People of color have been waiting for this opportunity all thier lives. They did not want to vote until now. I wonder how many of them voted for JFK? They seem to liken Obama to JFK. I still don't feel he is ready but if this trend continues well, you may not like him but he will command respect. Just like good old GW. I am a Hillary supporter. Maybe if her name was Harry and male, she may have had a chance. My concerns is even Edwards said that Obama's healthcare is a weak solution. Our citizens are in trouble. How many of you young people are ready to take care of your parents? I see a reverse trend of elderly being disadvantage. How about the housing foreclosures? We will need to wait a little bit longer for that to turn around. As for foreign relations, well I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if the other countries refuse to do business with America. Immigration, who knows. We know where the republicans are coming from, yet, people are willing to put all thier hopes that change will come. Unfortunately we need solutions for change to happen. He truly has no clue how to solve the issues we are facing.

People of color have been voting before now, even back when they KNEW their votes didn't count.

Obama doesn't need to have a clue - he has the skill and courage to bring together the best solutions that are already out there. WE AREN'T SHORT OF SOLUTIONS, we are short of politician that are beholden to US, the voters, and not to the lobbyists and moneyed interests!

You're impressionable. Live another 30 years and you'll be able to see why the older generation feel the way they do. Are you ready to take care of your parents or grandparents? Better yet, will you be able to raise your grandchildren. That is a reality in the world today.

He may in your opinion have what it takes but he will be busy. I hope all this hype of hope and change will be a reality. Because if it turns out to be another politician in office, America is screwed, royally...

People People People---can yall NOT see what is going on? Why do yall think Obama is winning? He is getting all of the anti Hillary votes. The Mass Media and Republicans wants Hillary to lose. One person who appeared on Fox News, Dick Morris, told Republicans to do their duty during the Texas elections. What do you think their duty is------to vote Obama and take out Clinton. Once he is the nominee, the Republicans will chew right into into him. His wins are superficial. Obama's impressive winning streak is as fake as some of this hair in my head.

I think he knows it. Did yall watch his victory speech in Texas last night? He wasn't cocky as usual. He wasn't even all that upbeat. He looked frazzled and worried. On the other hand, Clinton looked happy and upbeat in the midst of her 10th loss. My instinct tells me that she has something up her sleeve. Clinton will not accept defeat, atleast not from Barack Obama.

I am a Clinton supporter but she would push me to John McCain if she does something very openly underhanded to get the nomination. The anti Clintons and republicans are making it virtually impossible for her to justify winning the nomination especially with Obama having massive wins and way more votes than her.

I say the only way she can stay in the game and keep Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson from getting massive publicity and holding protest marches and crying racism and to help her image (being that most of the anti Clintons thinks the worse of her) is to simply step back from the Democratic Party, congratulate Obama and go independent . John McCain is ready to dig into Obama, his speech shows that. It is not much he can say about Clinton that the world don't already know. That is an absolute plus for her! With the Republicans beating up Obama, she won't have to get all of the negative press when she throw stones at him as well. Once they finish beating him up, with them tagteaming him, it should take about 2 months at the most, they can then focus on each other. Hillary's chances will be much better and the anti Clinton move would have fizzled down by then---first off, the Anti Clinton votes will go to McCain. And once EVERYONE (media, clinton, republicans) destroy Obama, he will lose MOST of his support and true Democrats will support Clinton over McCain.

Clinton is still VERY MUCH in this political game but she has to do it right!

I am an Obama supporter but in a way, I think you're right: Clinton should just step back and let Obama feel the full force of the Republican attack machine. She should stay in the race but she should refrain from going negative against Obama because that will only further alienate her and further split the Democratic party. The Republicans will attack Obama, if he can't handle it, he will falter, and then at the convention, she will have the full support of the entire party on being made the nominee. That will be the true test for Obama now. If he CAN handle it, then the she just has to let the voters decision stand and step aside gracefully. I must say to the Republicans though that going too negative could backfire. The reason that Obama is beating Clinton so handily is because people are voting AGAINST partisan politics. I think the fatal flaw that may end up sinking the Republicans is that they believe that a larger part of the country are hard core ideologues than there really is, and they believe what they believe with such religious fervor that they can't see that most people simply care more about people in Washington to get things done that effects their lives. They fearmongering and social wedge issues may not be as effective this time.

I feel what you are saying but I don't quite agree. I think a lot of black voters are voting for him simply because he is black. I think think some of the white votes geniunely believe in him but the mass other votes are simply to take Clinton out.

