Obama needs to be our next President. He will be a great leader. Experience doesn't matter, we need CHANGE! Those with experience (Clinton and McCain) would put us back in the same spot we have been the last 8 years.

If this was MAN you would not even question this. It is an unbelievably sexist article and I for one am sick of the press pushy Hillary to step aside to make way for the men. How about fifgting for what you believe in, how about never give up, how about standing by what you believe in and believe to worthy? I guess that doesnt matter if your a woman -you are pressured to give up, to step aside. If nothing esle her NOT giving in proves she has what it takes to stand up to the pressure, to follow through, to go the distance. How about you write that!

Comment: Ah yes...............Obama. Say it with me....Obama. The name rolls off the tongue. OOOOOOOhammmmma. Mr. Obama and his beautiful speeches of rainbows, little rabbits running about, flower, lots and lots of pretty flowers AND ALL PART of his idealistic, socialist utopia.

Oh brave new world! What a utopia it will be as long as Obama speaks to me. Pass me a Soma before I actually validate his words. I don't want to think....................but just dream of Obama's and his promise of utopia.

Commentators suggest quite frequently that Hillary Clinton will fare better in public opinion and in the minds of voters if she shows more often more of the ???Real??? Hillary. They point to examples of how she became teary eyed at one point. They site how toward the end of the debate in Austin she shared that her personal challenges were very small in comparison to those of American Citizens and the future of our country.

All that said, doesn???t anyone find it oddly ironic that the Junior Senator from Illinois is the one on the stage making rebuttal while stating that people were somehow duped into voting for him? Are people somehow being duped into not voting for Hillary Clinton?

Let???s face it, not many of us would be able to survive what Hillary Clinton has experienced in having been to the front lines and having fought successfully. And now, the WOMAN is willingly re-enlisting for an additional tour of duty, and all under the guise ??? mostly according to the media - that she somehow doesn???t show her personal side more often? How much more personal does one have to get? Is the character, will and determination that got Hillary to this point somehow diminished by her choice to present herself in a professional manner? Do people really want to be told what they want to hear cloaked in messages and idealistic views of the future, or a mirage of borrowed words and scripted rhetoric through the evangelical delivery of continuing themes?

Hope is not a new concept, nor is change. In fact some might argue that change is the only constant. To that end, can we not, based on Hillary???s proven character (character refined through real challenge and experience), rest assured that Hillary is the best candidate who can continue to embrace and positively effect change for the good of this country, and the rest of the world for that matter?

It???s funny; in most cases, humanity seems to have been satisfied with sporadic and temporal glimpses into the character of our great leaders, inventors, writers, poets and artists. It is those glimpses that can assure us that we have made the right choices by judging the value of their contributions to the world. Today, as in the past, it is people who have learned enough to be the best at what they do which we want at the helm teaching those that will come afterward. Talent is a gift, but talent unrefined and not used is nothing more than a waste. The democratic race is not a glass half full or half empty proposition. It is more like three quarters full versus half full. Why would anyone choose the half full glass, especially if they are thirsty?

I guess after asking so many times and getting no answers, it's clear that even Hillary's supporters can't explain her credentials and experience. Why? She has none.

The new media has been over zealous in pushing Obama and critical of Clinton. Even Obama is using smear tactics. Most of the bad smears has been the Obama group against Clinton. I for one will not vote for Obama because of this. Too bad that a Republican will regain the White House and it is all due to the cult like fanatics like the Obama Group. The other Democrats have already been outed by the media.

What about a Hillary/Obama ticket. The best of both worlds. Hillary's experience and Obama's enthusiam Obama's wife is a very intelligent woman and our country was more united when Bill Clinton was president. Combine their collective knowledge and how could we go wrong. Debbie McDonald, Montana

That's what I always like, seeing how Obama is inexperienced and Hillary has so much experience along with a track record of proven results. Proven results of doing what? Being Bill's stoolie while he was prez? I never did think too much of her anyway. For all of her education and so called brilliance (surely being a lawyer she can live on a single income and for a while could have gotten child support for Chelsea), why did she put up with that low-life when he was having the rendezvous with Monica, you talk about publicly embarrassing. Any self respecting person (female or male) would have ditched him then and there. She stayed with him to run for president and mark my word, if Obama beats her, the Clintons will be divorced within 5 years. You heard it here first sports fans.

