I was a Clinton supporter and would've done anything and everything possible to make sure that the "Women's Century" as I saw it became a reality, just as I was routing for Segolene Royal in France. Then from nowhere Obama entered the race. When I heard the man speak for the first time, I heard of all I had yearned for all my life. I heard someone for the frist time speak to me, for me and about me. He spoke in a new and fresh political language, of realities I can relate to, of hope that is captivating of the endless possibiliteis of tomorrow. He got my attention and made me for the FIRST TIME want to become part of the political process. In a word, he got my ATTENTION. The more I listened to him, the less appealing became. Hillary has her qualities quite allright, but they fade into insignificance in comparison to Obama's and his message. However, I have also been listening to Mrs Clinton. The more I listen to her, the more I see that her rhetorics and strategies belong to the past. We are in 21st century and cannot go back to the 19th, not even to the 20th century. No we can't!

Obama is the blackest white man I have ever seen. I'm surprised that he isn't republican too.

    Hey JC1010,

You're the one who got conned. go wash monica's blue dress with your tongue you Clinton lover.

A vote for Barack is a vote for Islam, that is the change being discussed. A vote for the Nation of Islam. I took the time to read Barack's book and research is views, so I KNOW what his change means. His change is on his website too--no longer will all African Americans get as he says "the short end of the stick" Funny, seems he and his wife got to Harvard, so I'm not sure what change he thinks is needed, but I know what he is referring to because unlike many, I did my homework. You all are going to be very suprised and I don't want to be stuck with your mistake. Many of you writing baout Hillary were ten years old when her husband was in office, and how sexist! Just because her husband was in office means SHE can't run for office? SEXISM at it's' worst. Barack is part of the same old Washington, he is a party line Democrat, a US senator. He is not a fresh face, he is a newcomer. Why that gives him an advantage is BS. All I know is that he has a huge Muslim background and he distrusts some white people--in his own words.

Yawn! So tired of hearing the "he's a Muslim waiting to attack the US from the inside"! I am a Republican and I voted in the Democratic Primary in VA...for Barack Obama as did a lot of my friends. I remember very well all the hoopla about Vincent Foster and Whitewater not to mention Monica Lewinsky just to name a few embarrassing moments in Clinton history. My bet is on Obama and after he clinches the nomination I also predict a landslide victory in Nov!! BTW, love Michelle Obama too! She's the good woman behind the good man!

"Just because her husband was in office means SHE can't run for office? SEXISM at it's worst." Nobody has said she 'can't' run for office. What we are saying is that she can't claim the experience of the office that her husband held. That's not sexism, it's reality.
I am a 37 yr. old married woman and I have 10+ years as a restaurant manager. Can my husband, who has spent many nights sitting having coffee in my restaurant step in and do my job? No, he can't because he doesn't have 'my' experience. Is it sexism because 'I', as the woman, have the experience and he does not?

Sexism would be saying he could never do the job because he is a man.

Sexism would be saying she could never be president because she is a woman. NOBODY has said that.

Soutberwick19, you are sounding VERY racist. I long ago decided that Hillary with all her lies, stealing and deceit would never get MY vote. Can you imagine what a leader of another country would think of her when she shrieked at him as I've heard her shriek as she campaigns and on the Senate floor?

  • Posted By: geographyteacher @ 02/20/2008 1:54:45 PM

Don't you people realize that the democrats and republicans are not for the people of America. They exist only for themselves. Neither party represents the needs of real Americans. My solution: every elected representative in Washington gets six years to work there then they have to go back to a real job in their home state. No more lifer jokers like we have now. They have screwed up the United States beyond recognition.

    • Posted By: tricesojazzy @ 02/20/2008 2:14:33 PM

O MY GOODNESS KNOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN IDEA BUT I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM SIX YEARS MAY THREE THEN LETS SEE IF THEY CAN BE REELECTED AND YES THEY NEED TO WORK REGULAR JOBS TO THEN MAYBE THEY WILL HAVE A GREATER RESPECT FOR REAL AMERICANS

    Perfect Con Job

To all the folks who spew hate and venom towards the Clintons I`ve got news for you..All of you have been sucker punched by the Obama Camp.. No one knew Obama until Queen Oprah introduced him to the world..Remember guys this is the same Oprah who has made millions of your backs..This country has been ruined by GW and his cronies and thanks to the hate you have for the Clintons its the sam thing GW counted on and got in 2004..