I doubt the Republican attacks will backfire especially if the attacks are proven to be true. Let's leave the Muslim issue alone. Let's talk about his church. Obama belongs to a church that is Pro Black and focuses on black empowerment. It is a segregationist church. His pastor has made several comments that sounds radical and racist. Once the Media and Republicans make this fact nationally and internationally known, Obama is going to lose ALL of his non black support if not some of his black support. How can he justify belonging to a segregationist church for 20 years? This one MAJOR thing alone is going to help crush his campaign. White people are going to call it reverse racism and they are going to make a big deal over it as I think they should. This is the one major issue that is going to start the domino effect of the Fall of Obama. And this isn't mudslinging. This is true and easily verifiable.

I am African-American, and HIGHLY offended by your ignorance regarding "OUR" voting rationale. You obviously haven't progressed beyond "All black people think alike ." Please catch up with the rest of humanity. Any African-American who votes for Obama is voting, because they think that he is the best candidate. Any African-American who votes for Clinton thinks she is the best candidate. I know African-Americans who support both, funny that. I was deadlocked between Obama and Edwards then Edwards dropped out. It is ironic to me how one-sided racism can be. Do you ever say that white people vote for Clinton or McCain because they're white? If you go to an all white church, which most of White America does, do you label it "segragationist". Please. You call it church. The man lives on the south side of Chicago, why don't you go visit a church in that area, and tell me what you see. He should go to church in the community that he represents so he is connected to his constituency. However, this man has the most diverse campaign that I have witnessed since Kennedy's campaign--even more so as this country is more diverse now as is his campaign. Do you notice that at McCain's conferences? I think not. That's what's to be noted. He organized an awesome, diverse group of brilliant, hardworking, strategizing, dynamic people and that is what bothers you and others with your mentality. Funny that, he's actually executing a plan that's working. He has the current administration by leaps and bounds just by doing that. Please educate yourself. Don't put supposed minister's words in HIS mouth and don't start any of the fear tactics regarding his religion which last I checked was Christian. Step up out of ignorance which is rooted in fear. You may like the top 3% owning 97% of the wealth, subprime rates, astronomical oil prices and the destruction of our environment. The rest of us with 20/20 vision (including glasses and contacts) can see the writing and vote for whoever has the Guts to bring change that benefits most of us not a few of us. Cheers to Obama and anyone else who stands up for Real change!!

I live in Chicago...and as a white person...I have visited the same very curch that Obama attends...I felt nothing but warth and welcome in this enviornment. In fact I =wsn't the only "White" person in attendance...so where is the seperationist status of this congregation.....People are spreading faer-based tactics that are just so wrong - so very wrong...It make one ashamed to be an American, it almost makes one ashamed to be recognized as white. What is wrong with this country. Too much bad history, to many lies and deciets. I was for Edwards...he dropped out, and my vote, and my endorsement is for the most qualified person running Go Obama! All the way to change - all the way to the white house...It will be a much better and safer country because of it...

My suspicions tell me that you haven't attended the church and that you are not white. You wouldn't happen to have another screen name like--hmm, let me see---Let it be told! now would you?

Also, no one is saying that the church teaches hate and that the congregation isn't warm and welcoming. I am sure this is a VERY true statement. That is not the issue at all. The issue has been stated.

              • Posted By: Let-it-be- told! @ 02/20/2008 5:14:01 PM

Frjiles1, Please let it be known: I am Woman. One who can speak her mind and doesn't have to switch screen names to make a point. I've never visited his church, and obviously you haven't either as you can not discount Motiondo's comment. Can you contemplate the possibility that different people can agree on something despite region and race. Marinate on that. Thank you for your posting Motiondo. I learned something. If only others wouldn't have to yet again relate to "fear tactics". Obviously Frjiles1 is so scared of our being in agreement that he/she must make false accusations. C'est dommage, we are obviously too progressive for this person. Go Obama and maybe we can get Edwards in as VP or Attorney General! Frjiles1 your issue has indeed been stated and it has nothing to do with facts about Obama. Happy Hating Day to you! I can see you basking in it! Fear won't work. Time for a switch.

                  LET IT BE TOLD

Your comment has nothing to do with what I was talking about. And again, I don't know why you posted them under my post and I don't care that you a woman, I don't recall asking.. You and I are on 2 different pages and it is impossible to rationally debate an issue when we aren't on the same page. I post a comment, you feel the need to respond yet your response talks on and on about things that has nothing to do with my post. It makes no sense to me. Perhaps you should just post under the "post your comment" section. I don't know why you feel the need to keep posting irrelevant issues under my post.

By the way, I am NOT an Obama Hater. I think he is very accomplished I will NEVER deny that. But at the same time, it is very obvious to me that the media and Anti Clinton people/Republicans are the backbone of his success. It doesn't take a genius to see that they are giving Obama a free ride and pumping him up to take out Clinton. I also FIRMLY believe that once he captures the nomination, they are going to beat him up worse than they did Clinton.

