Get your REAL UNBIASED NEWS from: www.npr.org where no one has a personal agenda like Alter and his fellow Harvard buddy, Barack Obama.

Want to hear what the long-time true American advocate has to say about this election? Listen to Ralph Nader's interview on NPR. Too bad the American people have never taken any of his bids for presidency seriously. Now THAT really WOULD require us to make an educated decision. (Notice I didn't say "college-educated" decision. There are a TON of REALLY INTELLIGENT people who have not gone to college.)

Miss Clinton needs to go Home and be a house wife, do some serious washing of your dirty laundry, maybe even try to grow some vegetables in garden and leave the White House responsibilities to the MEN (Mr. Obama) to run. She has no business running for president. My, My what would our Founding Fathers think of this. Men started running this Wonderful country of ours and they should finish till time runs out and we all know that time only goes on and on. You have my vote Mr. Obama!!!

    • Posted By: BigSexy1 @ 02/25/2008 8:28:09 PM

Our founding fathers were probably much more respecting of women than you, sir.

I blame that idiot Oprah for this mess we are in. She should've just butted out of politics. Whatever ever happend to that sandal surrounding that school she was running in Africa? Believe me, that will resurface again as soon as Hillary "accepts defeat". She's trying to pitch Obama like she pitches a book to the NY Times Best Seller list. she is a fanatic and her followers are cultist.

    • Posted By: lastjournaliststanding @ 02/25/2008 8:27:58 PM

so oprah has given us the following frauds: Dr. Phil, who does NOT possess a medical degree, so he is a fake doctor. James Frey, and his book A Million Pieces (?), who FABRICATED his biographical book. and now Obama. Who ALSO has a fabricated book that he sold as non-fiction. He himself says this, not me. So Oprah might need to re-think ......

    • Posted By: TruthTeller1989 @ 02/25/2008 8:10:46 PM

Thank you for pointing out the considerable role Oprah is playing in all of this. How appropriate is it for a talk show host to be choosing the next president? That, by the way, is exactly what she is doing. And as she cannot even manage to adequately check into the background of an author she is plugging, perhaps she should leave the presidency to the American voters.

I think the media should stop what they are doing. Each article that is printed is like a blatant attempt to sway thinking. In some case they have the delegate count 95 apart and 90 still uncommitted. Plus all the future primaries. How can you say it is not possible to be a competitive race at this point? The arguement about the super delegates is an odd one also. Ok- I am hearing that the superdelegates have an obligation to vote with the state/district they live in. Okay if that is true-- then arent we saying they are simply DELEGATES. If they are to go with the popular vote-- then there is no difference between a delegate and a superdelegate. The whole point is they are to be educated people with special standing in the party . They are to vote based on their own knowledge of the political arena. That is the point. I wish someone would talk about it. I really do. If the superdelegates push the candidate over-- well the problem is not with them- its with the system. Take it up with the Democratic Party after election.

HILLARY!!! DON'T QUIT - DON'T QUIT - DON"T QUIT!!! HEY! "FOROURFREEDOM"! ...you can avoid the strain of having to put on your "nice" face every time you're in front of the camera. Go back to your sullen, back stabbing ways and your emotionally empty life with your sham of a marriage." - Maybe YOU should get back to YOU'RE emotionally unstable life and you're sham of a marriage (if anyone would have your negative @ss!! Do us ALL a favor and SHUT UP AND COLOR!!! You KNOW what's good for this country but you're such a PIG you can't see beyond your jock strap! BTW, I can tell by you're post you've GOT to be a MAN! Don't be afraid... a woman really can teach you a thing or two and that sounds like just the cure for you!!! Maybe if you had been taught a few lessons in respect for women growing up you wouldn't such a disrespectful and bitter man (I use that term loosely!!). I'll bet you drive a HUGE truck too don't you?

  • Posted By: jee @ 02/25/2008 7:50:46 PM

Hillary should never quit.. we don't need what some say is a muslin for president. and obama is just a big mouth, do nothing but talk man. he will be worse then we have now and if the news media and the talk shows get enough people to vote for him and he wins, I will vote for McCain. and McCain is a corbon copy of what we have now. people should wake up and stop showing they can once again vote for a man that will take us down to nothing.

    • Posted By: sannuma @ 02/25/2008 8:26:51 PM

PLEASE! Obama is NOT a Muslim... and whats wrong with them anyway? Just because a handful of the 1.5 billion are acting bad, doesnt mean they are all bad. thats like saying all Germans are bad because of Hitler and the NAzis.