Over the last year while you`ll were busy hating and throwing Garbage at the Clintons for what Bush has done to our great country and at the same time hoping for a miracle it happened..Oprah gave you the Messiah O B A M A and now you guys all go gaga over him..Think about it ,you really think he gives a rats tail about you..He had no plans of coming up from within the ranks..Abt 2yrs in the Senate and now he is ready to lead a Super Power..What a big jump..Look at john Mccain and other Senators including Hillary..They have been in politics for quite sometime..Your claim that Hillary has no experience is not true..she has travelled the world while Bill was President andduring that time has met several world leaders..What has Obama done..Has he even met anyone out of this country..The crosk that the middle east leaders won`t meet with a woman president is a sham..They need us more than we need them..Geramny has Angela Merkel an so do several othe countries..Why the hell shud we prevent a woman from being president..This is America a land of opportunity and we don`t pick leaders because the world likes them..If the Mid East don`t want to meet with a woman president then too bad..they are still in the stone ages so nothing in their culture will change that..Obama was banking on getting your votes because of the Hate The Clintons attitude and boy it has really worked well..Once he gets into the White House and does a crappy jos, don`t blame him because its you folks who put him there...Moreover the hate you have for the Clintons clearly indicates that yiu are no better than the hateful radical muslims...think abt it before you make that big mistake..You are the majority and could make this wrong right...Ireally hope the folks in the rest of the primaries think before they vote, beacuse Obama,Oprah,Sharpton,Jackson and farrakkhan are still counting on your hate for the Clintons because its the perfect hit job....Don`t get conned..JC

I like the comments I am reading here. They jive with my own. Yes Bill was great to all people and the same for Hillary. I find it rather strange that the Obamas are not proud of America. Black people have made many inroads and have several prominent black people to than for that. The Obamas are not little people, they are both Harvard educated lawyers. They do not understand the struggle all people have to get by each day.

    • Posted By: cook28 @ 02/20/2008 2:09:15 PM

You have certainly provided the happy ending Obama arrived at but missed the beginning and the middle that would answer your question.

  • Posted By: toosmart12 @ 02/20/2008 2:09:11 PM

Hillary is the most corrupt first lady to ever live in the white house.
Absolutely nothing about her is sincere. She is pathetic and dangerous!

  • Posted By: realitycheckUSA @ 02/20/2008 1:27:16 PM

If change is what you are looking for, I would think the best person to accomplish that would be someone with brass who can impliment these changes. A young, inexperienced Obama doesn't have the connections to do that. Hillary, on the other and, has the experience and the backing to get the changes done. Obama is targeting the young, and nieve, and he is gettting that vote. We all want change, but we have to look past the gung-ho mentality and get real. We managed to re-elect Bush so my guess is, is right person will get past us again.

    • Posted By: pritzius_dd @ 02/20/2008 2:07:53 PM

I'm looking for change: to find Americans who check their facts before speaking. Hillary has less elected governmental experience than Obama--they both are just first-term (junior) senators (and Barack was an Illinois State Senator first, so actually is ahead in the experience numbers game). But you are right: Billary does have the brass, and great plans for the extra tax money she is planning to extract from your hide, if elected...

    • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 02/20/2008 1:36:39 PM

HILLARY is definintely NOT the right person. SHE just wants POWER. As for Bill, she should have dumped the bum when he drug her through the Monica mud with him.

  • Posted By: wibrowning @ 02/20/2008 2:07:25 PM

Hillary is starting to SELF-DESTRUCT!!! She can't win on her own merits, so she is going negative in desparation. This trivia about Obama's "plagarism" is petty--since the comments in questions were made by Obama's friend, advisor, and co-chair of his campaign, with whom they often share ideas. Hillary on the other hand apparently "lifts" comments (without appropriate attribution) from her competitors when it suits her. Her comments comparing illegal immigration to a Blockbuster movie rental is a direct quote taken from John Edwards in a debate about 4 months prior to her using those words. I don't believe Hillary gets appropriate credit for all of her "experience" Her experience includes being married to an adulterer (remember Monica Lewinsky, Paula Jones, and more), and a perjuror under oath (can you define the meaning of the word "IS". Her experience includes intimate involvement with a real estate scandal (Whitewater), and declaring her candidacy for Senator from New York before she has even lived in the state one day (carpetbeggar?). Her experience included flunking the Washington Bar exam (the truth, check it out). And she is experienced in losing (subpoenaed) public documents (for months) in the private living quarters of the White House. Sorry, Hillary--but your experience is the kind I can do without. I am an old, white male, a lifelong Republican who has every intention of voting for Barack Obama in November.!

  • Posted By: davidpaul @ 02/20/2008 2:07:01 PM

As a actual delegate to the next convention who's vote will count, I can predict with 100% certainty who will get my vote. The candidate for REAL change RON PAUL. Sound Money, No undeclared 100 year wars, strong national defence, Fixing the bankrupt social security system for those currently dependent upon it, and freedom from it for the young. Abolish the Federal Reserve, the PRIVATE banking cartel that creates money out of thin air and makes us chase it from boom to bust in seven year cycles.

Oh, we were talking about OBAMA and HILLARY? WHO CARES?

  • Posted By: LaTraviata @ 02/20/2008 1:24:36 PM

What is more bigoted - being racist or being sexist? I'm not a big fan of either, but Hilary clearly has more experience and is more realistic overall. Obama's lofty speeches are inspiring, but where's the substance? I fear he is all icing and no cake.