            LET IT BE TOLD---
First off, let me state that I respect your position. However, you totally missed my point . Did I say that an all black church equates to separationist. With all due respect, you said alot yet what you said very little to do with the point I was making, It would have been better if you would have posted it in the general "post a comment " section and not respond under mine.

It doesn't matter if you go to a "majority or all black church or vice versa. That is irrelevant.. However, the message that is being taught WITHIN the church is VERY relevant and is going to matter particularly to his non black supporters after the Republicans and Media finish having a field day with it.

The bottom line is that the church Obama goes to is a church that focuses on black empowerment, look at the church's website and mission statement. That alone will says alot alone. And of course his campaign has been diversed, I couldn't agree with you more but you are perpetuating my very point. Once the Media and Republicans have a field day with the church issue, how long do you think he will KEEP his diverse supporters?

Again, I am not going to down the man anymore because I really see what is coming. I can tell you are a strong supporter and I respect that. I am sure he appreciates having such strong support but there is no need for us to go back and forth.

This has nothing to do with fear or anything. All of this was calculated and planned by the media and Republicans. They chose to give Barack a free ride for a reason. Barack's popularity did not soar until the media put him on a pedestal. Ask yourself WHY have they given him a free ride?

All I can say is just watch the news and election coverage ESPECIALLY when he gets the nomination-------and you will see that there is a lot of validity to what I am saying. and let's leave it at that! Have a good day!

        • Posted By: THE RAVEN @ 02/20/2008 12:15:34 PM

frjilesi--your stupidity is laughable. I get so sick of hearing people say blacks will vote for Obama because he is black. Whites aren't going to vote for him because he is black.
How old are you? Gone are the days when black people are going to explain their rationale to any white person--or black person.
We will vote for Obama for the same reasons anybody else votes for their candidate.
Reverse racism is a joke. White people can come up with the most ignorant excuses for not supporting any person of color. This country has been going down the toilet for decades--and all we have had are white, ignorant presidents who have us in wars we can't win (remember Vietnam?), hated around the world, and a white racist population who can't see past anyone who is not a pale face.

          • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 02/20/2008 1:36:54 PM

See here is another one!!!!!! A childish immature response. You ask how old am I, the question is how old are you????? Better yet, don't answer that- I don't care.

I take it that you are a black person .......well guess what so am I!! And EVERY SINGLE black person I know, particularly my family has voted for Obama for 2 reasons, #1, he is black and #2 he talks a good
game! And I did not say ALL black people voted for him because he is black, I said ALOT has and it is true!
Matter of fact, I was just having a conversation with an 88 year old black man and he said he voted for Obama because this may be his only chance to see a black man as President. My grandmother feels the same way. This is a pride thing for a lot of black people--NOT ALL but alot. The funny thing is everyone I talked to WHO IS BLACK agree hands down that Hillary is the better candidate but they feel it is necessary to support the brother. You may not want to admit that but the truth is alot of black people feel that way!

And I am SO SORRY you are that uninformed to say that reverse racism is a joke because it will well and alive. Black people can get away with saying alot. A white person is crucified if they say something that have a little indication of inappropriateness towards black people. I see it everyday particularly at work. A black person can say something racial and there is little reaction, let a white person say the same thing----------there is hell to pay. Yet you have the audacity to say that it is a joke?! I think the stupidity that is laughable is YOURS!

Why am I even responding to this? I am going to tell you the same thing I told someone else. I can have a debate with a rational responder all day long. I am not going to tolerate childish petty immature responses!

We can surely disagree without it resulting to insults!

    • Posted By: lirpa1972 @ 02/20/2008 10:53:45 AM

Delusional- however, with your ability to read Obama's body language, perhaps you can get a job as a fortune teller. You sound as desperate and deranged as your candidate. You both need to give it a rest. True democrats? true democrats will vote for the candidate who can represent the interest of most Americans.

      • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 02/20/2008 1:13:04 PM

look--there is no need for childish immature comments. I am assuming you are an adult so act like it. These little petty remarks are so unnecessary and it says a lot about you! We can disagree without going to insults or snide remarks!

If you disagree with me, that is your right and your choice! I will just say that I am not going to say anything to knock Obama down anymore....I will leave that to the opposition once he is the nominee!

By the way, please don't respond to any more of my post-------I can debate with a rational responder all day long. I can't tolerate petty, immature or childish remarks!

    • Posted By: wtharrisjr @ 02/20/2008 9:47:44 AM

Now that's funny! Do you actually think people would throw away their vote and take a chance on McCain? Don't get me wrong, I like McCain, I retired with 25yrs service and I respect him as a person, but his time has passed to be President. Do you see how much one ages as President? Look at Bush!

