard-to-sell provisions, requires lawmakers to disclose the names of lobbyists who "bundle" contributions for them.

Taken together, these accomplishments demonstrate that Obama has what Dillard, the Republican state senator, calls a "unique" ability "to deal with extremely complex issues, to reach across the aisle and to deal with diverse people." In other words, Obama's campaign claim that he can persuade us to rise above what divides us is not just rhetoric.

Avian flu: Obama was one of the first Senators to speak out on avian flu, back in the spring of 2005, when it was a quintessentially wonky issue, not the subject of breathless news reports. There's a list of Democratic efforts on avian flu here; Obama shows up early and often. He has sponsored legislation, including what I think is the first bill dedicated to pandemic flu preparedness. It's a good bill, providing not just for vaccine research and antiviral stockpiles, but for the kinds of state and local planning and preparedness that will be crucial if a pandemic occurs. (I was also very interested to note that it requires the Secretary of HHS to contract with the Institute of Medicine for a study of "the legal, ethical, and social implications of, with respect to pandemic influenza". This is actually very important, and not everyone would have thought of it.)
"We recommend that this administration work with Congress, public health officials, the pharmaceutical industry, foreign governments and international organizations to create a permanent framework for curtailing the spread of future infectious diseases.

There were death penalty abolitionists, some of whom worried that Obama's bill, by preventing the execution of innocents, would deprive them of their best argument. Vigorous opposition came from the police, too many of whom had become accustomed to using muscle to "solve" crimes. And the incoming governor, Rod Blagojevich, announced that he was against it.

THIS IS A pERFECT EXAMpLE OF WHAT OBAMA CAN DO AND HAS ALREADy DONE, BRING DIFFERENT FACTIONS TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL.

Comment: If Hillary expects to have any chance at getting the nod from the Super Delegates she MUST gain an advantage that has thus fare eluded her. She needs to go back to Clinton hardball. Obama is a very easy target. Simply pu, he is not what he presents himself to be.

Young and inexperienced, simply overblown with rhetoric and little substance, ties to an anti-American cult like "church" and "Rev."(not to mention his wife), Islamic sympathizer, Resko, Resko, Resko(another mohameed), illegal drug use, Voting record of Present,etc.etc.etc.

Novak reported some time ago about some "dirt" that she had on Obama..If true she better use it now. The GOP certainly will not be so politically correct.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the convention. Can't wait to see one of Hillary's NOW supporters whack one of the Obama mohammeds in the head with her Hillary sign.

In ALL devout muslim society, if a mohammed leaves or denies the faith, they are considered apostate and are condemned to death. Not the case with Hussein though. Instead, he is considered a muslim savior within Indonesia. They know the truth. America just doesn't want to. But we will.

    Comment: Progressive Action Score: 69
A score of 69 means that Sen. Obama has acted to support 69% of a slate of progressive policies in the 110th Congress. Progressive, forward-looking actions Senator Obama has taken to merit a PAS of 69:

Senator Obama cast a vote against the ironically named Protect America Act. The Protect America Act is a law now passed by both houses of Congress which replaces judicial warrants with executive prerogative and substitutes blank checks for reasons. The Protect America Act gives the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence the power to spy on your emails, your web surfing, your telephone calls and other electronic communications. All this is carried out without a warrant, which is required by the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

There is no supervision of the spy programs put in place by the Attorney General and the DNI, except by these two indivivuals themselves. No one has the power to stop them any more. They can search your records, sift through your private messages, watch you go from web page to web page, on the pretext of protecting America from terrorists, all without a search warrant. No one has the power to tell them no.

the Attorney General and the DNI, both political appointees of the President, have the power under the Protect America Act to order any American to help them conduct their electronic spying against other Americans. Under the new law, if they order you to take part in their spying operations, and you say no, they can throw you in prison. If you do not keep their spying on other Americans a secret, even from your family, they can throw you in prison.

The Protect America Act institutes Big Brother government in the United States. It betrays American liberty. It is a shame that the Act passed, but thanks are due to Senator Obama for casting a vote against it.

    Right Wing Index Score: 0
A score of 0 means that Senator Obama has acted to support 0% of a slate of conservative, wrongheaded policies in the 110th Congress.

McCain already has issues with CONSERVATIVES this will not help his CAUSE.
CAN IT BE THAT HUCKABEE's pRAyers HAVE BEEN ANSWERED

    LET's LOOK AT THE FACTS.
OBAMA has shown he can organize millions of people into an organized and effetive political force.
He has made the correct judgements consistently throughout his campaign. AND THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. AT HARVARD AS WELL.
HIS TEAM IS A REFLECTION of HIM ORGANIZED HONEST AND HARD WORKING.
    CONSISTENT, GENUINE.