    • Posted By: cook28 @ 02/20/2008 2:06:49 PM

I'm from NY, her credibility here shows no experience more than Obama. Do research first.

    • Posted By: lexigrandma @ 02/20/2008 1:40:05 PM

Hildabeast is NOT the answer. SHE also has NO EXPERIENCE.

  • Posted By: AntiKoolAid @ 02/20/2008 2:06:48 PM

The awful truth about Hillary is that she comes across as smarmy, holier-than-thou, shrill at times, divisive, mean-spirited, martyred, willing to throw anyone under the bus to promote herself. She made a killing from manipulating pharmaceutical stocks during the Hillary Healthcare Siege and I'm supposed to trust her and the federal gov with my healthcare?!? Facts are ppl who are actually working cannot generate enough revenue to support the welfare state she proposes - no matter how creative your mathematics.

southberwick19 is spewing info from the junk email that ran around the Internet weeks ago and has been proven FALSE many times over. Read the book; whatever. And by the way, ALL politicians "borrow" lines from other people and speakers around them and from history. It is an act of desperation that the Clinton campaign has now swooped to the standard politican smear tactics. As I democrat, it is easy to see that the Clinton Kabal is no different than the Bush Kabal: they will circle the cronies in the White House and give us 4 more years of political bickering and stagnation. Obama is the only one who does have the massive trail of vultures to please. He is actually being voted in and supported by PEOPLE and not an ancient set of lobby groups. Those who are crying for Clinton should pay attention the fact that Obama is winning the vote of the people. And if you want oto cry cry cry that it is the media's fault, go join the Republican Party. That has been their excuse as well.

I consider Democratic Party like a family. In a family the A member is senior and has more experience while B member is yong and good at talk but no expereince. Member A's Seniority should be respected. Also 95% of their views on various issues are same. Also absantee record in senate for member A is 22% and member B is 45%. Member B has said if he gets the presidency he will seek advice from A. This alone proves that A is more capable. Instead of fighting they should team up for the job and they will win. Member A should be the president and member B should be the VP, period even Member B gets more delegates and no one reaches the magic number. Regadless Member B should compromize and work it out rather than going into the DOG FIGHT in the FAMILY.

I am still a Hillary Clinton supporter. She has proven her worth in her two terms as a US Senator from NY. I disagree with the negative campaign tactics recently employed by her election team. Such tactics do look like an act of desperation and are much too similar to methods employed by the hateful Republicans since Newt Gingrich's "New Deal..." (for republicans). Hillary needs to maintain her poise, talk only about opposing the illegal and over reaching current administration's idiotic and self-serving ways. At all times appear to be the leader she will need to be in the office of president, i.e., no crying, no fretting, no serving food like a maid to reporters (did Bill ever do that?). Hillary is everything we could want for a person in this job, it is now all a matter of her projecting the correct image. Clearly, the only reason Barack Obama is doing as he is, has to do more with motivating followers than to do with anything he has accomplished to date. The Clinton campaign does not need to continuosuly point out Barack's lack of substance because in doing this they are losing the hearts of their followers. Democrats as a whole must focus on returning this country to acting on principle and purpose for the greater good of all citizens and rsidents, and not looking to infame every incident as a national crisis and a justificatin to act against principles.

CONN JOB THATS FUNNY BUT ANOTHER NOTE PLEASE READ UR HISTORY A LIL BETTER SOME BLACK PEOPLE WERE SOLD INTO SLAVERY A LOT MORE WERE STOLEN AND FORCED INTO SLAVERY.

  • Posted By: conspiracy101 @ 02/20/2008 2:00:17 PM

The media and the DNC did Americans a great disservice by rushing to back candidates who would make history over candidates who could actually win the White House. I fear that the next president will be McCain because the Democrats weren't smart enough to keep a candidate who could compete with him. The only hope is that the Democrats hit a brokered convention and wipe their slate clean to find someone who can win in November.

  • Posted By: frustrated_american @ 02/20/2008 1:31:33 PM

Not really a supporter of either Dem candidate... but can someone please tell me if OBama has indicated HOW he is going to implement change. The fact is, WE THE PEOPLE, need to implement change.. and the change needs to come through the machinery on the hill.

    • Posted By: cook28 @ 02/20/2008 1:59:06 PM

Now imagine Hillary leading the team on the Hill. Imagine what will get done when very few even care for her and her tactics.

  • Posted By: poorlimogurl @ 02/20/2008 1:56:23 PM

It is bizarre and frightening, the extent of ignorance that pervades the thoughts of many of those that post here and presumably will be casting votes. I don't have a problem with people voting with their ideals, but if one can not read and comprehend the facts that they are "researching," well, how on earth can they be expected to cast a fair and educated vote? I too, did my research. Obama is not a muslim, and all that other crap that was generated by an anonymous hate-mongering email can be dismantled and easily explained by the true and actual facts. Furthermore, why do so many of you care about having seasoned politicians in office?? What the hell good have they done for our country? Frankly, I think we need someone with a few less connections.