  • Posted By: TruthTeller1989 @ 02/25/2008 8:26:45 PM

Obama reminds me of Kennedy, too. Great inspirational speeches, young and attractive, terrific presence. Obama reminds me of the same inexperienced Kennedy guilty of nepotism, countless botched attempts on Fidel Castro's life, and adultry; the same inexperienced Kennedy responsible for the Bay of Pigs disaster, misreading the Cuban Missile Crisis (the missiles were already there), and bringing the U.S. into Vietnam. I'll pass on Obama, despite his charisma and great smile. Give me practical experience and proven wisdom, please.

Do you think that Clinton does not have a "marketing machine"? Why are you punishing obama because his is better? They all are striving to have "slick" marketing campaigns.

  • Posted By: serendipity_elle @ 02/25/2008 8:26:03 PM

All democrats of America must unite in mentality on the simple basis that Barack Obama is the sole candidate standing as the the paragon for change and the need for change in the United States of America. Hillary Clinton is one of the worst combinations, she is not only a bitter and effeminate woman, but she is also a Clinton. Putting Hillary back into the White House simply means that Bill will once again be acting President as she will simply stand behind her man and be the conformist she is depicting herself to be. Does that sound like change...or is it synonymous with backwards thinking that will cause the continuous decline of the great country of U.S.A.?

She should do the right thing and get out gracefully, if she does she has a better chance of running and winning 8 years from now...She needs to realize its bigger than poitics its about a movement and about someone who has finally provided so many people with hope that felt dead inside. So many people have felt bad about the way this nation has been going up until now. i know for one I had lost hope for this nation and many other had too...but Obama gives so many people hope for this nation and for the future. Hillary needs to realize its not about ego or power and step out of the way of a movement that would give so many people hope again. I have spoken with so many democrats who say if she wins they would rather not vote in November than vote for her. Now that's saying a lot. The sad thing is we will then end up with a nother 8 years of republican hell. But there is a chance for a democratic president if she backs out. She is dividing the democratic party in such a way that she is alienating many democrats and turning they off...This is scary for our party and I feel the only way we will have a democratic president is if she backs out...I have not heard Clinton supporters say they would just not vote in November if it comes down to having to vote for Obama...But I have heard tons of Obama supporters say if it weree to come down to having to vote for Clinton in November they would just rather not go out to the polls and vote at all. so you know what that means the democratic party would be screwed in November...For the sake of the party I wish she would back out because I sure don't want another 8 years of a Republican president like we have had so far, talk about depressing!

Count me in as a Clinton supporter who will not vote for Obama. I will not vote for Obama.

      • Posted By: lastjournaliststanding @ 02/25/2008 8:26:02 PM

I will also not vote for obama. and not only because I'm disappointed that Hillary not nominated. This election should not be about a woman or person of color. It should be about who can put a strong hand on the ship of state, and right it.

  • Posted By: Denis01 @ 02/25/2008 8:25:52 PM

Jonathan Alter is simply filling up space. Hillary Clinton is a fighter with the spunk to stay in the race - I'm sure for her "It isn't over until it's over." She has much better experience and, for this primary election, she has my vote. I'd consider Obama for a future presidential election.

  • Posted By: bucknut @ 02/25/2008 8:25:39 PM

Look people, we don't want a repug for another 8 yrs. Clinton / Obama have to be on the same ticket now. There is no other choice. We cannot let our emotions allow us to make poor decisions. This is an insult to minorities and women making us fight like this while the white old man is planning 100 yrs of warefare, torture, and tax cuts for the wealthiest. Screw McCain! I'd rather have my dog be president.

  • Posted By: Healthymind @ 02/25/2008 8:25:00 PM

Hey Hilary never give -up to a Hybrid monkey , show that our race is net superior this fuc.. black creature.

  • Posted By: anchorageb2 @ 02/25/2008 8:24:29 PM

I think both clinton and Obama are an oxy-moron to thier party. Thier party frm the very beginning were against woman voting and black voting then they run for the very party that was against them. Its funny when people forget exactly what party made things possible for them to do things.
So if its Ioronic or Moronic i dont know maybe both but its sounds like if either one gets up thier they are going to slit our throats starting with our paychecks straight down to yanking the very rights that made it possible for them to get up thier shoot off thier mouths.

  • Posted By: joegamble @ 02/25/2008 8:24:24 PM

you are a moron. Why would she drop out when she has almost the same # of delegates than Obama? Hillary is the only democrat who can beat war hero Mccain. This article is crap. Just another example of the media jumping on the hype train fueling Obama's emotionally pandering campaign. Too bad it will probably crash another republican in the white house. Hillary haters need to get a clue. Like her or not, if you want to end the war, you need her. Obama will eventually run out of steam against Mccain. Hillary is his only competition, plus she a the strongest, most experienced person in the race. What a stupid article by newsweek.

