Of course she should withdraw. Her recent smear tatics regarding Senator Obama just shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Hillary Clinton will do anything and everything to achieve her ambition and thirst for power. She and her husband have been planning this from the first time they became president and nothing, I repeat nothing will stand in her way.

We need Hillary to stay in the race for the sake lf America. Obama is the wrong person for the job of President. Please stop telling the best candidate running (dem or rep) to quit. Thanks for your ridiculous suggestion though. It will probably motivate more of her supporters to get out and vote. I know it has gotten me excited for her. We need Hillary. Get out and vote!

Newsweek's near 99% pro-Obama editors notwithstanding, clearly the press has been agressive at antagonizing HRC. Simply turn on to FOX news, MSNBC, NPR, even Factcheck.org, and you will find a pronounced edge set against her, her husband, her gender--all of it negative press. Obama, meanwhile, is leading such a charmed campaign, it not even funny. When he flipflops on anything, be it healthcare, Cuba, or drivers' licenses, pro-choice, Israel protection, etc., no one in the news ever points a critical finger. Why can't you readers see where your opinions are coming from? In any case, Hillary should not bow out of the race no sooner than after the Pennsylvania primary. Please Newsweek, stop counting Hillary out!

The media ruled Senator Clinton out before she even started. Why don't you journalists do your job for the public good and stick to the facts and issues, letting citizens decide for themselves who best to vote for in the presidential election. I have no respect for you, or for those who have so vehemently disregarded her decades of service for this country. As a Democrat, I'll vote for Nader before Obama, since we all want "real change", right?!

AND NO SHE SHOULDNT STOP, SHE IS A DETERMINED, BEST CANIDATE FOR THE JOB SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD SHE STOP....THE MEDIA SHOULD STOP PLAYEN GAMES, THIS WOMAN HAS BEEN THROUGH IT ALL....AND THATS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR OBAMA, HE USES PEOPLE WITHH BIG NAMES AND LOTS OF MONEY TO BACK HIM UP...SHE DOESNT NEED TO... IM OVER HIM

Hilary was "Toast" in all 40 voting districts in Alaska. Go Obama!

  • Posted By: Folkwolf101 @ 02/25/2008 8:05:32 PM

Hillary should not quite, not until after the primary in Pennsylvania at the earliest. The media is only now just starting to treat her more faily, while finally asking Obama more pointed questions. Newsweek's near 99% pro-Obama editorship notwithstanding, clearly the press has been agressive at antagonizing HRC. Simply turn on to FOX news, MSNBC, NPR, even Factcheck.org, and you will find a pronounced edge set against her, her husband, her gender--all of it negative press. Obama, meanwhile, is leading such a charmed campaign, it not even funny. Hillarry does need to step down, she had her chance and it was as succesful as she claims it to be and I dont like how she is acting these last couple of days.. I was undecided, but now I will vote for Obama

It's sad that most of these people turn their opinions into facts. The article is only giving us one view of the Democratic outlook. Realisticly, Clinton is too far behind, whether you like it or not, it is a fact. She is down by 150 delegates, Obama is gaining many superdelegates (who are leaving Clinton's party, btw both campaigns agreed not to lobby plegde superdelegates), and Obama is closing in on almost a 1 Million popular vote margin. Now when you factor in the fact that Obama has won 11 contests in a row, where do you draw the line for the good of the party and the country? Obama has been beating Clinton on average with the same margin as McCain has been beating Huckabee (and Huckabee is really running)

You people who are going to go republican if Clinton does win the nomination are providing
Mrs. Obama's point . People of color have nit alwasy been proud of this country many of us
did not think we would live to see a person of color have real shot at the presidency.

I agree. Seriously .....a woman as The President!!! Lets get real.

Clinton should not even be running. How can so many people forget the her and her husband brought in NAFTA. Does anybody but big business think that worked out for the best . The south alone is hovering around 20 - 24% unemployment( if you count all the people have exhausted their unempolyment and dropped of the map). Does anyone think that her policies will be any better? I am not against women being president, just NOT Hillary.

