How could you even suggest such a thing. Hillary is not some wimp who is in the race just for noteriety. She is in the race to win and to serve those that elect her as the next President. If that is how you feel, why are you not screaming off the mountain top about Huckabee? Double standard no doubt. Hillary has always been a fighter and has fought her way through much worse adversity. She is our best chance to take back the white house. I feel in my heart that if Obama gets the nomination...all hell will break loose and folks will come out of the woodworks to tear him down...they are just salivating and waiting for that momeht...then and surely then, the Republicans will be right back in the White House. I hope she can win the nominaton.

Hillary is the one who voted for the war in Iraq, not Obama... get your facts straight. There are so many ignorant people in theis country asserting their opinons as if they were fact.. In fact wih all the controversy and scandals behind the Clinton's in politics, the republicans will have a feild day running agains that. But Obama, represents a movement... It's hard to sop a movement!!!

This is the problem with the campaign season starting so early. Why should she quit? This would take away many people's right to vote, who want to vote for Hilary. The democratic process is to allow Americans to vote for the candidate who best represents their issues. Because she's not winning the popular vote, she should bow out now? The primaries are only getting started. I think Obama is a great canidate. But just because he's winning the popular vote - so far, we should eliminate any possible options for the rest of America who hasn't voted. These reporters need to give it a break and let the democratic process take place. After all isn't that why Bush says we are in Iraq? To allow the citizens the right to follow democratic processes like this?

This is what the Republican's want us to do, fight with each other and not look at the big picture. We need to take this Country back from the special interest groups and rebuild the middle class and i mean Black, White, Hispanic, etc... Hillary is Qualified for the Presidency Barack is not, Make her President and Barack Vice and he gains the experience and becomes President in 8 years.

I hope McCain will take the presidency in November. I cannot imagine president of USA being black.Simple.How can you vote someone who's grandfather was living in Kenya with animals, tradition means a lot, more than we beleive.
I'm not a racist, far away from it, all I want to say is to clearfy some basic phylosophies.

    • Posted By: llsadowski @ 02/25/2008 5:20:03 PM

How can you not call yourself racist with a comment like that! What gets to me is that scientist have proven time and again that we are all descendants of blacks from Africa. I just don't understand in this day and age how people can be ignorant. How can we grow as a country when we have such shallow ideas. By the way, I am a white woman who was once attacked by a black man and I made the choice to forgive and not be prejudice because of what one bad person did to me.

I too am waiting for Obama to give us a clue on how he is going to solve all the problems that we face. He talks as if just him being elected is going to fix everything. As they used to say "Where's the beef." I do hear clear cut plans on Clinton's agenda. It is a shame that the media has worked so hard to give coverage in a way that makes for exciting stories, but does nothing to report the facts. And the BIggest thing everyone seems to be forgetting is where the real power lies. In Congress. Time to clean that place up or again nothing will be accomplished.

Hillary is SUCH a phony. Her plagiarism comment proves it. She copied a speech DIRECTLY from Bill Clinton's speech of 1992. "I have taken so many hits in my life". Both Bill and Hillary are interested in one thing...self-promotion. NAFDA Co-Presidents and now she wants to run from her position. Her experience in the White House is similar to the cook. She was there and did NOTHING that lasted. THAT is her legacy and her experience.

Does is really matter which one we send to the gallows? Neither has a chance. Hillary is almost as divisive as Obama. Just because Obama is black, doesn???t mean we have to like him.

Just because Hillary is a woman, it doesn't mean we have to like her, either. She has to deserve the respect she wants to command -- and I don't see that.

  • Posted By: thz870 @ 02/25/2008 5:19:24 PM

Jeez, she's not even dead yet and you are tossing dirt on her grave. Let's see what happens next week. I have nothing against Obama. However, I don't see any substance. He is eloquent, he says what we need to hear about healing and changing, but nothing substantive. People want to hear this, it gives us hope which we desparately need at this time. However, the only one who has said and done anything substantive is Hilary Clinton. I hope people can make this distinction before they get to the poles to vote in Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and all the other upcoming primaries. It is great to vote for hope and vote for change and vote for healing and unity, it is another to deliver...

I think she needs to stay and hope she wins Obama is not qualified , he is being supported by big bussness. He hasn't done anything for Illinois and yet he carried the vote. Primarly Chicago, need I explain and Unions Which if you are so stupid someone tells you how to VOTE I rest my case....We may have though Bill Clinton screwed up, but the ecoonomy was excellent, he redused our bebt, we was in the black -not the red, but just listen to obama's wife. Now that scares me.

