    Surrender?

    Never!

A loss is a loss. One must know how to win and how not to.

What if something happens in between.

You must be an Obama Supporter.

Obama never considered the WMD Intelligence Report when deciding to vote on the Authorization for war document, right?

    Obama was irresponsible!

Earlyriser77: Obama wasn't a senator when we went to war. Get your facts straight before making ridiculous statements.

I see all these comments from people attacking Obama. One person saying that they are not a "racist" but that they don't think he should be president because he is "black"- if you are not a racist then why the heck would his being black matter?

Let me be clear when I say unlike some who are making their dislike for a candidate way too personal- I don't hate Hillary. As far as ANY of the candidates go, it is all talk until they become president. I don't care what they did in the senate until they are president you have no idea how they are going to deal with the extra pressure that the job places on them by the two parties, the special interest groups and the world as a whole. There is no way of knowing (unless you are psychic) of who will actually live up to their promises and who won't. SO what do we do? We all vote on who we think is the most sincere and pray we are making the right choice. Essentially it is very similar to gambling, and sometimes the country makes the wrong bet.

Personally, I think Clinton and Obama both want to help the country. I think even McCain would be an improvement over Bush as he has a history of being bi-partisan. The main reason I back Obama though is because of why so many people are actually against him- experience. I don't care if he is EXPERIENCED, I think it is a plus. It means that he has less time to have been corrupted by Washington. It seems most of the experienced people we get just seem to have more experience lying. At least Obama comes out in his own books and points out his failings. I would rather have a president who owns up to their mistakes than someone who puts the blame on others.

That said, be happy America. Regardless of who gets the nomination, or who becomes president- we will be better off than we are now. I am glad we live in a country where we can all debate, disagree and not be killed for our beliefs. It makes me so proud of my father who fought for this country every time I hear anyone do something so simple as to argue their point. Freedom is great. Take care everyone.

People truly can't stand the thought of a woman in the White House. Are we so oppressed as woman that we can't stand up for one another (i.e., sexism is more of an issue than racism). Hillary Clinton is the superior candidate. I, for one, will be devastated if she resigns at this point. And to the author, you should consider resigning.... Maybe you were thinking of Mike Huckabee? Or are you also drinking the Obama kool-aid? Hope you enjoy it in 4 years when our country is still in a mess because we replaced one inexperienced president with another.

My sentiments exactly. If women can't support a female candidate, when will we ever see a woman president.

Hillary should concede in grace. I love your article what a pleasant read. I really hope she does, I really like Hillary but her pointless attrack on a man (Obama) who is touching and inspiring people all over the world and will most likely be the President of the United States of America, is unprofessional. I really hope she leave in grace not in defeat.

No Jonathan - YOU should get out now. What are you afraid of? Afraid YOUR candidate, Obama, won't win? Hopefully, the superdelegates will save us from empty suit Oblahma! Oh - we know - he's a gold mine for the newspapers and pundits endorsing him.
    Quantity over Quality.

alrul: I couldn't agree more with your take on this ticket.

Hillary has old experience, old ideals, old mentality, gift of spin tactics that represent an "old school" logic that has eroded the growth and stability of the USA. When has there been a leader that can bring the hearts and souls of so many to elicit excitment in their country and in their future. Obama is the clear choice for America. Those who can't see it I believe are those who instinctively are afraid of anything that is different and do whatever they can to hold onto the status quo. Time to educate yourself..........

I agree wholeheartedly that Senator Clinton should concede defeat and focus on party unity. Senator Clinton is not going to be the Democratic nominee. Instead of looking like a desperate and crazed politician, she should ignore her handlers. Join Obama as the VP and create The Dream Ticket the Dems need.
Why should she continue when she will only be crushed by McCain in a general election. Senator Clinton and supporters should focus on winning the General Election now. There's nothing wrong with conceding for the good of the party.

Clinton supporters: America has spoken and the message is clear. Obama has a mandate to be the nominee. Fall in line and let's unite the country. No more desperate negative attacks.

Oh, and why does everyone rip on her for being connected to Bill? Last time I checked we were in a surplus when he was our president. In fact, he is going down as one of the best presidents of all time. Look at what he did for the country.

I'm from ohio and I'm planning on voting for Hillary.. Hillary has a lot of support from my state, regardless of what anyone in the media would like to make you think. Bow out gracefully? Where do they come up with these numbers anyways?

