    Mr Obama has already has his murky lobbyist/donator issue. an issue which has been neatly swept under the media rug. At least Mccain has received no direct benefit from this issue if it is an issue at all. The NYT obviously has a lefty liberal/Democratic orientation and their goals are to further this doctrine. I just consider the source which has not been the bastion of integrity in its reporting practices as evidenced by several incidents of false or unsubstantiated reporting by members or former members of its staff. the fact that this is a third party story on an issue that occured many years ago should color its relevance to the election of 6 years later. oh I forgot about the whole lewinsky /blue dress/cigar/i never had sexual relations....blah blah blah.....oh democratic president in that case...and these folks have the nerve to talk about infidelity.

    "A Hole in McCains's Defense" is an example of abuse by the media; similar to propaganda in a communist country. It is an attempt to select a president for the people based on the the media's choice, rather than responsible reporting allowing Americans to form their own opinions rather than have a media choice shoved down throats daily. If the media is going to report negative statements on one McCain and Hillary then they should follow suit with Obama. Everyday either on the news or in print one hears negative reports on Clinton or McCain but never on Obama, and why is this? It is obvious which canidate the media has selected to be president but as long as America is free I'll make my own decision on whom I vote for. Rehashing ancient events such as the ones that have been published about McCain are redundant and poor reporting.

    All I have to say is, "Whatever"! Man...the dark side is really scrapping to find any kind of dirt. Well folks...McCain can't be bought! It's called integratey, and he has it. Why question this benign 'cancer' that the Dem's would love to spread! Support McCain....in your words, with your time, with prayer, and with your funds! I have been since 2000.     Michael Isikoff's story here does not shed any more light on the New York Times allegations of McCain doing anything improper, either in his professional or personal life. This story simply shows that McCain remembered 6 years ago speaking with a guy and his campaign this year, got it wrong and said he had not spoken with him. Big Deal. Nothing Illegal here. Next useless Liberal story---

    It seems that the time for mud slinging has arrived and it is McCain's turn to be outside the barrell!

    Can we please return to the issue at hand which is the election of a suitable candidate for the presidency and avoid media "hype" of this kind.

    Clinton sexually abused 3 women and nobody cares??? I am getting older, but wasn't he impeached over consentual sex. (btw, that his sex life doesn't really cost me any tax dollars. Of course other than the 60 million spent on proving that he actually did have oral sex)

    The story is about McCain's aides thinking that this relationship could be seen as a conflict of interest, which it appears that McCain might agree with. Nothing more, nothing less. You folks think that liberals think like you. Believe it or not you, we can actually get to the heart of the conversation and then think for ourselves.

    No wonder this administration can hold onto power.
