There is no way this Democrat will be voting for Obama in November should he win the nomination. I probably will be sitting out. I think that YouTube video of "Name one accomplishment by Obama" is very troubling. How can anyone pick a president this way? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzFOOcEQtP0

Unfortunately Hillary's experiences have locked her into believing that change comes from the leader (in this case her) fighting hard with the enemy (Republicans) and using long-learned political tactics to win. However, Obama understands that fundamental progress requires a leader's vision along with the enthusiastic support of a working majority. Will the politicians (Democrats and Republicans) who are owned by special interest groups just turn over and accept the change? Of course not. But if we the "Change Majority" make it clear that their JOBS are at risk, they will have no choice but to go along. Obama gets that and is focused on creating that "Change Majority", while Hillary is still trying to convince us that it's HER individual fighting skills that matter. Hillary, if you really care about progress, get over yourself and do the right thing for our country. Time to concede and save face.

    Northern Neighbor
Seems that a candidate for Commander In Chief of U.S. Armed Forces, who had so badly assessed the capabalities of the "enemy" represented by Sen. Obama as Sen. Clinton did, would hardly be a good candidate for the job!!!

Hill's loyalists have apparently activated their last reserves using the
Clinton connection's big money in a desperate move to salvage her derailing coronation. I wonder if they included pardoned criminals among these financial backers to this 527 ? Whoever was behind this 527, it is quite obvious that they are either closet racists or just blind loyalists who just can't accept Barack winning over their Queen. Let them raise their funds and Barack's shock troops will overwhelmed them with more funds to counter whatever negative ads they put and more than they could imagine. Then there is the backlash that would hound these financial backers to oblivion. They just don't know that Barack have awaken an irresistible movement that is so feed up with these big lobbyists and
politics as usual. Whoever suggested this, is probably the most desperate
*** with no brains. Let us see their effectiveness and waste their money on
a product that have been resoundingly rejected repeatedly. I hope that whenever this materialized, Edwards will then come out and openly endorse Barack and denounced this underhanded tactics.

Okay. Clinton just said that her campaign was not resposible for this attack. She has blamed the media. Yet there was a confrence call held by members of her staff. There is a link on her website. Where is the credibility. Also when wil the media create headlines in regards to the current charges Clinton is facing in regards to election fraud? The case begins 2/21/08.

The only real problem with Obama's campaign right now is that he fails to put smart / well-informed people on TV who can highlight his REAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND EXPERIENCE! He has plenty, but unlike Hillary Clinton and her slick army of PR Pros, Barack Obama seems has to find great speakers to make his case for him!

    HILLARY VS. OBAMA LEGISLATIVE RECORDS:
During Obama's first (8) eight years of elected service (in Illinois) he sponsored over 820 bills - 233 regarding healthcare reform, 125 on poverty and public assistance, 112 crime fighting bills, 97 economic bills, 60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills, 21 ethics reform bills, 15 gun control, 6 veterans affairs and many others. IN ADDITION, DURING HIS FIRST YEAR IN THE U.S. SENATE, HE AUTHORED 152 BILLS AND CO-SPONSORED ANOTHER 427. THESE INCLUDED:

*The Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law)
*The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law)
*The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate
*The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law)
*The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee)

IIn all, since he entered the US Senate, Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1,096. AN IMPRESSIVE RECORD, FOR SOMEONE WHO SUPPOSEDLY "HAS NO RECORD"

HILLARY CLINTON, WHO HAS SERVED FOR 6 YEARS IN THE U.S. SENATE, AND CLAIMS TO KNOW HOW TO "GET THINGS DONE" HAS MANAGED TO AUTHOR AND PASS NTO LAW ONLY TWENTY (20) PIECES OF LEGISLATION, ONLY FIVE (5) OF WHICH HAVE ANY REAL SUBSTANCE:
    1. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
    2. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
    3. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
    4. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
    5. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

AAMW77, according to your numbers, Obama helped pass into law 3 pieces of legislation (the others are in committee, or didn't get passed), while Hillary helped pass into law 20 pieces of legislation. Where are his "Real Accomplishments" ?

I concur. It seems to me that HRC's minions are so afraid of learning the real truth about their candidate that they'd rather spew off, with their eyes closed, venomous lies about BHO, and not accept the fact that Sen. Obama is so much more "experienced" than Sen. Clinton. Thanks AAMW77 for taking the time to lay out the truth about the two candidates.

mmarianne, If what you say is true, that our government "will not allow" us as voters to elect the next President, I think the American people have much more to fear than Barack Obama.

I love that Senator Obama is not just focused on the short-term, but recognizes that the entrenched powers will try very hard to muck up any changes he initiates. There are a lot of people who are threatened by him, including some of the folks posting here.

As Senator Obama says, having a long resume of Washington experience didn't do much for Rumsfeld, Cheney, et al, so why not give someone else a try?? Go Obama!

Hilary Clinton continues to stoop to new lows in order to garner votes- crocodile tears, daily meaningless attacks at her opponent- what next? No suprise though- the woman has shown no moral or ethical values for years- will do or say anything to grasp at what she wants. Heaven help this country if she is elected President!

Those who think Obama will have a hard time beating McCain must have blinders on. The vast majority of Americans think the Iraq war was a mistake and that we need to get out ASAP. McCain is proud of the Iraq war and says we may need to stay there 100 years or more. Also, McCain's other rhetorical pillars is to make permanent the Bush tax cuts. Bush's war. Bush's tax cuts. Sub 30% Bush approval ratings. Dead meat.

Wrong - he will have a huge time because all the antie Obamas such as myself will be switching to the otherside - so there, you have it

hillary clinton = lie, cheat, steal; do whatever needs to be done to win. put forth a false image.

    obama = change and hope.

No need to be negative and call names, how similar to hilary you act. Keep the name calling to yourself

Hillary is going to be one of the first casualties of the voter backlash against "going negative." we the people are ( ) fed the ( ) up with all this Swift-boating backstabbing nastiness, and I guess we Democrats are taking a stand that This Stops Here, NOW.

People are tired of politics as usual, including the personal attacks and attack ads used to perfection by the conservatives in the last election and being repeated by Clinton now. While they will still appeal to the so-called "base", they will put off moderates and independents. Clinton and McCain can attack all they want, but the more they do, the more it will likely work against them unless there is something substantial to criticize..

  • Posted By: donaka1109 @ 02/20/2008 10:14:28 AM

The Clinton's just don't get it! It is their very method of "attack" politics that not only drives a wedge between them and opponentsm but also allienates voters who are tired of "do-nothing" partisan politics!

I pity senator Clinton, she had a chance to be the democratic front runner but unfortunately a better some one came up and turned the tables on her.It is not for lack of trying that she is where she is ,it is only because somebody who has transcended creed ,color ,religion etc has burst on the scene.I strongly believe that Senator Obama not only has what it takes to change the view of foreign countries about the USA but is cacapable of

According to the Clinton campaign it's a terrible thing that Obama is using the words of his friend and campaign co-chair. Bill Clinton repeatedly used the words of Martin Luther King. King did not say I think that's grest as Patrick has. Why such a big issue? apparently they can't find anyting of substance to talk about. How about an actual platform issue.

  • Posted By: Indiana1965 @ 02/20/2008 9:36:21 AM

I think it is quite ironic and some what comical that the Clinton Team would attack Mr. Obama for something such as plagiarizing considering Hillary's questionable ethics. Let's not forget Whitewater and Castle Grande, which are just two examples in her portfolio. That is the type of future she offers, she owes many favors to many people and those will be repaid at the expense of each one of us. As a voting citizen,we as a country deserve a leader for the people.
