What happened in Belgrade is almost a natutral reaction of an angered nation. West cannot pretend to be surprised and appaled by this Serbian people's reaction.By the way, i recently signed up on S e n i o r Woo.com in hope to meet friends or more on Internet. Is it easy? Comment: Considering that the world has more than enough insane islamic states, the so-called independent Kosovo is just the latest of the too many BONEHEADED BUSH BUNGLING!

We should be seeking to DECREASE insane islamic states in the world, not increase them.
The world should be seeking to remove ALL signs and symbols of islam; so that future generations are not brainwashed with the mental poison of islamic lessons in violence, vengeance and barbarism.

Insane islam DOES NOT belong in the Balkans. Insane islam IS the root of the present problems in the Balkans; and ALL its signs and symbols should be eradicated, or shipped to the Arabian Peninsula.
So creating one more sign of insane islam, independent Kosovo, is only another source of problems for the people of the Balkans.

Kosovo, a place of a mere 2 million inhabitants CANNOT stand on its own apart from Serbia, without outside assistance.
As soon as the nonsensical NATO forces leave, the Serbs will RIGHTLY overturn the silly independence.

Also, why foolishly antagonize a nation with numerous nukes, the Russians (Serbia's close ally)?

before Srebrenica in 1995., there was a crime in Srebrenica in 1992. This teror provoke another teror in 1995. But, I know that you in UK, and of course, others, don???t know that there were Serbs killed in Srebrenica in 1992. and Serbian officilials brought paper with names of all victims to the Hague tribunal, but nothing. Do you understand that there are 3. 227 names of killed Serbs. The accusation of Srebrenica in 1995. is established by some evidences which are not so sure,???cause they don???t have names of victims, and from time to time they make that number higher and higher. I supose that no one know what is the right number of killed muslim in Srebrenica. But also there is an evidence that show that it???s not so clear that case of 1995. Srebrenica.
I supose that you didn???t know that there are Serbs killed in Srebrenica too.

Also, n Sarajevo were killed 2.436 Serbs, missing 575 Serbs, raped 221 Serbs, locked in camps 2.996 Serbs, torturede 846 Serbs.

In whole Bosnia were documented 26.818 serbian victims from 1992, to 1995. Of that is only 19% soldiers, others were civilians.

In Croatia in action Oluja 250 000 Serbs are exiled 2.500 killed. From 1990. ???till 2000. the number of exiled Serbs is 450 000 ??? 650 000.The most in Oluja and Bljesak. In 1990. the many of them were exiled from their workplaces, from 1991. started a massive exiled from Croatia. Today, everything that were belong to the Serbs, apartments, houses, aren???t return to the Serbs, yet.
Well, if we should talk about who deserve what, let's start from USA: 2 000 000 Indians!!!
Then, do you think that Germans pay enough for all II WW victims?
Serbs didn't kill 2 000 000 Croats and Bosnians. Or made some nazi camps with rooms for torturing and with gas.
Do you know which nation, after Jews, have a big number of victims in II WW? Do you know that Germans in II WW had an order, in Serbia: for one killed German, killed 100 Serbs?
Do you know why the war in former Yugoslavia started? 'Cause Slovenia and Croatia broke the constitution of then Yugoslavia. If you want to discus about Balkan's politics try to get right information. War started when regular government of still existing state make move for protection of constitution.
If Serbs made a such genocide, tell me: why Serbs don't live in that area ( when they made a genocide ) anymore. The ironic thing is that even USA knows that treat is not coming from Serbs, in Kosovo, but from Albanians. That's why they supported their independence.
Any way, for those who don't know very much European history, have to know that Germans always lead the
acts against Slavic. Now that acts include USA, UK, and others.

The united States should continue its hard line stance against Serb Nationalists. I have read much about the conflict and it seems to me that certain Serbians are only interested in recreating their former glory during the middle ages and they don't care if they have to eliminate anybody standing in their way. It is time to move on. The last time we allowed a group of people to recreate their former glory resulted in Nazis and the holocaust. By the way Serb Nationalists supported the Nazis and the Holocaust during World War II. To me there is very little difference between the Nazis of World War II and the Serb Nationalists of the Yugoslav Civil War.

In order to comment such things you should learn something before doing that. It is very easy to criticize. In my opinion the biggest problem in the world is USA government. I mean if you want support from USA (the most powerful country in the world) you need to lobby, give substantial amount of money. The winner is one who gives the most. In this particular case Serbs didn't 'send' enough money! Nowadays, I hear that a lot of European countries endorse USA attitude because they are afraid for themselves. I am afraid that was the situation in WW2 with Germany. I hope i am wrong.

Well you cannot start four wars and expect just toappologize to the Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo! This is one of the bills that came to Serbia. I am not at all surprsed with their reactions, and I do not think that anyone is surprised at the State Department. Serbia deserved this after what they did in Bosnia!

