Oh, c'mon MSNBC. Shouldn't the article have noted that Bill Kennard was a Democrat appointed by Bill Clinton? The chair of the FCC is a politically energized position. No surprise that Kennard would criticize any letter coming from McCain that suggested that Kennard's agency was moving as slowly as molasses.

Admitting to it under oath...and denying it to teh media, is unfortunatly a lie.

  • Posted By: Repub4life @ 02/22/2008 2:57:37 PM

FlatTaxGrl , i know its complicated....but people voicing their concerns about America, IS teh American way. And you getting angry because they diagree with you does not make them unAmerican. There's one thing you seem to forget about America, we have the right to try to make our country better.

The NYT is doing its job and should continue it for ALL persons seeking and in public office. The candidates and their handlers will never agree that it is fair. Their supporters, Dems and Republicans, will scream and shout and always claim bias. REPORT, REPORT, REPORT. That is the best service the press can do for the American people.

So Socialism is a better answer? Yes.... that's always ended well. You live in a republic, not a democracy. If you don't like it, leave.

None of the major candidates for president are socialists. Perhaps you've posted to the wrong topic.

Do you know the difference between a republic and a democracy? If so, please explain how that has any bearing on the discussion at hand.

For any sane voter it is easy to see the recent muck-raking excursions of reporters and their editors have scoured every possible swamp to find something - anything - on which to base an attack on McCain's credibility - and this is all they can find. Well, we now know what they have come up with - nothing! This article proves it - but to read the headline - all that counts - one would think McCain has lied. If anyone's vote is influenced by non-facts such as this, they are being duped. I would say the same if this article was about Senators Obama or Clinton. The press needs to be more concerned about its own credibility than selling its wares. Let's see - is Newsweek a liberal publication, selling to liberal readers? I think so. Can they sell to their readers with headlines like this? Sure can! Is the press corrupt for selling headlines that have no factual basis? You be the judge of that.

Business as usual in Washington DC..Money talks and BS walks.

  • Posted By: bobrodus @ 02/22/2008 12:38:27 PM

There seems to be a lot of nothing here. So what, a senator is requesting that a business be treated fairly by our government... 800 plus days for the FCC to rule on a proposed transaction seems to be enough for an elected member of our Congress to intervene on behalf of said business. What is wrong with that? if you were buying a house and your lender took twice as long to reply to your request, you would want something done as well.

Uh, I think you missed a few things in that story. You may wnat to re-read it.

Please Hillary, make it into the whitehouse. The more I read on here the more alarming it get's. Send those guy's on their way to go play their little games somewhere else but not in the Whitehouse.

Get over it. The NYT, and now Newsweek, are clearly attempted to discredit McCain with innuendoes or at the very least dig up ???something???, true or untrue, real or imagined, that could stir the pot. ???Unnamed sources???, ???campaign members worried about an affair???, he said she said; dissecting and examining every word to identify ???holes???. Can you remember exactly what you said and who you said it to five years ago? Real soap opera material. Must not be anything else to report.

I don???t know McCain personally, but from what I read, and heard from the media (with the exception of you), he is an honorable man with the utmost integrity that has devoted his entire life to this country. Moreover, nearly his entire life has been under the scrutiny of the public eye. And you puke out innuendoes that can???t be backed up.

I would like to see a character debate between the candidates. There is no doubt in my mind; McCain has the rest of them beat hands down! The only exception may be Barack Obama, and that is because he has no resume to scrutinize.

Pathetic. You lost my business and I truly hope you lose more. Clean up your act.

To all you Rush listeners.... A couple weeks ago Rush told his audience (Upset about Romney pulling out of race) not to worry, just wait for things to play out. Did not Rush just get done with a week's broadcast in New York? Be careful at who you point the finger at on this one!

This all just seem atypical in today's politicians. It they aren't having inappropriate contact with aids, selling arms to the enemy, taking a stock option deal on the side, then they are tapping feet under a bathroom stall. Aren't there any moral and respect worthy politicians out there? How can a guy forget what he said during a deposition? And private jet flights with a highly attractive lobbyist? Seems highly suspect to me. Mark my prediction: the next words out of his mouth will be "I did not have sexual intercourse with that woman..." It all boils down to one thing; honest, respectable men would not even let themselves get in these situations in the first place. This clearly displays what kind of poor judgment McCain is capable of. Tisk, tisk....

BTW. Atypical means "not typical", the opposite of what I think you meant.

  • Posted By: Repub4life @ 02/22/2008 2:52:27 PM

Why did McCain feel he had to lie? Telling the truth would have been much more preferable, especially since he's admitted to things underoath.

  • Posted By: peter.hayden @ 02/22/2008 2:52:07 PM

?????? What's this in a news story? Is it or isn't it? NY Times was questioned about the timing of this story and stated that they print thier stories when they are ready. It appears this story is not ready for publication as "news" but belongs in some gossip column. Shame on our media.

  • Posted By: SandyCitizen @ 02/22/2008 2:47:25 PM

It doesn't appear that we will have viable candidates to select from for President. McCain doesn't appear to be able to tell the truth and Obama doesn't appear to have any substance behind his rhetoric! True policitians BOTH!

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 02/22/2008 2:52:07 PM

Both Obama and McCain are capable. But Obama is a uniter, not a divider. McCain is way to old and compromised.

  • Posted By: Repub4life @ 02/22/2008 2:51:29 PM

Why di McCain feel teh need to Lie?

  • Posted By: afitzho @ 02/22/2008 2:48:40 PM

This is just another reason why we need to elect Obama president and begin moving forward with the great American recovery!!!!!

    • Posted By: Johnsonium @ 02/22/2008 2:50:40 PM

Exactly. Hilary talks about experience. Well, more experience means more time to get corrupted by big money politics, as McCain demonstrates.
