This is the first time I am following an election and political blogs. I have to say, a lot of you sound very uneducated, prejudiced, sexist and racist. But you people helped me realize I am one of you, because everytime a post seems to be coming from an "ignorant, fanatical" person, I read it with a southern accent in my mind. hahaha ROFLMAO By the way, McCain or Obama. Enough Clintons

  • Posted By: riedelrb @ 02/20/2008 1:24:58 PM

Obama is the Democratic George Bush. With his lack of experience, he will screw just like George Bush has done for eight years!!

    • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 02/20/2008 1:39:05 PM

Hillary, too, is INEXPERIENCED. Looks like McCain will certainly be elected IF you're looking for EXPERIENCE.

Change? Yes, Obama WILL bring change. But it won't be the kind of "change" we're looking for. Has anyone ever stopped to consider 1)how it would sound to have a President in our Oval office with a Muslim name, at a time when terrorists are a real threat to our country? 2)how Obama seemed to "come out of no where"? Who do you think is backing him? Have you given that any thought? and 3)if radical Islamic terrorists would happen to try to take over this country, do you feel confident about who he would side with, considering his Islamic roots? Could that possibly be why he would not pledge allegience to our U.S. flag or wear a flag lapel pin? Think about it people. Are you all dumb sheep who can be led around by anybody who makes pretty speeches? Change??? You bet! Like you've never seen before! And no, I'm not a Republican - I'm an Independent, and I don't have blinders on.

I totally disagree with you. Barack is in no way a terrorist. You need to broaden your horizons and open your mind.Hillary would just be another Bush in democrat clothing. It will be her way or the highway, as we have today. I don't think Bill's behavior of late sits well for him being in the White House. He does not know how to be in a supportive role, he wants to be the leader. I am also an independent and look at Barack as a breath of fresh air, Hey, no one can be as bad as what we have had for the past 8 years!!! 1/20/09, Bush's last day............

      • Posted By: ddenai @ 02/20/2008 1:37:57 PM

I agree with you. Barack will be a breath of fresh air. Look at the entire world around us. We need change right now. I believe Barack can assist in the changes this world needs. If Hillary is voted in, Bill will be president.

      • Posted By: ddenai @ 02/20/2008 1:31:36 PM

I agree with you.. Barack is a breath of fresh air. I believe he will make a difference in our country. Barack should be our next President. This world needs hope. Look at everything going on around us everyday. A real change has got to come right now. If Hillary is voted in ,Bill will really be the president.

That is absolutely the most ridiculous argument I've heard thus far. I am a native New Yorker and lost my best friend on 9/11 and I have never come close to this kind of idiotic, paranoid ideology. You say you are not a republican but maybe you should reconsider. They will need a new fear monger when Rove leaves. You could fill that position quite nicely!

I'VE NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE - READ, OR SEEN SO MUCH GARBAGE AS IS BEINGESPOUCED HERE! tHIS COMMENT RUNS AT THE FABRIC OF THE SICNESS OF MIND AND MENTALITY THAT RUNS IN THIS COUNTRY WITH SOME PEOPLE. ( wELL WE KNOW WHERE YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE COME FROM...YOU'RE MOM / SISTER...WHO IS NOW YOUR GIRLFRIED / WIFE... What good did it do for the other Clinton (Wild BIll) to swear on BIble? He lied to us then and now the Dippy Duo is at it again. And Hilliary, if Obama is stealing another man's words what do you have your eyes on? I guess the old slogan "Willie Wants Your Wallet (And Chick)" should be ammended to read "Hilliary Heals (Everyone but Wild Bill)". We cannot survive another Clinton in the White House, even with a visitors pass.

can't believe people are falling for Obama's words. Words that arent' even his!! He has no REAL experience in dealing with Foriegn policy at all. This is fact and they need to bring this up more. The internet is full of information but that doesn't mean it is correct. He is a freshman senator that believes in "old" politics, not "change". Tell me something I can get behind Obama. Not just the word "change". I haven't heard anthing I like yet.

It really amazes me to no end. Sen. Obama has done a very good job at giving eloquent but empty speeches. He has almost completely avoided taking a stance on anything but hope for change. Hope for change is not a stance. Anyway, it works, I'll be!

    Dianness,

Blacks do not owe the Clintons anything. It is condescending and beyond insulting for you to even suggest such a thing. I doubt that you would ever deign to say or think that any white American owed a president or presidential candidate something just because he or she was white and had 'done so much for white americans'. Or then, maybe you would. It would be useful, not to mention accurate, if you realized that civil rights are not the sole purview of blacks. Civil rights are what are guaranteed all Americans by the constitution of the United States. The only reason that you could even be making the mistake of associating civil rights with blacks only is because it was blacks who had to fight for and win those rights because they were long-denied by laws, customs and mindsets like the one that you apparently hold.