Mrs. Obama: I am and will always be proud of my country and it didn't and wont take yours husband to make it so. I am from a military family, father served in Korea, husband served in Viet Nam, son on 3rd tour in Iraq, and even though these actions where not popular, my family gave to this country, what have you given? Hillary may not be the answer, but if your hubby gets the nomination, I will for the first time ever, vote republican.

    • Posted By: joelsf50 @ 02/25/2008 7:49:50 PM

I will do the same. If not Hillary, then go to R.

      • Posted By: lastjournaliststanding @ 02/25/2008 8:24:23 PM

I will also vote republican for the first time in my life, for president.

  • Posted By: justenough @ 02/25/2008 8:24:12 PM

If Senator Clinton withdraws and endorses Barach Obama, she need not even think about running for president again. Two years into Obama's first term it will be harder to find anyone who voted for him than to find a thirteen legged purple orb weaver with green and yellow stripes. The ones who voted for him will want someone to blame and she will be setting herself up as the someone. I hate to see her go but if she must go I hope she has the guts to take her pride with her and not belittle herself by endorsing a fake or supporting a party that has used and abused her.

As I read many of the comments, I find myself thinking, laughing, thinking, and laughing. The reasons to vote for a particular canadite should NOT be based upon the idea of whether or not they are muslim, christian, or agnostic. There are GREAT, Intelligent, and caring muslims, christians, and agnostics. It should not be based upon their middle name "Hussein" or their last name "Clinton." A name does not determine a persons actions. It should also not be determined by the feelings they give you as they make their speeches or debate their issues (that is if that is what they are debating...). Feelings will change as the fluff disappear and policies begin to be proposed.

Whether you choose Clinton or Obama it needs to be because of their stances and proposed policies on the issues. (Now just because they have proposed it in the past and it did not make it into law. It doesn't mean that nothing has been done to cause or encourage change.... That is why we have checks and balances so no one person in goverment can make decisions and make change.) I encourage all to check out each canidates website... http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ for Barack's ideas and http://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/ for Hillary's issues.

I've looked at both sites and I have chosen Hillary as my canidate to endorse. I feel very comfortable about my decision because I continue to make an informative decision. Now if Obama gets the nomination I will investiage McCains site and decide who I believe is the best between those too.

Hillary is a known..............you know what you are going to get.

Obama is like a box of chocolates.............you never know what your gonna get.

Will you take that chance? Will you bet the farm on that?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm this chocolate looks nice, smells nice, but when I bite into it there is nothing in the middle - its empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: gwhitt @ 02/25/2008 6:36:29 PM

"Hillary is a known..............you know what you are going to get."

I think that is a VERY scary thought... The experience that comes with Hillary is at a moment when politics and scandal were at its peak. The purpose for change is to try to get rid of as much dirty poliics as possible!

Sometimes its better to go with the "unknown" if it means a possible chance to get beyond the doom that comes with that you DO know! That is the purpose of the entire purpose of "change." To go in a different direction and not repeat history.... Hillary comes with History and many of the failing elements of history AND its failures. How can that experience be of good experience to get us beyond where we are?

For example, her campaign has welcomed lobbyist. Lobbyist were, is and, will be an ongoing problem to politics. If she believes in lobbyist, then that is a bad factor that will be a part of her current administration. This doesn't exactly HELP our nation any more than it hasn't in the past! However, Barack is recommending to govern lobbyist activity as to caution that they will NOT have a foot-hold on political decisions. Especially those that are important and tends to favor the lobbyist. Again, an old practice that Hillary believes in that REALLY needs to die in the past. In order for something like this to die, sometimes you have to eleminate the person along with the idea. Why? Because if the person has strong beliefs in this concept, they may not be able to change their views so easily. Barack is being funded by the public; therefore, there is NO political power, control, special interest or otherwise being handed over to special interest groups or lobbyists! This is an excellent choice!

he takes money from Exelon...a bad nuclear company that is making hundreds of his residents in his home state sick! is that better?????

and remeber, not all lobbyists are bad. Cancer patients have a lobbyist. Alzheimers patients have lobbyists. Scientists trying to find a cure for leukodystrophy which affects babies have a lobbyist

  • Posted By: nevadadude93 @ 02/25/2008 6:50:12 PM

Regretably, it won't happen. But what an excellent opportunity it would be for her to evidence the first example of class in her entire campaign. She and Bill have not endeared themselves to this once strong Clinton supporter. Her sense of entitlement and destiny have been very unappealing.

    • Posted By: beaker87 @ 02/25/2008 8:22:42 PM

When has she displayed a sense of entitlement. I keep hearing it in the media and people keep saying it on the web, but I have not seen it. If you have a specific example please point it out. I would like the opportunity to see it for myself, if you can reference a speech or an artile in regards to this sense of entitlement please point me in the right direction.
