If you want to preach history, maybe you should learn it. Most of the things that happened during Carter's administration were a result of the lacking administrations of Nixon and Ford. The economy was already in bad shape, inflation was already rising and most of this was due to policies instated by past presidents.See that's the thing about Presidencies, how your term goes depends on how badly the past administrations screwed up. The american public will blame you, because you're president, but if the situation is already past salvation...there is little you can do. 4 years is not enough time to recover a nation. 4 years isn't enough time to destroy a nation. It's the accumulative 4 year terms of horrible presidents that ruin this country. So WHOEVER takes office during a bad time, will have alot of work ahead of them and can't personally be blamed. Hilary , Obama or Mcain will have alot of garbage to clean up and will be critisized every step of the way....history has shown us that.

It's reasons and comments like this why I opt not to read newsweek on a regular basis! Clinton is by far the better candidate.
I am going to be happy with a democrat in office no matter what, but here's a thought to ponder...

While I firmly believed in the need for afirmative action, isn't it rather ridiculous to apply it to President of the United States?

Hillary's camp just proved my long stated point. The Sen. is not what he appears to be. Play Clinton hardball. So what if she gets called names. Can't call her a mohammed though. Make him answer to his voting record of present. Not a very passionate lawmaker with that record, ALL RHETORIC and flash. Make witty comment about his Elvis like attraction to simple-minded girls. Ask him why he seems offended by pictures of his mohammed warlord indoctination ceremony. Make sure that the comments made about military supplies brought forward. But the sure fire kill is an eloquent discussion of meeting with terrorist heads of state appears to be almost radical Islamic acceptence.

Better go for the kill, cause the GOP machine is foaming at the mouth for their chance.
