Ms. Clinton will never bow out gracefully. She never has done anything with grace. Why would she start now?
Ms. Clinton will never bow out gracefully. She never has done anything with grace. Why would she start now?
I cant believe i am reading this. Hillary is very much in the race, she is down by less than 100 delegates are you people nuts ??!! So you basically want the race to be between a man with 2 years senate experience who should be motivational speaker not a presidential candidate and a 71 year old 3rd term bush ? Well this country gets what it deserves, after all you did elect George W for 2 terms. Looks like the fall of another empire.
I think she should stay in to the END!
Ms. Clinton will never bow out gracefully. She never has done anything with grace. Why would she start now?
This country has been waiting for something new, if we elect hillary as president can you imagine having the last 24 years of this country run by two different families!!!!! Go Obama We hav been waiting for something new like you to bring this country around!!!!!
OBAMA needs the exercise to be prepared to beat McCain and the save millionares low tax rate crowd.
Go OBAMA
Huh?
What an idiot. What happened to unbiased reporting? This is the last time I read any of his "work."
"Why Hilary should quit"...because we in the media are too stupid and incurious to deal with more than one or two candidates. We want to decide the election FOR you at least a year or two ahead of time, we can be bothered too many details.
...Thank God for the eye-opening, introspective, anf enlightening essays of the Republican Presidential nominee....RICHARD NIXON...the Greatest!!! Swisspeas
Why don't you just come out and say you're supporting Obama instead of this disingenuous bologna whereby you make comments like "This would be terrible for people like me who have been dreaming of a brokered convention for decades"
There's nothing wrong with saying you support Obama. Do you really think your readers are that stupid?
let me ask you this, who is obama? we know who he isnt, because he hasnt done anything. he is a nobody. its absurd to think that fixing this country by electing a black nobody is going to work. be better off voting jesse jackson into office, at least we know who and what kind of person he is. good bye
Your post is about racism not real politics. The reason why you don't know about Obama is because you don't want. I am guessing you love to be ignorant any chance you get don't you?
by the way if you didn't realize this is the Newsweek websit not KKK. Oh there you go being ignorant again.
Jonathan has not asked anybody to vote Obama because he is black. You are intriducing racism into the discussion, as many a Hilary supporter are wont to do these days, by bringing in Jesse Jackson being black. You would probably not ask "Who is Obama?" if he was White. In that case, his sound education, political organizing experience, experience in both state and federal legislatures, his proposals and EFFICIENTLY run campaign, his thoughtfulness, etc.--all for a 46 year-old--would have been enough for you, You are better of checking out the issues than looking at skin color. It does not do Hilary Clinton's campaign any good by the impression one gets that supporters include many racist democrats.
your comment is about racism not real politics. If you don't know about Obama is because you don't want to know, I am guessing you love to be ignorant in every way possible don't you?
Obama does have limited national experience. No one will argue that point. However, what's with the "black nobody" stuff? What does his race have to do with his experience? Why compare him to Jesse Jackson? It would seem to me that a more accurate comparison might be Bobby Kennedy or some other young politician that was able to motivate the masses. I'm giving you the benifit of the doubt and I am
assuming that you can't possibly be as ignorant as your comments make you appear to be.
Did you actually read the article or did you need someone to read it to you...just asking.
The choice before her is to go down ugly, The Hillary who swallowed .
Intersting choice of words.
Trish,
Get over it, we are not going to get the nineties back and as a nation, we can't even afford to waste the time wishing we could. Ms. Clinton's problems have less to do with her gender than her "experience" she is so loudly shouting about. It is that "experience" that is driving folks away in droves. I don't want any more "old school politics", even if it is delivered from a woman. Personally, I like having something positive to believe in again.....as Americans we do our best work when we "believe". And I don't think Hillary has the ability to inspire anyone enough to deliver anything new.....just more of the same drek. By the way, I REALLY dislike her portraying any Obama believer as silly for wanting to create something new, something better, something to be proud of. It's a brave new world and America is right smack dab in the middle of it....
Obama believers are not silly as he himself said they are delusional. you must ne crazy to put your country into the hands of a person nobody knows. Who is he?