Still playing the same CD.....isn't your candidate having all kinds of problems now....with his ever-present affair with lobbyist? Is everybody on his campaign staff a lobbyist? And he keeps switching his story of who he spoke to....or maybe he just forgot due to his advanced age? And then there's the issue of his campaign funding with the FEC...tsk, tsk.......what will Johnny do!!!!!

Once again, we have opinionated, lambasting, irresponsible journalists influencing the popular vote in such a way as to prevent a fair representation at the polls. As in Florida, predicting the outcome sways the popular vote because the little guy doesn't want to "waste his or her vote"; therefore, they cast their ballot for the projected winner even if that 'winner' is a long way from being over the top. I think the journalists should refrain from calling the race until the race is over. Using their access to the news media in a way as to unfairly project their views on the electorate is dishonest and irresponsible journalism. Report the facts - not your desires and the system will "work itself out".

    Pillory Hillary.

LISTEN- Senator Obama is an intelligent, articulate and a quite capable candidate. Like it or not he is winning. He will most likely win Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvannia. The Super Delagates will support the popular vote and this man will go on to win the democratic nomination.
And like it or not- Hillary's misguided campaign as well as the media are assisting this candidate in his
quest. As an Obama supporter I find this fascinating, however I understand the frustration of the Clinton supporter.
For those who do not understand Senator Obama's position on issues, do check out the many websites that outline his policies. You might also check out his accomplishments as well. He's truly no lightweight.

Finally, if experience is the argument, examine the last eight years. A wealth of experience-right?

Mr. Alter; I still think you will get your wish for a brokered convention. Ms. Clinton has the balls and ego like her husband. In a brokered convention she will win hands down. I also think McCain can beat either one of the Democrats. The independents are smart and will never vote for another Clinton and certainly not a Black Muslim.

Obama hasn't proven anything beyond he learned his lessons well in Chicago and can campaign - and speak - engagingly. Is he ready to be president - I don't think so..

  • Posted By: brubru05 @ 02/25/2008 2:02:07 PM

I am a centrist independent and you sir are a moron. As a journalist you shame your own profession. Newsweek, Time, MSNBC, New York Times - all of you seem to have been paid by the Obama campaign and are trying to become the defacto propoganda channel for Obama, if he becomes president. You got this job because of your resume. Why don't you use your brain and write more intelligent articles or go work for the Enquirer.

I think there is an overt Clinton slant to most of the stories in the past month or so.

I have been disappointed in 3 of the last 4 presidential elections. In '92 we threw out our most qualified stateman since Kennedy and elected a draft dodger and liar that said he did not inhale.

in 2002 we elected a draft dodger who possibly stole the election in Florida. In 2004 we relected an incombent who had been a huge failure in his 1st administration.

Looks like we might be electing the least qualified of the remaining 3 top candidates. I say let McCain and Hillary fight it out; Their credentials are best all around for us as a country. McCain should get the office but then I worry about his age.

Obama needs another 4 years of experience before we can turn the country over to him.

  • Posted By: alpatric @ 02/25/2008 5:29:24 PM

We would like at least more than one candidate. Why don't you just choose the president for us........

  • Posted By: vanya @ 02/25/2008 5:19:21 PM

Here we go again. The media wanting to decide this race. I am waiting for her to come to our state so I can cast my vote for her. For the last two presidential elections I have watched the American people rush to the train wreck that was George W Bush. If Hillary doesn't win then I am just closing my eyes. I don't wanted watch this train wreck. The best I can say with America's downward spiral is that I did what I could and "don't b blame me me

    • Posted By: bellypotamus @ 02/25/2008 5:29:15 PM

Hillary, Obama, or Mccain won't be the saviour of the US no matter what everyone wants to think. Presidents are human and flawed ones at that as we all are.Personally, I feel this election has the poorest choices we have had for an election in a very long time.) I just wish people would stop acting as if Hillary or Obama or whoever is going to turn everything around---they won't - mark my words! Too bad Condaleeza rice didn't run...she would have had my vote!

You've got to be kidding! Why the hell should she exit "gracefully"? As a woman she has had to fight for her rightful place in politics as well as in the public eye. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton are both qualified candidates - however, I think we (the voting population) need to decide. I am tired of hearing this crap from "unbiased" people - (the media/FOX) I know its man's world - but some of us would like to see a change. I thought the Republicans were the ones that like to make our decisions for us!