      • Posted By: lamm01 @ 02/20/2008 10:41:50 AM

That's where you're wrong. I'm not throwing my vote away for turning from Democratic to McCain in November. It's those of you who are falling for a big load of crap from Obama who's wasting their vote and this nation's opportunity for real change. Sorry........

      • Posted By: frjiles1 @ 02/20/2008 10:06:43 AM

You are so right, people President does make you look old. No argument there. There are several thousand Anti Clinton's and Republicans and they would rather see McCain in office than Clinton.
And poor Obama. The Media only used him and still are UNTIL HE GETS THE NOMINTATION! Why do you think Obama has been given a free ride this entire time. Clinton DID NOT underestimate Obama. She underestimated the Media's hate for her.
This is all a game and strategy. The game is to pump Obama up to take out Clinton and once he is the nominee, take him out as well. My hope is that Hillary will throw a HUGE wrench in that game plan. I gotta admit, it is brilliant and not to be disrespectful but the media see that most people are sheep. Most people don't look beyond the surface but I see it as clear as a bright sunny day. And if you aren't convinced, I say to you, to continue to watch the coverage and let's have this debate a couple of months from now.

    LET's LOOK AT THE FACTS.
OBAMA has shown he can organize millions of people into an organized and effetive political force.
He has made the correct judgements consistently throughout his campaign.
HIS TEAM IS A REFLECTION of HIM ORGANIZED HONEST AND HARD WORKING.
    CONSISTENT, GENUINE.

    LET"S LOOK AT HILLARy's campaign.
A lot of fighting and divisivness.
    A lot of firing's.
    A lot of bad JUDGEMENTS
CONFUSION AND pANIC as a result of bad judement and wrong decisions.
THE BLAME GAME. IT's your fault not its his fault, that's it you are FIRED.
LET GO RACIAL My destiny is more important.
It is a reflection of her style. BROAD AGENDA's, BIG plans, only to have them blocked because she was unable to unite factions in order to implement her agenda. COMBINE THAT WITH SCANDAL and you are left with no HOpE and a BUSH in the OVAL OFFICE.

BEING president IS ABOUT UNITING THE COUNTRy. THIS IS WHy not just anyone can become COMMANDER N CHIEF. BEING president involves making real time decisions very frequently. OBAMA HAS proven time and time again he has a "nack" for making a calm cool correct decisions in a real time enviornment. BE HONEST LOOK AT THE CONTRAST in CAMpaigns. THE FACTS ARE THERE.

THE MEDIA NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEy are a tool of indoctrination. ANy GOOD politician can manipulae the media in their favor. OBAMA AND BILL ARE VERy good politicians.

OBAMA is not a fortune teller he cannot have plans ready until he has his complete team together. ONE step at a time. TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL is a political trap because things change. OBAMA IS A pro and will not fall into that trap.

    • Posted By: Samatva @ 02/20/2008 11:24:47 PM

Well said eddiewhere. No politician can keep promise "XXX" - but Obama WILL keep the promise to open up the process and tell the lobbyists and moneyed interests that their influence is not nearly what they think (money won't buy legislation any more).

Elect a cowboy Oil Man with a (barely) MBA and what did we get?

Elect a war hero who wants to make certain we stay in Iraq until everyone else gets a chance to become a war hero, and what will we get?

Elect a power-crazed "loyal wife" that allowed her philandering husband bring disrepute on the White House so she would remain "viable" for the same office, and what will you get?

Elect a community-organizer, constitutional law professor who has lived multiculturalism all his life, and we will have a better chance of restoring some sanity and dignity to this great country of ours!!

What, you afraid that a woman will accomplish what a man has been trying to do all these years? Remember women have been cleaning up after men's mistakes all these years. Nothing new. Ask any wife, mother, grandmother. This may sound sexist but a fact none the less. I recall a saying that it takes a woman to get the job done right.

Hello, how old are you? Did you not remember JFK and Bobby involved with a blonde by the name of Marilyn Monroe? Obama if elected will have his hands full of promises he may not be able to keep. The one thing that doesn't cost money is having to bring a nation divided, together. Good luck. His administration will need to stop the economy from going into a recession, fix the foreclosure situation, devise a better national healthcare plan, repay all the special interest groups for thier support. Hey, theres a whole list of stuff he will need to do on his road to hope and change. I say we have to wait another four more years. All of you must be rich that you can wait.

HERE'S yOUR pROOF HALLOW. I AM VERy GLAD yOU ASKED THIS QUESTION.
THIS pROVES THAT OBAMA IS THE REAL DEAL SON.

Obama proved persuasive enough that the bill passed both houses of the legislature, the Senate by an incredible 35 to 0. Then he talked Blagojevich into signing the bill, making Illinois the first state to require such videotaping.