If Obama gets the Democratic nomination I will vote McCain. The "people" have turned this into a race war. He has had eight years in Illonois to fix his state and it is still in a crap state...Of course he will win the "dirty " south vote, but I will not vote for him. HIs wife should keep doing what she does best and just keep her mouth shut. I can't wait for her thesis to be published and see what she really thinks of this nation. How can you only be proud of this nation now that your husbnad is running??? And this is the type of people, who we want running this GREAT NATION? This is and will always be the best nation on earth and if you ever doubt your patriotism even once you should go back to KENYA and run for president there and be proud of that place....

Can ANYONE out there tell me what Obama has proposed IF he is elected president? Endoresed by a REAL RACIST (Louis Farrakhan). Endorsed by the backstabbing Kennedy's. Hillary has political know how, she's been at this for 35+ years, WAKE UP AMERICA, get off the Obama Hussien bandwagon just because he is the lastest phenom, yes phenom...no substance. Imagine this: Obama as the commander in chief, scares the HELL out of me. As for Hillary dropping out, preposterous...remember that Guliani was the republican front runner and garnered all of ONE delegate. I hope and pray that our great country will WAKE THE HELL UP and vote for the proven candidate.

Hillary should just concede. And let history in this matter of Obama take place. He has worked hard and so has his supporters. WE are not delusional but Hillary's politics are. I love your article.

You seem to have a great deal of time to post comments here. Good for you! Maybe you should devote some of your time to research. One of the most important issues facing our nation today, and will continue to do so, is the cost of healthcare. The leader of any organization should have foresight and be proactive. In the early nineties Hillary proposed healthcare reform. Universal healthcare to my knowledge. Of course, our backwards thinking government (Washington) and backroom, cigar smoking types thought the whole idea was nuts. I thought then, and continue to think, that male dominated Washington can not accept a strong, assertive woman and so did not even consider her idea. It wasn't the kind of issue it is today. But guess what folks, it dominates conversation everywhere you go.
Hillary has a firm grasp on this issue, and many others that are important to me (ending the Iraq war, ending subsidies to oil companies and pharmaceuticals, the sorry state of education in the US, ending tax breaks to companies that move their work out of the country, etc.) She is an extremely intelligent, well-spoken, experienced, informed candidate. She has my vote!

I am so tired of pundits declaring what candidates should do. Each candidate has a right to be in the running until the end. Sen. Clinton has a lot of people who still believe in her and her vision. They have a right to be heard. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Alter had this opinion even before the primaries began. Let the political system run it's course and stay out of the way, Mr. Alter. She should not be embarrassed by the campaign or ideas that she has presented. When is the media going to stop picking on her? Find something else to do. Maybe you could take up knitting?
There has been no real emphasis in the media about Sen. Clinton and how historic this is for a WOMAN to be running for President for the first time in over 200 years. I guess it's still easy to discount women and ask them to get out of the race. She still has a lot to be proud of. Even if she loses this race she has still won for many women who never thought they would see a woman run for President in their lifetime.

Hillary Clinton should keep her campaigh going, it is rediculous for Newsweek to suggest anything different. She is relatively close in delegate count, this is real democracy in practice. Regretably the media has given Barak Obama a free pass up to now with limited criticism, with Obama's filtered exposure it is easy to ask.....Who is Barak Obama?? Obamaism is a replay of what happened in California when Arnold
Swarzenneger decided that he wanted to be Governor, for weeks all the news wanted to do was to glorify Arnold...Arnold.....same thing now, different name....Obama....Obama. Hillary has been under attack by the media and guys like Rush Limbaugh for 15 years while Obama was cloistered in the background for most of us until recently. Let the light shine on Obama more and lets find out who he is for a while at least until Spring gets here.

Mike, your status in the eyes of the world community can't go down any further than it already is. Does George W. Bush ring any bells?
