Give Hillary the chance that she deserves don't count out the American people this should be our choice not yours. Why do you want the druggy to win sooo bad.

Hillary, PLEASE hang it up. Any more bloody infighting only serves to strengthen the Republicans' chances in November, something we *cannot* afford*.

Comment: Let me add my two cents....If Hillary was to go against Mccain she would undoubtably win..HANDS DOWN. The people know this. Barak will NEVER win against McCain. If Barak does win more delagates you can be assured that the next President will be a republican! I feel like the republicans are setting us up for a fall. Pay attention everyone. Clintons a woman and thats her ONLY downfall, but barak, well what about him...oh yes he gives good speeches. He has NO experience. NONE....We know more about Jesse Jackson? either one will represent change in America. maybe they should toss a coin and then join forces or the democrates will loose again

The very audacity of Barack Obama to be a member of the Senate for one year and then start campaigning to be President of the United States is appalling to me! What has he done with his life so far? Not a lot as far as I can see. And what about Larry Sinclair? I've seen the tape and he sounds believable to me. We've had outsiders as President before. Does anyone remember the disaster that was Jimmy Carter?

    • Posted By: M.Elle @ 02/25/2008 7:23:56 PM

What has he done? Oh... only graduate from Columbia and Harvard with honors, become the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, work at a top tier law firm, become a community organizer, state senator and Senator, all before he was 50. Indeed, it's more than many have done in their lifetime, including Hillary, who took four years to finish law school, and used her smarts to marry philandering Bubba. Now she's trying to Jedi mind trick all of us in to voting her president. Shame on you HIllary Clinton!!! All you have to offer is negativity and the war in Iraq.

I'm not sure I understand. When the Republican candidate, Romney, decided to quit, everyone was really surprised, and even thought it was a rash decision. Here is a woman, with a great campaign, at great number of delegates, almost the same number than the leading candidate for the Democrats has, and the media wants her to withdraw? Are you in drugs? Who the heck is paying you for these writings? People has the right to choose, even if you don't like it. It may come to end, and be that indeed, Obama wins, but we have the right to express our preferences, and to say that Hilary doens't have a chance is plainly ignorant, and disrespectful of all the states that are still awaiting to express their preferences.

  • Posted By: Harpsarah @ 02/25/2008 7:23:30 PM

Hillary should not quit. The race is too closel, and recent publicity for Obama is showing chinks in the Obama armor.

Hillary Clinton is the country's best bet for winning the white house in 2008 and regaining the respect of a disillusioned world.

A wonderful article. As much as anything, what Hillary risks by continuing to fight is a further poisoning of her husband's legacy. She should step aside, with class and dignity, and perhaps cross her fingers that Obama stumbles against McCain in the fall.

Honestly there is little excuse for someone who watched her husband win two presidential elections come out and make so many bad decisions in such a short amount of time. She needs to regroup, wait til 2012, and beg James Carville to join the fray one more time.

Hill" we did our best for you. Barack is at superstar staus and it's too far in the game to stop him. Go to Texas,Ohio and Pennsylvania. If you win all three, stay longer. If you lose even one but are close in the others bow out like the champion you are to many of us. We want a Democratic President, Hill. we really want change and soon. This is greater than just you. Think about it,would you!

I'm from PA and I'm upset that you would suggest that it be decided before I vote. Hillary would not be humiliated if she were defeated. After all isn't that what democracy is all about? Are the millions of people who voted for her minced meat? Why don't you emphasize her positive numbers i.e. popular vote and delegate vote? If Barack can't survive the general after being tested in the primaries, then perhaps Hillary is the better candidate. I've been an MSNBC regular, but I've really been disappointed with their bias in favor of Barack. And you're one of their regulars and you do the same. STOP BEING THE STORY, JUST REPORT THE NEWS AND DON'T DECIDE FOR THE VOTERS. Hillary was fighting for Civil Rights when it was not fashionable and even dangerous. Her efforts contributed to minorities being able to have a shot at the presidency. Why aren't you emphasizing that? Hillary is Hillary and Bill is Bill. If Hillary is elected, she'll be President, not Bill. When people talk about family values, I think of Hillary who could have easily and justifiably dumped her husband like some of the other, holier than thou candidates, but she stuck up for her family and forgave. Oh yeal, you have an answer for that too. She just wanted to get elected in the future by sticking with Bill. You've got all the angles covered but for the posibility that she is a person of decency and valour and dedication to the causes she has put her life into. So don't say throw in the towel so you can be proven right in your manpulation of the headlines. Let democracy run its course. You make FOX look better than it is. Maybe I'll swith to CNN. I won't be subscribing to Newsweek anytime soon. Yours truly, a former Legal Services Attorney, Jim

Get over it, Hillary will not get the nomination. Reason 1, she's a Clinton. I for one, do not want anyone associated with or related to "slick willy" as president. Hillary has done nothing impressive, nor has Obama. McCain has the influence and experience to get the job done. Any bets that when Hillary loses and drops out of the race she dumps that "monkey" that's on her back? (her husband)

Bovera, since you brought the issue up. Albeit from a negative standpoint, it is time that an African American becomes President. The sooner we get to addressing the racial divide in this country the better for my kids and their kids, and I'm white. I believe he is going to make a great President based on his merits, education, proper social concerns, wants to readdress our messed up foreign policy, etc., Oh yeah, I'm also a former Repbulican. We need a good ole fashion case of mind opening in this country!