Obama didn't stop there. He played a major role in passing many other bills, including the state's first earned-income tax credit to help the working poor and the first ethics and campaign finance law in 25 years (a law a Post story said made Illinois "one of the best in the nation on campaign finance disclosure"). Obama's commitment to ethics continued in the U.S. Senate, where he co-authored the new lobbying reform law that, among its hard-to-sell provisions, requires lawmakers to disclose the names of lobbyists who "bundle" contributions for them.

Taken together, these accomplishments demonstrate that Obama has what Dillard, the Republican state senator, calls a "unique" ability "to deal with extremely complex issues, to reach across the aisle and to deal with diverse people." In other words, Obama's campaign claim that he can persuade us to rise above what divides us is not just rhetoric.

"We recommend that this administration work with Congress, public health officials, the pharmaceutical industry, foreign governments and international organizations to create a permanent framework for curtailing the spread of future infectious diseases.

There were death penalty abolitionists, some of whom worried that Obama's bill, by preventing the execution of innocents, would deprive them of their best argument. Vigorous opposition came from the police, too many of whom had become accustomed to using muscle to "solve" crimes. And the incoming governor, Rod Blagojevich, announced that he was against it.

THIS IS A pERFECT EXAMpLE OF WHAT OBAMA CAN DO AND HAS ALREADy DONE, BRING DIFFENT FACTIONS TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL.

BARAK LETS HIS RECORD TALK FOR HIM. HE COULD HAVE BRAGGED ABOUT ALL THIS. BUT HE HAS STA yed CONSISTENTLy HUMBLE.

The only real problem with Obama's campaign right now is that he fails to put smart / well-informed people on TV who can highlight his REAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND EXPERIENCE! He has plenty, but unlike Hillary Clinton and her slick army of PR Pros, Barack Obama seems has to find great speakers to make his case for him!

    HILLARY VS. OBAMA LEGISLATIVE RECORDS:
During Obama's first (8) eight years of elected service (in Illinois) he sponsored over 820 bills - 233 regarding healthcare reform, 125 on poverty and public assistance, 112 crime fighting bills, 97 economic bills, 60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills, 21 ethics reform bills, 15 gun control, 6 veterans affairs and many others. IN ADDITION, DURING HIS FIRST YEAR IN THE U.S. SENATE, HE AUTHORED 152 BILLS AND CO-SPONSORED ANOTHER 427. THESE INCLUDED:

*The Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law)
*The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law)
*The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate
*The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law)
*The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee)

IIn all, since he entered the US Senate, Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1,096. AN IMPRESSIVE RECORD, FOR SOMEONE WHO SUPPOSEDLY "HAS NO RECORD"

HILLARY CLINTON, WHO HAS SERVED FOR 6 YEARS IN THE U.S. SENATE, AND CLAIMS TO KNOW HOW TO "GET THINGS DONE" HAS MANAGED TO AUTHOR AND PASS NTO LAW ONLY TWENTY (20) PIECES OF LEGISLATION, ONLY FIVE (5) OF WHICH HAVE ANY REAL SUBSTANCE:
    1. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
    2. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
    3. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
    4. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
    5. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

The data provided is not accurate; when I request information via the US government website:

      http://www.thomas.gov

I obtain different (lower) numbers for Obama and higher numbers for Clinton than what is presented here [request and see!]. In the Senate it is not as "easy" to have a bills that you sponsor pass; the first administration had the Republican majority. If there were bills, they may have been "bagged" in committee, or "tagged" OUT. The State legislature is different, and we cannot see what these bills are (especially since IL has a different method, including the "present" voting rule!). This also seems probable as to why Obama's bills are receiving more consideration and are being sent through faster. A young, popular, 70% vote winning Illinois Senator will have more colleagues wanting to be a part of this 'phenomenon', especially if it will aid in getting their name on the bill, or receive the benefits of working with such a member (Kerry, Kennedy, for example).

By the topic failing to mention what Hillary has done prior to winning the Senate (including having the responsibility, per the request of President Carter, with going from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars), as to her close proximity to a President and Governor; if anyone believes that she didn't learn anything from being in such a position, that is a shame [she was not just baking cookies, visiting schools and giving tours]. She is a lawyer with a background that of working proBono on behalf of children's rights and poorer families, even initiating babysitting for migrant workers in her teens; this shows the compassion and initiative she has to work with others and get things done NOW. This is a side to her that has NEVER changed, and I fail to see others simply giving her a bit of credit for it.

Here is another link regarding the sweeping majority that's transpiring now:

      http:/ / www. thecityedition. com/ Pages/ Politics%20and%20Culture. html

By the way, the 'passions' are more on the Obama side; we have been achingly trying to provide information such as the topic above, with no connections to this website at all. Whoever put the page together is clearly being not entirely neutral. Still, it is good to check out the links (not the page).

