    As a Jew living in Israel I do follow the elections in the US, our greatest partner and friend. However, I am emabarrssed tp read this article as you, the American people should only be concerned in a president who is good for the USA. Anything else is less important and even shameful. I wish you all lost of success in choosing a worthy candidate.

      As a Christian, living in America I can tell you that we support lawfull countries whose governments care for their people on an equal, non-discriminatory basis without regard for race. There is no blanket support for those who declare themselves friends of the US and yet kill and destro the livliehoods of others for no valid reasons.

      I do not se how it could be shameful to wish for good relations between 2 countries. The US and Syria, for example. Or the UK and India. Beacause, at the end of the day, it's pretty hard to believe that God has an up-to-date map of the borders of the 'countries' of the World. And even if he did, there are always areas where it is impossible to tell where one country begins and another ends. America is a friendly country. So in the spirit of friendship I would ask why doesn't Israel reign in it's military?

        B. The premise of your question, that ???Israel???s military needs reigning in??? is not correct. There is a theory known as ???the big lie???: told long enough and people start to believe it. That is probably the source of your confusion.

      If Israel "falls" America is right behind it. The Mohammidans would be unstoppable. It is real irony that Jew haters have only Israel in the way of America being targeted and taken over by Muhammidans; Resulting in a burqa on all American women. Mohammidans would bring honor killing, women as chattel, public hangings of gays, public stoning of women if their husband feels suspicious, and many other fine customs; including loss of free speech: what we have left of the right to criticize Islam. Yes, real irony how bad Jew haters, Jew lovers, atheist, agnostics, and Christians need a strong and successful Israel.

      So you see, as an American living in America, A strong Israel is in Americas best interest.

        I go through life full of hate for saying Clintonites are getting desperate? You obviously have no clue what hate is and I suggest you look it up in a dictionary; or www.webster.com. In any case I reserve the right to support either Clinton or Obama. Supporting one does not make me a hater of the other.

        I supported Bill Clinton through out his run against Bush Snr and Bob Dole. Does that make me a hater of Bush and Dole? I suggest you grow up or get a life and quit making asinine assertions.

Suppose I had said Obama supporters are getting desperate? Think of your "analysis"... you are way off mark. Obama has consistently voted in favor of Israel [related] motions in the US senate. Note I did not say Jewish related??? apparently because foot soldiers like you think Jew/Jewish is a protected trademark

            Obviously, election year sound bite manipulation has suddenly made Obama an enemy of Isreal. By the way I wouldn't bother to post here [or any site for that matter] if there is a warning indicating "dissent not tolerated"

    Desperate times call for desperate measures. Sen. Obama is a friend to Isreal. If the Clintons run foreign policy like they have run for President- We will all be less safe esp. Isreal.

      Tatajama3: No I do not agree with your analysis; I think at best Obama is closest to Neville Chamberlain and is a naive appeaser who believes if we just talk to our enemies (Iran et al) we can understand one another and all be friends; which is of course delusional. At worst???well I hope he is not elected.

    Is Obama good for France? Or the UK what is it with this fake American Israel thing. Countries need to behave responsible towards all their citizens and we should judge them on their record of human rights and their bahaviour towards their neighbours. Just because AIPAC is a lobbying group doesn't mean that we should ever favor any nation that discriminates against it's own citizens, or indeed attempts to ruin it's neighbours. That goes against everythin we stand for in this country, and indeed against humanity.

    For the record, Farrakhan criticized Israel's political and military practices against Palestinians not the religion of Judaism. Newsweek, Michael Hirsh and Dan Ephron should know this.

CHICAGO - Political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko should remain behind bars because there is still a danger that he will flee to avoid his upcoming fraud trial, federal prosecutors told an appeals court Friday.

    The 52-year-old real estate developer and fast-food magnate is a naturalized U.S. citizen but has retained his Syrian nationality, prosecutors said in a 22-page brief filed with the appeals court.

    Rezko, who has been a major fundraiser for Sen. Barack Obama and Gov. Rod Blagojevich, is asking the appeals court to free him from the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he has been held since Jan. 28

    I didnt know Brzezinski was an Obama adviser. He was very critical of Israel against Hezbollah. If I were Jewish , I definetly would not vote for Obama.