    A lot of firing's.
    A lot of bad JUDGEMENTS
CONFUSION AND pANIC as a result of bad judgement and wrong decisions.
THE BLAME GAME. IT's your fault, no its his fault, that's it you are FIRED.
LETs GO RACIAL My destiny is more important.
It is a reflection of her style. BROAD AGENDA's, BIG plans, that are blocked by gridlock, powerful lobbyist and her inablility to unite factions in order to implement a specific agenda. COMBINE THESE FACTS WITH SCANDAL and you are left with no HOpE and a BUSH in the OVAL OFFICE.

BEING president IS ABOUT UNITING THE COUNTRy. THIS IS WHy, not just anyone can become COMMANDER N CHIEF. BEING president involves making real time decisions very frequently. OBAMA HAS proven time and time again he has a "nack" for making calm, cool, correct decisions in a real time enviornment. BE HONEST LOOK AT THE CONTRAST in CAMpaigns. THE FACTS ARE THERE.

THE MEDIA NEEDs TO REALIZE THAT THEy are a tool of indoctrination. ANy GOOD politician can manipulate the media in their favor. OBAMA AND BILL ARE VERy good politicians.

OBAMA STANDS FOR REAL CHANGE. HE IS NOT A DESperate CANDIDATE THAT WILL SAy ANyTHING TO GET ELECTED. BARAKOBAMA is not a fortune teller he cannot have concrete plans ready until he has his complete pRESEDENTIAL team together. THEN HIS pLAN HAS TO pASS BOTH HOUSES. ONE step at a time. TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL is a political trap because things change. OBAMA IS A pro and will not fall into that trap.

BILL ORiely is a racist. HE MIGHT NOT THINK HE IS BUT HE IS.
IF IMUS GOT FIRED WH is ORIEL STILL ON THE AIR
BILL O'Riely is the very reason we cannot vote a REpublican into office.

Has the American electorate heard any of these candidates speak to the issues of bipartisan Congressional allegiance to the obstructions of justice in both the Executive and Judicial Branches of Government? How this nation came to wage a war on terror and ended up destabilizing society from New Orleans to Iraq and back again. How the United States Congress is the clearinghouse for the abuses in government oversight and reform, judicial review to obstructions of justice, appropriations committee;s for funding a war that both Parties have engaged the American electorate into funding. Being held hostage to support an illegal pariliament in Iraq is what the American electorate are paying.

Comment: It is so interesting to read all of the posted comments about the presidential race. I am encouraged that so many people are joining in this community forum and are becoming engaged in the political process. For so many years only a few seemed to care about elections and the electoral process.
Yes, I am a moderate Democrat who decided to support Barack Obama. But, more importantly I see so many who are interested in supporting their candidate - that's a good thing. Some supporters are really energized and enthusiastic for their candidate; others are more interested in denegrating the opposition than elevating their own position and candidate. But, that's what freedom of expression is about.
Of particular interest to me is HolyRoller's comments. You are really very bright and have a terrific sense of humor. I encourage you in your entreprenuerial endeavors. I also agree that you are wise to market your tee-shirts at Republican gatherings -at the price you quote - because the rest of us out here just about can't afford to put milk on the table or gas in our cars to get to work. Others of us have to live paycheck -to-paycheck because of declining wages and increasing costs of living and can't afford those prices. The price you quote is way beyond many of us in this country who are not part of the political base of the Red-State elite - the "Haves & Have-Mores". I wish you well.
As for me, I will vote for Obama in '08 because all politics is personal and this is a very, very personal vote for me. I finally have the chance to speak with my vote because somone is finally saying what I believe needs to be said - "It's time for a Change" . . . of the a dirty diaper known as the status quo, politics as usual -the odor of which has permeated Washington over the past 8 years, and that has become too offensive for me.

Me? I'm considering making some money off this whole thing. Might start a T-Shirt company, market around Republican gatherings and sell them faster than I can make them

This is my idea. A pretty nice quality shirt to begin with. A well drawn caracature of Sen. Obama, wearing a turban, neru jacket accompanied with some love beads while proudly displaying a pease sign. I'm considering a gold tooth but haven't really decided..Underneath the words.NOBAMA!!!

Ya'll think they will sell @ $75 each?

Comment: Do you people really believe that Obama has America's best interest at heart. How is it that he is unknown and over night he is on his way to becoming president of the United States? I think that foregin money can buy a lot of people, not to mention that the prejudice card has been played by the Obama camp from the very beginning. If any one else (other canidates or the media) brings up the fact that Obama is black with
muslim ties, the black community goes crazy (yeah, thanks Oprah). That is what the Obama camp was banking on using our own befiefs against us, just like they did on Sept. 11, with our planes. I really wanted to believe in him, I even went to hear him speak and as I sat listening, I felt like yes he is brilliant, smart and promising, but I had some nagging doubt, I couldn't quite place my finger on until later when I realized what had been bothering me, it was the old saying "If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is" People I am Democrat but there is something wrong with this canidate! I am really worried about this man holding the highest office in the United States and world. I am a person of color and I do not want him as the president!!! If I have to I will vote republican! I sugguest we all forget about the color of his skin and ask our selves, how did he rise so fast?

