Comment: Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (?Filegate?) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 1996, both the drug use and Hillary's involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving seven presidents for over thirty years. - In order to open ?slots? in the White House for her friends the Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), Hillary had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were reported to the FBI for 'gross mismanagement' and their reputations ruined. After a thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with a crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks. The jury acquitted him in less than two hours. - Another of Hil lary's assumed duties was directing the 'bimbo eruption squad' and scandal defense: ---- She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. ---- She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. ---- Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after all. ---- And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury ---- And Bill was impeached by the House. ---- And Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, 'I do not recall,' 'I have no recollection,' and 'I don't know' 56 times under oath). -

Here's the brass tacks boys and girls-
You fall for Obama's 'Oprah talk" and actually excuse his empty record and boilerplate ideas because you don't care about policy.
You think it's boring. And that's why you're all lousy at the subject of politics. You're not even interested in geo-politics or economics so all you can go on is cheap talk about "hope" and "change" and other empty platitudes.
You are naive because you are willfully ignorant.Your opinion about any political matter has no more weight or importnce than your opinion about rocket science.
Unless you actually happen to be a rocket scientist.
If you're not interested enough in what is very loosely referred to as "politiics" to have some rudimentary understanding about political ideas then you're probably making the wrong choice when it comes to politicians.
Get a book.Go on the web.Start reading a variety of material about world politics and economics.Be objective. You can't learn anything if you're not objective.
THEN you can support a candidate for real reasons instead of throwing in the towel and just pulling the lever that says "hope" or 'change".
Any naive person can be sold a bill of goods.
And if studying is too boring then it's because you're not interested in the subject at hand.
So do america a favor on election day.
Stay home and spare us the influence of your eenie-meenie-minie-mo vote.

    LET's LOOK AT THE FACTS.
OBAMA has shown he can organize millions of people into an organized and effetive political force.
He has made the correct judgements consistently throughout his campaign.
HIS TEAM IS A REFLECTION of HIM ORGANIZED HONEST AND HARD WORKING.
    CONSISTENT, GENUINE.

    LET"S LOOK AT HILLARy's campaign.
A lot of fighting and divisivness.
    A lot of firing's.
    A lot of bad JUDGEMENTS
CONFUSION AND pANIC as a result of bad judement and wrong decisions.
THE BLAME GAME. IT's your fault not its his fault, that's it you are FIRED.
LET GO RACIAL My destiny is more important.
It is a reflection of her style. BROAD AGENDA's, BIG plans, only to have them blocked because she was unable to unite factions in order to implement her agenda. COMBINE THAT WITH SCANDAL and you are left with no HOpE and a BUSH in the OVAL OFFICE.

BEING president IS ABOUT UNITING THE COUNTRy. THIS IS WHy not just anyone can become COMMANDER N CHIEF. BEING president involves making real time decisions very frequently. OBAMA HAS proven time and time again he has a "nack" for making a calm cool correct decisions in a real time enviornment. BE HONEST LOOK AT THE CONTRAST in CAMpaigns. THE FACTS ARE THERE.

THE MEDIA NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEy are a tool of indoctrination. ANy GOOD politician can manipulae the media in their favor. OBAMA AND BILL ARE VERy good politicians.

OBAMA is not a fortune teller he cannot have plans ready until he has his complete team together. ONE step at a time. TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL is a political trap because things change. OBAMA IS A pro and will not fall into that trap.

Comment: Feel free to check these records for yourself; better still, read a little more, and try and stay current before posting assinine comments: Clinton v. Obama on Legislative Experience: Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years. These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you: 1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site. 2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month. 3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. 4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall. 5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson. 6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea. 7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day. 8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day. 9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death. 10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship. 11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship. 12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program. 13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda. 14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death. 15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11. 17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims in other countries. 19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care. 20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system. There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate

EVERY STATISTIC AND POLL HAVE Unanimously INDICATED THAT OBAMA WOULD DEFEAT McCAIN IN A NATIONAL ELECTION. THIS IS THE REASON OBAMA WILL BE THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE.

