The Serbs are barbarians. Serbs attack on U.S. Embassy is same as attack on U.S. soil.
Are we going to take this lyng down? Hell NO!

The Serbs have forgotten the lesson in the 90s. If we did it then, we could do it again.
Looks like we have to bomb Belgrade again to teach barbarian Serbs a lesson they won't soon forget.
We have to remind barbarian Serbs who's the boss here.

Yes the bombings were a great lesson. They should have taught more Serbs that trusting the US's oromises is dangerous. Most of the hospitals, churches, even the Holocaust Memorial and Chinese Embassy were bombed. Hospitals and churches are right up there in strategic importance only if you are waging a war of terror.

This is pretty indicative of the hopelessness in Belgrade. This is a protest that was organized by Kostunica's people and its ashame that all this energy is used in such a destructive way as Zoran so clearly points out. Its to be expected when considering the misleading propoganda that serbian leaders have used historically and presently to stir up the ultra-nationalism movement in serbia. If you can't get votes in serbia through legitimately talking about making life better overall, its common practice for serbian politicians to use the myth of Kosovo to achieve politcal ends. That was how Milosevic came to power and it will undoubtedly be the same path someone like Nikolic will follow to power. Hopefully, serbs will eventually see the light and move away from these ultra-nationalistic forces because that will be the only way to improve society and quality of life. Recognize your newest neighbor Kosovo and work towards european unity because the russian path is even more destructive than a burning embassy.

    You're a good doggie Zoran!

Good doggie zoran! Have a biscuit!

American ignorance will never cease to astound me. Truly, most of you seem to have the collective mental capacity of a bunch of genetically damaged inbreds. Maybe if you spent two seconds of your day going to non-U.S. news sites you might learn something about the world (notice I say world, because there ARE countries outside of the stupendously incredible U.S.). You then might actually UNDERSTAND what is going on in this world and you wouldn't make ignorant comments like the ones on this comment thread. Just maybe.
And Zoran, it's pleasing to see that you've lost all of your integrity as a human being by writing this kind of useless garbage for this Time wannabe of a publication. Enjoy the stint while it lasts, because you???re another puppet being served on the American news buffet as being representative of a minority of indignant Serbs (and I???m not assuming you???re a Serb, but you can bet that anyone who reads your name in association with this article will) who are simply PERPLEXED as to why their countrymen would behave in such a manner (as if the reasons aren???t obvious enough, but someone might have to spell it out for these ignorant folks). In the end, I hope you do realize you???re only being used for your south Slavic name which is of course going to lend automatic credibility to this journalistic masterpiece you???ve conjured.

Of course they'll blame the US. US fought this war on behalf of Albanians in 1999 and was the main driver behind Kosovo's independence. Mostly because Albanian lobby has invested millions of dollars into US politics since the 80s.
And as far as barbarianism goes, US bombing of Serbia in 1999 killed hundreds of civilians, some of whom were targeted on purpose (bridges with trains or scores of people on the at the time). I see using depleted uranium and cluster bombs in densely populated cities as more barbarian then setting a building ablaze. Not that those idiots in front of the US embassy were pillars of civilization or anything.

I am serbian and ashamed of what has happened today. the police should have been more prepared. i realize that people feel humiliated, wronged and bitter about the whole situation but this violence won't solve anything!!!

    To dMickey;
Current US government enjoys the lowest ever public support in the US proper.
US government not only destroys other countries on regular basis, it started to do the same to America.
So wake up and start thinking with your own head. What would you do if Texas declares independence from USA just because majority of inhabitants are Mexican?
I could see you driving the first tank to regain US sovereignty...

  • Posted By: Cannoneer2 @ 02/21/2008 8:12:53 PM

So you are saying that Russia will get involved again, thus repeating history, zorule?

  • Posted By: Nato @ 02/21/2008 8:11:22 PM

"That would have put them in diapers in 1999 when Serbia went to war with NATO over the breakaway province of Kosovo, whose declaration of independence on Feb. 17 sparked these protests."
Serbia did not declare war to NATO,, but opposite to that NATO attacked sovereign country without any declaration of war whatsoever, bypassing all international laws.
Article is single sided and inflammatory, lacking the common sense.

Most of those kids are hooligans, supporters of local football clubs (Partizan, Red Star etc.). They are always looking for fight with the police and this situation was almost ideal. Unfortunately for us, their act of destruction is main headline everywhere instead of 200 000 people marching peacfully and praying near St. Sava temple.

It's all the USA's fault. Whatever is wrong in your country, it's the USA's fault. Remember that! That way you never have to worry about holding your leaders accountable and you won't have to think for yourself. I know. It's so hard to think for yourselves. Don't you worry. Just blame that bad old USA. It's all their fault anyway. Every American everywhere is thinking of nothing but how they can cause you pain. All the time.

It is Bush's fault, stupid. So is invading Iraq for a trillion dollars and not even getting cheap oil out of it. When this sliding economy hits bottom, it will be, in fact. Bush's fault.

  • Posted By: Energizer2112 @ 02/21/2008 7:22:32 PM

Handing over Serbia's Orthodox Monastaries to Muslims and isolating 125,000 Serbs in Kosovo is the ultimate in Left Wing childishness, dum dum. This is Bush's token concession to peaceniks in the US and Europe. Idiot. Serbs in Chicago are furious, no of whom are "children".