    You sexist pig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you think that she should give up because you media people have given an open mouth kiss to Obama you are wrong. If she quits then you will call her a quiter.
You are wrong about a lot of things especially about women quiting. You and Oberman can kiss O'Reilly too while you are "loving " On Obama.

I'm so tired of idiotic comments and assessments like these. The media has been so pro Obama and anti-Hillary it really makes me sick! They are giving him a pass just like they did George W in 2000. Look where that got us! It makes me very sad that so many Democrats have fallen for O-blah-blah's shallow and hollow campaign. He's the Pied Piper leading them off a cliff. I'm buying my parachute now!

Who are you to say Hillary should get out now? This is the most ridiculous comment I have heard - especially since she's been gaining some momentum these past few days. I guess my question is; how much is Obama paying you? Wow, I can't believe the media; and this is comment is coming from a concerned resident of Canada. Talk about media trying to influence the voters.

Obama is way too young and while he may be articulate and a good speaker, so was Hitler. Besdies, Obama keeps getting caught up in his lies.

    • Posted By: xaraster @ 02/25/2008 5:18:54 PM

Articulate speaker. Yes, Obama is and so was Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Malcom X, Peter Singer....
list is much longer than just "Hitler"

Right on. Hill should quit now and let the Party regroup before the General election. It is insanity to stay in and continue to divide the Party when she doesn't really have a credible chance of winning now. The Demos' limited funds should not be spent destroying each other, it should be preserved and aimed at McCain!

  • Posted By: tootsie518 @ 02/25/2008 5:18:30 PM

How dare you push your political opinion just because you have a forum! It's chauvinistic men and simple-minded people who would rather vote for a man who spouts black rhetoric than an intelligent woman.who has proven herself. It's a shame that so many people are fooled into believing he can pull us all together. In this country, it's perfectly fine and expected for a black to vote on race alone. However, if a white person does this, it's called racism! This doesn't make me feel unified. If he gets the nomination, I'm voting McCain!

  • Posted By: PCapone @ 02/25/2008 5:18:22 PM

Newsweek should fire this arrogant reporter. How dare he suggest in a national forum that Hillary should give up. It has been clear for months that the old boys network does not want Hillary. It started with Chris Matthews, Keith Oberman, Joe Scalborough. Then it moved on to the old boys in the Senate and House. John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Kent Conrad, Tom Dashle ( the biggest slime ball of all whose wife is a K street lobbyist). The democratic senators and congressman could have taken lessons from Joe Biden, Govenor Richardson , John Edwards, and Al Gore and kept their mouths shut. They were not quiet because Senator Obama will be giving Kennedy, Kerry, Conrad and Dashle and many more something for selling out the possibility of the first woman president. This should have been the story this author wrote. He is evidentally to lazy to investigate why Hillary who is clearly more capable for this position then Senator Obama.has so many powerful men against her.

Given 69 delegates between Obama and Clinton, why doesn't Obama concede -- it would be for the good the country & the Democratic Party -- I mean, our biggest problems are the Economy Stupid and Foreign Relations and she shines on both. Despite "O-God-Know's" slander of both the Clinton's, his revisionist history of the Clinton's contributions to history is absurb (ah, yeah, Bill and Hillary are racists -- how sickening) I'm sure she can handle the economy better than he -- I mean, wasn't it a Clinton who erased the largest National Debt in history before Bush created his? Would Obama,(whose #1 Corporate Sponsor is Goldman Sachs & whose voting record, short and undistinguished as it is, in the Senate reveals him to warrant that support) -- so very, Pro-Corporate, be any different than Bush? Please . . . Re: Foreign Relations -- as much as she is maligned here in the States, overseas, Hillary is a Super Star -- foreigner's love her and wouldn't it be a hit to Osama Bin Ladin and all the others, for a WOMAN to be President of the United States -- it'd be fantastic! But, alas, not to be. The media is pushing "O-God-Know" down our throats 24/7 -- it's like a social experiment actually -- let's see how this person, who started running for President one year into his Senate career, with a background only in local Chicago politics, can do with 2 wars, the biggest deficit in our history, crushing social problems inherited from Bush -- I can't wait to see!

If you all were endorsing such a wonderful candidate than why would you push the competition out already? Trust me, this is far from over so stop writing her obituary, you sexist idiots!!!

I believe Hillary should keep fighting: she has experience in Washington that Mr. Obama does not; she also has first hand experience (through her husband Bill) of the grit and etermination it takes to run a country. Hillary and Obama's campaigns---both are similar in context. However, my vote is for the EXPERIENCED lawmaker.
