For all the people who support Hillary Clinton, PLEASE go to her website (hillaryclinton.com) and donate what you can to her campaign. I agree with so many of you regarding this article, but the real action is to give her the amunition to compete and defeat!!

Nader is disgusting. His only purpose is to allow Repugs to win elections and then he is escorted to his room ready to be called out again by the Repugs as "insurance". Again, why doesn't he support a 3rd party congressional movement?

There is nothing wrong in advising Hilary to quit in dignity and grace. I was her supporter until Thursday night but changed my mind irrevocably when she evaded two important questions. First, she was asked if she thought she was wrong for voting against the Iraq troop surge and it now seems to e working???would she now admit she had made a mistake? She went on and on and never answered the question.
The second question was about earmarks, of which she seems to be one of the heaviest spenders. She supplied an ???answer??? that was totally unrelated to the question. Hello, Hilary? You spent $343 million of taxpayers??? money and you did not think we voters needed to know what your rationale for spending that money was or that we are not intelligent enough to see you are taking us for a ride.
On the other hand, Mr. Obama admitted that the troop surge seems to have reduced violence in Iraq, and gave the world the reference to where to find information about his earmark spending.
I suddenly realized that Hilary???s behavior in that debate is actually a pattern. As much as I yearn for answers, I still don???t know if she admits she made a mistake for voting for the Iraq war. What is she hiding? What does she seem perpetually allergic to the truth? Is being smart and a fighter one and same with evasiveness?
I also became angry at how I had been duped by the press all this time. The questioners did not insist that she provided an answer and just let her get away with these two important questions. Frankly, even Hilary???s campaign manager cannot do more if you got her to moderate the debate. It was a shame that CNN would supervise such a sham.
Up until that time, I had rationalized her words and actions on the basis of political exigency, but Hilary is now way past the threshold of acceptable political attack in any situation, much more so when it is against an opponent from your own party.
I will shortly make a donation to Mr. Obama???s campaign.

You couldn't have been watching the same debate as me...I feel (and it is my opinion) you have it the complete opposite of what came out of that debate and it is too bad. She had all of the answers and Barack sitting so quietly beside her had absolutely none as usual. He copied her whenever it was his turn to answer and never answered a single question with a definitive plan behind it. Little anecdotes and retelling stories from 2003 as the one he told about the Lt he met in Iraq, blah, blah, blah without guns and bullets, people were laughing at that, since he met the guy in 2003, and the man never stated he did not have guns or bullets. Besides that, has anyone ever asked Barack what he did to help if he really did get this remark made to him? A Lt without guns and bullets...shouldn't he have alerted someone to do something with this unit? He didn't because it is a total fairy-tale, that's why. But of course, journalists are not digging deeper into this total farce he presented as an answer to the question of iraq the other night.

So many "um-m-m-m- and little stories to get us all off the question...he's a b/s artist to me... Blame the media for that one though. Do some research on your own, stop listening to the biased journalists with their unsaid truths about him and story selling headlines like the one above that is trying to convince you to vote their way or no way. What are we now in America? Slaves to the media? Now they can tell us who to vote for by eliminating facts and putting up fiction? Do some research into voting records, backgrounds, dig a bit deeper and hopefully you will realize that screaming headlines and vulgar and unfair journalism practices can not sway you either way. Then once you get to the polls, and either way you vote, by doing all of the homework (and that takes more than watching a debate) you will feel like you made a well educated and informed decision...not one dicated to you by the newspapers and media outlets.

Can you believe the sheer disgust and audacity in how the media..esp CNN and MSNBC has treated this woman? What is wrong with these morons? Where am I in hell? No, really, am I? Hello?

I can not believe this ***, day after day after day...that is going on in the US in the 21st century. People need to tell the media hounds to shut up and wise up...and learn who these people/candidates really are about, not their over exaggerated reps. Stop acting as if this is Algezeer television or however it's spelled. Obama is pragmatic, and not even good enough to be touted as such...I can speak better than him, This is a joke to say the least. WAke the hell up fellow Americans. Stop being pandered by not so equipped somatics because you think it's all about you and what you think you need. Grow up

I actually agree with you! I admire Hillary because I think she's a terrifically strong woman. But, it would stem the flow of criticism and make her stronger and more graceful if she quit now. She has to do what is best for the country, and right now, Obama seems to unite voters more than she does.