McCain WILL BE DEFEATED IN A LAND SLIDE BY OBAMA in A NATIONAL ELECTION.
THE ECONOMY AND THE WAR are AGAINST McCAIN. HIS ONLY SOLUTION IS TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO"FOR A HUNDRED YEARS". WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS. NOT ME, PERHAPS HOLY ROLLER CAN FUND THIS HUNDRED YEAR AGENDA McCAIN HAS READY FOR ALL TAX PAYING AMERICANS.

HE WANTS TO KEEP THE BUSH TAX CUT'S INTACT. AS KARL ROVE MENTIONED IN HIS MOST RECENT ARTICLE IN NEWS WEEK, the REGAN ERA IS OVER. SUPPLY SIDE ECONOMICS IS NOT THE ANSWER.

THE MIDDLE CLASS WILL HAVE TO SUFFER UNDER McCAIN.
HE BELIEVES THIS AMERICAN SUFFERING IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT A MISGUIDED FOREIGN POLICY WHICH IS BASED ON FEAR AND NOT REALITY. IN FACT McCAIN'S AGENDA IS BADLY OUTDATED AND VERY UNPOPULAR AMONG MANY CONSERVATIVES IN HIS OWN PARTY, manY oF WHOM WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA OR STAY HOME IN NOVEMBER.

REMEMBER THE PROBLEMS IN IRAQ AND PALESTINE AND THE REST OF THAT REGION ARE
POLITICAL in NATURE. McCAIN is a great MILITARY MAN. BUT HIS EXPERTISE WAS NEEDED in TWO THOUSAND TWO, not now. WE NEED CHANGE. AND OBAMA WILL BE ABLE TO UNITE FACTIONS IN ORDER TO BRING STABILITY TO THAT REGION.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO OBAMA APPOINTING McCAIN TO BE THE NEXT HEAD OF HOMELAND SECURTIY.

McCAIN's VIABILITY TO BECOME PRESIDENT EXPIRED FOUR YEARS AGO.

BARAK NEEDS A YES WE CAN SLOGAN IN SPANISH.
THEN MAKE T SHIRTS AND OTHER ATTIRE and HAND THEM OUT IN TEXAS AND OHIO.

"YES WE CAN" "YES WE CAN" "YES WE CAN" TEXAS AND OHIO.

IT is TIME TO SEND A MESSAGE AND DELIVER THE KNOCK OUT BLOW.
TAKING YOUR GLOVES OFF EARLY IS NOT ALWAYS THE WISEST DECISION TO MAKE. SOME MIGHT EVEN CALL IT NAIVE.

ONE OF THE MAIN POINTS OBAMA MADE IN LAST NIGHTS SPEECH WAS THAT THE CHALLENGE of implementing change is JUST BEGINNING> THAT CHANGE IS NOT EASY. AND WILL TAKE A UNITED EFFORT from all not just a few.

CAN HILLARY MAKE HER LAST STAND IN TEXAS AND OHIO A SUCCESSFUL ONE.

"OR WILL THIS OBAMA WAVE , POWERED BY A THUNDEROUS MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE, SWALLOW HILLARY AND HER ARMY OF LATINOS" eddiewhere 2008.

OBAMA GAVE A TREMENDOUS SPEECH IN TEXAS LAST NIGHT.
THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SPEECH WAS WHEN OBAMA MENTIONED THAT SOME LEADERS SAY THAT I CANNOT ENGAGE OUR ENEMIES IN DISCUSSION. TO THEM I SAY YES I CAN.
YES WE CAN. YES WE CAN.

One of the problems with Obama facing scurtiny before now is that the democratic party is afraid to be politically incorrect and question an african american for fear of being called a racist. Bill Clinton touched this third rail and paid the price in S.C.