Barack is going to make a strong, capable and decisive President. I am really looking forward to the next several years, and the positive changes he will help to take this country toward. Obama will help our relations with the rest of the world as well, and this will be good all around. It will be great to finally have a President we can trust and rely on, and one we can be completely proud of. This is the year! Good things come to those who wait.

"Clinton has only one shot???for Obama to trip up so badly that he disqualifies himself." J Alter

Please... Obama and his wife have tripped several times and the media has ignored it! Yet Clinton shows humanity and they says shes crying, then she shows toughness and they say she's too agressive. Welcome to America- were an intellegent articulate woman is unacceptable and the media positions the candidate they want you to vote for. Wake up America!!!!

I like this new Clinton strategy. Attack Obama's credibility and character, then turn around and deny that you are doing it. Meanwhile, insist that it is actually Obama who is going negative, and that you are the victim of unfair tactics. When pressed for examples, blame the media and accuse them of favoritism...

    Hideous, typical old school...

As I have sustained in other commentaries, it is no accident that we will start seen more artcles like this one. It is still to be seen if Obama is a clay or sugar idol intentionally created to make sure a trully powerfull contender will not win the democratic primaries/caucuses. It is no accident either that the same media we saw tellings us about "weapons of mass-destruction", "mushroom cloud", etc. has never questioned how Obama intends to implement his "magic" trick for transforming and bringing change to Washington nor who will likely be candidates to his cabinett?

Mr. Alter...... Are you talking about the Hillary Clinton, that clawed her way to the top. Implements camps of thugs to get her what she wants.... Are you talking the Hillary Clinton that will win at all and any cost? Come on......The Clintonistas don't care about the Partyy and or the Country.... They care about their power...... Please she is not going to bow out.... There will be some shinannegans (sp?) at the Convention... Remember, they are the

Hillary and her husband only have only to blame themselves for the current state of affairs of her campaign.. You would think that a man like former President Clinton would be an invaluable resource to his wife, instead he been a liability, I have no problem voting for a qualified "women" for President, Unfortunately, Ms. Clinton decided early on, she would win the candidacy, overspent her campaign funds on 5 star hotels ("Wow Hillary, way to to go, 5 star hotels and the middle class in America have so much in common."),
overspent on terrible advisor who are obviously "out of touch" with reality, and now has multiple personality disorder - will she be mean Hillary - nice Hillary - or go for the jugular Hillary. I am a white, middle class, middle aged male making over $50,000 per year, my wife is 50 and makes over $50,000 per year ,and we look forward to Barack Obama's candidacy for President. Finally, someone who has lived over half of his life as 80% of the rest of us in America. The Clinton Campaign doesn't realize, "You have to relate to your voters, stupid!". Jonathan Alter is correct, she should exit the race with grace and dignity, but she nor her husband understand the meaning of the phrase.

I'm a little confused here. Didn't Obama reside in Hawaii during his teens with his rich grandparents whom sent him to a private school? Didn't attend Occidental College (which my brother attended and paid over 45,000 per year) a private college with a high price on that as well? I'm still looking for where he lived like 80% of the rest of us. My family has lived on a single salary of 24,000 for the four of us and all of us have attended college on financial aid, as have all of my friends and a good 60% of the rest of the college students at this time. Don't say he was poor and all that crap, he is the same as Hilliary in terms of monetary levels. Way to jump on the band wagon for the inexperienced orator.

You should Exit this post with that SILLY COMMENT. Obama is not going to win ANYTHING WITHOUT HILLARY SUPPORTS which will not support a LIAR LIKE OBAMA.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees what's going down. I agree with you pasbair. Not only has the media anointed him but also some very BIG names and special interest groups have as well. When career politicians (the Kennedy's) and big unions endorse a candidate you know "who's sleeping with who." THEY need someone in the White House THEY can control and get things done in THEIR interest. He's gonna end up our next puppet president. Nothing's going to change

I am a mother of five children. I would be ashamed to be acting and behaving the way that she is. It is shameful. I will not have a woman who acts like she is losing her mind, and all of this sour grapes crap.
I am originally from Pa., and I will tell you right now ...you have lost Pa., Ohio and many more to come.
Go out with grace, this is the time to show if you have it within you as a human being.

    • Posted By: BigSexy1 @ 02/25/2008 7:20:40 PM

Do you use words like "crap" in front of your children??

    • Posted By: JJM-NJ @ 02/25/2008 7:08:45 PM

And as you put it "a mother of five" and yet probably you have not done your research, please check FactCheck.org and judge by yourself and don't let the media control your thoughts.

watching them on Thursday night..i really feel that together they would be unstoppable & would have a true shop at getting our nation back on track. She as President, Obama as VP. What a team! George Bush has done so much damage to our nation & to the world that the undoing of it will take years..I wish both Hillary Clinton & Barac Obama great success. I would like to see them on the ticket together.