You can't spell "quit" and need to stop writing about issues that do not pretain to the topic at hand. Hillary is our only hope and if you Obama cults could relize this we would be alot better off... You will see once he is President the mistake you all have made. Just like the idiots that voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004 are finally realizing. This is not about RACE, it is about his abilities and he simply is not ready to lead a country! I guess a republican is in office for another 4 years! It amazing how our country thinks... no wonder we are continuing to lose respect within the world... this will only get worse! Yes he will be the 1st african american person... but what else... there is no substance to that statement! Vote for true change, vote for experience, vote for honest love to all americans, VOTE FOR HILLARY!

Is it me or is it the bewildering attitudes some have that would suggest that the politics of the past have proven fruitfull to all the poor and middle class citizens that are struggling to make ends meet. Never compare the likes of Obama to a G.Bush. or any other president that has made billions off the backs of the working class. The truth is always manifested in the light, some folks are mentally blind.

    That valedictory moment

  • Posted By: Teacher Dude @ 02/23/2008 7:49:14 PM

It was interesting watching the three Democratic presidential candidates debating in Texas this past week: Barak Obama vs. the two Hillary Clintons. One never knows which Hillary Clinton we are going to hear. First there is the Hillary Clinton with the contrived smile who says what an "honor" it is to appear with Barak Obama. Then there is the more familiar (and true) Hillary Clinton, slinging the dirtiest of mud with goofy lines such as, ???change you can Xerox??? (this from the woman who uses passages from Bill Clinton???s speeches as if they were her own).

Hillary and her advisors have reportedly been torn as to how to go after Obama. As her presidential campaign sputters to its inevitable defeat on March 4, the Clinton campaign has obviously made the decision to unleash the real Hillary. This strategy became clearly evident with Hillary???s explosive and groundless tirade against Barak Obama on Saturday in Ohio. Any Democrats or independents who are still undecided in the race between Hillary and Obama should ask themselves, ???Is Hillary truly the kind of person we want to listen to for the next four years???? ???Is she the person we want representing our country to the rest of the world???? ???Is this what Hillary means by ???change???????

In my opinion, Clinton should call it a day. Look at the polls result. Win Clinton wins, it's by a narrow margin. When Obama wins, its by miles. Yeah she said she has experience. However last time I check, she had a back seat. Clinton was the first Lady, not the President. McCain was a war hero. But he also has never been a president. People talk about the experience Obama doesn't have, but the reallity of things is that non of the candiates have experience of being president. Secondly, yes Obama grandfather is from Kenya, but I don't see what that has to do with anything. Really let's look at the past presidents. George Washington, last time I checked, His ancestors wore wigs and dressed like women. Yet he was the 1st president. Abrham Lincoln, grandparents had slaves. Lincoln himself had slaves. Yet when the civil war was going, and the north was losing the battle, he freed the slaves in the succeeding states to help the North fight the war. And then Good old George Bush Sr. Here's a man who drugged the United States in to the Desert Storm War, and for what? Because he had a problem with how Iraq was ran. He didn't accomplish what he sat out to due. So the people decided to elect His son to office twice. Because of this, not only is this country in another war with a man who said at texas university that his reigne would be the one to end the world, as the commander in chief. Because of Bush jr. trying to finish what his father started, alot of people have lost their husbands, fathers, childrens, wives, and daughters. I could go on and on, but this is getting off the topic. Obama has not only won in votes over Clinton, but all the votes added up from the republicans varily equals clintons votes, and yet doesn't come close to Obama's votes. Face it, Mccain doesn't face Obama in an election for fear that he will definely lose. Mccain knows that he has a shot at beating Clinton. And living sake would everyone stop trying to turn this into a gender/race thing, because it's not. Obama has never said that this election is about a black man making history. He said that his election campaigne is about a man trying make a change and trying to giving the people hope. Clinton has never said that she want to be president to make history as the first Woman President. So to the racist, and sexist, wake up, cause this is not what this election is about. it's about putting the best person for the job in office and hoping that they don't screw up worse than what we already have. According to the elcetion polls, Yes it's time for Clinton to start preparing for defeat. If she cannot win Texas and ohio convincenly, Then her ime is up.

Well that would have been a good idea Mr. Alter, but we now see she has blown her chance of going out with class. If she keeps it up, hopefully they can do a recall on her Senate Seat.

As always, I find myself shocked at how Bill Clinton's presidency is touted as Hillary's "experience". Especially when she wants to diassociate herself with many of Bill's decisions in the White House. If Hillary ever wants to make another bid for the presidency, she SHOULD gracefully exit now. Americans are tired of her snarky comments and emotional bi-polarity. She should take another four years to completely overhaul her campaign strategy and try again. That's what happens when you let overconfidence get the best of you and don't plan for campaigns post Super Tuesday.