If they hadn't expected such reactions, they must had been at least naive. They practicaly amputated a sovereing country by throwing the 1999's no1244 UN resolution in the dustbin (which had clearly stressed the Serbian sovereignty over the Kosovo and Metohia autonomus province) and now they pretend to be suprised by the reactions. I cannot imagine any nation in the world that would had reacted very differently if this had happened against their sovereign country.
Of course I find very sad and I strongly condemn the assault against foreign embassies in Belgrade. Such assaults are only harmful to the same Serbian people and Serbian interests and it is exactly what their enemies wanted, so they can keep demonising a whole nation with their hateful and obvious antiSerbian propaganda. It is now, more than ever before, necesary that the Serbian government show restrain and preserve the security in the country. They shouldn't let the situation go off the rail, something that would please primarily Serbia's enemies.
The most sad thing is the radicalisation of the Serbian youth and their overwhelming participation to this violent "supernationalistic activism".
It is imperative that the west gives now, at this exact moment, a clear message to Serbia by giving them a hand of honest and sincere friendship and partnership. Maybe a decisive step towards a superfast Serbian accession in the EU would be a very wise move. Such a tactic would bring Serbia in the right course, far away from anti western stance, radicalisation and isolation. But i am not very optimistic that the EU will clearly see what it is in Europe's best interest.

The country that was the root cause of two world wars may now cause a third. Great going Serbia.

Everyone of politicians asked, and asked over again, everyone to be calm, 'cause everyone knew that every incident will be shown to the world. When the protest endend, and when to protesters start to go to the church, the prime minister came on stage and ask for calm. So... politicians went to the church with some 300 000 people, without knowing what' happening in some streets. Our politicians thought that there are reasonable people, who will respect the appeal, but there were group of some 100 people who became furious. Believe me, no one wanted to happened what was happened. We are all angry, but we know that there is campaign against Serbs, and that every wrong move is bad for us. But, that 100 people are so small in compartion with 300 000 people which were peaceful, quite, with lead men of our state, with our priests.
The shame is on the side of those who burned and broken embassies and shops.
I hope that there are enough people in the world that understand that violent protesters is not real picture of Serbia, but 300 000 good and peaceful people with Dejan Bodiroga, Novak Djokovic and Emir Kusturica that were part of protest.

The oldest civilization in Europe was in Serbia, by river Danube, the oldest letter was made in Serbia in Vincha ( by that letter later was made letter in Fenicia ),the many of great Roman emperors are borne and lived in Serbis, the Great Constantin ( if you know who is he, and why he is important for world's history ) was borne in Serbia and his residence was in Serbian city Nis, Byzantia deeply respected Serbia, and has a deep family conections, even the last Byzantian emperor were half Serb, Serbia keep the Byzantian tradition true religion and culture, Serbian kings made monasteries and churches in Kosovo which are now the monuments of middle age culture and also Byzantian. The greatest ruler of Balkan in the middle age are Serbian - tzar Dusan who conquer area of present Albania, Greece far to Atina, 'till Little Asia. Also Serbia was border between West and East, so thanks to Serbs, which stoped the Turcs, Turcs didn't conquer the western country. Tesla is Serbs, Pupin is Serb, the wife of Einstein which is helped him to made the greatest inovations is Serb, Ivo Andric writer that got the Nobel prize is Serb, Novak Djokovic is Serbs, Emir Kusrurica is Serbs. etc.
Third: Serbia was on of the first state with democracy in the middle age - with some of kind parliament, Serbia never has inquisition.
Serbia is one of the oldest state in Europe, and the world, exist much longer than USA,Albania, or some other state, and they have to past long time for being rich in cultural and historical way to be equal to Serbia.

The most important, Serbian king Alexandar was established the first antifascists organization, before II WW, and of course Serbia enjoyed the constitution of UN, but now someone try to give that away from us, as Serbia state.
If Americans or Englishman, or Croats, Frenchman, love and care so much about Albanians, why they didn't give 15% of their own states.

What all world needs to know is that this will not end well. This is not sustainable and will extinct. If you think that 2 mil Kosvars, well actually Albanians who fled Albania for Yugoslavia, to be precise Serbia, looking for a better life, wishes need to be respected, what do you think needs to be done to 12 mil of Serbian whises? Do the math, and we all know that US will always be a better friend to Christians then to "others", exception to the rule are the Jewish people, never forget that! And what is an independance if you have foreigners writing your constitution, manage your justice system, rule over your police and provide you with an army. I guess we can call that a "Kosovo (In)dependance". If you read between the lines, you'll NEVER have a state or statehood! And for that you can blame your tem allies - US and EU.

To understand Serbia's rage over loosing Kosovo you have to know and understand HISTORY. This is not a task for an average US, UK or German citizens or for most of the so called "reporters" and "journalists".
Kosovo was where the Serb nation started and the Albanians came as seasonal workers or mercenary in the Ottoman occupation administration and they never left.
Just imagine that the Mexican illegal will over-number the US citizens in California and will declare "independence"...