There Mr. Samuelson, you got to put in writing your littel narrow-minded boring opinions about Senator Obama, do you feel better now? Good because the Senator from Illinois is going to win the Democratic nomination and also the Commander in Chief title and do you want to know why? Because it is Americans like myself who are fed up and disgusted with the current president, his administration, and the negative and hateful propaganda that you, Senators Clinton and McCain, and other Obama-haters spew out trying in vain to dissuade people like me from believing that maybe, just maybe our country might have a chance to keep from sliding further into despair, bankruptcy, and turmoil. It has been, and will be Americans like myself that turn out in HUGE numbers to vote for Senator Obama in state primaries, caucuses, and finally the general election. Senator Obama will be the next President of the United States Mr. Samuelson and Co. and it will be partly attributed to Senator Obama's intelligence, experience, inner strengths and out-going personality but largely in part from the backlash fueled by negative, narrow-minded, think-you-know-it-all wannabe president too people that will seal the deal!

    GO OBAMA GO!!

do not forget about the substantive pise of legislation that Saint Obama introduced that would allow people that are caught inside your home and are shoot by the homeowner to be allowed to sue you for protecting your family and property. Now that is a position that mainstream voters can rally behind, NOT!

You people kill me. Obama was one of the first candidates to declare that he was running for president and was open to any scrutiny from that point forward. Why did no one do it? I'll tell you why; because no one took him serious as a bonafide presidential candidate. America wanted to look progressive by proclaiming Obama as the first legitimate(serious) African American candidate. This would look good to the world and boost the American image as a fair country ready to give all of it's citizens a chance to be whatever they could. Also, realistically, I feel that many people did seriously consider him as a potential VP candidate. What happened was that he took control of this primary and could actually win the nomoination. Now people are saying; Who is this guy? It's the same guy who proclaimed his candidacy in 2006. Why didn't the press and other people check this guy out over the last 18 months? They didn't think he had a chance to win, so he was given a pass to do and say whatever because most people felt tha it didn't matter. But it did and it still does. The problem is now that if the media jump on him too hard now, the appearance will be that they are treating him unfairly and they would be. Why, because he should have been scrutinized all the time. By the media or whomever not doing their appointed duty, they did a disservice to Mr. Obama and the country. Now everyone has to scramble around to try to figure out what to do and how to do it. It won't work because he has caught the imagination of the American public and the people trust him more than they trust his detractors. He will influence greatly who the next president of the United Staes will be whether it is him or not and that puts him in a very powerful position. So as this election advances, we will all find out exactly who Mr. Barack Obama truly is. I can hardly wait.

Comment: Record. Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight months of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced 233 regarding healthcare reform, 125 on poverty and public assistance, 112 crime fighting bills, 97 economic bills, 60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills, 21 ethics reform bills, 15 gun control, 6 veterans affairs and many others. His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law), **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law), **The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law), **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more. In all since he entered the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no legislative record. . . . My last point: Obama needs name recognition, he needs to be among the people, so people feel like they have access to him. HRC's debate challenge is more about the fact that her campaign is running low on money and she gets free air-time without spending anything. Would you give up the chance to see 20,000 voters up close and personal to be on a televised debate? No way! Obama, stick to your guns. Debate on your terms, not Hillary's! Go Obama 2008!

Ok! amongst others Obama is a good orator. So what? It is only when you lack that you start rallying againts it. So pro-clintonites, if thats not your area then what is it that you have? 35 years of experience? Really? Lets see if those experience are really wieghty as you claim. You 35 years of experience has led you to visit a small indonesian mislum school, to dig up 40 year old thrashes from a kindergarten school, to clinically examine the amount of nicotine a youth had taken, and boy is this a reflection of your so called Experience? America is a BIG country. a country with a Promise to be great and the white house belongs to those who dream big. and right now Obama has all it takes to claim. Yes we can!!

Barack Obama is a transformational figure, like Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy. He inspires young voters, and those who have never voted before. Turnout for the Democratic primaries and caucuses has been record-breaking, due in large part to Obama's inspirational message of hope, change, transition. Plus, he seems to have the same teflon coating enjoyed by Reagan - Nothing sticks to him, and you attack him at your own peril.

    • Posted By: coolrepublica @ 02/20/2008 8:53:59 PM

Since I am a young person I can say this with certainty. Young people are idiots. Most of them and they all seem to have followed Obama to lala land. If young people were the voice of change why is Iran still a hell hole. Young people brought Ayatola to power. young people helped keep Mao n power and enforced his his crazy rules and they did tit with a smile on their faces. young people helped put bush Jr. in power too. Just because you are young and you are inspired does not mean that you know it all. Basic. I could give more example when young people f**cked up but I don't have enough space.