I'll remain on topic because there are other concerns I have with Obama; he has questions coming from many areas not affiliated with this website. One I hope isn't true regardless, but nothing is coming from the media or the Obama campaign (and the individual is suing, if he lives long enough for it to come to trial).....

i think every one is loosing sight of the fact that this country was formed by people with little experiance but who held to an ethicle and bold leap into democracy and lived by thier ideals and hoped and planned the birth of our country with little time on the job and yet they managed to not only servive but create the country we call home no one begins as president with any thing but thier word and will to serve.

    Progressive Action Score: 69
A score of 69 means that Sen. Obama has acted to support 69% of a slate of progressive policies in the 110th Congress. Progressive, forward-looking actions Senator Obama has taken to merit a PAS of 69:

Senator Obama cast a vote against the ironically named Protect America Act. The Protect America Act is a law now passed by both houses of Congress which replaces judicial warrants with executive prerogative and substitutes blank checks for reasons. The Protect America Act gives the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence the power to spy on your emails, your web surfing, your telephone calls and other electronic communications. All this is carried out without a warrant, which is required by the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

There is no supervision of the spy programs put in place by the Attorney General and the DNI, except by these two indivivuals themselves. No one has the power to stop them any more. They can search your records, sift through your private messages, watch you go from web page to web page, on the pretext of protecting America from terrorists, all without a search warrant. No one has the power to tell them no.

the Attorney General and the DNI, both political appointees of the President, have the power under the Protect America Act to order any American to help them conduct their electronic spying against other Americans. Under the new law, if they order you to take part in their spying operations, and you say no, they can throw you in prison. If you do not keep their spying on other Americans a secret, even from your family, they can throw you in prison.

The Protect America Act institutes Big Brother government in the United States. It betrays American liberty. It is a shame that the Act passed, but thanks are due to Senator Obama for casting a vote against it.

    Right Wing Index Score: 0
A score of 0 means that Senator Obama has acted to support 0% of a slate of conservative, wrongheaded policies in the 110th Congress.

I truly don't believe in Obama's leadership abilites currently, however, at this rate he may be the next commander in chief. His first years in office will be the hardest because Obama will need to somehow focus on bringin this divided nation together. Then he will need to focus on the economy, Iraq war, foreign relations, universal healthcare, creating new jobs, repay all the promises he made to the special interest groups, and somehow continue to keep our nation safe from the real haters of the United States.

Oh yeah, and Barack, unlike Clinton and McCain, has not taken any money from the lobbyists! Haha; You can donate to his campaign at www.barackobama.com

    • Posted By: Jrmapu @ 02/21/2008 2:07:29 AM

I think I recall a report about Barack giving money to charity he received from that slumlord. He did not give all of it to charity. So guess what? Unless he gives the rest to charity, he's still beholding to the slumlord. If I'm not mistaken though, in these kinds of circles usually when you accept anything from certain people, no matter what you do with it, you are thier slave for ever. Isn't the slumlord supposedly being sentenced? Then what do you think he will want as repayment?

He is hopeing for a Presidential pardon of course!

All attacks against Clinton's is a weakness of Husein's mercenaries, paid by Oprah's billion of Dollars, dirty easy money from a crazy and degenerated press and media TV. I hope the people from Ohio, Texas and Penn will address the situation and will realize which is the pure truth . I am sure they will change the election trend, which now is driving America on the wrong and catastrophic way for this nation!! Because it is not about the race and gender intoxicated propaganda ?! It's just about the character and integrity ! I hope the Americans will bring down the hypocrisy and incompetence !!

    • Posted By: Samatva @ 02/20/2008 11:31:35 PM

Peter Paul is not working for Barack. He's just another guy, wooed by their "power", looking to get rich(er), and then stiffed by the Clintons. Do some research - this and many other skeletons in Clinton's closets need not come out, she's being beaten fair and square by a man who would NEVER stoop to the Clinton's level (i.e. just below the waist on most people). (WOW, that was easy and I only had to stoop just a tiny bit - maybe to armpit level...)

  • Posted By: TheBroker @ 02/20/2008 5:54:53 PM

GTX13. We see that you're one Clinton's non-english speaking Hispanic contingent. What makes you feel as though you know what's better for this country than people who've lived here their whole life? I'm not racist in any way shape or form and feel as though this is a very valid question that begs to be asked. Please, humor me.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 02/21/2008 1:39:37 AM

Actually that sounds pretty racist to me. If your a citizen then you get a vote plain and simple. Does it matter if you were made a citizen yesterday or your family was here since the revolutionary war? The only real americans are the Indians and guess what...the mexican immigrants that your belittleing probably have more indian blood than you or me.

Anybody will be able to beat McClain at this point, even Hillary...