Even though I would be terribly dissapointed if Hillary does not get the nomination, this could be the beginning of something constructive. This close contest has sparked political interest and people are going to the polls. Americans are finally getting tired of the oil companies ripping us off at the gas pump, we're tired of being led into unwanted wars and being lied to about weapons of mass destruction, we're tired of losing jobs oversees, and we need assured of social security benefits. The governement provides assistance for Toyota....why not GM and Ford? These are all issues and decisions made my your congressmen, senators, and presidents. It seems as though as people are becoming increasingly aware of these issues and hopefully we will start to hold our elected officials accountable. I personally am a registered democrat. I support the democratic party because of social programs that are designed to support lower and middle class. I have heard many people say that they are Republican because of the moral values. No one can show me any factual evidence that cites one party having more moral convictions than the other. The point is, is that the Bush Administration has been disasterous. If people would've became involved and paid attention, he would not have been elected a second term. Regardless of who is elected as our next president, if their first four years sucks, don't expect the next four to be any better.

JUST PAY ATTENTION TO ONE OF THE DIFFRENCES BETWEEN THE TWO. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN FORCED TO BUY SOMETHING YOU MAY NOT PARTICULARLY BE ABLE TO AFFORD? IT DOESNT FEEL SO GOOD. I AM ALL FOR HEALTHCARE FOR EVERYONE HOWEVER LETS MAKE IT AFFORDABLE AND THEN LET IT BE AN OPTION. IT SHOULD NOT EVER BE MANDATORY AFFORDABLE YES BUT NOT MADATED. LOOK AT THIS POINT YOU WILL PAY A FINE IF YOU DONT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE UNDER CLINTONS PLAN AFTER 3 TIMES OF NOT HAVING IT YOU WILL THEN GO TO JAIL. SO IF YOU CANT AFFORD HEALTH INSURANCE YOU THEN GET AN ADDITIONAL BILL TO PAY GREAT! THEN YOU MAY LOSE YOUR JOB BECAUSE YOUR IN JAIL THEN WHAT ITS A DOMINIO EFFECT YOU CANT FORCE AMERICAN TO DO THAT. JUST MAKE IT AVAILABLE LIKE UNDER OBAMA HE SAID HE WILL LOWER THE COST THERE FOR IF YOU WANT IT ITS AVAILABLE FOR YOU............ THINK ...

You must be young. don't remember 1993.. Obama plan is the old promises of the Republican plan. His words are there words.. it is the same old song and dance. It doesn't sound any better coming from him! Social Security is mandated.. thank God! Medicare is mandated..again thank God! To have true universal health care you can give these special interest a loop hole! It has to be as mandated as those other two!

This is right on the money. Overlearning our New Hampshire lesson is exactly what is happening here. If Obama were down this far there would be outraged demands by Dem insiders for him to drop out. Yet, somehow she gets firewall after firewall and the media lets her get away with it. And they say that Obama has the media wrapped around his finger. geesh!

CLINTON SUPPORTERS, band together and vote for MCCAIN if Obama is the nominee. We need EXPERIENCE in the White House, not someone on training wheels. Like Andrew Young said, Obama should be president, but not until 2012. In the meantime Obama can get some training and experience. All talk and no action!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: franwells @ 02/25/2008 9:37:36 PM

My sentiments precisely. As a life-long activist democrat, I would be willing to help organize "Women for McCain". Jonathan Alter - you need to look for a different line of work.

    • Posted By: Gemstone @ 02/25/2008 9:33:19 PM

With 46% of the delegates still up for grabs and the polls showing Hillary winning way more of them then Obama put with the fact that Florida and Michigan will have to be seated...American Democrats won't allow anything else and finally the super delegates know who would make the best President! IT all points to Hillary Clinton and away from Senator Obama. Just keep working and supporting her! GIVE< GIVE>GIVE sheis 24/7

  • Posted By: charleymcgee @ 02/25/2008 9:37:33 PM

THE ONE WORD YOU USED GRACEFULLY DOES NOT APPLY TO HILLARY. SHE IS NOT GRACEFUL AND SHE IS NOT A WOMAN OR A LADY...SHE IS FEMALE AND THATS ALL. AT THAT I AM GIVING HER THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. SHE LOOKS AWFUL... SHE CERTAINLY HAS AGED JUST IN THIS CAMPAIGN. WHEN YOU LIE IT TELLS ON YOUR FACE. SHE IS ALSO WAY TOO OLD TO BE PRESIDENT. SHE IS MY AGE AND THAT IS FAR TO OLD.. WE NEED SOME YOUNG BLOOD IN THAT OFFICE. WE HAVE HAD THESE OLD F**** FAR TOO LONG.