Comment: Times columnist Andres writes. He adds that, "despite her reassuring rhetoric" that her health care proposal is not a "government takeover" and contains no "new bureaucracy," Clinton proposes to "use the heavy hand of government" to require all residents to obtain health insurance. Her "near-religious zeal to force universal coverage strikes some as odd," Andres writes, adding, "Why compel someone to buy something he or she can't afford?" According to Andres, the "financial penalties for those who fail to purchase insurance ... stirs significant opposition," and Clinton "opened a political can of worms" when she said that she might seek to garnish the wages of residents who can afford health insurance but do not obtain coverage. "Improving health care is a salient bread-and-butter election issue this year," Andres writes, adding, "Compelling everyone to buy a product, whether he wants it or not ... sounds more like a mandate for defeat than a promise of political success" (Andres, Washington Times, 2/14).

    Comment:
    Hillary Clinton Goofs Again
    A Commentary by Dick Morris

Who was it that defined neurosis as repeating the same mistake again and again, and expecting a better outcome each time? That???s really what the Clinton campaign is doing in its post-Chesapeake primary strategy. Now Hillary defines Obama as the candidate who makes speeches, while she is the one who provides ???answers??? and ???solutions.???

Why is Hillary embracing this new line? It???s not that she has any great record of solutions or answers of which to boast, but rather that she wants to highlight Obama???s lack of a legislative record. Once again, she and her campaign geniuses are making the same mistake they made when they decided to use the experience as their defining difference with Obama. It???s not that she had much, but they sensed an opportunity to highlight that he had even less.
Of course experience not only didn???t work. It backfired massively. By co-opting the experience tag, Hillary bought into the status quo and left Obama to be the agent of change. A candidacy that could have excited tens of millions of women, the first serious prospect of a female president, became merely a boring part of the status quo, shorn of its novelty.

Hillary???s claim to be the solution-person won???t work either for the same simple reason: She hasn???t passed any...she hasn???t walked the walk so now she cannot talk the talk.

As a first lady, Hillary???s sole important legislative involvement came during the first two years of her husband???s presidency when she sought to pass her ill-conceived health care reform, an effort that failed so miserably that it cost her party control of the House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years. Between 1995 to 1997, she was largely absent from the White House, traveling the world, promoting her best selling book and helping to raise funds. She never attended strategy meetings and her only intervention in the singular legislative achievements of Bill???s administration ??? welfare reform and the balanced budget deal ??? was privately to urge a veto of the former and to oppose the latter because it provided for a cut in the capital gains tax. Hillary returned to the White House in 1998 to oversee the defense to the Lewinsky scandal and the impeachment attempt, but the Clinton administration essentially folded its legislative efforts during those years and hung on for dear life. No portfolio of accomplishments there...

Her only actual legislation included one bill to increase nurse recruitment, another to aid respite time for Alzheimer???s care givers and another to expand veterans??? health benefits, a paltry output for six years??? service.

In her second term, she has spent full-time campaigning for president and has the worst attendance record of the three senators now still in the presidential race.

A campaign is like a football game. I learned many years ago how things can change at the very last minute. I was watching this game between the Bills and some other team and there was 5 seconds left on the clock I told my aunt why they are they even continuing playing for since It was over the team that was down could possibly not do anything in 5 in 5 seconds. Gosh was I wrong. 5 seconds in a football game is like an eternity. It just happens that the team that was down won the game during those 5 seconds. I am not counting Hillary down. k.

Its about time someone in the media pointed out obamas hypocricy. my only question is why did you wait until he almost had the nomination shown shut. If the media had been doing their job all along the current standings may have been different. How sad that now that Hillary is looking like yesterdays news you come out and say what she has been saying all along. His policies are no different, he is an insider just like her and his change is nothing more than recycled and stolen ideas from other people. Thanks, but it may be too late for the truth to do any good.
