What good did swearing on the BIble do for another Clinton (Bill)? He lied to us anyway. Clinton is lying to us again. She claims ready to step into the Oval Office on the first day and run the country, who is she going to have keeping track of Wild Bill?

    • Posted By: dramafree1 @ 02/20/2008 3:01:46 PM

Hillary can't even run her campaign as it relates to campaign funds, she didn't even have a plan "B" for the "unlikely" event that Obama would still be around beyond Super Tuesday. She has demonstrated to me that she is incapable of running my government.

EVERBODY LIES!!!! YOU Freakin GOOF BALL...It's nature! When Bill lied NOBODY DIED! SO he stepped out, have you ever stepped out or are you perfect. Hey, I got it, LET"S VOTE FOR YOU! NOT!

The way I see it, and I'm in no way a political pundit but if the Dems run Obama, who is an inexperienced politician at best, never commits himself on any issues of substance (votes "present" if it might be controversial) is unable to come up with or verbalize to the American populace any plan to substantiate his "CHANGE" rhetoric we ARE GOING TO BE IN FOR ANOTHER FOUR YEARS OF REPUBLICAN RULE AND THAT MEANS A CONTINUATION OF WARS AND THE CONTINUED SLAUGHTER OF YOUNG AMERICAN LIVES FOR NATIONS THAT DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT ANY OF US. Senator Obamas whole campaign is based on "Just Words"....everybody elses. I for one haven't heard one sound idea out of this guy. If this guy thinks for one minute he is going to march into the White House and every Washington insider and old politician both Democrat or Republican is going to roll over and play dead, he's dumber than I thought he was. Talk about naive. C'mon Clinton campaign break the Obama glass house and expose him for what he is before it's too late. Maybe it's not too late and all of Democratic Americas are not taking stupid pills.....WAKE UP DEMOCRATIC AMERICA and run someone who at least has a shot of getting the war mongers out of Washington.

      who are you, Ann Coulter?

  • Posted By: vote4all @ 02/20/2008 2:59:06 PM

Yes, lets all vote for someone who tells us what we want to hear and tells us nothing real at the same time. I am a practical person and just because someone talks a good talk doesn't convince me to support him. I need something to back it up and Obama has nothing in his suitcase except well sounding words. HE COULDN'T EVEN MAKE UP HIS MIND HOW TO VOTE on how many occasions in the senate?

  • Posted By: yesandnofornow @ 02/20/2008 1:38:50 PM

What is the "change" Obama keeps talking about? He needs to tell us about it not just say the same word over and over! LOL People are falling for this?

    • Posted By: kaysqueen72 @ 02/20/2008 1:48:38 PM

THANK YOU!! I am so sick of the word "change".

This country desparately needed change, change is in the blood of our survival.

I understand what Michelle Obama meant when she said she is finally proud of America. I feel exactly the same way. As a white, female college professor, I have had to teach the realities of state and federal U.S. public policy as it has existed over the last several hundred years. For most of our history public policy has been designed to limit minorities - Mexicans, Native Americans, Chinese, Blacks, etc., etc. Policies have been written and passed that limited these individual's right to own property, vote, marry, attend public schools, eat in restaurants, live in an area of their choice. The U.S. has a shameful history of denying anyone not white and male full rights. It has only been in the last 30-40 years that some of these policies have been overturned although their momentum still contributes to minorities having lower wages and less real wealth than the white majority. I have been ashamed to be part of that white majority until now when it finally appears that our country can base it's choice for president on who a person is, experience, education, and values; not their gender or color. Unfortunately, religion still divides us as the Republican' are showing us..........

    • Posted By: fttsfmly @ 02/20/2008 2:52:48 PM

You are right mrabfab. I should have included more regarding gender since women have benefited more from the Affirmative Action laws of 1965 than minorities. Women have also been oppressed by public policy. As a woman, I am thrilled Hillary is running and she couldn't do any worse than the men. America IS ready for a female president. But, I think the results of the primaries show America is ALSO ready for a black president. And that is fantastic!

