Opinion: Is that all the news is today? Why print such an article? The press is so against Hillary that you all are making asses out of yourselves! It is a real shame when these type of articles make those that don't know any better feel that their vote will be wasted if they vote for Hillary. I think this type of slander should be against the law!

I am sick of people who say that just because someone inspires them they should be voted for. Hilter inspired. Mao inspired. They told their citizens to look for the best in themselves to fix their country. People were so busy getting inspired and they weren't looking at anything else. And they paid the price. INSPIRATION IS NEVER A SUBSTITUTES FOR IDEAS.

It's ridiculous that many of you say you'll vote Mcain if Obama wins. You think that's what Hilary would want?? I believe she would want a Democratic candidate, whether it's her or not. It seems to me that too many of you take word for word what these people are saying. Haven't you ever listened to a politician before?? They ALL put a nice spin on the things they say, not one of them is COMPLETELY honest. What id on't understand is why Hilary has gotten ugly and insulted Obama for using hope in his campaign. Don't you get it, Obama is in the lead BECAUSE he talks about hope. His numbers aren't coming from the stereotypical voters. They are coming from people like me...the youth..the future...people that still cling to hope. Our nation is on a course of self-destruction. We want to believe that change can happen,if you can take that away then you might as well turn to your children and grandchildren and tell them, "Hey that American dream you hear so much about,it's crap. Give up now. You can't be anything you want. No matter how hard you work you'll never succeed. Change is impossible. This country will sink before it tries to save itself. " Sorry we still have dreams and refuse to be crushed by the failing schools, horrible foreign policies and crumbling economy of this Bush administration. Why don't you let US try?!?! Either way, I'll vote Democratic.ANY Democrat would be better than what we have now. Though i have to say, I'm disapointed Hilary has gotten so dirty, doesn't she see that old-school politics is why she's behind in the first place. We don't need some bred, raised and hand-fed the past brand of ugly, corrupt and lying politics. We wanna try something new. Worst case scenario, she'll be prez in 2012. If she does want EVEn that, she should bow out gracefully.

      When Bill lied, nobody died.

Our country was better off under Bill than any time in the last 20-30 years. You sound like a republican but if you're a Democrat, don't get all moral on me now...cause anyone knows that most of our great Presidents were not judged moral by a median segment of our country's population. A case in point is Lincoln during the civil war, and his scourced earth policy, down south. It was a tough decision but he had to end the war and pull the country back together. "Moral" decision, maybe not but he made the tough choice.

Bill as come through for us many times on the economy and foriegn relations. Moral President, no but I didn't elect a President who was a "good" sunday school boy, I elected someone who would lead and make the tough choices.

I believe that Hillary will also lead this country on a solid comeback that will sustain our country for future generations. If she loses, I will not vote for Obama, which means I will probably vote McCain. This, in my opinion, would be a better choice.

      • Posted By: koni0044 @ 02/26/2008 4:33:52 PM

My comment said nothing about Bill. What are you talking about. If you read my past comments i stated I would vote either way. i was just expressing my disgust in people who said they would rather vote McCain than Obama.I was saying that these people shouldn't call themselves Democrats. So please save your comment for someone who deserves it. I understand what Bill did and how he helped our country. i never said anything different. so i don't see how your comment has anything to do with mine.

I support HIllary 100% because she is the right person for 2008! I don't even agree with her on everything but still see she is the one who has the right stuff and best match for the times. I really don't care if it want Hillary wants! It is about voting my belief and Obama is not ready and will make a mess like Jimmy Carter and we will end up with 16 more years of Republicans! I can't vote for him so I will write in Hillary's name no matter what happens!

How about a little sports ananology: The Patriots were DESTINED to have a perfect season. Tom Brady was as near perfection as could be found. Should the Giants have just stayed home since the odds were so against them? Happy to say they didn't. A bit of time has gone on, and now we've learned the Patriots have been cheating for years, Brady is a hound dog with few morals on view, and the GIANTS really lived up to their name.