Consiparcy theories with no objective facts behind them, and feelings that can't be explained about someone you have never met ,by themselves, don't give an explanation that helps. The reference to 9-11 is uncalled for.

Comment: Thank you for admitting his mohammedness. If only 10% are "radical" that means 30,000,000 wany you dead. Its not only his mohammednesss that is troubling, but his ties to Resko(another mohammed),his link to a radical cultic "church", with strong muslim sympathy and strong anti-Israel views, the fact that to pay for his CHANGE means European type taxes. His foriegn policy views, i.e. make friends with Iran, bomb Pakistan, turn Iraq into a field of millions slaughtered. But he sounds so good saying it. Flanders, you need to get off the YouTube and look at the world realistically.

Comment: I don't know what Mohammedness is, so I didn't admitt this.

All of our (us and others (Mohammeds as you call them, even though I think you mean Muhammeds)) worldviews are what has brought us to where we are today (the good and bad). From what I see this realistic worldview of "we are right and you are wrong and you must change to be like, and we will use force to insure that" isn't working. History can show what has been the result of this view.

Obama offers that we talk to our enemies to try another approach. Who knows if it will work. The first time around it probably won't, but new mentalities and approaches at the top are needed.

I don't think anyone wants to turn Iraq into a field of millions slaughtered (I don't recall Obama saying that either), although one could say we already did that. I respect McCain, but 100 more years in Iraq doesn't seem the right way to go.

Besides our military, there has been no U.S. program that has done more to advance humanity than the space program. To hear that charlatan Obama say, "Houston, I think we've achieved liftoff here." is an insult to all responsible people who realize the great importance of our extremely valuable, indispensible, underfunded space program.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lionel-beehner/why-foreign-policy-favors_b_87568.html

McCain, like Clinton, backed Bush's Iraq fiasco from the very beginning and he doesn't have the brains to see that the only "mission" that was accomplished was the destruction of Iraq and its people. The war has created 4 million Iraqi refugees, killed more than 500,000 people (more than Saddam Hussein ever did). And there is a vast lake of raw sewage in the heart of Baghdad that can be seen from vantage points of earth-orbiting satellites. That lake of sewage is the monument to the "success of Bush and McCain's surge strategy.

Comment: The fact that Senator Obama has managed his campaign so remarkably well thus far should aleviate peoples fears that he is too green to manage. If this management is even a small indication of how well he can do things, then I believe I made the right decision to vote for him. He is a well educated, charasmatic man who is able to communicate with all different factions. He has the ability to unite and the votes are showing that to be true. These are some of the traits a President should possess. Hillary Clinton is also a well educated person but she does not possess the type of character to lead this great country. Education alone won't do it - you have to be able to manage. Hillary has proven she cannot do that. It is time for Hillary to swallow her pride and bow out. Her negative attacks on Obama only show that she is desparate and incapable of showing any real leadership. A real leader would press Obama for details and not nit-pick on his borrowing a few lines from his buddy, Devan Patrick.

Hillary has tried everything to win this election - lies, cheating, distortion, intimidation, harassment, racism, tricks, etc, but "you can't deceive all the people all the time".

Hispanic voters should follow the rest of Americans and take their rightful place in history by overwhelmingly voting for Obama. The Clintons are not interested in you. They are interested in raw power, destructive power, power for power's sake.

You see, they assume that Americans are stupid, ignorant idiots who can easily fall for smear and who do not have the intellect to look past someones color or middle name.

That however, is not the America of today, and I am very convinced that the "Watch out America-Obama is a Muslim" crowd do more to convince intelligent Americans to support Obama. Whether you accept this or not, that doesn't make it an untruth. If only 10% of the practicing muslim population support the destruction of Western society, that means around 10 Million people wanr you to die.

Sounds a little like the snake oil salesman of early frontier days. Hillary will have the Joint Chiefs working on bringing our troops home even before the "first day", while Obama would still be trying to figure out the phone system. In poll after poll, economy has been the biggest issue. Obama admitted he knew little about economics.