bdm_politics: FINALLY someone who gets it! Obama is just as much a politician as Hillary. We just don't know him as well. As a citizen of Illinois, I have seen his voting record. When you compare the two, although they are much the same, the differences are telling. I am sick and tired of EVERY politician, both Republican and Democrat, saying and doing whatever it takes to get elected and to keep their positions. They seldom DO anything they promised. The Democrats are in power, why are we blaming Hillary for voting to go to war? Why not ask WHY we are still at war - they did gain the majority because they promised to get us out of the war, right? NONE OF THEM DO WHAT THEY SAY, MEAN WHAT THEY SAY, OR SAY WHAT THEY REALLY BELIEVE! All we hear is blah, blah, blah, politically correct crap. And the media would love to choose our next president before we even vote. The whole mess makes me sick. We need politicians who care about America and her people. Universal health care sounds great coming from all of these rich politicians. They can afford the very best insurance and health care. We worry about whether Social Security will even be around when we retire (and they haven't done anything about THAT either). They don't have to worry about it. After serving in the Senate they don't have to worry about their retirement. And who pays for that? Hmmm...our tax dollars? Oh yeah, and all these free things they're promising to get elected. Who pays for that? Ready for the big tax increase that will be coming (if they do what they say they're going to do). Never mind. That probably won't happen!!! I'm still waiting for someone to run who wants to work WITH the other party and come to an agreement (compromise - ever heard that word, Senators?). Look at Hillary's and Barrack's voting records. When they do differ, seldom as it may be, that is pretty revealing. At least Hillary doesn't always vote with her "side" - sometimes she seems to actually think about it and try to do what's right. Obama votes straight party nearly always. In other words, he'd rather "win" by voting no than to work with the other ELECTED OFFICIALS to come to an agreement that would benefit our country. And that has gotten us nowhere. I say wipe the entire slate clean and start all over again. I have never been so disgusted with politics and with our elected officials. The media are just their personal paid P.R.

I was one of the thousands of Hillary until shortly before the Florida Primary, when she pledged to get our democratic delegates reinstated....I saw through that last minute announcement....the fact that she was acting as an advocate for the voters in Florida...PISH! None of the democratic candidates stood up to the DNC on the issue of disenfranchising the voters of their own party in Florida and Michigan. That was the turning point for me. I voted for Obama that day, and have actively campaigned for him ever since. This Saturday, we will be caucussing in florida to elect our delegates to the conention. I will be there to support the Obama delegates in my district(Duval County was won by Obama). Hillary really should give up at this point....if she should hope to be on (the bottom half of) the Democratic ticket.

Also can I say, don't blame newsweek, blame this lame ass journalist Jonathon Altar.

  • Posted By: teddyc @ 02/25/2008 9:35:55 PM

I completely disagree. Has anyone looked where Obama has picked up his delegates? Does the term "red
states" ring a bell? Mr. Alter suggests that Clinton should drop out of the race and endorse Mr. Obama..
What states that he has won in the primaries does Mr. Alter think Obama could carry in the general election?
Strange year, Mc Lain getting his delegates from "blue states' and Obama getting his from the states Republicans traditionally carry. Shame on the respective party committees for giving us a choice of candidates that cant carry the states that gave them the delegates to win their nominations......better to leave the media out of it and return to the "smoke filled rooms"

Hi, you suck. If Hilary Clinton drops out she loses all chances of winning any election, she'll be a quitter, she'll have nothing left but to live in the own shadow of her failure, for not even trying. A quitter. I will be voting on Nov. 11, though I am not sure who, I believe Hilary Clinton has a chance. These are polls, they don't include all of the democrats and theres enough that don't participate to make a large difference. Please keep your lousy opinion to yourself when you hear me say, Hilary Clinton will try to the end, she isn't a quitter, she'll hold strong and bring victory, if not in the democratic election, to herself. She tried, and she is the first potential female president.

Oh and I'd also like to say, I signed up just to comment on this load of bull *** you put up. You're a failure as a journalist.

We here in dum dum land who did not drink the Obama kool aid actually wanted someone who does more than make women faint and talk pretty. But You are CORRECT sir: a difference of 100 delegates is such a HUGE difference that Clinton should ignore the millions of voters still out there who want their voices heard. I am so thankful the new savior Obama has a great prophet like you to show us the way. HALLELUIAH PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

Why should Hillary quit? It is possible for her to win, especially since she is the better candidate.
If the press wasn't having such a hands off love fest with Obama maybe people would see the Truth.
Why has the press been so good to him while they did a hatchet job on her?
I say fight to the end because there are a lot of people who want Hillary to be the next president.