Now to politics. It's neck and neck, and Ms Clinton should step out to make it an easier win for Mr Obama. That's not an election, that's stupidity. You are implying she should do the genteel thing, and that is nothing but sexism. Would Ms Clinton (or any woman) even be considered a possible candidate with the same "relatively" short resume that Mr Obama has? I doubt it. This is merely a reminder about America. We fear being labled as racist, but you can still put down a chick and get the laughs.

Mr Alter do democracy a favor, and stifle yourself.

JF, you're probably as ugly as you are stupid..! There is no comparison between football and politics - what a moronic analogy..! Look at the motivations of most of the Republican candidates who bowed out gracefully to unite the party behind the most-likely-to-succeed candidate: Thompson, Guiliani, Romney. The only two "middle-weight" pretenders left (Huckleberry & Paul) are disgracing themselves, their supporters and the party by staying in the race. As a Republican, I am all for CL.IT.ON staying in until the convention, that will keep the Democrats split and back-biting and whining and complaining McCain all the way to the White House..! You go girl - keep fighting for something you ain't gonna get, and drag down everyone else around you..! Obamama won't win anyways as he is a two-bit con-man using his ethnicity (even though he's just as white as he is black, if not more) to give hope to the poor and down-trodden that he "represents". Give me a freakin' break..!

wow that was an intelligent reply. Lay in a personal insult and then post your debate? Did anyone hear of the Obama supporter that STABBED his Clinton supporter brother? Thats what this sounds like to me.

First of all, I'm young...and i HATE hip hop. Second I saw only a handful of african americans at my caucus and every single african american I've talked to didn't even vote. (and he still won my state) So sorry, you can't package all Obama supporters into a nice and neat little box of-black, hip hop lovin' youngsters

    • Posted By: Obamamama1 @ 02/26/2008 12:14:16 AM

obama is the new-millenium version of a black kennedy-without the morality, insight, intelligence, experience, and integrity. He has won the FEMALE black vote. Personally, I do not believe your "average" black american male CARES about who the next president is.

      • Posted By: koni0044 @ 02/26/2008 12:28:47 AM

yea, well I'm also white. So are the people i car pooled with. So are my parents. So are the other 20 youngsters i met at my caucus. So is my boyfriends. So are my cousins and aunts and uncles. My point is you try to make it sound like african american females and young hip-hop luvin' youngsters are the only people who voted fo him. And you're wrong. Plain and simple. Your arguement holds no truth.

        • Posted By: Obamamama1 @ 02/26/2008 12:42:35 AM

"So is my boyfriends"??? Hells yea! You do the demographic research-I am willing to bet you a pot of cowbro beans you can share with your "fambly" that I am RIGHT! Suckuh!

Oooh! Sorry base you opinion of me because i was tired and made a spelling error. You comments are ignorent, mean and completely out of control. Passion shouldn't be filled with anger. Get help. And yes you may be right that Obama has the black womens vote, so?!?! Like Hilary doesn't have the middle class/middle aged/white women vote?!?! All i was saying is that you can't base his success JUST because of them. And please, don't insult me. You don't know me, and if I was petty like you I'd tell you who I really am, but i don't need to rub that in your face. You are a snivvling and pathetic excuse for a person, that takes a political campaign and decides to make it personal against others. WHY?!?! This isn't about insulting people, it's about freedom of choice and speech. Unfortunately that also means we have to listen to the mindless drivel of people like you. If your so brilliant, stop waisting your time on a chatboard and go right a political book.