Comment: The media fawning for Obama is really whats kept him in the race, the main reason he is surging ahead? Constant negative portrayal of Hillary since the beginning of the nomination process has chipped at her support from the get go. Not that she hasn't done some stupid things...but the media has pounced more on her flaps and faults than Obama's. Do you think that will continue if Obama is nominated?
Of course not. The media will turn on him.
I think those words will come back to haunt him when he said that Hillary's supporter wil back him, but his supporters won't back Hillary. I think thats what really put me off...for all his message of Hope and Change it all comes down to, if I don't win Im taking my ball (voters) and going home. Sounds like same old politics to me?
Backing out of public financing? Just because he is getting a lot of money now doesn't mean he will have the money advantage come election time. Oh and who is giving Obama his money? How many working class voters will be willing to keep giving Obama money even as gas prices, home crisis and recession are around the corner? Not me thats for sure. Seems like he said he'd take public money back when he wasn't sure that he would be able to raise that kind of money in the first place... now look I'm getting more money than Tammy Fae Baker ever did... hell I don't want to give it back!!! Again more of the same, not change
Iraq... oh man that is a time bomb. The constant misqouting of McCain will bite Obama in the ass come debate time. McCain's comment was to the effect that.. IF Iraq were to calm down and IF US casualties were drop to zero.. McCain COULD see teh US in Iraq for the next 100 years... kinda sounds like what we have been doing in Japan and Korea to me.. I don't see Obama calling for the US to pull our troops from Japan and Korea. What happens if Obama is elected and he pulls the troops from Iraq and guess what... teh US is attacked, bombed or OMG... Iraq turns into the Next Darfur.... Hey speaking of Darfur... what does Obama plan to do there? Money?... that won't do a damn thing and everyone knows it... the only thing that will help Darfur is troops... you think Obama will do that? So guess what.. the people of Darfur will continue to be victims of ethinic cleansing aka genocide aka the same damn thing Hilter tried to do and Stalin did do... Doesn't sound like change to me.... sounds like more of the same.... hence Empty promises of change.

America is tired of partisan politics of yesterday by self-centered politicians like Hillary and Mcain. None of these two yesterdays politicians can make change happen the way Obama is attracting a whole new generation of American voters. His inspirational message filled with his charisma, authenticity will make real changes happen in America and the world. His diplomacy and goodwill bring respectability back to America, which is lost under Bush administration. As a non-American, living outside the USA, I can guarantee you that the rest of the world will admire a president who is charasmatic, authentic and genuine in believing in making the better place for everybody, just like JFK did in the sixties. America, you are blessed to have a genuine leader like Barak Obama who can heal a divided nation and a divided world. As a Canadian, I wish him all the best.

Comment: I had to laugh at this one. Telling Canadians to shut up? Is that the best you have for dialogue? Are you 12?

Comment: Of course not. That would make me a Hussein supporter.

              NOBAMA!

Comment: We don't need more policies, so Hilary Clinton, and we don't need more Cold War rhetoric, so McCain. While I'm 50 and I value experience, I've also seen that experience can act as an anchor during times of intense change, so that experience leads to poor, outmoded decisions. What we need is a genuine leader who actually values integrity and consensus. Can Obama deliver if he gets his chance? I don't know. But I do know that more of the same will hurt this country, which needs to move forward. Clinton and McCain certainly will deliver only more of the same.

Comment: Certainly looks like its coming down to the gist of this article. McCain vsObama '08. The BarakStar is without question hotter than a two-dollar pistol. He exudes confidence, and deservedly so.

    Back of the shirt-John McCain Commander-In-Chief '08

Ya'll think they will sell @ $75 each?

    Pre-orders only$55-order now cause supplies won't last.

Comment: Why don't you change your moniker to 'SKINHEAD' which is how you sound and probably are. People like you are a declining population is this great country as the votes now clearly show. Go ahead and make your T-shirts but may I make a suggestion? Learn how to spell - the word PEACE is not spelled 'pease' . Also, you had better change to price to $9.95 because anyone with an education would not pay $75 or $55!!!

Comment: Hey Smokie Girl-CHANGE your attitude. CHANGE your socks. CHANGE your habits. CHANGE your hair color. CHANGE your man. CHANE direction. CHANGE the channel. CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE

Do you like me better now? I sound like the BarakStar himself.

        NOBAMA!

        NO TO MOHAMMED!

Comment: Did I strike a nerve? Why would I like or dislike you? And, don't compare yourself to Barack. He is a star, an educated, political star who is going to be the next President of the USA. GOBAMA! GOBAMA! GOBAMA! GOBAMA!

          • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 02/20/2008 9:56:58 PM

Comment: Obama will soon hit a major obstacle. John McCain and the GOP. No sissy politically correct love fests here. But, he doesn't have the nomination yet. Hillary may pull out Ohio, Penn. And Texas. If she does then the BarakStar will loose at the convention.

I'm sure you'll burn it to the ground if that happens. I can't wait. Now that's entertainment.

Comment: If the 'Commander in Chief' line is the best Hillary Clinton can offer, it is too bad, because John McCain will crush either Clinton or Obama on national security issues in a general election. The countering strength is to ask Americans to be courageous rather than afraid, and that is the essence of Obama's message. Clinton will not outcompete the Republicans in fear mongering.