    • Posted By: tricesojazzy @ 02/20/2008 1:42:21 PM

finally being able to read something from someone who is educated and unbiased who looks at the history of this country, the facts and not be afraid to be honest about it is very refreshing thanks mrs.professor

    • Posted By: mrabfab @ 02/20/2008 1:20:32 PM

What about Gender????..............It's always about race...I think women should be proud that a woman is running for the highest office in the land. The men aren't......I believe alot of the men are afraid of a powerful/smart women and they would rather vote for anybody but the woman. Hillary would be a wonderful president and she couldn't do any worse then the men.......America IS ready for a female president...I know I am...GO HILLARY

  • Posted By: pdg57 @ 02/20/2008 1:39:11 PM

I consider myself a liberal democrat. I didn't decide that I would vote for Hillary until after the last debate between her and Barack. She was able to thoroughly answer the questions about the plans she will have in place on her first day in office as President of the United States. Barack, in my opinion, could not.
I am also a baby boomer and remember the great president John Kennedy. I don't like it that Barack Obama is being compared to JFK. He may be 'charismatic' but that is as far as the comparison goes. JFK was an intellect and an analyst when it came to politics. Please watch the debate between him and Nixon from 1960. He had analyzed all of the programs he would have in place from day one and explained them thoroughly. He had almost 14 years experience in politics, including that as a senator before he became president.
Do we really want someone as inexperienced as Barack Obama to be our leader? I

    • Posted By: morningthunder @ 02/20/2008 2:52:21 PM

Obama is an doer, not only an talker, any smartly enough individual would see this. You like to type you keyboard up a storm and ending still with Obama and Hillary. Few words about Mrs. Clinton. She lacks the "we" factor and have too much "I" in everything she says, she think she is capable of going alone and that is very dangerous for the nation.

    • Posted By: morningthunder @ 02/20/2008 2:27:58 PM

Hillary thinks too much about herself, there is no "we" in it for her and without us the people she only would be more like her husband Bill or worse beat up by Republican in Nov.

    • Posted By: Rhett @ 02/20/2008 1:49:29 PM

Hillary has no experience either. Being the first lady of Arkansas and the president allows her to "hang around" a bit, but it does not make her presidential any more than hanging around McDonald's makes you a Big Mac.

  • Posted By: Charles_BCCA @ 02/20/2008 2:51:43 PM

The voters are turned off from Hillary and she has no credibility left. She and her husband have tried all their mean spirited attacks and have miserably failed. First, it was shameless Bill playing the race card, marginalizing Obama as another black candidate, comparing him to Jessie Jackson. The fact that it did not work did not stop Hillary from shamelessly repeating it. Then came gender card ??? Hillary breaking the glass ceiling, being the champion of women. It is the same Hillary who demonised the women her husband had so shamefully sexually used, including the one who was bit older than her daughter. Hillary had all the toys in her chest, so called Clinton Machine, celebrity, money, endorsements but she fell flat, she was so full of it that she expected to be crowned a month ago. She seemed to be doing a favour to the voters by running, and had no plans for the possibility that she may have run beyond super-Tuesday. She fell flat and has lost every election since. Now it is the next one ??? the goal post keeps moving. She is so outraged to find that Obama had used lines of some one else, as if she had not been doing it all along herself. ???Change??? ???Battle Hardened??? ???I am fired up and ready to go??? are any of these her originals, among others she uses? Does she write her own speeches? It is over and thank god for that. Clintons in the Whitehouse for another four or god forbid eight years is too frightening to imagine.

Mr. Obama sure sounds like "osama" he also practices the muslm faith and it the most un patriotic person I have seen. One: He wont play our national anthom he plays another countries; Two: He wont place he hand over his heart when our national anthom does play; SO do we really want OSAMA running our country?? Could this man be the ULTIMATE SLEEPER??? I am not really a fan of anyone running this year and would like to throw all of them away and choose none, but do we really want a PRACTICING MUSLIM running our country?

    • Posted By: sonuchi @ 02/20/2008 2:48:59 PM

Of all these comments it seems this one is the only one that refers to Osama. Who cares if the man is Muslim. Wasn't America supposed to be the land of the free? For years people are fighting just because they don't understand one another's beliefs. Who cares. This is politics. Listen to what's being said and stop being ignorant. I thought church and state are supposed to be separate. If so, don't bring up religion and practices. Things change as you get older, stop fighting it and understand that what happened in the past to be a lesson and learned from. Get the idea of religion and politics out of your head and start thinking straight for the first time.