The media needs to quit. Exactly what democrats felt betrayed by Gore when he quit pursuing what was rightfully his in Florida in 2000. Hillary should never quit. We as a country need her courage and strength to persevere. Women need to stand up for justice and not be persuaded by men in the media. People especialy women need to start thinking for themselves and not be led by the misguided media.

it is very difficult for senator clinton supporters to accept the fact that she might loose the nomination especially after they tried to make senator obama looks new, greenhorn inexperienced and not ready to lead the country.but they forgot that those who claimed to have the utmost experience who new everything inside out and have been in politics for 30 years got it wrong from voting tfor the IRAQ war to letting it go on forever and not event apolagizing for the vote. senator clinton ran on the platform that she is the next president she was flying very high soory it is gonna be a long way down

Dan Abrams said it all last night on MSNBC. Jonathan Alter is crazy to suggest that she get out now. There are millions of people in America who still want to cast their votes for Hillary. The whole system is flawed but we're stuck with it. Hillary is a fighter. That's why we love her.

How much money did Obama's team pay you to write this article? You are a sell out. In addition, many of your comments are incorrect. It's absolutely fine to have your own opinions, but to report with such bias is borderline immoral, and certainly unethical. I am very disappointed with Newsweek.

  • Posted By: Neshka @ 02/25/2008 6:36:00 PM

You are a totally ignorant ranting fools. I hate to use those terms, but that's what you sound like. I'll tell you who Obama is: he is the birth child of America. He is the the bridge between white and black; His mother is white and his father is African. He is the bridge between a blemished past and a hopeful future. Hence he is the son of a Southern Slave Master's decendent, and the son of the African Slave. He is what America hopes to be united as one. Our country has a checkered past true, but we can change that, we can rebuild the legacy of America. What we stand for now is diveristy and that's what he represents, across age, race, and social economic barries. It's really not "who" he is, but what he represents. Anyone with a policatical background with "experience" can run for president, but what they lack and what he has is "vision". You can't work for that. Hillary is an amazing woman and I commend her strength, but right now she doesn't have what the American people are looking for. We need something new, fresh, untainted; A visionary with passion, purpose, and hope. We need unity. A wise man once said, A house divided against itself can not stand. We need to unite and work together to rebuild this country, and leave a legacy for our children that we all can be proud of. Obama may not be the person to fully complete that task, but he will be the flame that ignites the heart of the American people to see it through to the end. God Bless America, God Bless Obama.

Comment: I totally agree with you on the subject of race/gender, and Obama not turning this into a "First Black President" campaign. I commend him for that, and that's why I make the case of his background, because he IS NOT exclusively black and he IS NOT exclusively white. But because Hillary is a woman, the media is really dividing the Democratic Party between race and gender. That's why I say, a house divided against itself can not stand. If they can't agree, then they need to at least agreee to disagree, which is a little cliche'ish. But they will have to in order to ensure that a Democratic is running the country for at least the next for years. All the people who say that they will not support one candidate over the other, and will vote for McCain is a disgrace. You are very individualistic, and are not looking at the whole picture. If McCain is elected into office, due to people with that mindset self interest, the suffering of the American people should be on your head. The blood of the soldiers who McCain plans to keep in war for another 100 years, will be on your hands, and the tears of the family and children that will lose their loved ones will rain down on you.

Barrack Obama is Milli Vanilli. Glitz and glamour, star appeal, but not the real deal. This is for president of the U.S., not American Idol. The impetuousness of youth and their sad parents who want to stay cool forever by listening hip hop and voting for glib candidates. The mature no longer want to lead and guide their parents.

  • Posted By: es3196 @ 02/26/2008 3:01:24 PM

Shrillary, shriek....All I ever hear is an educated woman talking in an eloquent manner. I dare say no politician has been on the receiving end of so many attacks for so long. How horrible she must be to have raised such an outstanding daughter amidst the chaos of constant scrutiny. Despite her falling numbers, listen to talk radio-- you know, limaugh and hannity-- and the constant stream of hate towards her continues. And sadly Matthews, Olberman, Obama, et al has picked up on their tactics. And of course it has nothing to do with her being a strong, ambitious woman. American prejudice will cause this country to lose out on a brilliant president. Great Post Mcgowan. Dead on. For me it Hillary or nobody this fall. Sorry Barrack, you can't sell your fool's gold to me.