If, and some may say when, America becomes a has-been country, it will most likely be because the people did not have the spiritual will and emotional maturity to transcend their own smallness. Great countries require greatness of its people. It seems to me that with this election, a huge number of Americans are trying to claim that greatness. Thank God!

As for whatever accomplishments Obama has or does not have, frankly I don't care. He has the intangibles that can help to bring people together around a common cause. Millions of people apparently feel that way. You obviously do not. You will get your chance in November to vote accordingly. Many of us are willing to and are able to think outside the box. We dream of things that might be, that can be. There is no list of legislative achievements that can speak to a dream. It is precisely because you (and others) don't or can't see this that you think that legislative 'accomplishments' and 'experience' matter beyond strength of character and the capacity to speak to, if I may quote Abe Lincoln, "the better angels of our nature". Obama has and can do that. And thank God for that too.

So can Hollywood, HBO, and TMZ, etc! Shows your maturity level - Grow up! The Presidential Candidate is not a daydreamer's job! We have enough preachers, pastors, motivational speakers - thanks! USA is not looking for a Joe Cool - the beagle won't that contest!

Since we are all forced to have 60's and 70's Flashbacks this Election year, please consider watching an episode of the TWILIGHT ZONE called TO SERVE MAN. This was aired on March 2, 1962 but still quite relevant

  • Posted By: dsc1964 @ 02/20/2008 1:34:09 PM

rubishaw, you must be kidding. Hillary has done nothing as Senator and was never elected to anything prior to being a NY carpetbagger. She's a joke when she claims to have more experience than Obama. If there ever was a year to vote none of the above, it is 2008.

  • Posted By: b121175 @ 02/20/2008 1:34:00 PM

I hope that when Hillary Clinton loses to Obama, she finally take time to stop at the court house and files for divorce from Bill. Every women who's husband cheated, would have already been divorced. Not good old Hillary, she had every political intention in her mind. Will she be ready from day one?

  • Posted By: prsolinger @ 02/20/2008 11:10:00 AM

Obama can and will defeat McCain. Americans are sick of the backstabbing, dirty politics that have plagued the Bush/Clinton years, and Obama will take us away from that. Obama has idependents and Republicans that will vote for him, along with a large majority of Democrats. Hillary will get almost no independents and Republicans to vote for her. To put it bluntly, they hate her. For every Clinton fan, ie. Sore Loser, that refuses to vote for Obama, there are two Obama supporters that won't vote for Clinton. I guaratee it.

    • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 02/20/2008 1:33:56 PM

Obama has already proven that he can pull people together. The country is in dire need of someone who can pull Congress together and END the philosophy of US against THEM (Democrats vs. Republicans). Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are ringleaders of the US vs THEM.

Ok Now, Looks like it is too late for Hill. But I am sure there are months to go for November. It is not about race. But the Media Fifth column cannot cover Obama baby messiah for ever from scrutiny. There should be an Achiles Heel inspite of the hype.

I really used to admire bill & hillary clinton ,but in recent months I have come to see what they really stand for. All the problems they went through in the white house and peolple still cheered them on . The thanks we get is one negative after another negative . Are they telling not to dream the American dream any more . Not to hope for a better future for our children . Well Im sorry I still dream & hope ; so I must switch to a canidate that can do the same . Maybe Mr. Obama will finally lift this country to it's feet ; so we can truly be proud to say we are American and belive it in one unified voice . Over comming partisian politics, racisim and all our other mdeger diffences . I also encourage hillary ,or what ever speech writer wrote that speech for her ; that if words dont mean anything to stop talking . I also reccomend that she bow out gracefully now saving what ever amount of dignity that she has left . Allowing not just the party , but the country to rally behind some one who can lead not with just his head but with his heart .

IS JOHN EDWARDS LIKELY TO ENDORSE OBAMA NOW?

    Hey NOT4BARACK,
Hillaries been there, done that, and can handle anything they dish out? Looks live you've crowned Hillary your Queen. The only substance the Clintons have is on a Monica's blue dress. Thats our memories of the good ole Clinton years. You're right, Bill does give people a hard time!

Did you enjoy the country being in the black instead of the red as it is now? He also brought that to us. Now we have a chance of seeing a national health insurance policy come to fruition. You're probably one of those who will be crying in their old age and wondering where all the money you saved went while you were suffering from a health issue that used up all your insurance and personal cash.

Since Ronald Reagan, I watched as the working middle class(those making under $300,000 a year), earn less and less while the wealth shifted to the Rich. Our country is deteriorating internally, the courts have been taken over by the Rich, Congress has been taken over by the Rich, and the US President is not for anyone except those earning more than $300,000. America was not built by the Rich. They became rich because we, the American people allowed it. If you want four more years of the Rich getting richer at the expense of our kids and grandkids, vote Republican. However, if you want to take a chance and get America shifted back to the people, Vote Democrat. At least it will be a Change from where we have been going since the Republicans have taken us.