He did not say his supporters were delusional. He said that Clinton and her people unfairly protray his supporters as delusional. Clinton's charges are ridiculous and hit below the belt. She seems to be getting a free pass just because she is female.
You know nothing. Study history learn and then talk.
It has nothing to do with her gender? Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are you so quick to say we can not get the economy back the the 90's?
Everyone is so negative. I believe.
One thing people are forgetting. The rest of the world liked the Clintons. We need the world to
like the USA again.
Alter: I could not agree more. Before hearing Obama's message, I contemplated voting for Hillary. Whether through words, delivery, or ideas Obama represents hope and once again instills faith in the Federal Government. Hillary is fooling herself, if she thinks Obama will stumble. Is it possible that her high paid consultants and managers don't want the gravy train to come to an abrupt stop and have conviced her she still has a chance?
Hillary needs to keep fighting not only for the Democratic nomination but, for the American people. She has proven that she has an actual vision for this country. What has Barack Obama done? Absoultely nothing!!! I want to continue to support the Democratic party but, there is no way I will support Barack Obama for president. GO HILLARY!!!!!
She voted for this war!
She should have shoved Chelsa in a uniform if she was so hot on all the poor going.
She should take Bill and go back to Arkansas, a her and his behaviour seems rather Hill-billy ( hey a new meaning for the word : Hill-Billy to act embarrasing when you don't get your own way, as in the behaviour of Bill and Hill Clinton)
Personally, I think that Hillary should bow out now. I really don't care if it is gracefully or not. I do not like Hillary Clinton nor believe in what she says she stands for. I do however, believe that she is two-faced and that she talks out of both sides of her mouth. She tells you what you want to hear, but doesn't seem to follow through. Of course , this is only my opinion and I know that everyone has one. To each his own .

SHe did not plagiarize, if I say I love you to my son, is that plagiarizing becuase someone else may have said it. Everything obama has said is from someone else. ANd it is NAFTA North American Free Trade Act - Moron. It is stupind to suggest that she leave.
So Jonathan Alter wants his leading lady to act out his fantasy "that would make her seem the epitome of grace and class and . . . unity" and step back behind the red velvet curtain, admitting that "whatever happens we'll be fine?" He should go buy a book on Jackie Kennedy. This is NOT what is needed of a presidential candidate, and as much as anyone hates a woman to be strong, persistent, tough as nails, or even lob criticisms at the competition--we individually and collectively will continue to do so until someone takes one of us seriously enough to elect us President, Vice President, CEO of at least half of the major corporations, and so forth. For the press to write a pathetic piece like this when they ought to be writing about how UNDERREPRESENTED competent women are in all power roles in this nation is a disgrace. I have not seen one article about the economic and political glass ceiling, created by just the sort of anti-equality hysteria that Mrs. Clinton's campaign has uncovered. She speaks for many of us, and if we all seem a bit short on the cheerleader qualities, it's because we've been holding up your sorry asses for too long. Go give up yourself. I would be ashamed to be your mother, because she deserves better.
P.S. She was proud to be one of the top two candidates standing up there, not proud of being second to Obama. You need to talk to a few more people who have lived longer than you have.
I guess i would like to know why every press release from the Clinton campaign now has them saying "Obama should be ashamed," or "shame on you Obama" for doing this , that, or the other. Especially coming from a candidate who neither she or her husband have ever shown any shame in their personal or political dealings. Shame on you Hillary for not only refusing to take take the high road but seen intent on taking the lowest of the low roads.
All of the Inter-party fighting and cheap shots is reprehensible, especially if you are still making this a race or sex issue. Our country needs one of these two great candidates to step into the Whitehouse for the next eight years, and hopefully the other will be there for the next eight years after that. I have been an Obama supporter since his keynote address at The Democratic National Convention in ???04, and I plan on trying to make it out to Denver in August. Although I hope to be waiving an Obama ???08 sign I would be equally as proud to hold up a Clinton ???08 sign. That being said get out and vote for who you think is best not who I think or who anyone else thinks, but don???t take the cheap shots at the other candidates and especially on the columnist from Newsweek it is an opinion not fact.