It's no wonder that Obama is doing so well - the press has almost crowned him a king - he has absolutely no faults - on the other hand, the press can't find anything to say about Hillary - it's amazing she's come as far as she has with all the negative treatment. I find it repulsive that we have become a nation of "group thinkers." Barack Obama speaks very well and is very motivating but that's about it. I have yet to hear any substance to anything he says (unless he steals from someone else (including Hillary and John Edwards). Because he has not had to defend himself on any major issues, the Republicans will have a field day with him. He couldn't stay on course when Bill Clinton gave him a hard time - just wait for the Republicans. Hillary is right - she's been there, done that, and could handle anything they can dish out.

    • Posted By: jbizzy @ 02/20/2008 2:44:41 PM

Hillary could handle America getting screwed by other countries. Hey Bill!

    • Posted By: rockies123 @ 02/20/2008 1:31:43 PM

Are you insane?! Hillary was the only one getting any air time on the major networks until the people started to scream for something different, aka Obama. By the showing of support, they had to give Obama equal time, or risk looking like the pathetic biased media that they are.

  • Posted By: tvm1963 @ 02/20/2008 1:42:18 PM

Any Democrat saying they will vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nomination is exactly what is wrong with this system. On one hand they complain about how bad things are under Bush, then say they will vote for McCain. Don't you realize McCains' presidency would just be an extension of exactly how it is now? Lets just keep our troops over in Iraq for te next hundred years (his thoughts, not mine). Do peope realize what could have been done in our own country with the money we are wasting in Iraq? Its time to put domestic issues first again and get this country going in the right direction and Obama, not some Washington elitist is going to be the one that can do that. Those who are saying his "muslim" beliefs are the reason you won't vote for him are just crazy. Look hard enough and keep doing your research on the internet and you can find just about any lie you can ever imagine.

    • Posted By: morningthunder @ 02/20/2008 2:44:20 PM

I totally agree the domestic policy are the foremost important matters of agenda what the next president must pursue. The truth is all people dies, what the terror scare is just another tactic the special foreign intrest such as AIPAC are distilling in American minds. With the election of the right candidate, national priority should no longer be ignored and smeared by the extremists from the Republican party. Foreign policy should not be served as enterntainment for the Red States instead guided by the Blue States, no longer partying topics by frat boys but sincere capable thinkers who truely understood what responsibility means and is in practice.

Not to discredit or a take away from what a tremendous sacrifice and service Sen. Mccain has done for this country, his credentials in that department are unmatched by anyone from either side of the fence, and the same goes for Sen Clinton in her struggles & sacrifices in public service for 35 years. I am a democrat, who for the 1st time in 1992 voted, all because a white man, who happened to be Gov. of Arkansas was running for president, and this man captured my attention, this man allowed me to feel a part of something, he gave me and alot of others hope, and it worked for 8 years. Now here we are 2008 and as I watch the tv, read the papers, here/listen to the everyday people, we all share the same or similar feelings about Barrack Obama, although he may have the lesser experience in politics and how things were done in DC, but he has us(the country) feeling hope, he has our undivided attention, he has captured our minds, believing in this country again and believing in him, as being a man of conviction, integrity, and definitely one who can lead us, as he will starting January 2009. Let us not forget it was 8years ago when the system elected then Gov of Texas Mr. Bush ( dong kicking cowboy), and he had as much experience in running this country, as I would being on his ranch with some boots on kicking dong with him. So let's not be to hasty or naive when speaking of Obama and what he lacks as being the next leader of the FREE WORLD.

I believe in change...Hilary Clinton Change! I have done my research on Obama. He knows nothing about running this Country the way that it needs to be run. If he wins the Democratic nomination, I WILL vote for McCain!!!

    • Posted By: jbizzy @ 02/20/2008 2:40:32 PM

You probably voted for Bush too. I guess she will do well in meeting with the muslim countries. I wonder where she will be sitting at in the meeting.

I was a Clinton supporter and would've done anything and everything possible to make sure that the "Women's Century" as I saw it became a reality, just as I was routing for Segolene Royal in France. Then from nowhere Obama entered the race. When I heard the man speak for the first time, I heard of all I had yearned for all my life. I heard someone for the frist time speak to me, for me and about me. He spoke in a new and fresh political language, of realities I can relate to, of hope that is captivating of the endless possibiliteis of tomorrow. He got my attention and made me for the FIRST TIME want to become part of the political process. In a word, he got my ATTENTION. The more I listened to him, the less appealing became. Hillary has her qualities quite allright, but they fade into insignificance in comparison to Obama's and his message. However, I have also been listening to Mrs Clinton. The more I listen to her, the more I see that her rhetorics and strategies belong to the past. We are in 21st century and cannot go back to the 19th, not even to the 20th century. No we can't!