      • Posted By: Samatva @ 02/20/2008 11:13:04 PM

The polls have been saying differently for over a year. Hillary consistently loses to any leading Republican, including McCain. Obama has consistently beaten the Republican candidate, hypothetical and McCain. independents don't like Hillary, they like Obama. In Wisconsin exit polls, self-described Independents went for Obama 2-to-1 - similar to other states.

        • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 02/21/2008 1:26:56 AM

Obama hasn't consistantly been beating McCain. Its only been in the last few week since super Tuesday. One thing this election should have told you is don't believe the polls. Obama isn't beating Clinton by enough delegate which means there are still a lot of Hillary supporters, ones that might not back Obama just as his supporters won't back Clinton. A number of Hillary's supporters could vote for McCain for a veriety of reasons.

        • Posted By: Jrmapu @ 02/21/2008 1:36:38 AM

With that scandal? Come on. Anyone can beat McCain at this point. He's vulnerable right now.

  • Posted By: Shayla_007 @ 02/21/2008 1:18:18 AM

It has been very interesting over the last few weeks to note that Senator Clinton can only find the rather useless ???attack??? on Senator Obama pertaining to his eloquent, and intricately mastered speeches. Rather than find another flaw in Senator Obama???s campaign, Senator Clinton seems to underline the intellect of Senator Obama???after all, does she want Senator Obama to sound like President Bush? On Tuesday night, Senator Obama laid down his views; it was not just words that sounded good, but rather action that he has promised to deliver. Yet, in I guess what some would call, ???Survival for the Fittest,??? Senator Clinton came back on Wednesday with the same ol??? same ol???. It???s getting really old, and maybe she should try going this route, after all, Senator Obama has racked up 10 straight victories in the primary caucuses.

Apparently they do. Mrs. O was truly unlady -like and Un FirstLady-llke when she said" If you can't run your own house how do you expect to run the White House". and how about Mrs O saying they still had college loans to pay, yet they bought that expensive house with the help of the crook. Well if you can't payoff your loans and manage your money better then perhaps you can't manage the US budget. Get the drift. The Clintons have done more for Afro Americans than the Obamas so why the cheap shots about Bill all the time. To not vote for Hillary because of the cheap shots by mean Obama supporters is sad. And how about the cheap shots against Chelsey who doesn't have a bad intention in her body. The Obama's should be so lucky to have their kids turn out a tenth as good would be great. The way Mrs. O talks about their daughters you'd think they were the only children on the earth.

    • Posted By: jbizzy @ 02/21/2008 12:50:02 AM

What if you were born in America. Wouldn't you just be consider black. Try using that instead of Afro.

    • Posted By: jbizzy @ 02/21/2008 12:47:45 AM

You must have gone to private school. What did the Cliton's do for black people. Blacks like Bill because he got caught up in a lot of sh#@ like black people and got caught. Just somebody the people could relate too. You seem to have some obsession with the Clinton's.

    • Posted By: motiondo @ 02/20/2008 2:34:15 PM

Does that mean black people - should be thankful...."Oh Thank you so much massa....wee's don know what we do wif out yaw...."
The Clintons haven't done jack for any body. The person we desire in office is someone who will represent the people of the US. not special interest groups and not - monarchies....(Bush / Clinton).
Someone with the integrity to lead and the wisdom to unite..... No way Hillary nor McCain can do either of these things better than Mr. O.......NO WAY!

    • Posted By: obamaischange @ 02/20/2008 11:04:40 AM

You're really not helping your cause by referring to the African American people as Afro Americans. I'm African American and I'm very offended.

    • Posted By: wtharrisjr @ 02/20/2008 10:06:01 AM

Once Mrs O get into office, she'll learn what it's like to be a Firstlady....after all, it'll be a learning process...she'll be new at the job.

    • Posted By: jthorner @ 02/20/2008 9:14:44 AM

What Michelle said was that they were able to pay off their college loans thanks to Barrack's best selling books and that it shouldn't take that kind of good fortune to get out from under college debt. The line about buying a house with the help of a crook has also been discredited. Check out how Bill & Hillary bought their NY house if you want to see questionable dealing.

  • Posted By: whozee @ 02/20/2008 1:56:54 PM

Well, lets face it, he is endorsed by OPRAH after all! Devout OPRAH fans probably think she'll even be his running mate. Bet my next paycheck if she had endorsed Hillary things would be different.

    • Posted By: Abby1989 @ 02/21/2008 12:45:53 AM

Oprah is too intelligent a person to endorse Hillary Clinton. The Clintons are both self serving individuals. Oprah has done a great deal of good for people and it is her right to support the best candidate, Barack Obama.

