I am just disgusted by all the "Disillusioned, Ill-fated" people in this great nation of ours!!! We need a "President,??? not a "Presenter"!!! If you think I'm talking about electing Hillary, I'm not! Nor am I speaking of McCain, which his next appearance, after the election, should be in "Tales of the Crypt"!!! For those of you that don't believe in the "False Messiah," then vote for Obama and see where it takes you!!! Obviously, true Christians are rare and only "FOOLS" will vote for the "Anti-Christ"!!! Go ahead, slam me all you want! But when all is said and done, "OBAMANITES" will flounder!!! Unfortunately, so will the rest of us!!!!!!

Obama, Clinton, and McCain have similar numbers with regard to how many times they've recently been present for a senate vote.

Hi, you suck. If Hilary Clinton drops out she loses all chances of winning any election, she'll be a quitter, she'll have nothing left but to live in the own shadow of her failure, for not even trying. A quitter. I will be voting on Nov. 11, though I am not sure who, I believe Hilary Clinton has a chance. These are polls, they don't include all of the democrats and theres enough that don't participate to make a large difference. Please keep your lousy opinion to yourself when you hear me say, Hilary Clinton will try to the end, she isn't a quitter, she'll hold strong and bring victory, if not in the democratic election, to herself. She tried, and she is the first potential female president.

Finally I have found others that have noticed the same trend as I have. Today's journalists and media networks have supported their own candidates and cater to them. In other words, today's news is bias and self-serving. I wish that we would have investigative journalism that tells it like it is, supporting no one or issue. Then and only then we can make our own well-informed decisions. I am from Texas and I support the experienced Clinton whom has been more forthcoming and honest in her actions and words.

Barrack (sp) since it is seldom used, has been in the Senate for 3 years and proposes change. Change can be good but if he should win, who is going to be in his cabinet? Will it be people with less experience than him or more. It has often been said that it is easier to "CHANGE" a system from within than from the outside. Has he been inside long enough to know the changes needed or are the change he is proposing what is best for AMERICA or best for Obama?

    • Posted By: TruthTeller1989 @ 02/25/2008 9:33:36 PM

Mr. Obama has been MY senator for less than one full term, and I can tell you that he has done NOTHING for my state. The only thing he has done right is to frequently follow the lead of his senior senator, Mr. Durbin, who fortunately is a good senator. Otherwise he has been essentially campaigning for the presidential office from day one of his "service" to the State of Illinois.

You Obamatrons are foolish. Please visit Detroit and then say what black leadership will do for this country. Detroit imploded under black leadership and has never been able to recover. Is that what you want for America?

There is nothing wrong with Hillary being angry about him spreading misconceptions regarding her platform!

Hillary is the most intelligent and qualified candidate.

    • Posted By: swdemocratforchange @ 02/23/2008 8:33:15 PM

If that's not racist, then I don't know what is!!! Black leadership did not cause Detroit to implode!!!! Hillary has spread huge amounts of misconceptions about Senator Obama and she's angry because she's lost 11 straight primaries in a row & the superdelegates are moving away from her, just like most reasonable voters. Hillary isn't the most intelligent, but she's slick , the way Bill taught her to be!!!!

      • Posted By: laurenmort @ 02/25/2008 9:32:48 PM

Ahhh, here it rears it's head at last. Just what makes him less intelligent? His race? Try studing history. Examine what the ancients like Aristotle, Herodutus("father of history") and Viturvius Polio thought about the black race before you spout your ignorance. It's galling that veiled racism or not so well veiled racism is insinuating it's way into the campaign. I AM ashamed and disappointed at what I'm seeing.

Obama isn't black. He's is 50% white.. 44% Arab, and 6% African. He has pretended to be black (African American) his entire adult life, but it simply isn't true.

    • Posted By: davtx @ 02/23/2008 4:29:45 PM

Are you saying that the auto manufacturing jobs going to canada and mexico (under NAFTA) doen't have anything to do with the implosion of Detroit?

    • Posted By: jkh5804 @ 02/23/2008 4:22:05 PM

That's about the most disgusting comment I've heard in this campaign. As an Obama supporter, I'm confident Hillary too intelligent to embrace your support. Do her a favor and endorse John McCain.

soccersteve5 wrote: "Where did you hear that Obama refuses to salute the American Flag??"

It was a big news story -- Obama didn't put his hand over his heart at a campaign event and there was a picture of him that accompanied the article.

He had more than one explanation, the first one being that he didn't know he was supposed to, etc. It's actually a law but nobody is going to get arrested if they don't, obviously. But the point was that he's a candidate for president and he should have known better.

He also refuses to wear an American flag pin. Really, he's not being very smart about these details. It's not that much skin off his nose to do these simple, respectful things --and it's really expected of someone who is wanting to hold the highest office of this land, being one who sets an example for the rest of us.