    Reply to cook28:
I agree that is how things are going now that Hillary is running against someone who is better at projecting an image than she is. George Bush is also good at projecting an image. He is by all accounts likeable, outgoing and friendly - he certainly has no other core compentencies or successes that would justify his holding the office of presient. Hillary has demonstrated independent leadrship as a US Senator from NY. In that position she has earned a lot of respect from both parties for her intelligent approach to issues and her willingness to acheive working compromises. The biggest point about this election year is the clearing out of ALL the ugly hateful Republicans who are more interested in pushing their own pinched brain perspectives and who attack their opposition rather than look for ways to reach agreement. As a country, we need to focus on principle first, then working on solutions for our mutal problems, not the limited self-serving agendas of recent administrations. A new day is not a solution, it is not a way forward. We will again find ourselves caught up in the euphoria of the moment as though buying a new car solves all our problems. Do you suppose Barack is going to find successful action at the end of a good speech - will he be enough of a motivator to cause others to act appropriately? Will he accomplish anything with a nice smile and pleasant appearance? Important points for an egotistical country more concerned with image rather than principle.

obama's father was indeed a muslim, not that there is anything wrong with being a muslim, indeed not, and while your checking that out, check out his "marxist liberation theology church teachings", very interesting indeed, but scary

wonder if al sharpton will be appointed secretary of defense, or perhaps attorney general, that would be more to his liking

It really is very inappropriate for the news media to cover the Clintons from a very different angle than when they cover Obama. It's actually beginning to disgust me by how they simply don't challenge or even want to discuss any questions that should arise when someone runs for the highest office of this country. It's almost like they're afraid or something, afraid of the NAACP, who knows. I watch MSNBC, and to have this come from me is saying quite something. Say what you want to say to make my argument look like a sore supporter, but there is no way you can disprove my argument about the media.

    • Posted By: jthorner @ 02/20/2008 9:12:34 AM

Hillary Clinton enjoyed years of positive media attention leading up to this race. She got 10x more coverage than any typical Junior Senator would have gotten simply because her name ended in Clinton. In this race today the media would be gloating over sticking a fork in her if she wasn't a Clinton, but instead punches are pulled and they say that anybody else would be done for, but a Clinton might still pull off the nomination.

Perhaps I missed something? Just what is Obamas message? I keep hearing him say he wants change, followed by nothing substantive; something like white noise. I heard him talk about government work programs and distributing money earned by "rich" people by confiscating it and giving it to poor people. Couldn't we just move back to Russia and re-assemble the soviet union if we want that type of deal? Obama and Hillary each want to be a good master to you. Isn't there anyone out there that is brave enough that wants to be free? Private property, the rule of law, honest money and limited government. Do you want government servants or a master? Google RON PAUL

There are a lot of negative comments about both candidates. I see a person that seems to posses the ability to unite the people. I see a person with the intelligence to establish new policies. I see a person able to go into foreign countries and create partnerships and resolve conflicts. I see a person with the ability to lead this country back to dominace. I see a leader.

Ah, the masses. So much of our well-being: economic, educational, international, budgetary ~ depends on the mystery of trust, especially as it relates to all people, not only people of stature. Clearly, through political savvy, the Clintons have increased their own family ~spoils go to the mighty; so here is where many of us 'get' Obama & his family ~ they do indeed 'get' struggle that ordinary families experience. With the poise of orator of historical context, you would be hard pressed to find ANY so well spoken orator/leader, who has failed to engage the mass of his constituency in healthy choices, courage, debate, optimism, and yes, hope. Hope is the only good by-product of troubles in life - ask my son, Jabez (named well before the popular book came out). As an elementary aged child, I was selected, it was about 1965, to attend a small Bobby Kennedy rally. Barak is the only politician since that eventual tragedy, who is worthy to pull the sword from the stone in my heart that froze me into the optimism that I understood when hearing what Bobby wanted and died to defend. Part of me died with him and part of me froze that dream in time. Thank you Michele & Barack Obama, for your successful quest in retrieving that sword for me, for the common man, woman, child, for First Americans.