  • Posted By: vote4all @ 02/20/2008 1:59:39 PM

God help us all if Obama beats Clinton. I would hate to see the republicans win this election. All I hear is that Obama stands for change. Big deal. How do I know that it is the type of changes I want to see? At least I know what Clinton stands for! I have been around long enough to know that everyone promises that one. I don't trust him. I read last week where he was courting the black vote in private and the white voters publically. What is that? His dishonsesty will most certainly come back to bite him hard if he gets the chance to run against the republicans! Also, he just doesn't have the experience and the republicans will use that against him. Ideally- they would run together- her experience and his ability to spin, but I don't see that ever happening.

    • Posted By: Abby1989 @ 02/21/2008 12:34:22 AM

And just what is her experience? First Lady for eight years and most recently a senator from NY -- how does this qualify her for the presidency?

  • Posted By: davidvincent2007 @ 02/20/2008 2:01:31 PM

I think that the real question is, do we really want someone to lead this country that has been in Washington for so many years? I don't see change in Hilary Clinton. In my eyes, she's sneaky and I don't trust her.
At one of the debates I think before super Tuesday, the candidates were asked what their biggest weaknesses were.
Barack answered, well, my desk is always very unorganized and I have a hard time keeping everything filed right. I think that this is a legitimate weakness that someone has. I know that I'm that way.
However, Edwards answered, my biggest weakness is the overwhelming concern for the poor. Come on, that sounds so fake.
And then Clintion responded, well I just don't have the patience to wait to be able to help this country.
Barack is the only one that I think has a genuine American character.
Also, in a time of chrisis or scandal, I can easily see him coming on tv and looking directly into the camera and stating the truth.

Hillary Clinton is a phoney. Didn't her husband pledge to get affordable healthcare when he was running for president in 1992? It never happened! I am not falling for that one again. The Clintons will do anything to get their way. Have you seen the list of people that mysteriously died or committed suicide that were involved with the Clintons? Check it out at www.truthorfiction.com

McCAIN"S WIFE CANNOT BE proud with the NEW yORK TIMES?
IS SHE proud of HER HUSBAND?
ONE DAy AFTER ATTACKING MICHELLE OBAMA, CINDy McCAIN finds herself in an akward position.
I am sure MICHELLE WELL NOT STRIKE BACK. McCAIN did a masterful job in taming his wife's new found voice of criticism against Michelle.
NOW it is her time to answer questions about her husbands affair in two thousand. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED by McCAIN's former aides.
McCain already has issues with CONSERVATIVES this will not help his CAUSE.
CAN IT BE THAT HUCKABEE's pRAyers HAVE BEEN ANSWERED

    LET's LOOK AT THE FACTS.
OBAMA has shown he can organize millions of people into an organized and effetive political force.
He has made the correct judgements consistently throughout his campaign. AND THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. AT HARVARD AS WELL.

CONFUSION AND pANIC as a result of bad judgement and wrong decisions.
THE BLAME GAME. IT's your fault, no its his fault, that's it you are FIRED.
LETs GO RACIAL My destiny is more important.
It is a reflection of her style. BROAD AGENDA's, BIG plans, that are blocked by gridlock, powerful lobbyist and her inablility to unite factions in order to implement a specific agenda. COMBINE THESE FACTS WITH SCANDAL and you are left with no HOpE and a BUSH in the OVAL OFFICE.

BEING president IS ABOUT UNITING THE COUNTRy. THIS IS WHy, not just anyone can become COMMANDER N CHIEF. BEING president involves making real time decisions very frequently. OBAMA HAS proven time and time again he has a "nack" for making calm, cool, correct decisions in a real time enviornment. BE HONEST LOOK AT THE CONTRAST in CAMpaigns. THE FACTS ARE THERE.

THE MEDIA NEEDs TO REALIZE THAT THEy are a tool of indoctrination. ANy GOOD politician can manipulate the media in their favor. OBAMA AND BILL ARE VERy good politicians.

OBAMA STANDS FOR REAL CHANGE. HE IS NOT A DESperate CANDIDATE THAT WILL SAy ANyTHING TO GET ELECTED. BARAKOBAMA is not a fortune teller he cannot have concrete plans ready until he has his complete pRESEDENTIAL team together. THEN HIS pLAN HAS TO pASS BOTH HOUSES. ONE step at a time. TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL is a political trap because things change. OBAMA IS A pro and will not fall into that trap.

  • Posted By: politik @ 02/21/2008 12:23:32 AM

Even though he has a lot of emotional appeal, I think we should be considering other things very seriously in this vote. Looking deeper at his policies does not lead to a satisfying result - he is voted most liberal senator, so how is he going to get Republicans to cooperate with him? His policy outlines on his site are very liberal offer no realistic way to pay for the unending promises he makes. And we just don't know how he will withstand a general election campaign. This is the presidency! If we have a person in office who isn't a personality superstar, but who gets things done effectively, who cares if her personality is less than perfect?