I'm not happy that his CAMPAIGN PEOPLE have used the MARKETING PLOY of having him pooh-pooh various things as "silly" and "trivial" and "she misspoke" instead of Obama taking it on the chin for having made mistakes that have caused concern. I would have had more respect for him if he had just admited he did something wrong. Again, he's raising trust issues. I don't trust him.

Absolutely NO ONE in the political arena is there without dirt under their fingernails. The media has failed us with their lack of investigation of Obama and failure to hold him to the same standards as the other candidates.

Obama's lead is not that great. This has been an unusual rollercoaster of a race. For her to jump out now would be a foolish move. She should stay in until she is 100% certain she is not going to win. It's still too close. I heard someone on the news saying something like, "Why didn't the Giants quit in the Superbowl when they were down a touchdown to the Patriots?" It's the same principle.

Obama has 1,192. Clinton has 1,036. The winner needs 2,025. Thus, Newsweek thinks Clinton should quit.

Using Newsweek's way of thinking; the N. Y. Giants should have quit at halftime of the Super Bowl.

    • Posted By: eabg_22 @ 02/25/2008 9:29:42 PM

no, using newsweeks theory they should have dropped out after they beat Dallas

  • Posted By: CGmasterchief22 @ 02/25/2008 9:29:26 PM

I think a good old fashion convention is just what the party needs. It will demonstrate how open the party operates and we will all witness politics in a way that has been missing for decades. I know party loyalists do not want a big convention floor fight. But without it, we are nothing more than a rubber stamp (like the Republican Party) that will have little imagination until election day.

HILLARY ON HEALTHCARE = HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT
YOU ALL SHOULD WATCH MICHAEL MOORE'S DOCUMENTARY ON HEALTHCARE!
SCREW GEORGE BUSH! SCREW THE REPUBLICANS!!!

    • Posted By: TruthTeller1989 @ 02/25/2008 9:29:26 PM

      Amen to that!!!!

  • Posted By: truthprevails @ 02/25/2008 9:29:13 PM

Mr Alter, this race is NOT over! I am supporting Huckabee, on the long shot that we will not have a winner until the Republican convention floor, and I find it amusing that you would dare to suggest that Hillary should just hang it up at this point!! What about the democratic process!?! It is obvious that your motive is to impose your wishes on the outcome, rather than deliver any form of impartial reporting. Not a pretty sigh.! I'm surprised Newsweek continues to allow you the platform for such tainted musings . . .

  • Posted By: lodmi @ 02/25/2008 9:25:40 PM

    Very intelligent.
Unfortunately - that hysterical old wpman would not understand.
    No class.
Also - no quality ti lead, just hunger for power. Does it important?

She better go, the earlier - the better.

I apologize for all ugly comments here. Disgrace.

    • Posted By: Gemstone @ 02/25/2008 9:28:36 PM

you are laughable! 46% of delegates still in play and the polls show Hillary taking more then Obama! no way is it over and this moron knows it. Were not going to bite and nor is Hillary! We will elect our own President thank you very much Newsweek!

  • Posted By: giants24 @ 02/25/2008 9:28:21 PM

Johnathan Alter proves the point made on saturday night live about the obama bias. Hillary is no where near the same predicament of guilaiani. So obama has won a bunch of sall states. who won new york, california, new jersey and arizon. do you really think democrats will win idahoe or south dakota or for that matter south carolina? no mr. alter you should quit for being so unprofessional in your job.

  • Posted By: getout @ 02/25/2008 9:16:54 PM

Hillary should quit and finally do the job she was elected to do years ago. She has done nothing for New York State, including upstate New York, where she claims she was instrumental in the revitalization. Upstate New York is anything but revitalized.
She keeps claiming experience. Where? What does she have experience of?

    • Posted By: eabg_22 @ 02/25/2008 9:28:13 PM

Not true. she brought back more than 300 million in pork!

  • Posted By: bigmacsmama @ 02/25/2008 9:28:06 PM

Hillary Clinton???s actions and statements as of late are typical of someone desperately trying to hang on. Her frustration is coming through loud and clear and it???s not helping her campaign at all. Barack Obama has remained consistent and steadfast in his policy statements, and his defenses against political enemies remain generic and specifically designed to point out the errors in their attacks. This is the kind of calm, thoughtful response we want from a president at this time in our nation???s history, especially after the knee-jerk Bush administration. Senator Obama will continue to maintain the calm and confidence of a candidate who has nothing to hide and everything to offer. Senator Clinton will dig her own political grave.

With regard to the picture of Senator Obama dressed in native Kenyan attire--anyone who wants to believe and promote that picture as an indication that he is Muslim isn???t someone who would vote for him anyway. And I wonder...if he were Muslim, would that make a difference for his supporters? His lifetime of achievements characterize him, not his choice of religion (which happens to be Christianity).
